On My Dearest Part 2 Nov 18, 2023
what a journey it was.

sure, I had some complaints I named in the review, but still. I sold my soul to Gil Chae, she is my queen and I regret nothing in my life, coz all the small decisions and choices I made led me to watch this drama and be bless with witnessing the perfection of the writing her character was.

Review Today's Webtoon Spoiler
Really interested in your take on Shin Dae Ryuk. Did you not like how easily they handled his trauma?
there were two major aspects I disliked about how his story was carried:
1. How fast he got better taking into consideration how severe his issues were.
2. How they made the mother a victim and he was basically forced to forgive her, and how they tried to justify her abuse towards him.

Thoughts after episode 6 and the preview:

1st of all, look at this. Jin Seo Won starts to have some personality and Eun Woo's acting gets better πŸ˜‚ This dude just needs to pick more vibrant characters.

2nd of all, THEM EYEBROWS! Eun Woo should quit that high school boy hairstyle and get that hair out of his face!

3rd of all - if I need to be a manipulative dick asshole trash for Eun Woo to slam me against the wall - so be it, I'm entering my trash villain era.

Title Past Lives
How were they supposed to be more thoughtful? I think it was probably portrayed more in a healthy way than I have…
The alternative is also have that chat with the old friend in the bar alone, and then have a honest conversation with the husband about it later. But all she did was being all lovey-dovey in front of the husband, and then they never had a real conversation about it after. She never truly had a proper conversation with the husband about this situation. Not only that, when he was vulnerable when they were talking, she literally first answered - well I ended up with you, so it is what it is, and only after few more sentences she finally said she loves him. This whole situation was: I made my bed, so I'm sleeping in it, but I also cannot wait to move to a different house and sleep in the bed I really like Β―\_(ツ)_/Β― That's kind of the message - that this live is just a small stop in their story, and they hope to reunite in the next life.

i don't know... maybe her not ignoring her husband and figuring it out right in front of him in that bar would be a great start? This whole scene just made me extremely uncomfortable and was a great way for me to start disliking FL Β―\_(ツ)_/Β―

Ryang Eum romantically loves Lee Jang Hyun? Did I get it right? That’s why he did what he did in the first season???…
yes, he is gay and he is in love with Jang Hyun. It's in official character description that he prefers men over women,

Title Moon in the Day Spoiler
Here's the thing... I get why she desperately screamed when he was dying - she has some trauma and needs constant reminder that the "guardian diety exists". So I don't think it would matter who was dying, she would have the same reaction. But that hug after he came back alive? This just seems weird and there for the romance sake, when it's rather illogical overall.

damn i was scared the silly idol would be back after the warrior passed out lol
fuck... i was hoping he got healed, but the cancer is still there πŸ₯²

I guess My Dearest just makes me in mood of angsty shit 24/7, but I don't want this drama to go light comedy. I want it to be angsty, it's a perfect set up 😭😭😭😭

Okay so... directing wise, I think like they should have start from her killing him in the forest and not show anything else from the past. I dislike how they showed all the important moments that happened, and now they will just bring back the longer versions of them. I feel like uncovering them one by one would be more satisfying viewing experience.

THE PAST STORY IS SUCH A GOOD TENSE ANGSTY ROMANCE I NEED IT!

omg i feel so bad for the manager. that bitch gonna gaslight the shit out of him πŸ˜‚ He is basically taken hostage hahaha

ooooofffff..... the not matching lip movement with dubbed scenes 🀑

I don't know... There are scenes i am obsessed with, and some that I just strongly want to skip coz they don't grab my attention. Overall, I am for sure more interested in their past story πŸ™‚

+ DAMN HE LOOKED HOY SITTING NEXT TO THAT PIANO! πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

I usually skip the intros even while watching episode 1, BUT HOLY FUCK THIS ONE IS BEAUTIFUL!

I love bloody beginnings! Thank you. Also, how big was the budget that they were able to film a decent looking bigger size fighting scene like that? Also, damn they be showing impaled heads... oof. With this beginning... it's going to be hard to ship the main couple. But I also have no idea what's the plot coz I did not read the synopsis, so who knows.

wait... what is going on? These short scenes of her trying to kill him actually happened... and now he dead? fuck this pacing is too fast for my brain, it took like 1 minute to tell whole of a drama story hahaha Also, this is NOT a spoiler, I'm 8 minutes in episode 1. It's barely a set up, but damn...

Omg this was such a confusing opening sequence of scenes. Coz that what it was, not an opening scene, just a sequences of many scenes showing many moments... and while I can kind of understand vaguely what's up. It's HELLA FUCKING VAGUE LOL

Well, I already love FL, doing chest compressions to save the dog πŸ‘πŸ»

Soon Kim Young Dae will be knows as the actor who plays actors πŸ˜‚

damn... here;s the thing. you cannot open with intense and interesting past story with blood, gore, death, angst, revenge... to then move to a fluffy silly modern times rom-com... 🀑 You cannot show me a badass male lead with awesome fighting skills all covered in blood, to then switch to him being a complete wimp in present times πŸ™ƒGive me a full length drama based on the past. right now. it looked so awesome πŸ₯²πŸ₯²

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait... is the ghost of the badass male lead going to possess the wimp present time male lead's body? Coz I'm all in for that hahaha

the more scenes from the past events they show, the more I want to watch THAT DRAMA! Give me that historical one right now!

OMG HE DID GET INTO THE BODY OF THE WEAK ASS IDOL! NOW I AM ON BOARD! LOL
On Moon in the Day Nov 1, 2023
So my viewing experience fluctuated a lot during that first episode. First of all I was a bit hyped because I like the cast a lot. Then they opened with a fucking awesome bloody fighting scene, historical setting, hints of angst as fuck love, betrayal, revenge - all the good shit. Then we've got the the present time and since the FL seems fun I was still on board. But the moment they introduced the present version of the male lead I was like πŸ™ƒ and wanted to go back to historical setting right away. But then the ending got me hyped again, A LOT! That's such a good scene to end the episode on.

I can kind of sense where the plot will go. I'm just praying the focus will be on the badass and not the wimp version of male lead. I need it. I can sense how good the romance will be if they go that way. And judging on which name is listed first next to the actor, it will be the case 😍

I'm not sure how I feel about the opening sequence tho (I don't mean the intro, that was BEAUTIFUL), but the first few scenes that set up the plot and the context for the historical part - it was soooo.... chaotic. I get that they don't want to reveal all the story, but damn they either showed too much or too little. Coz you can get the idea of what happened so there is no true anticipation and questions left, but at the same time, they skipped through all the scenes and important moments in a matter of like 1 minute - it's like getting a whole picture, but drawn in a shitty way πŸ˜‚

For a more chaotic reaction as I watch the episode - check comment below 🀑🀑🀑

Title A Good Day to Be a Dog Spoiler
The most important conclusion I've from this episode:
Eun Woo with hair up > Eun Woo with hair done > Eun Woo with hair done to the side

Why does she have the best chemistry with the student πŸ€‘πŸ™ƒπŸ’€

So after this episode, I am starting to worry even 14 episodes is too much, with how the pacing goes right now. I honestly think that with plot as silly as this, the drama should be more dynamic in presentation, but in episode 4 I feel like maybe 30 minutes were of a true value. Sure, the interactions between the mains are adorable, but I feel like there are not enough of these. Also, for sure not enough Lee Bo Gyeom. I feel like his presence should be felt and obvious, but instead we just get reminded he exists every now and then...

What a fucking great educator omg 🀑 homophobic bitch....

"I find people like Ms. Yada more disgusting" YAS DAN! First schooling the bully about leopards, and now calling homophobes disgusting!

Ana for sure gay. But he has a lot of internalized homophobia and he vents his anger on Nai.
Proud of Nai too, for calling bullshit out for the first time, asking what's wrong with being gay.

I'm quite impressed with it so far. They are doing amazing job with keeping the balance between the supernatural mystery and the exploration of the characters' personal stories and backgrounds. Giving right amount of the information at the right time. The way they are building up the story gets me curious - what is the connection between the shadows? What are the shadows truly? But at the same time, I am anticipating the character development from Nai and the forming friendship (and maybe even more) between him and Dan. What's more? The show is visually BEAUTIFUL!

I always find it funny how short the shorts in school uniforms in Thai dramas are, coz in Poland you would be kicked out of class if you showed up dressed like that. Maybe not from all classes, but some teachers would for sure be pissed πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Also, Singto always going back to high school - forever a teen 🀑

These 3 bullies look so weak even I would not be scared lol I am sorry, but they look like a joke. But sure, let's say they are intimidating πŸ™ƒ i can already feel the mental gymnastics I'll have to do watching this...

THERE IS NO FUCKING HIERARCHY WITH LEOPARDS YOU DUMB BITCH, THEY ARE SOLITARY ANIMALSπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
It feels as if I'm watching darker supernatural version of SOTUS lol Singto yet again playing the hero against the bullies.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS! OMG JHSHDGFDSFHDS WHEN SINGTO SAID LEOPARDS USUALLY STAY IN SOLITUDE OMG YES MY BRILLIANT CHILD! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Dan falling asleep on the second sentence the teacher says - MOOD!

Bish... you said you saw the shadow since you were a kid... so, just with that, it cannot be the teen who disappeared. Unless all spirits show are shadows, but we also know it's not true, because the dude standing behind you two of you in the room was for sure not just a shadow like figure.

Okay, now a proper thoughts on first episode:

Solid introduction to the supernatural elements and the mystery. I am genuinely curious what the shadow is and what it wants. I think they did a good job with setting up the tone - heavy, but not too heavy, good breaks with some background characters that act like teens with their silly behaviors. What's more, I like the hints of the social commentary that might happen. Obviously, they will dive into some "good old" homophobia, but with how utopian a lot of Thai BLs are, this is actually refreshing and needed.
