There's no one talking about this... It's understandable why they removed the BL in this drama. This drama includes stalking, blackmailing, bullying, suicide where teenagers are involved and it might get considered problematic/toxic/bad representation if they added BL to it. (I remember some people complained about My Lovely Liar because they tried to make the gay character as the bad guy and in general, people hate it when the gay character dies since it makes it a stereotype).

But at the same time, I think the gay part might not really be removed since the male lead told his friend about revealing his "true nature"? There's no romance so it's not BL, but there might still be LGBT aspect in this drama. (Also in the original novel, correct me if I'm wrong, but the romance is between the highschool boys until the original boy disappeared and then came back to his body at the end. For most part, it's the 47 year old gangster who fills up the plot so there's no romance to it).

This is just my speculation and let's just see what happens next. But so far, this drama is doing good at building their friendship and their relationship is doing well. It's also good if a friend is being supportive to his gay friend (once he comes out).

This drama actually has a big potential to explore more... I would love to see a version where teenagers/kids are the participants. I feel like that won't be violent and it would be just fun. Of course, we can't be sure since children can also be evil, but it could just be some petty fights. It would be nice to see a light and innocent version of this game. I'm also curious about the viewers who watches the show and the operators who give them objects from behind the scene. I'm so interested to see their point of views and I hope they could make a spin-off about it.

PS. This drama is based on a webtoon. I haven't read it, but there's probably many more stuffs happening there?

The fact that you mentioned stanford experiment! That was REAL life and any person who gains power can go so far, just like what this drama shows. Building an unstable society where only few people are trapped inside, it's already dangerous.

The fact that they have the same 5 year time skip! The ending was so unpredictable and it amazed me so much. So basically, Gwiju is similar to Ant Man who got stucked in the Quantum Realm for only minutes/hours and then when they came back in the "present", it was already 5 years ahead in the future. For Gwiju, he could've died and stucked in the past, but his son saved him from tragedy and brought him to the future. It's actually a unique superpower. It's so cool but at the same time, it's very risky (I can imagine him being like Thanos where he could change the world lol). I would love to see a Season 2 with their son as the main character and how his family will handle him.

I noticed some kdrama fans has been complaining that kdramas are always dark, but now you have this light drama with a simple plot and likeable characters. It's an actual pure romcom without any side genres. It's highly recommendable if you want an easy watch to enjoy. I'm glad there hasn't any evil characters and I hope they keep up the comedy in this drama.

PS. If you don't like romcoms, it's okay. But there's always those type of people who will trash on romcoms because they want to show they have superior taste lol. So far, I'm glad the comment section is positive.

Honestly, I thought I won't like this drama since it looks like a typical cringy romcom. But unexpectedly, I like this drama. It's a pure romcom with a satire twist. It's overdramatic yet delightful. The characters, humor and special effects are so cute and funny. The comedic aspects makes me happy. This drama is such a good vibes.

PS. I also like how this drama isn't shying with adding sexual innuendos lol.

Honestly, the most disturbing part in this drama is the relationship between and male student and female teacher. She's so disgusting. She's literally sleeping and beefing with her students. She's the type of person who didn't live out her mean girl fantasy in highschool so she came back as a teacher to relive it. In some parts, I didn't even care about who's the murderer since I just want the teacher to get exposed and arrested.

And then... I like the plot twist. I feel glad that it turns out she's the murderer. It made it easy to arrest her. She deserves to be locked in prison!

But at the same time, it still feels unsatisfying and wrong since she didn't got arrested for being a pedophile. It looks like the rich family and school tried to hide that crime...

Actually, since this drama is about a prestigious school with rich kids and bullying, I thought I was gonna be annoyed about it. But while watching, I unexpectedly enjoyed it. It's not really that dark. There's a murder mystery part, but I like how this drama has more romance lol. It's not just a puppy crush romance, but a passionate romance which is rare in kdramas. It feels new and exciting. The angst and sexual tension is crazy. They just gazed at each other and it's enough to make me smile. This drama is atmospheric and I like the vibes it gave.

This drama definitely has flaws and I didn't like/root for the main lead couple, but overall I still like this drama since it's refreshing and cool for a typical highschool drama.

I like that even though this drama is about bullying and gangsters, it's not really dark. It's still fun and enjoyable to watch. I had my suspicions about the friend with the bullying, but I'm glad he's not bad and his friendship with the male lead is doing well. He still has sociopathic tendencies that kinda creeps me out and it looks like he's suffering from something that developed due to his father's abuse. (Anyway the actor's insults in English sounds sexy and it made me smile so much tbh 😂).

I also like that they toned down the bully and the "boss" male lead is taming him. I was glad that he seems to be joining their friend group, but he's still a trash and he even has the audacity to leech off the male lead. He's not even remorseful and he should be punished for his bullying. It's disgusting how he thinks it was just funny. He needs to learn more lessons and apologize soon.

Overall, this drama has a great bromance and action. I hope these 3 boys will continue to work together to fight against the gangsters.

I just watched ep 1-2 and this is a good drama. Usually, the bullying victims are poor kids, but in here it's a rich kid so it feels refreshing. I love that he's trying to improved himself and he finally uses his resources to make his life easy. Also, it's so satisfying how he's talking and fighting back against the bullies. Yes kick their a**! It's so cool that a gangster took over a bullied student's body. But at the same time, it feels weird that it's a 47 year old man. There's a scene on his consciousness where they interacted and I'm glad how the gangster feels like a father figure to the student who helps him out.

Honestly, I kinda find the male friend annoying. He seems smug and cunning. There's something suspicious about him. This is just my theory, but why do I feel like he has a part on the bullying. Like in other dramas, those masterminds who doesn't do the bullying in action, but plans the bullying behind the scene. But I also hope he's not that bad, he could just be resenting the male lead.

One of my favorite scenes is when the male lead starts being bestie with his female classmates. It's so funny. He's trying to fit in with them, but at the same time, he acts like a father who takes care of them.

"The 8 Show" is an incredible and mindblowing masterpiece! It's definitely one of the best kdramas that deserves more attention and high ratings. The storytelling, concept and format are so unique. From entertaining, shocking, disturbing, moving, thought provoking... Watching this is a crazy remarkable experience. Just wow.

At first, I really enjoyed it that I even thought this is the game I can manage to join. It's only about living simply and saving up resources while earning huge amount of money. Despite their hierarchical structure, I love how the characters have a good teamwork and it's fun to see them uncovering the game. It's exactly just putting a "show" to extend the points for their time and money. There's no death or sufferings involved... Until it took an unexpected dark turn that made me really mad to the point I was holding back my tears. It's so unbelievable and unbearable how cruel they are. Each characters have their own nature and complexity. There's so many twists happening that it also felt like I was losing my mind. But at least, I'm glad the ending was a bit happy. They learned their lessons and grew their the bond. This drama gave me overflowing emotions.

It felt like I was inside a theater watching the events unfolding live. I want to give a round of applause to the cast and crew for creating this brilliant drama 👏

The original ending of the story from the book is that Hwan succeeded on saving them all and ended his time loops. But only Jeha feels indifferent so it still leaves with an open ending/cliffhanger.

Nope, the episodes are exactly an hour. If you check the titles and synopsis of each episodes, it exactly matches with each other (https://kisskh.at/discussions/blue-sky/125233-titles-and-sypnosis-of-each-episodes). It wouldn't work and would've turned different if they cut the scenes and duration.

And now, it kinda looks like the Ep 13 is titled as "The Begins..?" based from Seo Jihoon's vlog, which also match the synopsis after Ep 12 where Hwan begins his time loops.

This drama did many changes that also includes mixing up some events. But I believe it's only their first life and original timeline before the time loops. I really hope there's Season 2 so they can show what exactly happens on Hwan's time loops 😂

Actually, there are chances for Season 2:

1. The storyline is still not complete and there are parts that they need to answer and continue. Especially about Hwan's time loops.
2. The initial news was this drama has total of 24 episodes but they only released 12 episodes. So the other 12 could possibly be for Season 2.
3. There are several scenes in the trailer that weren't included in the drama. They wouldn't add deleted scenes in the trailer in the first place since this drama ended filming since 2021 and it took them a long time to prepare for the release. Those scenes could possibly be shown in Season 2.
4. Noh Jonghyun mentioned about hoping for Season 2.
5. During filming, Seo Jihoon had a cake that says "13th Episode The Begins..?" which might be a spoiler for the drama's continuation after Episode 12's finale where Hwan begins his time loops.

Of course, these are just speculations. But having this many signs keeps up the possibility...

I know everyone has their own theories, but why do I find it annoying that many people in Twitter are believing that Hwan was doing his time loops throughout the drama? 😭 This drama is an introduction to the characters and their backgrounds. It shows their original timeline and the build up of their storyline. It wouldn't make sense if Hwan is already time looping just on the first time they met each other and even before their lives unfolded. He only gained his time travel ability after they fell into tragedy. The purpose of his time loops is to save his friends. Anyway, if there's Season 2, that's when his first time loop is gonna begin. Manifesting as always 🙏

Honestly, huge age gaps with more than 10 years is so weird. But it's okay as long as the younger partner is on their late 20s. In this case, Ye Junghwa is 36 years old while Ma Dongseok is 52 years old. They're both grown adults and it's their own life. I'm glad they have a good relationship and the fact that his partner has always been with him since his lowest times proves that their feelings are really genuine. Congrats to their marriage!

I don't know since I didn't watch that drama. In my opinion, huge age gap, especially 10+ years is weird. But it should only be illegal if someone is a teenager.

Yeah that's why I said "+". I don't really find their visual gap since KSH has chubby cheeks that gives him youthful/cute vibes while GYJ has sharp features that gives her mature/classy vibes.

He made me smile and amazed again in "Chief Detective 1958". I love how even in small roles, his character is complex that showcases his acting skills. He must be so smart while choosing his scripts or he must be so lucky to have a good agency that gives scripts for him.

I can't wait for the future when Cho Hyunjin leads on his own drama. He's full of potential and I can see him being a big hit!
