Okay... why? Why are they even hanging out with this people when they are so awful? Why were these people for example invited for the funeral? Why are you out here hanging out in a bar/restaurant with them when all they do is diss you and look down on you? Why oh why? Make it make sense. This is the only thing that makes me so confused...
Fuck yeah Seung Eon! This was my point! Why sit there and listen to all the crap. Just leave. And take that Seok Gyeong's card with you! 🔥🔥
Gang Hui's dad can be dying and I won't give a fuck. The way he sits down with all these people like they are his family WHEN THEY WERE BULLYING HIS DAUGHTER FROM THE TIME SHE WAS LIKE 7 TILL THE DAY SHE LEFT THE FUCKOING TOWN AS A 20 YEARS OLD WOMAN IS SO FUCKING WILD FOR ME I CANNOT.
Nan U and Seok Gyeong are such a good second leads. God bless them. I wish them all the happiness imagined.
"Is she on the phone?" Nope, she is just the crazy bish in the town 😅
This is how you film a nightmare scene lol They usually don't make sense and are random and exaggerated as fuck 🤡 Loved that little fight.
Okay the more I watch the more it makes sense she is so confused about what to do with her feelings for Yeon Su. He was a massive part of the reason she was able to survive emotionally in the first place, but at the same time literally everyone told her she is not worth him, including his grandpa who she saw as her family, probably closer than her own father. It hits when someone like that indirectly tells you they don;t see you with their grandson...
WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE CEO KNEW THE DAD AND SHE IS CONSIDERING DATING HIM? Damn this is in fact plot twist 😅 Jokes aside, that would kill me. With how much she wants to run away from her past and move on, start fresh... knowing her past is even more entangled with her present than she thought... That would legit break me.
Like... is it me or the dad had like... no reaction to his son dying and his wife almost dying in that flashback? lol
Damn it is exactly as I said - him saying he cares for his family but with actions prioritizing other people...
Gang Hui asking "Yeon Su" is he can abandon his mother can have two meanings - literally putting an ultimatum: i cannot be with you if you are in contact with your mother. But for me it also reflects her situation - i feel like it might feel like being with Yeon Su is like abandoning her mother. Getting together with the son of the woman that "took away her dad when he was the most needed" and all that.
The more I think about the dad the more pissed I am. It's not just past mistakes. He is still friends with people who treat his daughter like a trash. Like... there is no fucking excuse.
Every fucking drama I watched today had the first kissing scene in it after main plot started 🤣 What is going on. Way to make me feel so fucking lonely 🤡
I like how they clearly show logically Kang Hui knows she is acting like a massive bitch and she has "no right" to cry when she was the one to end it. But emotionally it hits her so fucking much. Sometimes you cannot logic your way out of your emotions, no matter how much you would want to try.
Welcome party? Maybe my non-existing delulu ship has a chance to interact 🙃🤡
What the actual fuck, they literally stopped him from going up and literally forced him out of the building! MY DELULU SHIP IS LITERALLY DYING BEFORE IT EVEN STARTED TO EXIST IN THE FIRST PLACE 😭 Literally all the potential chances of Seok Gyeong and A Reum interacting, they are forcing them apart 🙃I know it;s not about A Reum but keeping him away from Gang Hui, but it still feels personal like they want to fuck my delulu ship up.
I cannot be the only one who gets STRONG Kim Go Eun vibe from Choi Hee Jin. Like... She is so "older Ji Eun Tak" here 🤡
People were questioning why she hated the village so much, but they already even before episode 5 hinted how literally majority of adults were literally bullying this child in her face saying how she and her mother ruined Chun Pil. Now we see they even told her she is the reason her grandma "went insane" and basically died (since they said she died of anger). Like... this is in fact traumatic and it makes perfect sense she hates this place. As for the dad... up till now not once have we seen him actually confront villagers and protect his child. All we see it him being nice to her in the motel, but we don't see him fight for her in public.
And now she is an adult the the dude that told her she basically killed her grandma asks her to apologize to him 🤡 Honestly... she is surprisingly normal for all the shit she went through. I would be so much more bitter and vindictive.
DUDE LITERALLY TRIED TO PHYSICALLY FORCE HER TO KNEEL DOWN AND APOLOGIZE. Like do we now agree she has all the rights to hate the place?
On one had she hurts when she is with Yeon Su because when she is with him she cannot ignore her past, pretend like it does not exist and does not affect her anymore. She also feels more pathetic. She always did not feel like she deserves him, and he keeps seeing her in her most embarrassing moments... On the other hand he is the only one she ever truly opened to, the only one who truly cared for her... so not having him by her side also hurts 😭 GO TO THERAPY BISH
"All I need to do is receive help and thank them. But I couldn't do even that. Because my feelings were twisted" 😭
A Reum and Seung Eon 🤔 I might be on board with this. 2nd tallest dude after ML 🤡 And she is so tiny. 1.88 to 1.58 🤣 Like... wait... they are adorable 😭
So if I had to guess when Gang Hui's mom had some complications with her pregnancy and told Gang Hui to get the dad. The dad was busy helping/saving Yeon Su's mom. Then again her resentment makes sense. Her brother died, because her father was busy helping others instead of taking care of his family. Whenever it was intentional or not does not make much difference. As again... up till now we have not seen Chun Pil directly protect Gang Hui against others...
Glad others can relate to my thoughts in the review tho :)
But 100% yes for the murderer 🤣🤣🤣 like this was so fucking dumb. He is in no place nor position to now stop him so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The healing is for sure needed. For both of them. Honestly, FL is in a better position than ML. She needs to deal with just her past, while he needs to deal with his present too (the mom 😭)
a lot of thoughts after first 4 episodes 😅
Starting with the romance. I can understand how on the surface some people would like to see the leads to under up with second main leads. Here's the thing thought - I honestly think they could not be in a long lasting happy relationship until they deal with their past traumas, connections and give it a proper closure. And for me that closure would in fact lead to them ending up together. Because the issue between them is not "them", but it's each one of them separately. If they deal with their own insecurities and heal, there is no reason for them not to be together and they obviously love and care for each other deeply.
Gang Hui needs therapy. That's obvious. She is deeply insecure. She was in the past embarrassed about Yeon Su liking her, not because he was embarrassing, but because she felt not worthy of his love. And it still is like that in present timeline. For her, her love for him is not "worth" the problems and pains their relationship would bring to Yeon Su. At the same time he is such a vital part of her life she cannot fully let go. I honestly love how complex her character is. On one hand she is deeply insecure, but she is also confident and proud of her work and skills she has in that area. Her past is dragging he down so bad and emotionally breaking her. You can seem as the most badass bitch ever with all the success you can imagine and then you meet your past bully, the family member who abused you etc. and the safe bubble of professional and strong identity burst so quick.
Also, Yeon Su is not perfect. He has a massive burden he needs to address - his mother. We don't see it now because that's not what the plot is focusing on, but his unhealthy and toxic relationship with his mother WILL ruin all and every relationship he might have in the future. He will not be happy "only if he moves on from Gang Hui". While Gang Hui is insecure, Yeon Su lacks assertiveness and a healthy dose of egocentrism. He is not assertive with his mom, nor Gang Hui, he does not ask the questions he wants to hear the answers for, does not say what he wants. He hints... but never digs deep to actually get what he needs. Like... ma dude, you are NOT dating Nan U. Why won't you clear the misunderstanding Gang Hui has? Dude tries to win her... in the background... behind her back... when she is not looking 🤡 So what is he waited for her for 10 years... that's exactly his issue. He waits... and patiently looks after people from afar. And acts only as a reaction to something that happens. And is so quick to back down.
But he is also just a flawed human being. His relationship with his mother is painfully relatable. Does he need to cut contact with her so she can get her shit together?/ But with how irresponsible she is and living with abuse person, there is an honest chance of her dying without Yeon Su's support and protection. And it is NOT his job to support and protect her, but at the same time the idea of your parent being harm when you know you could have done something could eat him alive. Honestly tragic and shitty situation.
The character I get the least right now, but I also kind of like is actually Gang Hui's father - Chun Pil. What is his deal 🙃 He is borderline neglectful father. But then we see the flashbacks and he is actually so caring and emotionally available whenever Gang Hui needed. But maybe the issue was the fact he created for Gang Hui the safe bubble around him, in the motel, but did not really fight for her outside of it? That I don't know, since they did not really show much of it. But that would be my first guess.
Seok Gyeong is everything. I am so fucking obsessed it's sad 🤡 I need me one in my life asap. I love everything about him. I have ZERO complains. I also have a delulu wish he would end up with A Reum. They would be such a cute and adorable couple I cannot. For me their energy would match so well 😭 I love how he is a rich boy, but he is also so caring and empathic and understanding and patient. But not melo boring, but cheeky fun.
As for Nan U - holy shit she is pretty. Personality wise she I like her a lot too. Really energetic and kind. But they did not show her enough yet for me to form any strong opinions. Also, am I the only one would thinks she gives similar vibe to
Kim Go Eun in her earlier days in her career? lol
Park Esther and Hwang Jeong Gu are such a positive representation for women. Driven, strong, but also fun and humane. I like how they are not this cold lady boss type.
Cha Seung Eon and Ryu Han U and AMAZING too. Honestly that scene when they were making pancakes with heavy equipment was so funny. Boys be boys in the best way possible. I was impressed with the skills too. I appreciate how while they disagree with Yeon Su and his feelings towards Gang Hui and vocalize it, with actions they support him. It's not thing to make your opinion clear to your friends, it's another to then abandon them because of that disagreement. I love how they are still there for him no matter what.
Han A Reum is my baby girl. She is so adorable. I want to see more of her. I am still living in that delulu lend shipping her with Seok Gyeong 🙃 They "interacted" literally once 🤡
Visually the show is STUNNING. Tone is far more light than I imagined after episode one. The poster, description, tags - everything gave me melo-depression. But it's a lot more fun. They know the views need so fun and light moments to truly enjoy the depth and deep. Otherwise I would just feel exhausted watching 😅
Anyway, the drama is honestly a positive surprise for me 🔥
We've got solid relationship progression now that she knows who his daughter is. She is also more open to simply being curious about him. We got a solid dose of family shit - not just ML and his child, but overall family themes going on with the kids being bullied for having one parent, and FL chatting with Byeol about having one person who loves you being enough. And we also had an interesting office drama with the fake/not-fake bag.
All the main genres being presented in more or less balanced way - office, romance, family/life!
Eun Woo painting Byeol's nails and then she painting his pinky in pink 😭
I also feel so validated watching this episode lol I kept saying ML is basically a nanny to FL, and this ep even he said she is not much different from a kid 🤣
I just want to point out, I always hide my initial comments under spoiler, you could just scroll past it, but you made a conscious choice of opening and reading it 🤡
And here's the question - if someone every episode complimented how good and well paced the romance is, would you tell them to focus on other aspects too, and that their compliments are repetitive?
Dramas are not "you either hate them or love them". Some are fine, end up being 6.5-7.5 type of a watch and it's all good. This drama is like that for me. I like some things, I dislike some things.
The same way people can compliment the drama about one and the same thing after every episode, I can criticize it about one and the same thing if I don't see the improvement.
