I’m actually not nervous about writing my review. I tend to be a little OCD about that because I just checked…
None of it is easy, but you do it anyway, you matters foremost, everything else can wait. Take care of yourself, I am cheering you on through it all and hoping things will bloom for you tomorrow🫂
Very nice summary! Your words are better than what I could articulate, given I was very sad over those scenes.…
SLY had his personal promise to be different and he did it so masterfully. Rong Qi and Ming Ye used to be my top most faves out of his filmography but now the top position solely belongs to Tang Lici, this character is just very much admired and cherished by me. I am infinity grateful to LYX for breathing life in him. TANG LICI LIVES FOREVER!
Scenes total worth of two episodes were removed from the Tianren realm, I need a Tianren realm spin off, I need…
Lin Yun has no aura and no screen presence in SLY. Her villain costume was good but she had no charisma. Like, Lin Yun began her career as the female lead in a Stephen Chow movie! Kung Fu Hustle Stephen Chow! Her first ever role grossed $588million dollar. Her peers should have been Ni Ni and Zhou Dongyu but in SLY, she couldn’t even compete with new actors. I saw her in "Imperfect victim" where her performance was still somewhat good but in SLY, it all felt down to the point I didn’t even want to look at her at all. I do understand your friends because A Shui is a type of character I myself cannot stand in any form of media, you can see my list, I clearly like romance dramas and also non-romance dramas. Good characterization, plot and acting is always the king for me. Aside from LYX, Jeremy delivered once-in-a-lifetime performance. Would have been great if we could get some more of their scenes.
I agree with the reduction of some of the flashbacks since we had lots of coverd up. You know what, in Ep34-35, we had a big joke that A Shui should just go ahead and burry herself with FZ’s heart crystal😂 I saw someone mentioned "He is *Learning to grieve* is like, he had already learned a lot about all kinds of suffering in the Celestial realm, then he suffered with Fang Zhou's illness and death, with the pain of seeing Liu Yan become his enemy, enduring the physical and emotional pain of carrying FZ's heart... but sure it’s A Shui who teaches him this, ok then😂 the same someone is quite popular among the fans of LYX for all their weird takes. At the end of the end, C-ent is cruel and cannot accept fantasy dramas without romance. Most of them can only understand crappy romance, "Oh he loves her so much, Oh She is a fragile beauty and could do so much for him" and that’s why good dramas are becoming a rarity in C-ent. I literally had to comfort my friends everyday with "pls keep watching it, it’s not romance".

I will definitely let you know if I come across something interesting ;))
I thought Xixi would never bid farewell to Tang Lici just like he never did to Tantai Jin, “Tang Lici will no longer be with you in the future.” NO WAYY! Tang Lici will always be with me, in my heart and in my memories as long as i live🥺
She got the best closure amongst the female characters.
Yes, a real success for a drama is generate massive amount of positive discussion while everyone also enjoys doing it so.
I am in dilleam whether to include the details that were not shown in the drama or not, if I include so then would it make sense with what actually drama showed or come off as out of the place. And If I don’t include them then how to write things down with sense.
Liu Yan tried to k!ll him, put his body in a well. Tang Lici was found by minister’s daughter. Her father adopted…
They mentioned it in the drama, it was before Gui Mudan first approached Liu Yan to manipulate him onto evil path, it must be in Ep32-34, don’t remember the exact one.
Are u talking about ep 39? If yes, the bigger question to me is how ZCJ allowed this to happen when she knows…
Your interpretation of her also makes sense as why TLC never blamed her but understood her and then proceeded to write a letter to the empress to ask forgiveness on her behalf.
Whispers Of Fate operates in three timelines; T1, T2 and T3.
T1 is the original timeline where Ye Mo killed the seven great masters, possessed TLC, everyone is dead and Ye Mo failed to ascend to Godhood because TLC’s celestial body was deprived of seven emotions.
T2, failed Ye Mo turned the wheel of time in T1 and orchestrated for the future Tang Lici to travel back in time to save Fang Zhou, giving him the opportunity to survive, find the Holy Son and raise him, but Ye Mo was also jealous of this good fortune that he created for TLC, so Ye Mo changed his appearance and played the role of a disciple to TLC, which created a different Ye Mo who could also feel emotions.

It's a pity that so many details are missing compared to the script making it seems like disjointed. I was continuously cursing at the creators for what happened to the plot at Biluo Palace. The entire Bilao palace arc felt like they were deliberately forcing it to sell the CP, which is really annoying. And for once, I thought SLY has lost it but it got back on the track afterwards. A Shui is just insignificant in this drama and to make her significant you need to re-write this character and make the drama centers around her which is not possible in SLY. Nothing would change if you cut her out, Gui Mudan would just cultivate someone else into a tool and make him/her as a walking blood bank around Tang Lici, that’s all.
If her screentime could have been given to Ye Mo and Bai Nanzhu, SLY could have been a real game changer in terms of plot. The characters in Celestial Realm are all so terrific and needed to be explored. The Celestial realm is the most important arc and the actual plot and they chose to ruin that one only by focusing on irrelevant things. SLY could have shown the complete dualism between Ajibaner Tangjia and Ye Mo, they both chose different paths for the same goal and are like a blood ties that can never be severed.

This one the most, after having endured it silently for four years, A Li had finally shouted it out loud and clear😭😭😭
Tang Lici has a sense of objectivity towards the name "Tang Lici". He regards this name "Tang Lici" as an "identity" rather than just a name given to him by Fang Zhou— an identity that ties him to Zhou Dilou and represents his life in Shenzhou.
For example, he repeatedly emphasizes: "Tang Lici rarely makes mistakes", "Tang Lici will never lose", "Just because I am Tang Lici".

They are now busy focusing on variety shows/tours, I don’t think we will get anything, first 18 episodes are draggy and suffered from pacing issues, If executed well, we could easily have all the scenes in it.
She got the best closure amongst the female characters.
Loved your insights. They are certainly helpful and holds volume. Please make it to the discussion above so everyone can know. I am also very much grateful that SLY found you.
They should definitely release something to make the viewers things understand better, they could also release some animated clips explaining the worldview/timeline logics since they have made some brutal cuts right from the most important arc in the drama. I am writing about what question SLY seeks, worldview/timeline logics and a character analysis of Tang Lici/thinking process of Ye Mo but it’s taking forever.
Have a look at this adorable A Li with Liu Yan and Fang Zhou: https://weibo.com/1916059411/Qeq1mnKoS

T3 is the one with complete reset in the end.
