I enjoyed the cinemetography and the action scenes. I am still early in the plot but I can sens that the hidden polical reasons behin all are interesting. I will get back to you once I have watched more of it. ^_^

On the first hand. I am sorry if the facts listed here from the drama don't please you. But they are rock solid because it is taken directly from the drama.
This is how the plot develops.

On the other hand. I read that some MDL members said that even the Writter declared that she built the character of XL first.
So if you refuse to believe even the writter herself. I am deeply sorry.

I am sorry if listing the facts presented in the drama makes you think about dillusion.
I don't base my understanding on hypothesis or conjectures.
I only mind facts. So, as evidently you don't believe what your eyes see. I am deeply sorry.

The drama itself oppose this dellusion. Maybe we did not watch the same drama than them.

This is not a second male lead syndrome.
This is exactly what happens. TSJ is a second male lead and he gets the Female Lead in the end. Nothing to do with the fans. that's the plot.

Yes I agree. When she discovered fanfeng Bei, it all over again the same slow motion, music , close-up ... In a word, the re- introduce a male lead filmically.

I kept hopping though.
I don't know what happened to the general that XL impersonnated at the very end. Was he killed or did he flee?
If he was able to flee, I would have loved that XL could do the same with XY (-__-)

I totally agree. Visually, sonically, and in the acting. All aspects show the love story between XY and XL.

I would dare to say that, this is not random that TSJ asked XL to stop the wedding. This is his way to strategically eliminate FFB from the social network of XY. Making it difficult for XL to meet her in the future ( from the plot point of view)

But symbolically, this is a way for the writter to make the audience understand (subconciously) that the only man worthy of marrying (before all the upper-class society) XY is XL.

This is why the arrival of XL in XY's wedding is so romantic and dramatic at the same time.
It was a climax for me as a viewer.

Yes exactly . I was discussing it with @TaliaToo and she made me realize that :
XY lost XL forever and never realized that she was in love with him. Moreover, she kept the doll with the mermaid orb within it. But she is oblivious of the love gift that the doll contains.

So XY lost XL forever.

Yes, I did not read the novel. But this is clear to me that this is a star-crossed love story between XL and XY.
After the exposition scenes, the story beggins when XL meets XY. ( right after we understand that TSJ is not just a beggar. [ at the military camp] This is where his character becomes significant, we see that he is a 9 tailed fox)
And the story ends with the demise of XL.
