yes, that was from the past when they were in university. All the last scenes in the drama are the flashbacks of the past, not the present.

He does want to OWN Da On, and keeping him as friend is the easiest way - that's the calculative way he thinks. He wants to be the most important person for Da On. Which cannot happen if Da On likes someone else - because then his partner would take his place. He wants to isolate Da On from others and make sure he can only rely on him, but he does not want to risk potential break up in the future. So he keeps their relationship on this platonic friendship side. It's more of an obsession and want to possess, rather than love. It's not romance, so it cannot be viewed as such - it;s not about platonic or not, it;s about keeping Da On as his possession in any way possible.

He could just be a kind, supportive friend, even if that side of his personality is mere dissembly. < he CANNOT because he is a psychopath 🤡 He is not kind, he does not have much empathy. You look at his situation from a normal person perspective, but he is not normal.

I don't think he wants to be in a relationship with Da On, he wants Da On close and in his life tho. Relationship is too much of a risk for him coz they can break up and that would be the end, while keeping him around as friend is safe. He wants to won him and be with him - that's a huge difference.

He does not think like a normal person 😅 For him it's easier to keep Da On in his life like they are now, while making sure he does not get close to anyone else. Not to mention - longer term relationships at some point would mean them living together, and I honestly think he knows he would not be able to fake his kind persona that much... 🤣

From what I understood since kind of episode 2.

First Da On liked Jae Min. But it was just his crush and since Jae Min was this cool hyung and Jae Min never crossed the line to make Da On think he might have any feelings, it was left just as an unrequited love.

Then he met Su Hyeon in university and they started of hand out. Seeing how he understood he has no chance with Jae Min, he was able to slowly move on and started to have feelings for Su Hyeon.

Don't know if the beating up the dude happened before or after the contract, but both were the result of Jae Min seeing Da On likes Su Hyeon and trying to stop them from dating. Su Hyeon was an idiot because he did not see Da On likes him, he was sure he has feelings for Jae Min (which is not that dumb, I am sure Da On still had feelings for Jae Min at the beginning when he met Su Hyeon).

Then Su Hyeon left to US. Da On was left with just Jae Min supporting him, so naturally his feelings started to grow again. But with the rejected confession I guess he understood that no matter how much he wants Jae Min and likes him, it will never happen.

That's when we get Seong Hyeon being nice and carrying and SO loveable, Da On starts to have feelings for him.

It's not a lot tbh. The whole plot starts when Da On was in high school picking university and now working for quite some time in the company after graduation - that's years of life. Having 3 crushes is quite normal.

Can we talk about the last scene tho? Coz I cannot move on.

The way Seong Hyeon truly switches from puppy to guard dog I cannot 😭
Also that moment when he puts Da On behind his back more - it was not a reaction to Su Hyeon threatening Da On, it was a reaction to Su Hyeon threatening harming Seong Hyeon. I think Seong Hyeon understand Da On is willing to put up with a lot to protect people he cares for, so him pushing him more behind his back was not only to protect him, but also a way to reassure him he does not have to give in and that Seong Hyeon is willing to stand up for him. That the threats do not work on him, and they should not on Da On.

But also Da On knows with Su Hyeon it's not just empty words, and he is in fact aggressive and dangerous. He truly is scared for Seong Hyeon safety. So his priority is to separate them, even if it means letting Su Hyeon in and letting Seong Hyeon go.

The way Su Hyeon grabbed Seong Hyeon collar, but the baby boy best boy did not move an inch! 😭
But then Da On remembered how Su Hyeon literally almost killed someone in the past and he decided to get between them. BUT ALSO THE FUCKING DIFFERENCE!

In the past when Da On told Su Hyeon to stop, he used force to push him away, not caring if he hurts him in the process. Coz all he cared about was just his anger.

And now Seong Hyeon does not lash out, just asks Da On not to leave - not because he is "choosing" a different man, but because he is scared for his safety. For Su Hyeon his feelings are the most important, for Seong Hyeon Da On's feelings and safety are priority. If he was the one to find Da On in that situation in the past, he would not beat the dude up, he would get Da On out of that situation first to make sure he is safe.

Milkshake and Puppy are everything I will die to protect them 😭 I am so happy they cleared the whole mess about saying Jaemin's name during the make out session 🤡 And Puppy turning into a Guard Dog full on protection mode 🔥 But also that fucking last scene! Don't go Da-On-ah! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Both Toxic Oppa and Psycho are trash, just different flavor 😅 I actually like Jae Min as a character. I feel like they did such a good job with portraying how manipulative trash is. It's in the details of how he behaves with others. Even "in private" he makes sure he is not "blamed" for anything - like the chat with the "friend" of Da On, how she made it clear he did not ASK him to find out anything, he had to verbalize he did it on his own.

I honestly do not understand why so many Chinese modern shows are around 30 episodes long, when more often than not they simply do not have enough content to fill that screen time 🥲

But yes, the acting was perfect, and I think it's the first time in a Chinese modern show I have seen someone actually cut ties with their awful family. Usually the "forgive" approach is the one the writers go for.
