tysm for explaining!! it is now clear for me: this is such a good story wow!Can you explain why it is inspire…
BTS has a fictional storyline that continues through their music videos and short films (I Need U, Run, Prologue, Wings, etc.) and then it expanded to webtoon, books and game. And now this drama is an adaptation of their storyline, but it has additional details or changes from the original.

About their parents/adults backstory:

From the original book and game, there were 5 students who are friends, it includes: Hwan's father, Woo Hyensung (they changed it to Byeon Woonjong in the drama) + 3 other boys. They used to hangout at the detention classroom when it was a music classroom before. But a bad incident happened which involved the principal. 1 boy went missing while Byeon Woonjong got admitted in the hospital. Hwan's father tried looking for the missing boy and that's when his time loops began. But he failed which made him lost his memories. After it, he also lost his mind and got worsen as a person.

While in the drama, they changed it to only 4 students in the scholarship program, it includes: Hwan's father, Jooan's father, Cein's mother and Byeon Wonjoong. It looks like Hwan's father and Cein's mother used to like each other. But a bad incident happened which involved the principal. I think he's the one who assaulted Cein's mother. It also looks like the principal manipulated Hwan's father. That's likely the reason why Hwan's father failed on his time loops. He sided with the principal, backstabbed his friends and also seems to have a part on their tragedies. In the end, Cein's mother is suffering from depression and constantly suicidal while Jooan's father was also suicidal who turned into alcoholic, he doesn't trust anyone and afraid of being alone to the point he gets violent. I think they were traumatized of their past incident. While Hwan's father forgot about them and grew into a corrupted politician who is still continuing his ties with the principal.

Byeon Wonjoong is the dead man on the beach. He talked to Jooan's father that he died several times. He was also stuck in time loops and might be the one trying to save Cein's mother from the fire incident. But he failed so he forgot his memories and also lost his mind. He's the one who wrote the diary/note about the future events of the boys.

The mistakes and tragedies of the adults are unfortunately being passed down to their children. And now, it's Hwan's turn to do the time loops in order to save his own friends and not make mistakes like what the adults did. The big difference for Hwan is, he has friends to support him unlike his father who was alone when he did his time loops.

Please they need to make Season 2 🙏

This is a type of trauma porn, you have to be deeply sick in the head to enjoy watching this type of deliberate…
The point of this drama is that despite their problems and hardships in life, they find happiness and hope through their friendship. They're trying to overcome it by helping each other.

It's disgusting how you're ignorant and mindlessly hating.

Guys I finished the drama and I have some questions:Who killed cein's mom? Was it really a suicide or?What had…
For Jooan's father, he's actually part of the friend group of Hwan's father and Cein's mother in highschool. Something bad happened in the past where the principal is involved and I think that's when Hwan's father was given the ability to time travel, but he failed. It seems like he sided with the principal and backstabbed his friends. That's one of the reasons why Cein's mother is depressed and constantly suicidal, so is Jooan's father who turned into alcoholic. He is still traumatized from what happened in the past because he thinks he's in danger after being left alone by his friends. While Hwan's father already forgot his memories about them.

But that suspicious man stopping the fire and instructing everybody is definitely seo jihoon tho 😭
This is also the confusing part. The figure looks like him, but if we go by the storyline, it's not Hwan since his time travel doesn't go back that far. It's more likely Wonjoong Byeon who's instructing them since he wants to save Cein's mother on his own time loops and then he wrote the notes to help Hwan on his own time loops for his friends later.

You're welcome. It's really confusing but I think the obvious part is that Hwan is still not in the time loop when he first met the boys since their storyline is still starting/building up. Season 2 is needed to show what happens after his time loops attempts.

There's a theory spreading in Twitter that Hwan is already in time loops throughout the drama, but I disagree with it. I believe this drama shows the original timeline of the first time they met before Hwan was given the ability to time travel. That's why it's a prequel to the Save Me webtoon.

In the intro scenes of the episodes, it's centered around the fire incident of Cein's mother and how the other boys are involved to it. The time loops are happening there with a suspicious man. It may look like a younger guy, but I think it's either Hwan's father or the dead man in the beach (Wonjoong Byeon) who was one of his friends in the past. Actually, Hwan's father did time loops in the past to save his friends (the students in the scholarship program) but he failed so he lost his memories. While Wonjoong Byeon revealed to Jooan's father how he died several times which implies that he also went through time loops "recently". The purpose of the adults' time loops is to save their own friends, which includes Cein's mother. That's why he planned to prevent the fire by using the boys and giving them orders. But at the end, Cein's mother still died in another way. Everyone involved in that fire incident forgot their memories since it failed (Jooan also met Cein before but they don't seem to have a clue, like everyone else). It's impossible that it's Hwan since the fire incident happened a year before he arrived from the US. During the finale, it exactly shows how Hwan went back in the past on the day he first arrived in Korea. (Then the title card appears, Begins ≠ Youth changing to Begins ∞ Youth with the infinite symbol which means his first time loop is now only beginning.)

While for the diary/note, it exactly shows that it's owned by Wonjoong Byeon. So this concludes that Wonjoong Byeon is the suspicious man/time traveler from the fire incident and he went through multiple time loops, where there might also be a timeline where he followed the boys in their future that's why he knew their fates. He also wrote about Hwan as the "Boy of Fate". I think he's trying to help them since the adults failed, including himself who has gone crazy after his time loop attempts.

In the original book, Hwan found the diary of his father. But in the drama, Jeha found the diary of Wonjoong Byeon. That doesn't mean Jeha has the same time travel ability as Hwan. But he is aware of the events happening and timelines changing. While Jooan has the ability to see the future on his dreams, but he is unaware of it at first. (Jooan's father was also friends with Hwan's father and Wonjoong Byeon in the past.)

There's been many changes including mixing up the events in the drama. But in the original ending of the book, Hwan succeeds to save them all and ended his time loops after finding his "Map of the Soul". But something is still wrong with Jeha because he thinks Hwan did something bad to him and he feels indifferent from the group. Due to his confusions and suspicions with the events and timelines, he is stuck in a wormhole. Apparently, it seems like Jeha also tried to make a contract with the cat (the "being" who gave Hwan the ability to time travel, but it was only a voice and nothing was showed in the drama). Overall, the BU storyline is not really complete and still leaves with an open ending.

Due to Hwan's time loops, there will be a new timeline where Jeha stays at the hospital while in a wheelchair. I don't really know how this drama will add it, but I keep on hoping that Season 2 will happen so they can show and explore more about Hwan's time loops along with the new timelines.

Especially from his father. I guess that was his breaking point 😢
Yes this. Cein's father was actually supportive of him, but after he got reported to the police by the principal, he started doubting Cein about his mother's incident. His only family turned against him. That was what triggered him the most. It's so unbearable 😭

I love all the 7 main characters, but my most favorite is Hosu while my least favorite is Jooan. Sometimes, I find him annoying because of his temper 😂

All the 7 actors did an impressive job, but Jung Woojin who plays Jooan stood out to me. He portrayed his complex character so well while conveying explosive emotions. Thank you to the perfect cast! They truly suit their characters and made them come to life. They deserve all the love and recognition 👏

I despise the relationship between Jooan and his father. I know Jooan is innocent and he's a victim of abuse while forming stockholm syndrome from his father, but it's still disgusting how he's blindy attached to him. His father don't deserve any sympathy.

Honestly, I was really annoyed when Jooan brought his father to the home of his mother and sister. That was a dumb move. His mother literally run away and did everything to hide from his father, but he just wasted it and easily gave way to his father. I understand he wanted to make things right between his family, but there's no way his abusive father will suddenly change overnight. He's literally the one experiencing his violence and his sister also got attacked. They are better being away from him. Their father is scary and Jooan should've left him alone instead of being sad about it.

But anyway, Jooan rightfully stabbed him to protect his mother and sister from a monster. At the same time, it was more accidental since he wasn't really in his right mind due to his hearing lost and anxiety. He immediately called the police, but the scene of his arrest and interrogation wasn't shown. If there's Season 2, maybe they will show more parts in there? I really hope Season 2 will happen so Hwan can save the boys from suffering tragedies, that they didn't deserve in the first place.

What were the motives of the bad guy in haru's storyline I don't get it.... so one day he decided to kidnap and…
He is a psycho playing mind games with Haru. He is torturing Haru in that way.

Since Haru witnessed him, he expected Haru to report to the police. But Haru didn't, so he kept following him to make him suffer more. I'm not really sure about the parents, but if the parents knew about him (like he also exposed himself to them), then they probably paid him to shut up instead so he can leave Haru alone (evil parents protecting their son in the wrong way).

After years, Haru finally remembers and gains the courage to face him and that's when his game of "Hide and Seek" ended. He's still a psycho who wants to take credits of his crimes, so he voluntarily turned himself to the police since he succeeded on his game. He's sick af.

one of the actors (Dogeun) is serving in the military, I dont think it'll happen anytime soon...
A part of me thinks they already filmed Season 2 since this drama was originally announced with 24 episodes but they changed it to 12.

But if they haven't, then I really hope they can find time for the filming. Most importantly, I hope the production is actually planning to work on Season 2.

When will the time loop start? Or will there be multiple seasons.
Hwan's time travel starts at the ending. His time loops will continue then in Season 2 (if there is, which I'm really hoping).

I'm crying so much and my heart feels so heavy. This drama is so emotional and painful with how everyone has their own struggles and darkness. But the genuine friendship between them is so precious and it's the ray of light in their lives. I hope they overcome their problems. They deserve happiness.

As expected, this drama leaves with a cliffhanger. Hwan's time travel indeed happened at the ending. The last scene may look happy, but it's only the beginning of his time loops where he will save all his friends and prevent them from their tragic fates. That's why Season 2 is needed to continue the storyline of their new timelines. Please I hope they make it happen!

Is this series have time travel concept ????And second is it really sadseries abt problems??? Only problems nothing…
It's actually already showing their fun parts as the boys first met and bonding as friends, while also showing their sad parts with their own individual problems and family situations.

It hasn't shown in the drama yet, but in the original, the time travel will happen 2-3 years later after their friendship breaks and they get separated from each other. That's when the tragedies will happen to the boys and Hwan will try to prevent it by going into time loops.

Yeah, this drama is more like a prequel/introduction of BU. It takes place at their highschool days before they get separated while also giving more details about their backstories and parents' past. This drama only covers the HYYH part. It looks like the Save Me part will only start at the last episode. If they decide to make a season 2, they can continue/expand the BU storyline.
