Hi..I need some recommendations from you.. based on what i've whatched tell now and there my rating for each shows..…
judging by your rating, i feel like you are more to really good substance/plot. you should watch six flying dragons. after NIF and SFD there hasnt been any dramas that is able to grip my heart as much as those 2. princess agents is good too but not the best if youre looking for good plot. chicago typewriter is really good but a bit slow in the beginning.
Do I need to watch other series in order to watch and completely under This ?
personally i think if you want to understand better u can watch Three Kingdoms first. it covers from the fall of han dynasty to the rise of the three kingdoms and every wars in between and all the people involved in that period.
i cant help but to compare it to 'women in Beijing' which in my opinion is well done. this take for some reason fell short. but still a good watch tho. there are things that i like here better like the closure of the female lead relationship and the lives of her girl friends. just that i was not emotionally attached to the character like i was with WIB.
this is the longest yet the most satisfying drama i have ever watched! among all characters my favourite has to be Zhuge Liang. his loyalty is beyond imagination. also, casting his ruthlessness aside, cao cao is just brilliant. i really like him as a strategist. though i cannot rate this a 10 because of liu bei and the sworn brothers. god knows how much a despise watching them on screen ugh.
It was implied that Ji An did a lot of bad things in the past to pay off her debt. That's why people are making…
NessaNess you're right about the hackers. but it's not just about that. to be short, im not convinced with her spy-like character. everybody else is normal suddenly u have this character that is too good to be true and it's a slice of life drama.
It was implied that Ji An did a lot of bad things in the past to pay off her debt. That's why people are making…
it is because she's so smart that it seems too unreal to me. youre right about the program. i know shes driven over her life conditions. but just what kind of teenager would go to that length and mess with the CEO and directors in a big company over instant money. to be accused of kidnapping an adult and getting lawsuit is not something you hear kids these days do now do you? and they're like what 21? they sure have the audacity. and her movement is so fluid. i have nothing against her just the way her character is portrayed, this super intelligent-spy like teenager. other than that shes fine.
It was implied that Ji An did a lot of bad things in the past to pay off her debt. That's why people are making…
Even to detect the taping requires professionals to do it what more owning and installing the software(which is not free). Its not just some random tricks that peole can pick up like pickpocketing. Sorry i just dont buy to that part of the story.
im glad DH decided to keep the marriage. taking their time off is a good way to bring back what was lost, and divorce is not the only and best option considering they have been married for 20 years. im quite surprised a lot of people were rooting for them to get divorce.
the only problem i have with this drama is ji an's character and the actress. LJA character is a little bit illogical. how can a poor normal girl pull such tricks. if she's from a spy agency then that would make more sense but it was not mentioned anywhere in the drama. and the actress has to be the weirdest character ever. even in real life i have never met people that act such ways. for that reason it's a 9/10 for me
i think yoon hee realizes at the table during celebration when her sister in law brought up about the monk, that DH too is lonely. ofcourse family will have your back regardless of the circumstances but you cant always share everything with your family. we always have that one friend whom we can open up just about everything, and DH had that special bond with the monk then but it was sort of hindered when the monk decided to leave worldly affairs and focus on his spiritual growth. i think (my assumption), that was the reason why he hang out with his brothers and the gang all the time. to fill the void and YH failed to notice that. as shown in the drama whenever DH is in distraught he would reach out to the monk but the monk cant be bothered with worldly affairs too much or he'll get distracted.
Is there even any other American/western drama that has this absolutely insane "real"-touch like this drama has?…
western series are fun to watch but that's just about it. mostly are plot oriented with high production quality but lacks character depth and bland script. Unlike most korean/chinese dramas which focus a lot on real life interactions which is why the characters are relatable Hence, the emotional connection.
i am not at all a fan of western movies/series because of that. i have watched a few, liked a few but not as much as how i love asian dramas (the great gatsby is an exception because that movie is amazing beyond words!). this also happens in novels. they write good stories but it always lack depths to the characters/ plot. my 5/5 rating novels are all asian writers. i guess it's just an asian thing u know. we have superpowers to melt people's heart haha
I got the feeling she cheated because she felt emotionally starved. Dong Hoon tried so hard to provide for her…
I agree. she does long for affection but i doubt she was driven just by that reason alone, because DH mentioned that he noticed JY attitude towards him changed starting from last spring. like JY did something behind his back but doesnt know what it was. that was when my suspicion arise. he must have initiated the move first just to get back at DH
earlier in the drama i can already see that they lack communication in their marriage. it's always one is home the other is not. or if both of them are at home, they are always doing their own thing. they dont sit down and watch tv together or have small conversations at the dining table. i wouldnt blame yoon he solely. why?
because, she still carries her duty as a wife diligently. she treats her mother in law very well, she's also very nice to her in laws. the only bad thing she has ever done is cheating on DH. other than that u can't find fault in her really. her reasoning is understandable because i have seen it in real life and it's a legit reason to even file for divorce. it's so easy for people to say she should've discussed with her husband etc etc but we're not in their shoes to understand the problem. she did mention about DH drinking and hanging out with his brothers but all DH did was say sorry. even she's had enough of his apologies.
from my perspective, i don't think she's they type who would cheat just because her husband prioritise his family above her. i don't see her as someone who latches on a CEO for wealth because she already has a stable career and so does her husband. even if she's a cheater, she can just cheat with anybody but why does it have to be with JY? i doubt she's the one who reaches out to him first. they all were in the same university and in the same club what a coincidence now that JY is the CEO and his senior is now rank below him and is having an affair with senior's wife. when a woman is lonely, she's very vulnerable to sweet talks by other man. yes in this case im putting the blame on JY because he doesn't look like a nice guy at all. i have zero sympathy for him.
the only problem with Dong Hoon is that he's the extremely nice kind of guy. it struck to me when he confronted JY and JY said DH is losing it because his junior worked his ass to the top while he hasn't gone anywhere in the corporate world. this too i have seen in reall life (i guess engineers are like that coz this person is also an engineer XD). the type of person that has a mindset as long as they have the money to pay the bills and feed them by the end of the month than it's ok to be where they're at. this type of person has no life goals. very passive. no matter what people say about him as long as it doesn't affect his life, he will just swallow anything that is thrown at him. DH is very very very passive. how can he just pretend not to know?? im amazed myself. he rarely talk to his wife. even when he hang out with the lot he's just the bystander, while other people do the talking. and he needs to understand he is part of the reason why.
too bad it's just his nature. i hope after episode 12 he will change. anddd i reaaallyy hope they would remain married until the end. Poor DH coz he really love his wife :'(
thats a good point tho, never thought of it that way. but from my point of view, SMY's attitude lead to dissatisfaction…
u sum it up really nicely, they sure do admire each other. also they like to get into each others heads too lol. i see things on different perspective now. thank you for sharing your thoughts and views!
i hardly watch modern kdrama (because none interest me especially the overrated ones) but this one's great so far. got into the drama after watching the promotional clip on tvN without knowing the synopsis/cast, no expectation whatsoever. i did not read the comments/review beforehand. absolutely no idea what this drama is about. i have to say, i was very impressed with the first episode and i was hooked then on. 1 hr 10 mins is a stretch for me (Chinese dramas typically last for only 45 mins) but even so it feels like the time is never enough.
I think he discuss war matters only with his sons because he wants to appear more incompetent than he really is.…
thats a good point tho, never thought of it that way. but from my point of view, SMY's attitude lead to dissatisfaction among generals which then made them disregard his order and went to launch attack. also, SMY already knew of the outcome but still he let them attack. if he had explained to them instead of just saying "we're going to wait for the right time" all this could be prevented and no lives would be loss. in the end, those generals will go to SMY and say "u were right" after a big defeat. even cao zhen was going to admit at some point that SMY was right. i dont see how this made him look more incompetent? because he still win the war and gain people's trust to fight off ZGL.
in reply to your other comment, exactly because he was so passive during war that i felt the war part a little bit too long. in other words, his fight with ZGL doesn't interest me at all. idk if in history the fight with ZGL is as depicted in the drama as in he waits and endures during the war. he was so charismatic in court fight thats why i like him in season 1. they could have shorten the war part because the last 15 episodes were a bit rushed. too many deaths at one time. but again thats just how i see it. people connects to something differently.
I was watching episode 3 and suddenly halfway she was talking about liking him and by episode 4 ithey both kinda…
u should not have dropped this because the dark secrets are not revealed until the later episodes. 5 episodes is too early to even know what's going on. also the infidelity was not solely caused by the partners but the environment they live in (i.e mother in law, loneliness). and choi soo ah's husband did have an affair with her wife's best friend mi jin. also seo do woo's wife background is also the caused for their marriage to fall apart. i cant remember exactly what she did but she lied on something which was a big blow to the family. in the end they all separated from their spouses but both of them didnt get together straight away. they distance from each other for a while before seeing each other again.
it's a nice drama. if u despise this type of drama then dont watch. a lot of people give bad comments because they already instil negativity in their mind because they disapprove of such act. not saying i approve of infidelity but this drama just shows the harsh reality of some people's lives and the decisions they make. i watched this drama in 2016 but it still lingers in my mind every now and then because its too beautiful.
I'am still at ep 33, so can's say anything about the ending, but I really liked the war part. I have read "Three…
i actually watch the three kingdoms drama concurrently with this one and i love the war part, the scheming, strategising. u can see the brilliance of each character. maybe that affects my view on this drama because the characters lack in some ways. the three kingdoms is very well done in terms of the plot and character. maybe just maybe if i hadn't watched that at the same time, i would've enjoyed this as much as the first one (not that i didnt like this drama, but sometimes i dozed off watching the war scene lol).
And that dress part i just dont understand the significance of it because i was not connected emotionally to SMY and ZGL and their love/hate relationship. btw does that scene exist in the novel? because im still watching the drama.
