other Chinese costume dramas have started airing but this one hasn't *sigh*

i dont know why but for some reason i feel like im watching chinese historical drama.

honestly this drama could easily be another action pack and complex drama like SFD. there were really interesting plot/characters that the writer could've developed better:
1. solid vilain, Dae mok
2. history between dae mok and previous king
3. the chief eunuch
4. disputes between the fake and real king
5. the queen

too bad they wasted so much of the drama on romance. idk for some reason i feel sorry for the villains more (i cried for hwa gun and dae mok daym). the first and the last 10 episodes were amazing imo, the middle part was just okay. and i feel like the actors are too young for the role that i cannot take their acting too seriously. they did well with the acting just their looks don't quite fit the characters. maybe if they had cast older actors then i would be more emotionally invested. i enjoyed the drama nevertheless!

finally there's light at the end of the tunnel but usually for good dramas ill wait for it to stop airing to marathon it lol.

@GrnGrnTmt i totally agree with u. i dont recommend wuxia because i know the quality of that kind of drama (i personally dont like wuxia but after watching eternal ive become more open and so ill definitely check fighter of the destiny out haha). and i know that it wont be as good as GoT but as long as the plot and acting is great then thats enough. he's most excited about tribes and empire: storm of prophecy. i wonder if legend of the condor heroes 2017 is equally good as this drama? anyway thank you so much for your reply. really appreciate your feedback!

@krystalsoojungs i didnt recommend wuxia to him solely due to the not so good CGI. even i myself get distracted by it lol thats why i dont watch wuxia. i tried ice fantasy and legend of chusen but dropped it because i wasnt really digging the plot and of course the cgi. thx for your reply anyways :)

@anne ohh no wonder ive never heard of it lol i hardly watch american series. i have yet seen mystic nine. not really into tomb raiding coz ive watched candle in the tomb and didnt quite like the theme.

@anne no i dont know :p well i have never heard of that drama and he's never watched chinese drama before, im just trying to drag him into watching asian historical dramas. and for that i need to find something really good to suggest to him.

@dhaliahn i suggested him NIF initially but he asked if there's a lot of action so i suggested six flying dragons instead to which he like it so much. personally i love NIF but as u can tell NIF is mostly scheming and talking and less action. some people find it boring. now im trying to make him lose his sleep again lol since this drama is currently airing and ive been reading only good reviews so i wanna know if this drama is worth it for him to try

@silvermcv i think a hint of romance is good enough. he's more into action coz he watch a lot of martial arts movies(his fav is ip man). im introducing him to chinese drama so i need really good one with solid plot and action packed, thinking this drama is the one.

Any guys loving this drama so far? Coz i recommended this to my brother and he likes stuff like game of thrones. I dont think he will like it if theres too much lovey dovey scene

i love episode 30 and 31. it shows the bond between two childhood friends, bodyguard and master, and betrayal and distrust between grandfather and granddaughter.

good lorddd i lovee episode 30 and 31 just as u said! HG is so audacious to go against her grandfather like that. i have no problem with LS because i knew he has this bad side of him when he saw CP's gaze on GE and he gave that jealousy look.

i have seen deep rooted tree and i didnt quite like it coz it's too slow and the plot is predictable. can someone pleaseee tell me if this drama is way better. maybe ive been disappointed because i watched SFD prior to these dramas and every bit of it is amazing so im kinda hoping for the same quality hm

when the crown prince called "master dae mok!" when dae mok was about to kill his bodyguard, damn it gives me chill to the bones :O

and when HG barged into the room and slap GE that was so satisfying lol and when she was about to slap her the 2nd time i was like yeaa u go girl XD

does this mean there might be another season? since he's trapped inside se ju's novel. i hope there is. im gonna miss the trio :(
