I know some people said that it's out of character for Jang Hyun to just grab the princess like that when she threatened Gil Chae, coz he is more cunning than brute force, BUT I think he is 100% sure he has nothing to win against the Princes with just his wits. There is nothing he can do with just his charms and being convincing etc. He is 100% on the losing end, and the only thing he can use is threatening her life.

I assume now the plot will be Jang Hyun trying to send Gil Chae back, and her refusing to leave.

I love them so much. How they are joking about the silly past - it's both so cute and yet so tragic. How Gil Chae had to mature so much in such a quick period because of all the hardships. But honestly, Jang Hyun also changed and matured a lot - being more honest about his feelings, more sincere, more straightforward.

Not gonna lie, the whole convenient way out of the moral issue of her leaving her husband by making him abandon her first... it's convenient, but I also do not mind. The Officer was written in the fashion that it makes sense he would abandon her, so it's not out of character behavior just to solve an issue, but at the same time his whole existence was there just to be that moral issue... and now the issue is solved... the the source of the issue itself 🤣 still, I just need Jang Hyun and Gil Chae happy, so whatever, I buy it.

I feel like only now Jang Hyun truly starts to understand at least a bit Gil Chae's situation and reasoning she had for marrying the officer. How now he said that she has husband, father and siblings - that she was never as free as he is to leave, and she has more things to consider when making decisions. While the decisions she makes still hurt him, I feel like he understands them more now.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS THEM MUSCLES! Also, this scene is literally the reason NGM lost weight lol To have more defined muscles for that scene. We were all deep how the was depressed and lost weight coz he missed Gil Chae, but the realistic reason is the actor had a shirtless scene hahaha

I am curious if Jang Hyun gets it's not about her not loving him, but not allowing herself to act on the love she has. Because it's a big difference.

Another situation where no matter what the prince would do, the king would be like: "sus". That's the thing with paranoid assholes - any choice will be the wrong choice. Prince can go to Joseon? sus. He is too close with new king. Prince does not go to Joseon? Sus, he wants to stay in Qing and is too close with new king. < legit for sure that would happen.

The princess is a typical clueless bitch tbh. Coz she likes Jang Hyun, so she wants him to love her back. BUT she is not confident and competent enough to actually make him fall for her, so her tries to just force him to be with her, possess him, but she is also not self-aware enough to know it would not make her happy at the end at all. Girl needs some time to work on herself...

So pain... but also, Jang Hyun is doing what Gil Chae did to him in the past. Saying something cruel to make her leave with no regrets and hesitation, exactly how Gil Chae wrote the letter saying she does not love him enough, because that was the way of him leaving with no regret (which he told her himself, but also we as viewers know was bullshit lol). THIS WHOLE SCENE IS LIES AND PAIN, BUT IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE, BUT I STILL HATE IT HERE 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

fuck.... that one obstacle she was able to let go and rationalize, that even tho she is married, she can stay because she owns it to Jang Hyun and her own husband abandoned her - and now Jang Hyun invalidated both - she does not won him because they are nothing to each other, and she is married she should have some shame about staying here with him. fuck... being married and a wife are obviously big deals for Gil Chae and the only way she was able to stay was to find objective reasons why it was fine, and now Jang Hyun took it away from her.

Honestly... I kind of wish for Jong Jong to stay. I want them to be sisters and loyal to each other, but I also want Jong Jong to think about herself. I want them to feel more equal - Jong Jong's relations and feelings are just as important as Gil Chae's. The idea that it's obvious she will leave coz Gil Chae is leaving... I want them to have at least a chat about it.

THIS PAIN IUS SO GOOD OMG THE TALKING THEOUGH THGE DOOR SCENE! ALSO THE WAY HE TELLS HER TO FORGET ALL THE SUFFERING IN SIMYANG WHEN SHE JUST TOLD THE PRINCESS THAT THE TIME SHE SPENT WITH THEM AND FARMING IN SIMYANG WAS THE HAPPIEST TIME IN HER LIFE! 😭😭 I LOVE THIS PAIN!

I still believe Jang Hyun does not fully understand Gil Chae. I know that him saying she should live flashy and glamorous life, the one that fits her, was just him saying he wants her to be carefree and happy again, but damn, episode 2 of pt1 she already told him that she wants a steady and calm normal life with a person she loves, the opposite of what he wishes her 🥲🥲 ma dude, she obviously would not mind doing the work, and living day by day a mundane life, as long as she is with the person she loves.

not watching the preview. i enjoy the pain as it happens, but do not want to know the shit i need to go through next week 🤡

1st conversation happens as he goes to her with the thought of confirming she is not all that as people say, coz he saw many women like her. It's literally just bickering with no content.

2nd conversation was Gil Chae thinking he was waiting for her, when he was not. Literally just that. Him saying he was not waiting for her and her being delulu thinking he was.

3rd conversation Gil Chae went to him to convince him to help her understand Hanyang men. It was more of a business transaction than chat. followed by all Hanyang scene - where the teasing slightly started.

All the beginning interaction had no sincerity because they did not know each other. These were just random interactions.

After that it was full on teasing or even lines that show he is not interested in her. Like when he laughed on the boat saying he is not affected by her, because he met a lot of women and he is not like the naive scholars.

The first interaction they had that had truly any romantic intention was after he caught her trying to kiss Yeon Jun, and it was 100% teasing and suggesting they should be basically friends with benefits ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The "come to me" would sound romantic if he meant being in a relationship with idea of getting married, but that's not what he meant. He meant having some fun together.

so you either are watching a different show, or you don't quite remember how the scenes went in pt 1.

Most of these moments were when she was not watching/seeing. And the tiny few that he showed in front of her were usually sandwiched between flirting and teasing and playful jokes, and that's the issue. We know exactly what Gil Chae thinks since she says it in episode 1: If a man makes you confused, means they don't really like you" < and this is how Jang Hyun made her feel over and over again 🤡

Ahn Eun Jin is such an acting queen. Her performance is so heartbreaking. She truly deliveres every fucking frame. Emotions are so raw and sincere. We don't deserve to witness this talent on screen.

WE ARE FINALLY GETTING THE FUCKING BACKGROUND STORY I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! Jang Hyun did not take a break since birth... fuck me. Give this dude a second of happiness. How did he cope? I could never. I would yeet myself out of existance. Bitch is strong, I am not... 🙃

WAIT... the child is Ryang Eum... and the big bro is Jang Hyun... omg. I am dumb hahahaha They already showed it in last episodes with the flashback. So Ryang Eum was abused (probably sexually too, from the looks of it) by his master, and then Jang Hyun killed the man when he was torturing Ryang Eum... Okay... I can totally understand Ryang Eum's obsession and fixation now... We knew he was abused and Jang Hyun saved him, but we never truly knew the extend of it.

Of course it would be the Joseon Princess to acknowledge Gil Chae's contribution of saving the little prince. Women have brains and use them in this show 👍🏻

JONG JONG! 😭😭😭😭 Just seeing her makes me happy!
Here's the thing - I love how this drama constantly shows that kindness is being rewarded. Now with the mother stopping her son who wanted to assault Jong Jong and go after her. And it never feel preachy. These small bits and moments always feel so moving.

I LOVE THEM SO MUCH! I LOVE THEM MORE THAN THEY LOVE EACH OTHER 😭 One could think it's impossible, but that person must not know me well enough, it is possible. I am capable of impossible when I get in my obsession zone.

THE WAY SHE SLAPPED HIM AFTER THE SMOOCH! OMG I LIVE FOR THIS, IT'S SO CUTE I AM DYING! I love them. Seeing such a great supporting character having some more focus on them and their adorable love story that up tillnow was mostly just the background - AMAZING

Honestly... I had to pause. I feel like I'm gonna be more moved and more of a crying mess with Gil Chae's and Jong Jong's reuniting than her and Jang Hyun's 😭 They just have such an amazing bond, I love this friendship. They are truly each other's family.

yes... I did cry more. Honestly... I just love all the interactions relating to Gil Chae, Jong Jong and add Eun Ae to that.

The way Gu Jam and Jang Hyun are scheming how to keep Gil Chae and Jong Jong 🤡 Gosh, this silly teens in love vibe is what we all needed. We needed this tiny break to heal a little bit before we face all the villans, bitches and pathetic assholes again.

And then Goo Yang Chun is also in on it. I love this clownery. I am so happy they are all acting like idiots. Brings back memories from episodes 1-2 of pt 1. The good fun times 🥲
And we eve get a jealous "cat fight" between Gil Chae and Ryang Eum... yes. YES. The fact this is their problem now. Who will help Jang Hyun who is faking being injured. THIS IS THEIR PROBLEM NOW! 😭😭😭

Listen... i lost any hope I will ever laugh again watching this drama. I was HOPING for maybe a sad smile. But this episode... is so full of fun and jokes and happiness and I am laughing and crying and having a mental breakdown because of this unexpected happiness 😭🤣😭🤣😭🤣

I really like Yeon Jun as a character and I find his journey and character development one of the more interesting ones, but I cannot take seriously his nose bleed coz he was writing for too long after witnessing all the shit Jang Hyun and Gil Chae went through 🤡

hm.... are they hinting Jang Hyun is the son of Yeon Jun's new teacher? 🤔

Can I love Gil Chae even more? Now she is using what she learned having her own bussiness to help farmers in Simyang. I also love how no one asked her to help and work, it was her decision alone.

Gil Chae is so beautiful I want to cry.
Also, this is exactly the future I want for them - peaceful life in a tiny community where everyone is helping each other and living in harmony while enjoying their daily calm lives. I am so ready for my hopes and dreams to be crushed 🤡

Somehow you managed to make me feel bad for you. But also god bless this show for being REALLY CLEAR he is in fact in love with Jang Hyun. There is NOTHING vague here. No one can say it's just brotherly love etc.

Ryang Eum burning his flesh willingly is a good metaphor to us willingly watching this show even though it causes us so much pain 🤡

I KNOW RIGHT! Yes, she was genius, but she was also a child and the clash between these two traits of the character were amazing. Like.. when she tired to rationalize many thing, but at the end the emotional side of her still affected her actions

Don't know how long his sentence was, but seeing how there were many aspect that showed him in positive light (never hurt Ro Hee, protected her, helped with investigation, turned himself in) I'd say it was greatly reduced.

Nothing happened ot Byeol. From what they told us, her cognitive abilities are lower than her peers and it's the same so far. Dr Mo is not investigating the clue that Ro Hee gave her - hence she travelled to Singapore. Who the girl is who looks like Ro Hee? No idea. Maybe a twin, maybe a clone? They left us with no answers.

I adopted Ro Hee as one of my fictional children. Love her so much. The detail in the writing of her character was everything I could ask for!

i read spoilers from the novel and I'm honestly not happy with majority of the things that are going to happen, for me pt2 is sadly skip 😅

Knowing what will most likely happen made it easier for me to decide not to watch season 2 😂

i don't even mind the actions he took, but it's annoying as fuck how he kept claiming he loves fl and she is/should be his priority, while he kept prioritizing everything else over her 🙂

oh knowing what's to come in the story I am 100000% sure it's going to be a war. if things go real bed, the comment section might e even turned off lol
