Thank you for the review! Great Review! Also I would like recommend "Till the end of the moon" to you if you want to see a full scale large battle scene lasting for an entire episode. Luo Yunxi played four characters there, I loved Ming Ye the most.

I understand there is frustration at how certain female characters were portrayed. There is no romance tag for…
Would like to add some more points here;

On December 20, 2022, news broke that Qian Jie Mei was going to be adapted into a TV series led by Luo Yunxi (the rights were sold in Sept).

Before taking the break in 2019, the author had abandoned the novel for over ten years + the author personally said in an interview that why did she even write these characters (QJM) and gave them nicknames, a clear dislike towards her own creation + Teng Ping allowed her other novel's adaptation, Cheng Yi's Mysterious Lotus Casebook, to directly plagiarize Qian Jie Mei. She didn't speak up about it at all. Lotus Casebook drama has plot and relationships that never existed in its source novel, but existed in QJM.

Starting March 20, 2023, news began circulating widely that a TV series adaptation of "Qian Jie Mei" was going to be filmed. And started filming in December, 2023.

QJM began to fill in the gaps.

Shui Long Yin wrapped filming on April, 2024.

Qian Jie Mei was completed on December 12, 2024, the novel was supposed to have 8Vol but somehow was forced to be finished in 6Vol.

The world building in Renegade Immortal is what I liked the most and it’s nothing like the one in Whispers Of Fate. Having read all the 2k+ chapters, I can say that to those keep comparing Whispers Of Fate to Renegade Immortal are just looking like a laughing stock.

Wang Lin had a harem; he had three wives; Li Muwan, Mu Bingmei, Li Qianmei. And had a child with Liu Mei (One of the nine avatars of Mu Bingmei). Can you say that Tang Lici has three wives? Can you say that those three wives of Tang Lici are Zhong Chunji, Xifang tao and A Shui? Because Xifang tao certainly reminds me of Liu Mei.

Let along that, Wang Lin is ruthless as hell, one of the most anti-hero main protagonist. He made several of his clones and his methods for revenge and killing others were too terrifying. He slaughtered hundreds and thousands for his own level-up in cultivation. He slaughtered an entire bloodline and hanged the heads on a cross that was hanging behind him as he flew around with. Killed millions of people and made a mountain of them. He simply didn’t care as long as he could capture and manipulate others into getting what he wants. Can you compare him to Tang Lici?

There is a post about 'Whispers Of Fate- what is the meaning of life'. Will soon update it with the worldview and other details that were not shown in the drama :)

The ultimate question 'Whispers Of Fate' wants to explore is—what is the meaning of life?

If one is destined to be a sacrifice from birth, if countless struggles, setbacks, destructions, and restarts cannot change one's predetermined fate, then does such a life have any meaning? And what should its meaning be?

The exchange between Tang Lici and Zhong Chunji in Ep37 is probably one of the most philosophical parts and one of my faves. This part is so brilliantly executed and also the overall look of Tang Lici and Zhong Chunji are in perfectly alignment with their current state of minds.

The audience could no longer understand Zhong Chunji, but Tang Lici understands her.

“I understand that you meant well, though I didn’t need this goodness, but I understand you, I even know that while you seem to have hurt me, you have hurt yourself too.”

Everything is a combination of causes and effects, a single thought triggering an inner demon. The scene also connected to the exchange between Tang Lici and the Abbott in Ep1, [The wind blows the tiles on the roof.] People become obsessed because of the beauty of flowers. Blame the flower? Blame the person? It's meaningless. The past is gone. Right and wrong, it doesn’t matter. They all get buried with the passing of time and leave quietly with no trace.

The beauty of this flower lies in the fact that it refers to both Tang Lici and Zhong Chunji, and also to the idea that all beings are not truly themselves. At first, Tang Lici says the flower is fleeting, but Zhong Chunji says that even a brief bloom is better than no bloom (referring to her becoming a fake princess), thus urging the flower to bloom. When the flower blooms, poisonous insects fly out. Tang Lici says that no matter how beautiful, if the flower’s heart is poisonous (acting based on desire), poisonous insects will also fly out.

Later, he says, "This flower blooms on its own, and some people find it beautiful and like it, which breeds resentment. Is it the flower’s fault? Is it people’s fault?" (Here, the flower refers to himself.) But actually, this seemingly "poisonous" flower is also beautiful, and someone will always appreciate it. Why cling to the past? As long as it blooms beautifully, someone will like it.
(Here, the flower again refers to Zhong Chunji).

Loved the ending stopppIf any of you are familiar with Dark (German Netflix tv series), maybe you can see some…
You are so right! When I first time read the ending for SLY, only the ending of Dark series came to my mind!

I’m actually not nervous about writing my review. I tend to be a little OCD about that because I just checked…
None of it is easy, but you do it anyway, you matters foremost, everything else can wait. Take care of yourself, I am cheering you on through it all and hoping things will bloom for you tomorrow🫂

She got the best closure amongst the female characters.
我上夜班, 白天睡觉, 所以没关系。水龙吟意从未有过之造梦之作。有一种信手拈来妙手偶得且志在必得的自信悠容感最后在内核上一以贯之:人可以决定自己是谁。I AM OBSESSED!

Have a look at this adorable A Li with Liu Yan and Fang Zhou: https://weibo.com/1916059411/Qeq1mnKoS

Very nice summary! Your words are better than what I could articulate, given I was very sad over those scenes.…
SLY had his personal promise to be different and he did it so masterfully. Rong Qi and Ming Ye used to be my top most faves out of his filmography but now the top position solely belongs to Tang Lici, this character is just very much admired and cherished by me. I am infinity grateful to LYX for breathing life in him. TANG LICI LIVES FOREVER!

Scenes total worth of two episodes were removed from the Tianren realm, I need a Tianren realm spin off, I need…
Lin Yun has no aura and no screen presence in SLY. Her villain costume was good but she had no charisma. Like, Lin Yun began her career as the female lead in a Stephen Chow movie! Kung Fu Hustle Stephen Chow! Her first ever role grossed $588million dollar. Her peers should have been Ni Ni and Zhou Dongyu but in SLY, she couldn’t even compete with new actors. I saw her in "Imperfect victim" where her performance was still somewhat good but in SLY, it all felt down to the point I didn’t even want to look at her at all. I do understand your friends because A Shui is a type of character I myself cannot stand in any form of media, you can see my list, I clearly like romance dramas and also non-romance dramas. Good characterization, plot and acting is always the king for me. Aside from LYX, Jeremy delivered once-in-a-lifetime performance. Would have been great if we could get some more of their scenes.

I agree with the reduction of some of the flashbacks since we had lots of coverd up. You know what, in Ep34-35, we had a big joke that A Shui should just go ahead and burry herself with FZ’s heart crystal😂 I saw someone mentioned "He is *Learning to grieve* is like, he had already learned a lot about all kinds of suffering in the Celestial realm, then he suffered with Fang Zhou's illness and death, with the pain of seeing Liu Yan become his enemy, enduring the physical and emotional pain of carrying FZ's heart... but sure it’s A Shui who teaches him this, ok then😂 the same someone is quite popular among the fans of LYX for all their weird takes. At the end of the end, C-ent is cruel and cannot accept fantasy dramas without romance. Most of them can only understand crappy romance, "Oh he loves her so much, Oh She is a fragile beauty and could do so much for him" and that’s why good dramas are becoming a rarity in C-ent. I literally had to comfort my friends everyday with "pls keep watching it, it’s not romance".

I will definitely let you know if I come across something interesting ;))

I thought Xixi would never bid farewell to Tang Lici just like he never did to Tantai Jin, “Tang Lici will no longer be with you in the future.” NO WAYY! Tang Lici will always be with me, in my heart and in my memories as long as i live🥺

Yes, a real success for a drama is generate massive amount of positive discussion while everyone also enjoys doing it so.

I am in dilleam whether to include the details that were not shown in the drama or not, if I include so then would it make sense with what actually drama showed or come off as out of the place. And If I don’t include them then how to write things down with sense.

Liu Yan tried to k!ll him, put his body in a well. Tang Lici was found by minister’s daughter. Her father adopted…
They mentioned it in the drama, it was before Gui Mudan first approached Liu Yan to manipulate him onto evil path, it must be in Ep32-34, don’t remember the exact one.

Gee... sounds complicated. I haven't finished. Thank you though for the summary.
This is a roughly draft, I plan to break down all the timelines and time travel events in simple words so everyone can understand.
