I noticed that Bai Lu hasn't worked with many different male leads like other actresses. She's worked with many…
Her last four dramas (Including the one she's currently filming) are with leading men she's never worked with before.... Zhang Linghe, Dylan Wang, Ou Hao and Ao Ruipeng.
And not forgetting Zhang Ruo Yun in Ordinary Greatness etc.
I'm sure there will be many more in the future too. (I think a pair up with Tan Jian Ci could be fun personally)
Her two dramas with Allen Ren are two parts of one story really and was only split into two because of censorship reasons. She worked with LYX again....because she wanted to. She was always honest about wanting to work with him again.
It's not like she's only working with the same ML's. But if she does decide to work with someone she's already worked with again, I'm going to trust it's because it's something that she wants to do. It's not always a bad thing either.
Can someone spoil for me. After the attempt killing at ep 26, do they reconcile? Are there anymore cute scenes…
There is reconciliation later, but it gets worse before it gets better. There are definitely cute and beautiful scenes in last arc. But it stays angsty at the same time. 😅
The 2023 Year End Drama Challenge is out thanks to @annedelavoye.💕https://x.com/anniedelavoye/status/1727081957702656121?s=20Day…
The Longest Promise at times. I was really holding on for Alen Fang. But after a certain point I just couldn't anymore. I dropped it. I might go back and finish it for him at some point but I'm not sure. Maybe I just wasn't in the right mind set for it. It was not long after TTEOTM and I was still very much crazy over it (I still am really haha). At the point it was such a stark difference between the two that I had difficulty getting into it.
I really really hope LYX would make a period drama with Dilraba but that aside does anyone know what drama LYX…
After Follow Your Heart with Song Yi, he will be in Shui Long Yin (no english title yet) A Xuanhuan Wuxia. He's currently filming it so we won't get it until at least 2025. After that....don't know yet.
Each to their own. I felt this drama was miles ahead of Only for Love. In fact your criticisms of LiS is how I…
I think I have to disagree with you. I found Bai Lu and Dylan's characters confusing and childish at times in Only for Love. Dylan's character was robotic and monosyllabic sometimes too. I couldn't get invested in them or their relationship at all because for most of the drama it just endlessly went round in circles. It was mind numbing.
I felt Love is Sweet had more depth. While Yuan Shuai made some very questionable decisions in the beginning of the drama, their relationship became very mature and respectful once they got together, while still being entertaining. Sweet, sexy and realistic interactions to me (With some great kiss scenes too of course) And both Jiang Jun and Yuan Shuai had personalities and goals outside of cliche archetypes. I think individually, they are some of my favourite characters in modern C-Drama. (The main issues I have with Love is Sweet comes from the secondary characters and other story elements)
That being said, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed Only For Love so much, even if I felt the opposite and didn't really enjoy it the way I wanted to. I'm not sure how far you got into LiS before dropping it, but as you watched it straight after OFL, maybe you can come back to Love is Sweet later on and give it another go, when you have had some more time . Or not. As I said, each to their own.
I watched Only for love it's very light and funny, so I was looking for another Drama by bai Lu, but this one…
Each to their own. I felt this drama was miles ahead of Only for Love. In fact your criticisms of LiS is how I felt about OFL. Only for love was incredibly cliche too. I often found it incredibly boring, draggy and repetitive and the script absolutely awful at times. I felt the constant miscommunication between them childish and frustrating. I felt Dylan and BL deserved better. If not for the fact that i'm a fan of them, I wouldn't have continued watching it at all.
LiS was definitely not perfect either, (some cheesiness there and second leads love story was pretty skippable as just one example) But the main leads especially, were loveable and had good character growth as it went along. It was genuinely funny and moving to me, and the chemistry was natural and amazing from beginning to end.
It's so interesting that we can all perceive a piece of media so differently.
LOL Ming Ye's little dragon was inside her. 🤣 It was enough to have her fanning herself by the end. 😜
Or it was related to an inside joke, or maybe a post-production blunder. I know there is a split second where you can sort of see the wiring around SJ's waist in that scene (I think...) So maybe that was it. haha
There has literally been nothing to indicate YL has any interest in Ruyi like that. At all. Not even a subtle…
I could really care less if it turns out to be true, it's not going to change the drama in any way as it leads to nothing. I'd just think it was pointless, with zero hints towards it thus far.
However, maybe you're right and i'm missing it. Can you give me some examples of these subtle hints in their interactions that would hint at this? That way I can go back and watch it with a different perspective,
I always believed it was going to be a SE and the main lead may die. I went into it thinking that before this alleged leak even happened. And It doesn't bother me, especially if it's done well.
it's not just MDL, I have also seen Lester Lin as Ning Shisan listed on Chinese websites too. So, not a 100% credible source, but enough to give me pause about automatically believing everything about this alleged script.
There is also the fact that just because a leaked script says it, doesn't mean it'll happen exactly that way in the drama. I recently watched a drama where I had read the leaked script before hand. They ended up changing it quite a bit at the end.
So whatever happens (including tragic) if it's done well - I don't really mind. and if I think the ending sucks...well, at least the journey was fun.

I would have assumed he meant Yang Ying. Because as I said, if this does turn out to be true and he "likes" Ruyi, they did not show this in their interactions in the slightest, not even subtly. And that would be very poor writing and directing on their part. As someone else said he's been nothing but supportive if not downright pushing the relationship between Ruyi and NYZ from the beginning.
someone leaked the script in China 🤧it is SE for everybody 🥺 this show is a Tragedy genre in US/EU standards
I went into it expecting a SE so i'm not bothered by that at all. Many of my favourite dramas have sad endings. It's certainly no reason to watch with detachment or something to drop the drama over. SE's aren't always bad.
My point is that these script leaks say everyone dies and there is no child. But having a little boy in the cast list named Ning Shi San, seems too much of a coincidence. Which makes me question the validity of this supposed leak.
(I still think it's probably going to be sad, or bittersweet at the least and that doesn't bother me)
I still really want to know what she pointed out to him for them to have this reaction. "Shhh" "oh my god" "Your eyes are so sharp" (I think?) and then "I can't say, I can't say "
I could buy the idea of it being a SE. (I expected it) but if literally everyone dies, and there's no baby. Who is Ning Shi San? The kid in the cast list. One would have assumed that it was Ruyi and Ning Yuan Zhou's son, named after Yu Shi San.
Its a shame how toxic anti-fans can be, over here disrupting this happy and wholesome comment section by spreading…
Even if it does end up having a sad ending, it's not as though that somehow ruins the entire drama. It's still a brilliant drama, it's still doing very well and I don't think that will change. Most of us knew going into it that not everyone was going to make it out alive. It's par for the course with wuxia.
Sad endings aren't always bad endings either. I'm not going to stop watching it just because someone is saying there's a leaked script.
I know there is a longer official clip but can't find it right now either

So if that is what the script or director is trying to convey, they've done an absolutely horrendous job of it . I find that very questionable.
Sad endings aren't always bad endings either. I'm not going to stop watching it just because someone is saying there's a leaked script.
