Title Hidden Love
I don’t see a problem at all in a relationship with a 5 years gap. My husband is 4 years older than me which…
It was. Because of the age difference, they had to fight my mother's mother and they went through tough time (they lost a baby, my sister was born mentally handicapped and my mother got sick at 29 from a very rare disease she died from at 37). Despite their age gap, their love was true and strong. My mother passed away 40 years ago. So strange to think how long it's been.

But love can be very strong despite the age gap. I wish people would start thinking about the personalities, who the persons are, how they behave, rather than get stuck on numbers. As I said, as long as the two characters are of legal age and it's a loving and consensual relationship, then I have no problem with these dramas.

Thank you. It was a very long time ago and my father is very old now, but he never remarried. He loved my mother very much.

Title Hidden Love

My father was 11 years older than my mother. She was the first to pass away, at a very young age, when she was 37.

It's always strange, to me, to read comments about age gap either between characters or actors. As long as the characters are adults and it's a consensual relationship, I don't see what the probleme is. There are young people who are very adult like, and adult people who are very childish. So age isn't necessarely the main factor or problem, it's more how the young adults behave. Some remain child like even late in life.

French here. I just watch dramas which summaries attract me. It could be Cdramas or Kdramas. I generally prefer optimistic modern dramas, rom-coms, and modern paranormal rom-coms (a la Queen and I, if you see what I mean).

It's been a while since I've watched Kdramas but out of the blue, there are two I'm watching, this one and King the land. And for Cdramas, I'm not watching anything right now but I have "Hidden love" and "My Fireworks on Earth" on my radar.

Really, it depends on the summaries, for me. If it talks to me, then I watch it.

I remember that actor from that great little drama "Put your head on my shoulder". Is it me or has he lost a lot of weight?

I hope Esther yu got some work done on her acting skill, her goddess character in lbdaf was so forcibly done,…
Yeah, same. I have a hard time with her because of her voice. I am aware it's not her fault but for me, it's hard to listen to her. If her acting was superior, I could get over her voice but so far, I haven't been able to. I'll give this drama a chance, maybe she'll win me over this time.

They keep saying the two races can't be together and they can't have children but then Kaka's mother is Qi and…
Or maybe it was believed to be impossible for years but then the more Qi-Qian couples there are, the more chances there are of children being born, even if conception is rarer. Kind of like homo-sapiens and Neanderthals. I remember when I was in school, decades ago, we learned back then that it was impossible for the two species to have children. Fast-forward 40 years later, we now know it was not true and we all have at least 2% Neanderthal in us (at least among europeans).

Title Warm on a Cold Night Spoiler
Your theory about Han Zheng losing his Qi power by helping Jiu Er and them living to a ripe old age together is…
I hope so too, that there's a satisfying ending becauses so far, it's a great drama. I admit that I would prefer the ending where the ML doesn't become a Qian and stays a Qi, living a long life and sharing his Qi stone with the FL so that she can live a very long life too. It would be my prefered ending.

But I have this feeling that the writers are planting seeds of him starting to like the Qian way of life and not wanting to rule. So from there, it's possible that the FL's illness is cured by him giving her all of his Qi stone, leaving him a normal man. Leading a normal life with her.

But yeah, I would prefer a more paranormal ending with him keeping his powers as a Qi.

Wait and see.

I started watching this drama out of boredom but I find it suprisingly good. The mystery cases are interesting (and moving, in the latest case, I cried when I saw how it ended), the actors have chemistry and we don't know where the long arc is going (with the FL's father, her illness and the ML's Qi friend).

I think at some point, the ML will go back to the Qi kingdom but in the end, will renounce it. He already said that he is not interested in ruling and that he understands why Qi people who are poor in the Qian kingdom stays there instead of going back home: the Qian fandom is more... fun, more colorful, more vibrant.

So my theory is that he will give up the throne and also his Qi stone to save the FL and cure her illness. The result will be him becoming "weak", aka being like any Qian men. No more super powers. And he can grow old with the FL and have children with her.

It was funnier to watch him use his powers. And more beautiful, too, to watch. But in term of storytelling, I think that's where it's going.

No idea... If truly actor's ban was imposed on 315 ( March 15 2022), then the ban could be 1 years, 3 years, 5…
Hi, thanks for your answer. Wait and see then. Let's hope it was a 1 year ban. From what I read, the tax evasion wasn't as severe as for Fanbingbing, right?

Fan Bing Bing has a new movie (a Hong-Kong/China production) released, does this mean that Chinese authorities have "forgiven" actors accused of tax evasion? Meaning, what about DL, any news about him and for him, for his career? And this drama, too?

My thoughts exactly! I laughed so hard🤣🤣🤣 watching ep. 3.
Oh my god, me too! I took a break from watching that episode to see what everybody was thinking but yeah, so far, it's such a funny drama. Sometimes, that's just what I need, something light and fun.

Is it me or is the FL's name a word play on the english word chihuahua, the little dog?

Yes I think so.
So the cop was right, then? When he said that he was surprised at how non emotional she was at her daughter's funeral, how it wasn't normal. That cop has good instincts. I never thought she would be the bad guy, here.

Yes I think so.
The last book, pfff, that's something, time jumps, some of millions of years, pocket universes, end of the universe and rebooting... a bit too much for me. So I wonder how Netflix will deal with that last book, if this one is adapted.

Also... it's a depressing story. I mean, there's life everywhere in the universe but it's a kill or be killed kind of games between civilisations. The better hidden civilisations are the ones which survive. It's a depressing concept.

I will give the Netflix version a try because in general, I like sci-fi, bu more the Star Trek/Star Wars kind. But wait and see, it could be a good surprise.

So far, I'm loving the chinese version of book 1.

Thanks. I didn't know this trilogy but then I'm not into hard sci-fi. I still read the summaries of the three books. The first one is the one which really interested me. The second one seemed okay. The third one totally lost me. So I'm okay with this drama focusing on book 1.
I heard there was going to be a Netflix version too, not sure how they are going to the three books.

Person Xu Kai Cheng
Nobody in the industry will trust someone who records private conversations and uses them for revenge. I would…
They were separated at the time the cheating happened. Once a couple has broken up, both parties are free to do what they want. They could still love each other (feelings don't go away that fast) but technically, not being together means doing what they want. She could have gotten married, he could have joined a cult, it would have been their choice.

Cheating is bad. Recording someone you claim to love who admits to having made a mistake (separated, they were!), taking him back and keeping that recording for later use? It's worse. It might even be illegal.

Who is the most gross of the two?

I would have been on HER side had they been together and he had cheated. And if she had been classy and not do this awful recording thing. I wouldn't trust someone who records private conversations to use later on. I hope I will never meet someone like her in my life.
