how did it all come to this? everyone became estranged with each other :( :( there is not one character that i dislike in this drama. even the villains are justified. i feel like i lost my sensibility watching this. is it wrong to feel sorry for the villain? *sobs*
There are times when YX did something unreasonable and i become angry and question his decision but afterwards he goes to QC and pour his heart to explain and my heart melts every single time. i feel terribly sorry for him. even when he smile, i can still see sadness in his eyes D':
honestly, i feel really bad for Yuan Song n Yuan Chun. theyre innocent but got caught in the situation. my eyes got teary by just looking at chun er because the hatred in her eyes is just too deep.
fav scenes from this drama are the execution ground and when chun er knelt and begged YX. it was so heartbreaking.
i think they purposely end it that way to open for season 2. should there be 2nd season please return the cast with better production team. though, i like some of the camera angles and the war scenes were amazing! i definitely see the ugly side of war.

the only part i really like is the first 10 episode and its funny how just at episode 6 i realized that everything in the trailer(which is amazing) has already happened. i was already skeptical at that point because theres still 46 episode to go and i have seen bad drama but with really good trailer because they put in the best part of the drama to make it look appealing. and guess what.... i didnt quite like this drama. the plot is there but the side romance is just too much. theres just too many couples with unnecessary scenes. it would be very interesting if they focus more on brotherhood and just romance between zhang, qing chen and ling and they shouldve extend the previous timeline because everything happen too quickly to a point where i dont see why ling is so head over heels with QC.
andddd the things i like in this drama are ling's real identity and the relationship between xi xie and tao yao. i couldnt care less about the leads romance lol. i read a lot of comments saying that QC should be with zhang and ling should end up with duo xia which is fair because i notice they spend more time together rather than the lead couple. i guess ill stop watching this kind of drama for the time being.
i do not like this drama at all. ok heres why: 1. when theres love triangle in a drama, i always go for first come first serve basis. since jiu ye and xin yue met first so i rooted for them to be together. however i found out hes the 2nd lead in later episodes. 2. xin yue was secretly taken away by wei wu ji and was brainwashed to like him. thats when everything went spiral to me seriously. why would anyone do that. and the girl believed everything told by wu jin ughh 3. i have never seen someone as arrogant as wu jin i swear. when he didnt get the girl he got really jealous and make a fuss but when he got the girl he boast about her infront of jiu ye like wtf dude get over yourself !!!! 4. i can accept that jiu ye lost the opportunity to be with the girl he loves but at least make him lose to someone better than he is and not to a guy like wwj haihhhhhh 5. i watched this after watching nif and i needed light drama to console myself from being heartbroken but this drama made it worse lol seeing hu ge being treated like that.

i just realized that yuwen huai is the same person as zhu yi yang in the starry night the starry sea. i can hardly recognize him lol. i think this is due to his character in TSNTSS that made him look stupid. but in this drama he's serious all the time its like 360 character transformation XD
this drama taught me one thing; on the surface everyone might seem cold with each other , but in truth they care deeply for one another. they're just too caught up with their own mistakes from the past.
this drama is amazing! though it would've been better if they had just focused on cao pi's reign or at least extend the episode. because a lot of events were happening during cao cao's reign that the characters/plot were underdeveloped. some scenes and deaths were unjustified. during cao pi's reign we get to see the relationship between the characters develop and the flow is clearer.

love the relationship between father and son (cao cao & cao pi, sima yi & sima fang), subordinates and emperor (cao cao & xun yu, cao pi & sima yi), husband and wife (sima yi & chun hua, cao pi & zhen fu & guo zhao). episode 40 is by far my fav episode from the drama!
everyone did stellar in this. from the young ones to older ones. from the mains to extras. I love all of the characters. sima yi, bai ling yun, chun hua are loveee <3

yess everything is just right with this drama. only that up to episode 13 I'm still not emotionally invested like I did with NIF. haven't had a good dose of Chinese costume drama in a while!
i have to say tho this drama is too heavy in politics that I'm having trouble understanding the situation. Chinese drama usually takes time to develop the plot and characters that's what I like the most about it but everything is moving too quickly in this drama lol. and why is it that the people just die without any apparent reason? as of episode 13 the pace is just right and I finally get a hold of what is going on. oh and when sima yi and chun hua bicker is the funniest XD
