A Star Studded but regular drama

I finally watches this drama after putting it on my watch list for over a year and i was not extremely pleased this was just a regular average drama that happened to cast 2 very famous leads now here are some of the things i enjoyed

1. I loves the very realistic portrayals of burnout syndrome i feel and relate to this so much even if u do well in High school and spend ur every moment preparing for successful it is not guaranteed and u can most likely have an unsuccessful life. The leads struggle with there mental health and their journey of how they found one another in their darkest moments really touched me and is literally one of the only reasons i rated it so high. The portrayal of mental health Depression PTSD was done very well here

2. The 2nd leads were actually entertaining their story as single divirced parents navigating dealing with different gender children touched my heart as we dont get too see this common in Korean dramas

3.The leads academic rivarly and friendship, those flashbacks from high school were so funny and nice to watched it warmed my heart the way they bartered each other was truly the comedy aspect of this drama. And before tehe caught feelings for one another their friendship as Adults was surprisingly very interesting they helped each other and found happiness in one another i dont believe every single connection between men and women need to be romantic and this is an unpopular opinion i would have preferred if they were just friends not that their was anything wrong with their relationship they are several moments which they were adorable but it was just heartwarming to see them navigate becoming childhood enemies to friends

Those things are generally what i liked about the show there is nothing else that made me want to watch it everything else was just mellow and non interesting in my opinion

the leads have an okay amount of chemistry not seething and fiery just a measurable amount compare it to another of the leads famous drama Strong woman boon song i could barely frel him and Park Shin hyes chemistry it felt like a mellow plug. I mean we could imagine they together in a way that makes sense but still ache for chemistry

Her entire family dynamic was just blah i didn't care if there scenes came up or not i would still watch

The entire Case and lawsuit against him was extremely predictable i clocked it from the beginning it was obvious he was framed and i wasn't aching to find out what happened

Thats all my takeaways from the show honestly everything else isnt worth my time to type

A Love Story Hidden in Darkness

Flower of Evil is a very intense and emotional drama.
I really liked the ending because the leads found their way back to each other.

The male lead went through so much pain, and Lee Joon-gi portrayed his character perfectly. Both sides of him were fascinating. The cold, distant side and the caring husband and father.

Even though he struggled with emotions, his actions showed love, responsibility, and deep care for his wife and child. For me, he was a real green flag.

The chemistry between the leads was amazing, and the cast was perfectly chosen. This drama is not only a thriller, but also a story about love, trust, and identity.

Historical elements were wow-- but the story was lacking. Secondary Couple is a must watch!

Overall reflects my subjective enjoyment. Objective? 6/10.

Great and Inn had that initial chemistry, but I'm not really a fan of instalove-- why did they fall in love? Idk maybe I'm just a slowburn lover. Anyways, once the initial chase was finished, they just weren't that compelling to me anymore. It was just so boring... I'm not sure why myself. Everything was so low stakes, and there wasn't much conflict to get me hooked at all. The villains were just so. agh.

However, I did love the secondary couple in this show-- played by AouBoom. Mek and Dech have my whole heart! I would have watched a 6-episode miniseries just dedicated to them. So freaking cute! And wholesome! And their story is much more compelling than Rati and Theerathorn's, as they started out as friends, eventually falling in love and making a future where they could stay by each other's side.

I would only rewatch this for scenes with Mek and Dech. I spent a lot of time post ep 5 just breezing though the main storyline and directly skipping to their scenes lmao

[Enemies to Lovers] [Not too light hearted...not too dark...just right!]

I will have to preface, if you watch this drama thinking it will be the grander scheme of darker politics, overly the top schemes and repeating misunderstanding...it's not. If you love a strong FL, who is smart, understanding, and reasonable you will LOVE Man Man as much as our Wei Shao does! It is about grief, learning to trust, growing, forgiveness, and most of all what it means to have faith and trust in a partner to fulfill a vision. It is a true slow burn love relationship that will absolute melt you like a damn candle. This isn't the heaviest drama that sets in on physical fighting, but more so about strategic war fights that will get you to cheer for the two leads to win. The growth between the two leads are amazing and gradual, you can see when the love buds and how an arranged marriage starts to become more organic and true. The chemistry between Song Zu Er and Liu Yuning is out of the world! 100/10 chemistry, you will giggle, kick your feet, laugh out loud, and blush when these two are together. Liu Yuning and Song Zu Er did an impeccable job playing their roles as Wei Shao and Xiao Qiao.

The side characters I were pretty fleshed out and had their own roles to play into the story. Only complaint I would say is the grandmother's facial expressions were hard to follow at times due to work being done to her face...which can make those emotional scenes a bit more harder to watch. I would rewatch this series over and over!

JimmySea's best chemistry-- yet the storyline was rather lackluster.

JimmySea's chemistry is top tier, and episodes 3-6 were a solid run. However, the show does fall flat in making a coherent storyline with the conflict that we were introduced to in the first episode, making the overall resolution unsatisfying as viewers knew who the main antagonist was from the very beginning, while also being confused as to what the root of the conflict is. The secondary couple were basically flat! Not a lot of development on their end. I believe if they removed the subplot where the ex appears in episode 8 (as much as I enjoyed the comedy), and then cut out all the scenes with the secondary couple, the show would have been able to craft a more coherent storyline.

7.5 is my enjoyment rating, as I am a lover to top tier fluff, but if I was being honest, cohesively speaking, I'd give the overall quality a 5.5/10. Another gripe I have with the show is the lighting, as everything looks so whitewashed and pale-- lacking in color. But nevertheless, I still enjoyed this show quite a bit, as JimmySea's chemistry really EXPLODED here. I thought they couldnt get more romantic than MhokDay, but here I am, proven wrong by ThapIn. They have my whole heart hehe.

The farmers' grit for their land | Her Perfect Husband | Funny and strong spitting game! 擈擈

"Xiuxiu. Don't wait for him. What he can't do, I can. I'm going to make up for all the suffering you've endured." - Feng Dajiao to Ning Xiuxiu

If I were to describe this drama in one sentence. It would be "A production that will not disappoint, in any way or form, from the beginning till the very end."

Finishing this drama left me in total awe of its flawless craftsmanship. The cinematography was incredible as every detail felt intentional. You can tell it was created by masters of their craft who truly know what they’re doing. I have nothing but respect for the team behind this.

I must admit, there was also a time when I got frustrated watching this show—mainly Fei Wenxuan's preachy political scenes. But as time passed, I realized they were for the greater good of all. It made me acknowledge how shallow my views and ideologies were, and prompted me to reflect on my opinions and perspectives on life in general.

My only advice before you watch this is to absorb and savor every moment. Digest every scene, treasure the lessons in your heart, and keep any negative feedback to yourself until the very end. You must, at any cost, see it through to the finale before making a judgment. Because the only time you can truly understand the value of the story is after you have completed it.

This is the type of drama that makes you reflect on yourself and the society we live in today. It leaves me feeling a sense of gratitude that we have moved forward from a destitute and turbulent past into a much more comfortable and peaceful life. Furthermore, I hope this show can inspire everyone to appreciate and treasure life more—because that is what this story has personally taught me.

I totally enjoyed every scene this drama offered. Starting from the beginning where it presented the 360-degree shift in Ning Xiuxiu’s (FL) life and showing how she familiarized herself with, adjusted to, and gradually assimilated into her new status. From there, the story moved from their simple farm life and daily survival to sudden political maneuvers that became increasingly challenging and dangerous. It was a real eye-opener, especially for someone not familiar with the Japanese invasion back then—even though my own country was also invaded and occupied for years. I should say that I now understand where the hatred and disdain towards the Japanese are coming from... I don’t want to dwell on that too much, so I’ll stop here.

Regarding the characters, I feel for all of them. I feel like they’ve been through a lot—so much, in fact.

× Ning Xiuxiu - An excellently written character. I admire her courage and resolve, just as much as I love her open-mindedness and humility. She has been through so much in her lifetime, and I am so happy to see her evolution. My heart is with her as she weathers life alone following Feng Dajiao’s passing.

× Feng Dajiao - The man that he is. Thank you for being the pillar that supports and loves NXX unconditionally. I have nothing but mad respect for him. He showed me how to be a responsible and dutiful husband—one who is selfless, loving, and understanding. Their relationship prospered because of how genuine and transparent he was with his feelings and opinions; for me, that is their relationship's strongest foundation.

"I'm happy. Xiuxiu has a place for me in her heart. I have a home now." - Feng Dajiao

× Ning Susu - I feel the deepest sympathy for the suffering she went through. Her life was constantly fucked up by those around her, and in the blink of an eye, years had passed and she found herself at her lowest point—left out and have gained nothing. Just as she finally found true love and happiness, she was then heartlessly poisoned—along with the person who showed her the true definition of love and affection. Her tragic fate has brought me many tears.

× Fei Wenxuan - I feel heartbroken for him. He was tricked into marrying the younger sister of the woman he loved. Then later on, he was drugged so that he could unknowingly consummate his wedding with her. I admit to having been irritated by him for how seemingly irresponsible and inconsiderate he was, but over time, I just grew to understand that he was acting that way not because he was irresponsible, but because he just refused to act against his own will or submit to external obligations. I may have also hated him for how forceful he was with his political ideologies, but I understand now that he was only doing that for the greater good of all. Nonetheless, he died valiantly, and I just want to applaud him for his outstanding and selfless pursuit of public service.

In retrospect, our leads are simply victims of their families' greed (driven by a sense of responsibility) and selfish desires (believing that what they were doing was right). Although their families' methods are seemingly selfish and irresponsible, I have also come to acknowledge that they were somewhat compelled to act out of obligation and filial piety, rooted in their ancestors' teachings. Above all, I'm glad that Ning Xuexiang had his redemption moment before he died, in contrast to Madam Fei, who went crazy and died tragically, chained by the weight of the obligations placed upon her.

This is definitely one of the most authentic and wholesome dramas I have watched in years. When they feel happy, I feel happy. They they feel sad, I feel the same way. Watching this made me realize how wonderful Republican and Contemporary dramas can be—I've been so addicted to costume dramas that I’ve neglected other genres for a long time.

Lastly, I was genuinely captivated by the beauty and simplicity of living a rural farm life. It gave me a sense of reality for the future I prefer for myself when I get old and am ready to retire. I think I fit and like the simple rural life the best. I love the casual and ordinary day-to-day life.

Story - 10, It was pure, absolute perfection. Everything about this drama was exceptionally done. The story alone deserves to sweep major awards. It was a raw and authentic depiction of how tough the turbulent and impoverished times were back then. The plot and conflicts were well-crafted, and the deaths felt natural—like a natural flow and occurrence of life.

Acting/Cast - 10, I’m at a loss for words regarding how satisfied and amazed I was by the cast of this production. The caliber of acting from almost everyone was incredible. Every emotion was successfully conveyed in a heartfelt manner. The one who stood out for me was Xing Fei—I never expected her to be this good! She delivered a poignant performance; her emotional depth brought a compelling authenticity to the character. She deserves every Best Supporting Actress award she can get. I was more drawn to her character than to the main lead. I also enjoyed Ou Hao a lot here. I’m a new fan!

Music - 10, The overall music gave me a 'Sound of Music' vibe. It was freeing, soothing, and refreshing. It allowed me to enjoy the scenes while feeling lighthearted and comfortable.

Rewatch Value - 10, Most certainly! It was a true masterpiece—the kind of drama you wouldn't get tired of watching, even years later. Truly timeless.

Overall - 10, II wouldn't have it any other way. This drama deserved all the positive reviews and high ratings it could get. I'm not even sure why it's only an 8.1 on kisskh when some mediocre costume dramas are rated 8.2 and above. Geez!

They cannot catch the novel charm

I watch this and feel lukewarm about it, i read the novel before so this drama don't catch the authentic charm. Hao Yun tried her best to get immersed to her role and maybe my comedic code didn't match her. The actual loveline are not having great chemistry Huang Haowen feels so dull in here and he is not suited for comedy unfortunately. Li Jingze is still decent but i dont have any impression in this drama. Hats up to Ma Fayang since he is one who are shine with his character despite lack of screentime, if there is no him i would dropped this drama fast as light. The eat the dog part is so unnecessary.

Psychological Drama not Romance

I will try my best to leave this review spoiler free but provide clear honest information about this drama. What I write today is different than my usual reviews. I am actually advising those who read this that To My Shore should come with trigger warnings but does not.

This was a very well-made drama. Writing was tight. Characterizations insanely good. Side characters were interesting, but none were sympathetic. Music better than average. If you like to watch someone mentally destroy himself and others, this is the drama for you.

As someone who has experienced forms of psychological abuse by a romantic partner, I would be remiss if I agreed with the tag that this was a romance. It was mental and emotional abuse.

The last 15 minutes of episode 15 was a romance
..the rest
.not so much.

The remaining 99.5% of this show is all about how Fan Xiao seeks to draw You Shu Lang into his control. Yes, his original intentions were to break his heart and send him on his merry way.

What proceeds is Fan Xiao’s untreated psychological trauma creating a very unhealthy obsessive-compulsive situation. By episode 12, You Shu Lang realizes himself there is no escape from Fan Xiao’s destructive behavior unless one of them dies (no neither of them die).

I’ll be honest, the abusive relationship was so uncomfortable and triggering, I had to forward over some parts.

Fan Xiao was portrayed by Yun Qi and if he isn’t already clinically insane, he did a masterful job showing what mental illness looks like. According to this website, he is only 23 years old and has done little to no work before this. If you want to see how trauma and too much money can mess you up, watch To My Shore just for his characterization.

Hao Yi Ran played You Shu Lang, the much-tortured main character. He also did a fantastic job. I read another reviewer who had said You Shu Lang worked very hard to make himself small so no one would notice him. That description fits him nicely. You Shu Lang was not weak by any stretch of the imagination. He was a survivalist at heart. No money and no power means go small for survival.

I hated every other character that graced the screen in this show, not a single one had any redeeming qualities, nor were they fun in their “bad” behavior. Only the two leads were marginally sympathetic.

Was this a masterpiece? I don’t know. I hate psychological dramas because of my own past. Why did I keep watching? The two leads were that good in drawing me into their story.

Will I rewatch this?

Only the last 15 minutes.

Should you watch this?

Only if you are NOT triggered by mental and verbal abuse.

Great Journey for a Great Queen

This is not a simple drama.., it’s a journey full of emotions
anger , joy , sadness, satisfaction , tension

Can be your greatest historical drama depends on what you enjoy most.., for me I dont have problem call it my favorite historical drama since it contains all the elements I love in a single drama
great story with a sorrowful tone and them, top tier political thriller and power struggles.., great characters in an upheaval times that understands what they are doing

has one of the greatest villains ever “Misil” and its followers

facing the best character in the whole show “Deokman” we’ve seen her youth until her last breath

tho the drama has dramatic liberties for some characters but that doesn’t change how realistic the drama was

every episode carries emotion with it until you feel sad that you’re going to finish it one day

this kind of feeling tells you how great the drama to you was

my favorite characters :
1- Deokman
2- misil
3- kim yu sin
4- Bidam

there are also many good characters like misaeng , munno , chun chu and his mother
seolwan and all misil children , jukbang and all the hwarang

literally all the characters

if you love politics and wars with a touch of melodrama then this is it

“the best”

Start as an increĂble movie but ends as an average one

Cesar Mariscal (Spain) and Joost Marcus (Holland) were playing the role of Portuguese bodyguards of the Pirate Chief in the Pirate Cave headquarters. We had great time with the main actors, village honorable people playing as extras abd all the friendly crew. This movie was an ambitious proyect to achive the N1 movie in Thailand ever. But production constant cuts became in a mix of qualities. We can see at the end of the movie worsenen the quality of editing and lack of material, with very poor special effects in those years (special effects were added at the end when the production cuttings were severe). All actors and crew reduced their salaries and worked hard beliving in the project. Sadly the movie shows a very heterogene quality, from a superb begining with a good midle part and a surprasing low quality last part. I was there, so it is first hand opinion. All my thanks to all crew and actors as well as friendly director who gave their best for this movie. I have never seen such a cast suportive family before and after. It has been a honor to play a role in this movie, even better behind the scenes with such a friendly and sacrificed Staff.

Comedic, lovely, a drama you won't regret watching

A really fun drama with an unexpected twist. The romance wasn't so heavy but I think I enjoyed it a lot more because it managed to showcase love through actions and the leads' chemistry were on fire. Though, I think it would've benefited from having more episodes, as some scenes were rushed and lacked a bit of explanations. Overall, a well put together short drama, I highly recommend for anyone who wants a nice, chill, drama to unwind down to.

Masterpiece!!!

The show was well written well acted the visuals were spotting. I can’t say enough about this show. It is a must watch GL series, and be prepared to set the bar high after watching. let’s start out with Freen and Becky The chemistry with these two is off the chain Not only do these Ladies have chemistry on the Set you can obviously tell off screen that they care for each other. I know I’m not talking about them being a couple. I’m talking about them as friends. I have no clue if they are a couple in real life, but I’m so happy that they can bring me Such a masterpiece of love and affection on Screen. I just want to say thank you to these two wonderful ladies that can act Sing endings. I also have to say that there are some funny moments in the show. Thanks too Nam Who plays PRIK Nam is hilarious.

Good starter BL

If you haven't watched a lot of Thai BL or don't want anything too mature, this is a great one for you. (Minus the last 2 episodes) Is it a little cringe? Yes. But what romance novel/drama isn't? Is it adorable? Absolutely. Are the actors good? I thought so. I really did enjoy this show the first time I watched it. I think it was one of the first couple I watched. The story is a little dumb, but most dramas are tbh. However, it was still enjoyable, though both my sister and I really didn't like Green's character. He was too annoying. Kudos to his actor for such a good performance ig. As I mentioned before, aside from the last episode or so, they don't really mention sex or anything. Even in the end, they don't show anything at all. I liked that. I get uncomfortable watching Mature scenes. So it's a good, clean drama to watch. I personally rewatched it with my little sister (16), and she enjoyed it as well.
