As for the drama I ended up loving: Project S: Skate Our Souls. Up till now I picked up 26 dropped dramas, 10 I finished (with various levels of enjoyment, but mostly around 6-7.5 rating) and dropped for the 2nd time 16.
For a few months now I've been doing a "2nd chance project" and gave my dropped shows 2nd chance. Most went back to dropped list, few I finished but the ratings went from 4.5 to 7.5. Only one drama that I've previously dropped, I ended up loving. And the more I do this small project the more I'm starting to trust myself with my choices of dropping shows.
My favorite part of that comment was "uninformed seemingly cool shade on BL industry" simply because they are calling people who work on the series and are active creators in BL industry, which makes them part of the BL industry, as "uninformed". Them writing uninformed shade means they are uninformed in the eyes of the OP. So from the looks of it, OP thinks they have better understanding how BL industry works from people who are part of and literally work in BL industry.
For me, I like to try many dramas from different countries and genres. Sometimes it's miss, sometime it's hit. I hate checking a lot of details before starting shows, usually I just check the genre, first few tags and cast - I don't even read synopsis. Why? Coz in many cases going blindly into a show is more funny. Many synopsis have quite a spoilers in them too.
With me starting many different shows, it's given sometime they will end up not being my thing - hence a drop.
That said, I am doing the 2nd chance project (which tbh, only proves to me that I did a good job dropping these show in 80% of situations lol) and I'm in the process of writing article about it.
Great articles guys! I love reading the ones that are more focus on users and their habits and opinions, rather than shows themselves :D
Excuses are given when one does something wrong. There is nothing wrong in dropping dramas. Hence they gave explanation what makes them drop shows and not excuses why they drop them.
could you perhaps elaborate which parts exactly were the "uninformed seemingly cool shade" and why you perceived them as such?
beautiful scene and yet I could not stop laughing
⇢ Did they just send PSH without explaining ANYTHING to her? Like... how to stay low profile and not get caught. She is all over the place not even trying to stay low key and not get caught. wtf? what kind of bullshit is this?
⇢ WHY THE FUCK WAS THE SNIPER WAITING SO LONG TO SHOOT? Was he nice dude who wanted to give ML time to finish the speech? What kind of bullshit is this?
⇢ where the fuck did PSH got that tablet from and how did she had a time to write 엎드려 on it while fighting guards? what kind of bullshit is this?
⇢ Bitch be shooting at the direction of the sniper without even LOOKING and somehow she gets the bullets near and almost gets him lol what kind of bullshit is this?
⇢ there was NOT enough smoke for them to run away without Voldemort seeing it. what kind of bullshit is this?
⇢ did she just removed his magazine and yet he is still shooting? with what? what kind of bullshit is this?
⇢ WHY IS HER HAIR NOT MOVING WHEN SHE IS LITERALLY SLIDING DOWN A FUCKING BUILDING. What is this shitty green screen job? They would be dead. The laws of physics did not apply to this scene AT ALL. what kind of bullshit is this?
⇢ did they just kill Voldemort behind the scenes? Coz PSH only hit him in the face with gun. He would not die coz of that lol what kind of bullshit is this?
As you could see, this show legit got me angry. I can deal with ridiculous scenes in many shows, but sci fi? Nope. Especially since the mistakes done here were truly ridiculous.
I clearly said "I loved the serious topics they decided to comment on with this show. I love the ideas behind some of the truly impactful scenes BUT the approach and end result was not always something I enjoyed.". I applaud them for giving more serious representation compared to other Thai BLs, but that does not mean I am amazed with the way they were presented.
"Fantasy set in modern times should explore the unexplained but never go against what we actually know and contradict the reality. When they dropped the "I got resurrected in a new body but my dna stayed the same" I was extremely close to dropping it again. Honestly did not think it could go any more illogical."
For the third charm, I cannot comment since I dropped it on episode one.
Honestly I don;t have much problem with anyone's acting, but rather with the writing of the show...
