So the sexualization also comes down to that diss. Which just sounded dumb and ignorant af (the diss). So at the end of the day... it is just that one incident?
I don't believe he should be dragged till the end of his life for that gross (coz it was gross, I'm not gonna deny it) diss track. Especially since he did nothing to even make me suspect he still holds these views now.
That said, if in the future his action will go back to his previous behavior, I will drop him easily, coz that would mean he learned nothing.
About the "dissing idols" part, you said it took him 3 years to apologize, so he was around 18 when it happened, aka young. We all know how rap industry is and what was the perception many rappers have/had on idols. Being 18 you are EASILY influenced and you want to impress and fit into your social circle. I assume that's what happened here. He was dumb and ignorant. He gave a proper apology now, that he matured. He literally could not do it better: he apologized and then learned what it truly means to be an idol by working his ass off in the show, like all the other trainees. Since people he offended themselves accepted the apology (based on the reaction of mentors who are idols and trainees themselves) I don't see how fans should still get offended on their behalf. That's it on that topic.
I have no idea how he was before the show, since I did see him in he show for the first time. Based on how he is now, he must have matured a lot. Not once was he rude or disrespectful. He might have been rude in the past, but again, he was teen, teens are dumb.
To the most important: could you link me some sources of when and how he sexualized minors and the using R word? Coz that's bad. He was one of my favorites in the show, so I would like to know if he did some problematic things in the past.
Also, if it's only "show honey" why are you so pressed about how characters are written. Practice what you preach.
BUT even going by the "here all psychopaths are killers", it still makes no sense for the mother to have an abortion. Before the kids were born, the research was barely concluded. It was ONE research from ONE researcher against the body of work of years from other researchers. I would not do an abortion either, coz one dude claims all psychopaths will be killers, it's illogical and dumb.
"but by implying what she said we can assume that she hoped that they would understand and repent" no line she said would suggest that was her reasoning. Her attitude was more of: it's not serious enough for us to take this case. and only AFTER she saw they had some connection to the gangster guy she said it's more than just immature teenagers behavior. Which would suggest that everything she saw and heard before she classified as "immature behavior".
Also, this was not a way to make the bullies understand. By the end they did not understand their wrongdoings, nor did they feel bad. They barely remembered the victims. They "accepted" the punishment out of fear not guilt. Not to mention none of the adults involved was truly punished, which was also a joke. I was a victim of bullying, and I honestly felt much more resentment towards adults than the teens that were bullying me.
What annoyed me was the fact close to no adults were punished, when they were as guilty as the teens. The homeroom teacher should be beaten up and get his leg broken, at least. The parents of the bullies should get their fair share of shit. And the principal. Coz with the way they showed it, the adults were not guilty and made it seem like they didn't know how excessive it all was. Which is such a joke I cannot.
But what annoyed the the most were Go Eun's remarks. First her questioning the validity of the case, when it does not differ in severity from the last one. She literally just heard how the boy was abused and even push on the street and got his leg hurt, and she was like: do we have to go after teenagers? Excuse me, but how is their behavior different from the criminals from the first two episodes?
Then she was "surprised" how they don't feel guilty partying with a stolen money. Girl, you know they are almost daily beating and physically assaulting their classmates - partying with stolen money is a minor thing compared. You are focusing on some weird shit here.
and then she went with "that's beyond just being immature teenagers" when she saw them giving money to the gangster. As if everything she knew before was a "immature teenagers behavior". Bish, beating up your classmates and assaulting them and both physically and psychologically torturing them is not being an immature teenager either.
Yeah, I am quite honestly not a fan of episode 3 and 4.
Two minor things that made me laugh: first of all no teenage boy would be using Internet Explorer hahahaha + he has some supernatural healing skills, coz after that motorcycle accident his bones would be crushed. he took that plaster off fairly quickly.
People who vote for Lelush as a way to help him gain recognition for his design stuff are delusional and need some reality check. He is a grown up, not a child. Who the heck do these people think they are to ignore him CONSTANTLY asking not to vote for him and let him leave. He has way too much trust in his founders. If they respected his wishes, he would be out on the 2nd evaluation. I'm just praying this poor dude will not be stuck in a 2 years contract if he debuts, coz that will legit ruin his mental state.
Honestly, if I was him I would be depressed and feel like shit. I would feel like I'm stealing someone's spot and making it harder for others to achieve their dreams. Even tho this is not his fault, it's hard not to feel angry and guilty in a situation like that. This must be truly emotionally exhausting.
People say that these shows are heartless, but then themselves be acting like that and keeping a dude in for a joke, even tho it means one less person can fight to achieve their dreams.
From all the characters, the least "evil" and with depth was Do Hae Won, since they nicely played the "is she doing it for her son, or is she doing it for herself" act. Up till the last confession scene, it was not that obvious.
But here the characters that broke the law and broke moral principles for their own gain were at the end the culprits, and the ones that were acting morally gray for the justice/good of others were at the end not involved in the crime (or at the level that could be ignored).
For me, having Jung Je actually be the killer would be far more interesting and out of the box. But they went with the safest possible scenerio on who was the killer.
And while DID with a smart person having personality with developmental problems could happen, it's rather improbable the other way around. If the brain is not developed enough, it's impossible to create a persona that is developmentally further than the brain itself.
> The explanation for the accident that got Dong Shik’s sister dead. It was such a safe way to conclude the story: the good guys are good, the bad guys are bad - no novelty there. My excitement for the show dropped quite a bit after we got that answer.
> Jin Mook’s character. First of all, I have found him pretending to be developmentally challenged for years, quite ridiculous. The fact no one picked up on the act for so long (except for the daughter) was simply unrealistic. Not to mention… we didn’t really get an answer when he started it and why. He was a big part of the plot, so the fact his character was never truly explained disappoints me a bit.
