I really was! I'm scared for season 2. LolThat makes a lot of sense though but always questioned the possibly…
I think it was more of: why you survived alone. And the guilt associated with it.

BUT (crazy idea) maybe Hana was the one who poisoned the family and herself. and when she was talking to the photo with the "i still don't understand why you did that" she was talking to her past self (since now she is completely different person, and she does not have clear memories of her past).

Jo Byung-gyu's acting was truly perfection. I love So Moon as a character and could not even imagine anyone else in this role.

Thank you for commenting on my review and sharing your opinion with me. Yes I too wished there were more development…
With the "road trip" scenerio, I don't have mu hopes for more scenes with the friends. I just hope they will address the fact he is still in high school. They are driving around the country, but doesn't he have classes?

You could not stop watching coz it was so intense, I had to pause episodes coz they were so intense hahaha But conclusion is the same: it's so good it affects the viewer quite a lot.

What I understood from Hana's story: one of the family members tried to commit suicide and poison the whole family. We don't know why, Hana does not know why herself. She was able to survive coz she vomited the food that was poisoned. That's how I understood it.

Review The Uncanny Counter Spoiler
One of the things I wished to get more was the two friends of Moon's. I wished we saw more of them interacting as a reminder Moon is just a kid/teen.

And yes, the format is quite repetitive. It's the same story over and over again, just with a stronger evil spirit.

Totally agree that the last fighting scene with the main villain was weak... just too easy. They set this whole issue about him being pure evil, close to impossible to catch. That maybe Moon would be able but it's not a certain thing since no one truly knows how strong Moon or the evil spirit is. But then before the scene could truly start, it was over.

And yeah, the story was not that complex and mosty focused on the characters, their teamwork and emotional aspects. Lucky, this is what I usually like in shows, so for me I was not complaining. But if someone is looking for more plot wise, this might be a bit weak.

Confused world buildingEnding was great but they dragged it way too much, it became a bit ridiculous.. I wonder…
I agree that Yung's rules were not that well explain, the reason it didn't bother me that much, was the fact the focus was on the humans and what is happening on "earth". Spending more time on Yung and how it works there would mean taking away from the scenes from human world, and I would feel like the human's part is lacking... But I get the frustration.

Some things I think I can explain tho:
Yung partners cannot "help" counters on earth. By being their partners they give them special abilities, but they cannot actively do anything. I think that was quite clear with how the relationships between them were built.

Did they ever say evil spirit cannot leave the body unless the host dies? (they might, but I don't remember). Assuming they didn;t, I think the reason the evil spirits never moved bodies was the fact it's hard to find host, and if they don't find them fast, they will die. But since the son was right next tpo dad, the evil spirit knew where and how to move between them. That's how I understood it.

The lack of consequences was frustrating. While the staff was not something I found annoying (coz at the end of the day, it was not their fault it was broken. They did what they could and barely survive in the process), but later on for example then Hana uses her powers to give the grandparents the closure. That would be unauthorized use of her powers, 5th strike and she should be out lol

If the spirit moves from their body or the spirit dies, the person goes back to coma. If the human dies with the spirit, they go to heaven.

The Yung partner Moon "absorbed" went to Yung. As Wi Gen said, Moon is a bridge between Earth and Yung. So basically he did not absorb the guy, but was a door for him to move from Earth back to Yung.

Is there any romance?
Jang moon and ms chu. Definitelly little romance. Past story of mo tak and the detective. I would both describe as little romance.

Thanks for the review Kate. I am dropping it just one episode short of completing it. It was shit. I am hating…
honestly, good not to watch last episode. It was easily the worst of them all

It really was and i feel like most the time when she talked, it was like she was chewing her own face. Lol it…
The episodes with the new writer are already out and I didn't really feel the difference in the quality. But yeah, I guess we will know how the ending goes tomorrow.

oh, I feel you. I was not the biggest fan of Sung Kyung here too. You can have a character to be over the top but it must come out as natural, and here it did feel forced and fake at times...

Everything about this show was left open < omg yes. The whole 2nd half of the show was mess and it's ALL on director and production crew. They were suppose to be in contact with the writer of the webtoon and they had a clear vision to where the story is suppose to go, but half way through director started to ignore the wishes of the author and do whatever she liked. It was a huge issue in Korea. To the point they made a movie, since no one was happy with how the drama was presented.

I totally agree that the concept was truly fresh. Technically speaking it's an old "soulmates" story, but presented in a truly unique way :)

woah the reviews and comments are... horrible... so serious question: can my love for mike and toptap blind me…
i mean... the literally "censored" all the kisses between Toptap and Mike coz the actors probably did not kiss at all. It felt like two best friends rather than couple :(

This is the most consummate review I have come across about this sh... whatever you wanna call it. Thank you XD
I honestly did not expect it to be as bad of a show as it was. I was hoping they will clear the homophobic act early on and focus on making the relationship work with the dad being against it or something.

I feel bad for the actors, but at the same time... they did agree to play the roles so..

I couldn't even finish it. There was just nothing likeable about Ton - as best I could figure, Chon was in love…
I just love how in the last episode they revealed that Ton was actually in love with Chon since they were kids lol WHAT A JOKE. It made no sense with how they presented his character so far and how he interacted with everyone.

Cherry on top? The dad agreeing to them dating if Ton uses surrogate to have a kid, and with that Miriam became Virgin Mary lol

I had far more fun writing rant review than watching this show. I can take well produced and written show with problematic stuff, or poorly produced but simple love story and still semi enjoy them. But this was both problematic and poorly written... so I was left with nothing except from Na, who is a little bit of saving grace.
yoonthethicc Jan 22, 2021
yas to all. this show was such a trash, 4.5 is a high rating hahaha
I honestly feed bad for actor that they have this in their history of acting now, tho it was their choice to accept the roles
anyway, you watched the last ep without subs like me?
