Either Make A Live Adaptation Properly or Don't Make One At All!!!
The title of the drama itself is misleading. The title promised to be a dark military drama promoting women empowerment, but instead it delivered an underwhelming romance drama of the suppossed to be Female General. The story is lacking in many senses, and even the excuse of the scene cut by censors cannot save it. The entire cast seemed to have delivered the worst performance of their entire career. All of their emotion seemed superficial. But this seems to be the problem mostly of the director instead of the actors, in my opinion. I hope that both Zhou Ye and Ryan Cheng will not work with this director in the future ever. Sorry to say, the FL did not look like a general to me from any angle. She is supposed to be a general, but she was only doing stunts in fancy costumes while delivering empty, big dialogues of women empowerment. There is no coherence in the character of the FL. As a general who is well-versed in warfare, FL should be proficient in making strategies that show her brilliance. But all those nice scenes from the novel were NOT in the drama. Nor is there any character development of both the ML & FL. While it gets a bit better in the middle but gets completely ruined at the end due to the writer's obsession with the 2ML. The 2ML had better character growth in the drama. The overdose of the 2ML ruined the drama for me. The original novel was so nice and beautiful, which was utterly ruined by poor script and direction. As a viewer, I could not connect emotionally to any of the cheracters especially the FL's. The show is seriously overhyped in my opinion. Was this review helpful to you?
Eurocrime with a jolt of Michael Mann's visual design
Given his more famous body of work and especially the title, you'd probably be expecting Men from the Gutter to be another one in a long line of incredible Lam Nai-Choi horror. It is not. Instead, trading the classical Shaw wuxia sheen for street-level desperation, it's an outstanding, gritty, hard-edged action thriller. One that gives a neon-lit glimpse into Hong Kong's grimy underbelly of smoke-filled gambling joints and roach-infested tenements filled with grubby, desperate lowlifes. It's all conceived in a way that combines elements of gritty Eurocrime with a jolt of Michael Mann's visual design. It crams a lot into its tight 88-minute runtime, with excitingly staged action that's rough, pragmatic and rather splat-tastic at points and all complemented by Lam Nai-Choi's own slick photography, intense direction and even a cool cod-Tangerine Dream electronic score. This isn't heroic bloodshed yet, but you can feel it forming in the margins. The characters are defined less by archetypes than by exhaustion. These are men with no illusions left; every alliance is temporary, every moral line negotiable with the cast selling that weariness well. Lo Meng and Jason Pai Pao deliver earthy, impassioned, and downright menacing performances that are far more morally ambiguous than the stoic archetypes they usually played, especially in the quieter moments where ambition gives way to fear or resignation. As a Shaw Brothers production, it's fascinating precisely because it doesn't feel like a classic Shaw film. The studio trappings are present, but the spirit belongs to what comes next. While Men from the Gutter may not be as iconic as what followed, it serves as a raw and compelling bridge between eras. A tough, unsentimental crime film that captures a moment when both its characters and its studio were fighting not to be left behind. Was this review helpful to you?

Must watch Heisei era Kamen Rider show
Kamen Rider Agito story starts after events of Kuuga ends, they have a shared universe, it was supposed to be a sequel to Kuuga, but they didn't go with that but still feels like it's the same world. The show has better characters and has likeable Kamen Riders, an interesting story from start to end. My only complaint felt like Ozawa Sumiko should have been used more than that irritating character, but even then he is less irritating than Masato Kusaka who is the reigning champ when it comes to irritating viewers with their antics.
Story is simple in a typical SMT or persona style Humans fighting God who oppose human evolution or freedom, God is the bad guy, and has two version dark and light, light gives power to humans which dark creator of humans don't like who tries to kill every evolved humans, execution of this premise is done well, never felt bored or frustrated while watching the series despite having 51 episodes which is rare for a Kamen Rider show with more episodes.

Boring
Very slow and boring, a typical ex-sweethearts getting back together but poorly done. The two leads had one facial expression the whole time, I like the FL and I've seen 3 dramas for her with a similar situation where she is denying her love, be that as it may she wasn't that great here.
I don't know the ML and I wasn't impressed, story is slow and I fell asleep twice while watching for two nights, I decided to watch it during the day and still found it boring.
Not saying it's unwatchable, but definitely not my cup of tea~~

Speechless
Watching this season was truly a rollercoaster—from unexpected twists to intense battles for each contestant’s chosen partner. After finishing Season 2, I immediately jumped to Season 5, and I can confidently say that this season surpasses Season 2 in many ways. While Season 2 had its highlights (including some memorable moments from Jinyoung), Season 5 delivered a deeper emotional intensity and a more raw portrayal of how the contestants expressed their feelings. The overall tone felt more daring and emotionally charged.
My favorite couple was Seunggi and Min Gee—absolutely iconic.
What truly stood out to me was Min Gee’s competitiveness. Her determination, confidence, and willingness to fight for what she wants were thrilling to watch. The intensity in her gaze alone made her unforgettable.
The same goes for Seunggi. His consistency and resolve matched Min Gee perfectly. Together, they are undeniably iconic.
The twist in Episode 9 genuinely caught me off guard. It felt like watching a full-blown K-drama unfold. Episode 10, 'pool scene', stood out gracefully. The tension, eye contact, and unspoken emotions were incredibly well-executed and left a strong impression. That scene alone made me appreciate the show even more.
Overall, this season was phenomenal. While waiting for Episodes 11 and 12, I started watching Season 4, but even without finishing it yet, Season 5 still stands out as the stronger season. The chemistry among the contestants was excellent and played a major role in making the show so engaging.
Mina Sue deserves special mention—her actions stirred strong reactions, but undeniably made the season more entertaining. Her final decision felt grounded and satisfying.
Jaejin was a standout personality—naturally funny and very charismatic.
Sungmin had moments that felt overwhelming, but it added to the dynamic of the group.
Sam was steady and consistent.
Hyeonwoo—a learning experience, but growth is part of the journey.
Seunggi carried himself with confidence and style throughout the season.
I Geon truly caught my attention—I hope to see more of him in future dramas.
Hyunjae—perhaps next time.
Subeen also stood out; his presence and charm were impressive, and his journey felt rewarding to watch.
In conclusion, this season delivered strong storytelling, memorable moments, and compelling character dynamics. Easily one of the most engaging seasons so far.

A true enemies to lovers
A true enemies to lovers. My favorite thing about this is that those who needed to die, actually died. There were a few sacrifices sadly like every drama, but I’m happy Xiyang didn’t end up with Emperor of Jinxui and that he actually died. Speaking of Xiyang, when the whole marriage situation started, her childishness was highlighted, and by the end, I think she is the character that had the best character development. From how she was at first, to how she used to emperor to what she became in the end, amazing all of it. The funniest thing I found is how the emperor of Jinxui felt like a wattpad bad boy “you hit me? how interesting, now I love you”, this part was genuinely hilarious.
The main couple 😩. Genuinely what a match, I love that when they met they actually hated each other, I hate stories that romanticize meeting in war, it’s brutal and that’s what made it good. Their acting was good overall.
As always, lots of things were expected like how the death camp was ran by Jingshi but it was still nice.
Either ways, overall, a really nice enjoyable watch.
Technicalities wise, at some scenes, the volume of the music was higher than the sounds of people talking so that tilted me a bit.

A Great Romance Thriller Turned Overwhelming Due To Its Finale
This drama started absolutely brilliantly. There was everything in it from mystery, thrill, romance, and proper relationship development between the ML & FL for me to love this drama. I thoroughly enjoyed the drama until the 11th episode and was utterly disappointed after I watched the last episode. The Argan track felt completely unnecessary to me. The leads had a great understanding between them, so the Argan track did not make any sense (at least not to me). Also, I would have loved to see their proposal and wedding track instead. Though they got a happy ending, I felt something was missing in the last episode. Overall, it was a very nice drama that I loved watching. Was this review helpful to you?
Swagger of Song Joong Ki That Drags On A Bit
This K-drama is a lot different compared to what I'm used to watching. The cinematography, acting, and direction were brilliant for me. But the comic part later on felt a bit underwhelming to me. The story could have been wrapped up easily within 16 episodes for me if the creatives had toned down the unnecessary parts. Towards the end, I was quite impatient. Song Joong Ki was the star of the drama for me. I loved his Swaggar. The villains got their proper karma, and as a viewer, I was thoroughly satisfied. Overall, A very nice and classy drama. Was this review helpful to you?

Interesting premise, in this one Kamen Riders have to battle among each other and only one of them can make it to the end, so it gets depressing in some areas, but can't say it's bad, but the ending is not that great, if there are 50 episodes then they should try their best to come up with a better ending good or bad, after watching this and few other Kamen Rider shows personally feel like they should try to end the series within 25–35 episodes, unless there is something interesting going on like in the case of KR Build don't go for more than 40–50 episodes, because that 10 episodes mostly is a torture to watch, same happened while watching Kamen Rider Zero-one which was very entertaining till episode 40 and felt they should have ended there, instead there were 5 more episodes which was pointless like forcing more battles and unnecessary bad end for one character and story ends with introduction of new bad guy portrayed by a popular actor. Just my personal though on this series, even after going with 40–50 episodes some of the shows don't even have a proper ending, some starts great then slow down badly after 25 episodes. At least Ryuki is better than Kamen Rider Zi-O even with that ending. Some might feel Ryuki is weak or a comic relief sort of character, but surprisingly he rises to the occasion, he wants to stop the battle and save everyone but the battle is set up in such a way it's impossible to achieve that goal, so due to this Ryuki might feel weak or not cool but as story progress he makes an impact on others, also he sort of becomes a punching bag for everyone in the show, despite that he is likeable, even everyone calls him stupid or makes fun of him he never gets depressed.
Also, Kamen Riders use cards to fight in this one, like pokemon they catch a monster and use it to fight for them except two characters everyone else only use one monster. Kamen Rider Ouja is interesting, he enjoys fighting, have no issue killing others even Ryuki wanted to kill him in one episode surprisingly in an episode one girl gets saved by Ouja and those episodes show how the character is more than just plain wicked, so that part was interesting. Then there is Kamen Rider Zolda another character that might seem bad but ends up surprising others with his action sometimes he ends up doing more good than bad, there were no irritating characters in this series, even if some are bad their actions were not irritating, they did what they wanted to. Also when it comes to negative characters, prefer Kamen Rider Ouja over Kamen Rider Kaixa, in the case of Ouja he was bad guy till end sometimes his actions were better than all the actions of Kamen Rider Kaixa.

A Great Watch
Trigger started strong. The actor playing the villain was the star of the show for me. The concept behind normal people pulling the trigger felt interesting to me. The ending, though, felt a bit illogical, but it was what a drama should promote, obviously. Violence should not be promoted irrespective of logic. The story was tight and thrilling for me. I liked the atmosphere that the drama managed to create. Overall, it was a very nice drama. Was this review helpful to you?
A very good light hearted watch
I watched this for the male lead and didn't expect it to be this good. Yes, there were scenes where I disliked how he didn't sahre what he thought to her and also her going behind him for everything. And the relief I felt when she chose herself after chasing him for long time. And also I didn't like the way the senior started pursuing her. He clearly knew she was interested in siyue still went on for her. It's just few episodes of this which annoyed me but every other things were so so good. Can definitely watch it anytime you want. It's worth all the watchWas this review helpful to you?
A Great Cast With An Underwhelming Script
The story started well, but later, as more cases came up, it started to feel deliberate ignorance by the investigators to create difficulties. (Especially the arson case). They had found the face of the criminal long ago, but were deliberately letting him off by not arresting him. I found it to be a bit dramatic and illogical. I did not find it thrilling at all. The only thrilling case was probably the one where they desperately hunted for the face of the serial killer. The promise was good, but the story was lacking in my opinion. The casting was great, and they had delivered their best. Overall, even if I did not love the drama, it was a nice one-time watch. Was this review helpful to you?

This Is How You Do A Revenge Drama
The first season started a bit slowly, and later it was a rollercoaster ride. I binged the whole show on Netflix within 24 hours. The acting, music, cinematography, and direction were just brilliant. Song Hye Kyo was the star of the drama. I just could not take my eyes off her. The casting of the teenager and adult versions of each character was spot on. The only drawback I felt was that FL did not have enough chemistry with the ML. I felt Song Hye Kyo had more chemistry with the actor playing Park Yeon Jin's Husband (Just my personal opinion). Other than that, the story and the revenge plot were brilliantly executed. The villains all got their appropriate karma. I felt very satisfied as a viewer. Overall, I loved the drama. Was this review helpful to you?
