Heh. This is my post 😅 I had seen other versions floating around but never seen the full video. But it was…
As far as I'm aware they each did three letters for each of the three eras. One for Sang Jiu and Ming Ye One for Tantai Jin and Ye Xiwu after the mortal arc One for Cang Jiu min/TTJ and Li Susu post finale.
The first two were released while the drama was airing, the last one after the finale.
But I could be wrong. I guess I'll keep an eye out, if the mortal TTJ one does exist it'll probably pop up somewhere eventually haha.
I agree! I felt a kind of closure from them too. Each of the letters very much fit what was going on in the drama at that point. Li Susu's letter especially really validated the idea that she's waiting for him and she'll keep searching for him until he returns. As she did in the novel.
Heh. This is my post 😅 I had seen other versions floating around but never seen the full video. But it was…
I do, but they don't have English subs. Youku released the Sang Jiu and Ming Ye one with English subs, but for some reason the others weren't released on the international app. They only released them on youtube and Chinese Youku & without subs. So I'll have to a add subs to them myself. I do eventually plan on uploading those too.
But there was another person who uploaded and translated the Cang Jiu Min/TTJ and Li Susu one on twitter. While it's not the full video, it does still include the letter portion. https://twitter.com/zhaoyaos/status/1658023828654632960

Also found the cang jiumin one and the ye xiwu one but still haven't tracked down the Tantai Jin one post mortal arc.
Yeah I figured. But there were some people here talking and wondering what the age gap was between the characters because of the age gap between the actors. (Some also didn't find it believable for a young guy to fall for an older woman. As though Liu Tao is ancient and not completely gorgeous. And that Liu Yuning was a kid instead of a 33 year old man lol) We didn't know for sure what the age gap was, but now I think we know, it's not a lot at all. ( I personally would have been fine if there WAS a bigger age gap though)
I am so confused by the ending, can someone please explain it to me
It's an open ending so certain things are left up for interpretation. But basically:
After fatally cracking the evil bone, Susu plans on staying and dying with him. Despite agreeing, he uses the heart-guarding scale to protect her and send her back. He knows that the only way to stop the devil god and the all-in-distress way for good is by crushing it completely. It is imbued with The Devil God's essence and as long as part of it exists, he can be resurrected. By destroying it, there should be no way to return. Which is why TTJ thinks it's over for him. It's a true self-sacrifice.
However, the heart-guarding scale saves part of his immortal essence (the purified part, the part that is just Tantai Jin) while the part of him that is the Devil God dissipates. (In the novel it is the tiger demon that salvages part of TTJ's soul) With a part of his essence still within the heart-guarding scale he can cultivate, heal and return one day. Either emerging from the scale as a God (perhaps replacing Ming Ye as the new God of War) or reincarnated in the mortal realm as he is in the novel. Essentially, the HGS does the same thing for TTJ as the devil god's artefacts did for him - providing a means of resurrection.
It takes 1,000 years for him to return in the novel and in that time Susu never gives up hope and continues to search for him. They are eventually reunited. Which is what is implied in the drama ending too, I feel. It is no coincidence that the drama ends 500 years later. He looked for her for 500 years, and she waits and searches for him for 500 years (or more) There is a karmic notion there - balance. So they hint at the novel's epilogue (with the realms at peace, Tantai Zimi, Susu travelling the mortal realm, searching, and part of his essence saved) but the entire thing isn't shown. Very sad, but kind of hopeful in my opinion.
Because it is an open end though, interpretations may vary. They left it up to the audience to decide what it means and what happens next.
After the Demon God's death, we see his face, once his mask has been burned off, which is exactly the same as…
Tantai Jin is the devil fetus - basically created to be the vessel for the original devil god to resurrect himself. A new body that looks exactly like the old body basically.
Huntingtons disease is 100% fatal in real life. So even if they dont end it with her death as they do in the novel,…
I've never seen Scent of a Woman, but I figured it was something along those lines. And If I remember correctly there is a point in the novel that Love is Panacea is based on, where they do have a moment very much like that. And if they chose to, they could just end the drama there. Rather than letting us know what happened/how it happened like they do in the novel's epilogue. 🙏 Wouldn't be the first time Youku got rid of an epilogue! 😜😅 haha.
Either way I suspect LYX and Ruo Nan are going to deliver the feels.
I guess I'm just trying to prepare myself ahead of time heh.
I hope the ending is something like the Korean drama "Scent of a woman"The FL there also suffered from a life…
Huntingtons disease is 100% fatal in real life. So even if they dont end it with her death as they do in the novel, it will still end with the knowledge that she will die one day. So i guess it will still be kind of sad regardless...
I don't think they'll be curing a real life disease in the drama 😅 😔
At least we kind of have an idea ahead of time though, to prepare for the sadness. No matter what ending they choose. Lol.
Hmm..It seems there might not be as much of an age gap between the characters as there is between the actors. He Huan is 36 and Jiang Jun Hao is suposed to be early 30s I think? I wouldnt even really consider that an age gap romance.
I've literally never seen anyone here bashing CDL.....
It was a long and wordy post calling out all tteotm fans for being horrible sexist bullies who constantly hate on CDL. And obviously I can't speak to every single tteotm fan out there, but that's definitely not going on here, not as far as I've seen anyway.
Ah yes, because all these super young, super smart, super handsome, super successful young guys are waiting in…
ReedMery14 already explained the situation in terms of the plot quite well. But I just also want to add - You say "old women" as though the female lead is ancient. The actress is only in her 40's (don't even know how old the character is ) and she is absolutely STUNNING. I would completely buy that Liu Yuning's character would fall for her. Liu Yuning is charming and attractive (at least to me) but he isn't what is usually portrayed as conventionally handsome in C-Drama. He's not a supermodel.
He also isn't super young. He's in his thirties. Not a kid. lol Sure if he was 22 I might have more of a difficult time buying it.
How is this drama? Thought want to support LYN's drama. Big sister romance maybe not too bad I guess. I thought…
I'm enjoying it so far. But I've only watched the first 5 episodes, and the romance aspect hasn't really started yet. But I like the premise, the characters are interesting and I'm enjoying how the leads have been brought together.

It still gets me emotional though... 😅

Hopefully we get more scenes between him and He Huan soon too.
