As for any clips narrating a sad ending, this is normal practice.
Crews always film several ending to protect the secrecy about the real ending of the show.

It is rumored that, for the last episode of FRIENDS, 5 alternates ending were filmed. In fact, they finally admit that they only filmed one. The goal is to keep the end secret until the airing.

If you remember, the crew members who leaked the clips (misleading fans and creating controversy) were scolded by director and HR department after the show aired. And they were finally forgiven aand were able to keep ther jobs. Google it. You'll see for yourself.

We just saw Choi Ji Mong (King's astronomer) living the palace passing through the door before. We know that he is going to travel back in time. And Wang So swears to go find her. Following that, this is where the man on horseback+ ecclipse galloping is shown.

The storytelling tells me that Wang So is travelling to meet her.
It is the same man on horseback.

I also like the writting. And I am a fan of the person who never promised anything (*_*)

@cornbread I remember in the begging I ampathized so much with SYR.
Because I immediatly understood that he was forced/ mistreated by Princess Wanning. And that he regreted all the things he did to Xue Feng Fei.
I even remember that I was kindly scolded here in the forum because MDL members asked me to stop pitying him.

The actor (Liang Yong QI)'s rendition of SYR is superb. I want to see him as a Male Lead in another drama.
