For me, this is the best drama of 2025!!!
I rarely rate dramas 10 points, but this drama had it all! Excellent directing, plot, characters, costumes, battle scenes, and, of course, great actors! The main couple was simply great... I loved all the 1st and 2nd cast members... Zu Er and actor Yu Ning had such wonderful chemistry, and their relationship, from anger and hatred due to their feuding families, to their gradual falling in love, was simply beautifully portrayed... This pair of actors stole my heart immediately, their chemistry was immediately visible... even if at first their characters were a bit distant, they still had some respect for each other... and then those great scenes of relationship and FL's wisdom, who gradually tamed the menacing and distant general ML, and some of her funny scenes, especially when she got drunk and chased a fan with ML chasing her, were so well done that I laughed and my heart was delighted with their relationship... Most importantly, FL's character was intelligent, but really well-written... she wasn't a capricious, silly, and screaming girl like you usually see in costume dramas, but smart, wise, and most importantly, emotionally mature... she was an expert in various matters and was also able to stand her ground when necessary, but not in a stupid way and with feminist slogans, as is the case in these dramas lately, but in the same way as a woman who is the "neck" of her husband and wisely turns his head. I like these kinds of female characters the most... not the sulky, screaming ones, trying to forcefully shout slogans of women's freedom, etc. This FL character was well-thought-out, and I loved her very much. ML's character is also amazing... at first, the general is furious with the past of both families, eager to take revenge for the wrongs done to his family, but in the meantime, he sees his wife as a wise and intelligent woman who isn't naive, but is also a strong and decisive woman who can defend herself with calm arguments and the truth against his anger... this strong general who, in front of his wife, is at one point helpless as a child... I love these scenes the most, how FL can disarm ML with a single word, gesture, or smile... I won't say anything more, because it simply has to be seen and felt. Bravo to the entire team for a wonderful drama and giving us the pleasure of watching such a beautiful story!!! I wish there were more like it!!Was this review helpful to you?
Loved it! Absolutely funny!
I absolutely loved this drama. It is thoroughly entertaining with an incredible cast featuring Kim Woo Bin and Bae Suzy. Fans who have been waiting for these two to reunite since Uncontrollably Fond finally get their closure here in an alternate universe that feels both nostalgic and refreshing.Although there has been some backlash from certain religious groups, I believe viewers should set aside rigid beliefs and simply enjoy the story for what it is: entertainment. The drama begins lighthearted and funny, keeps its humor consistent throughout, and ends on a satisfying, happy note.
Episode 11 stood out to me. The moment when the characters discover their past lives was especially emotional and beautifully executed. I have seen similar concepts in other dramas such as My Demon and The Judge from Hell, yet those series did not face the same criticism and were widely appreciated.
One of the show’s greatest strengths is its stunning cinematography, especially the breathtaking views of the UAE. As someone who loves Dubai and Abu Dhabi, seeing those landscapes again felt like pure eye candy. The visuals brought back beautiful memories and added depth to the story.
The acting is strong, the production quality is high, and the chemistry between the leads shines through every scene. Even the romantic and kiss scenes are tastefully done, enhancing the emotional connection without being excessive.
Overall, “Genie, Make a Wish” is a visually stunning and emotionally satisfying series that deserves appreciation. It is a must-watch for fans of fantasy romance and for anyone who believes in second chances across lifetimes.

Promising Start But Unfortunately…
I hate to say this, I almost did not want to leave this review, but I have to!First, let me start by saying WHEN I catch the writer and director of this show!!!!!!!!! Because how could they???!!
Wasted such good pairings (Daou-Off-road) and one of my favorites too. What could have been a very good BL turned out to be below average.
Now, let me say this, the bad quality of this show has nothing to do with the actors and everything to do with the terrible scripting.
It is…unbelievable, I’ll say. Especially since the story started out so strong and with such great potential but it got boring quickly and we have the plot line to blame for that.
I will be very honest here… this is not a series I would recommend … unfortunately.

A horrific show that could’ve been a hidden gem
I could write a long review about this show, but I won’t, I could talk about the inconsistent writing or the glaring plot holes, but I won’t.What I will mention is the fact that this show started off a fairly decent romance but morphed into a grotesque and unpalatable dark and twisted horror show.
I know censorship is an issue but they try to ignore the fact that the FL was held in captivity for three years, forced into marriage and became a drug addict. She would’ve also clearly been subjected to extended periods of sexual violence, but we can ignore that for the genre. *roll eyes*.
Truly a horrific story.

What a Messy Journey
Xiao Mingming was a wuxia novel writer who was facing confrontation from his colleague at the office. Frustrated about going forward with his novel progress, he stayed up at night to work on the novel using an AI software and at some point he somehow woke up as the novel’s protagonist, Xiao Qiushui. Although XMM wrote XQS emerging to be a top warrior at the early age of 20, he realized he had transmigrated into XQS’s body before all the many cheat-powerups he wrote for the protagonist happened. The AI software made contact with him and gave him some quite ridiculous tasks, which sound impossible to achieve with his mediocre martial ability, in order for him to exit the novel world. With that, he embarked on his journey to initially find a way out but eventually found himself treading the road to find his self worth. It is hard for me to admit that this time, Cheng Yi falls short from my expectation, as Mysterious Lotus Casebook had been my first show of his and he was superb there. MLC set the bar very high, which tJoL failed to reach even halfway.
First off, I feel that the supposedly familial relationship between ML and his “storybook” family lacked substance that it made me fail to relate to the deep attachment that ML somehow grew for them in that short time that he spent with them after his transmigration, especially when ML was well aware that he was in a mere storybook and trying to get out. The sentiment just looked too fake, same goes to the camarederie that they try so hard to emulate among the youth gang that ML led (dang i forgot the name they made for their group). And since i could not relate to the relationship the screenwriter tried so hard to force down the viewers’ throats, I find all those crying and grief by most of the characters look fake too, their unconvincing crying ability only made it look worse. And it really gets on my nerves when ML turned into a crybaby after his fallout from his brothers. He cries at almost everything when it comes to his family, and those flashbacks that supposed to conjure up the lamentful feeling on the viewers? - Epic fail. Screenwriter tried too hard, showed those flashbacks too repetitively and eventually failed miserably to reach to the audience. Though I can’t speak for others, at least i can speak for myself as a viewer.
The most useless character without any depth is probably the first bro Xiao Yiren. It is quite a shame that the screenwriter decided to paint him as a dense and brainless little fellow when his background made him up to be quite a remarkable person who is supposed to be one of the most eligible bachelors out there. For an elder brother who was supposed to be a role model for his younger siblings, he has no respect and trust for his brothers at all, and would rather believe an outsider than his own blood. He is so gullible and yet showing so much shortfused temper when XQS admitted he was the one who took Liu Siufeng in. I mean, how is he any different than XQS with Liu Siufeng? Did he forget that he was ready to bring in the Sword King into the bunker? That little brother of his literally died to prevent him from doing this and now he was all worked up because the break-in happened anyway as if XQS wanted it to happen? For someone who was supposed to be intelligent and wise as a young leader of a sect, he showed none of this. Their brotherhood isnt convincing even in the earlier episodes as I mentioned before. He kept getting duped and influenced over and over again like an oblivious little puppy who had just ventured out into the world. This, when it was written that this character was supposed to be the most experienced of Jianghu among the three brothers. Oh what an absolute joke. This character is just one of many who acts incoherent to their written background, like the screenwriter got fedup halfway and said “to hell with it,” and then went on to write in blindfold. I am particularly disappointed with Crazy Yan because he also fell into the screenwriter’s ‘to hell with it’ syndrome when this character plumetted steadily from top fighter to top loser with unremarkable and very forgettable ending. Gosh Crazy Yan couldve been so much more with greater impact. But nope. The screenwriter said ‘to hell with it’ so to hell it goes.
I also find the supposedly subtle romance between Tang Fang and XQS to be too unreal. I just don’t see the spark. And that marriage promise between them looked lame and corny instead of comical that the screenwriter intended. Basically the whole plot of this show is too messy and all over the place with characters behaving incoherently against their written predisposition. The screenwriter failed to create comedic scenes that it ended up being slapstick and forced. There’s also too much chivalry speeches before fighting and useless draggy scenes that my fast forward button had to work overtime and my thumb constantly on overdrive. Everything didnt seem to work into becoming the scenes they were supposed to be, it’s simply an epic failure.
The premise looked too similar to the cdrama ‘A Dream within A Dream’ that i felt the screenwriter was trying too hard to copy its style, but this time the end product seemed to be of Grade D when ADwAD had been Grade A, especially when they started to show signs of possible other modern person transmigrating into the storybook (like how the screenwriter went into the story to rectify the plot in ADwAD) on episode 26. Like for real? I don’t watch much of novel transmigration drama so I am not sure if this is a common trope, but the similarities between the two that I’ve seen is just too cringy when one failed too miserably.
I think ML and FL are particularly lousy at crying scenes, especially ML with his supposedly overdone red eyes, like he sprayed too much onion juice into his eyes before the take. And this didnt look great when he’s supposed to cry (fakely) every few episodes that i began to label him a crybaby. Honestly Cheng Yi should stick to cold and aloof type of characters, he’s great with those - Li Chenzhou was awesome, and avoid characters that have more than two crying scenes until he learn to cry convincingly. The only one who looked good at crying here is the one who played Xiao Xueyu, i can really feel her devastation when she realized her third brother might have perished, but thats just about it. The rest of the cast failed miserably, they should go back to acting school specifically to learn how to cry. Other than the lack of substance, this unconvincing crying is also why I could not feel the sadness when characters started dying. Unlike A Journey to Love’s pointless and unnecessary character massacre that left me bawling at each death even when on rewatch, the character deaths here on TJoL seem pointless and “meh”. I failed to feel for them, sorry.
Poison trope is abundant here. People keep getting poisoned left and right but none of it really do anything but make people faint or deplete neili (but they regain them shortly after since they had no problem fighting with inner strength). And of course when any of the mainleads gets poisoned, stabbed, sliced or crushed, all they suffered was fainting which theyd just get up and start kicking again after a good night sleep. After episode 20, i contemplated on dropping this title so many times, the only thing that kept me going was the curiosity of the real mastermind in the mask.
Such a lengthy negative review, is there anything positive at all? Well the fight choreograph is good, hat’s off the the action choreographer team! All the hand-to-hand combat and swordplay turned out to be impressive and not boring. They look fierce and yet also graceful. I especially love ML’s swordplay cuz he looked formidable with every swing like he really trained hard for it. Same goes to rest of the cast. If only they tried as hard at crying too.
Oh and before i get accused of being a hater or biased for this review, to be honest, of all the casts, i only recognized Cheng Yi from Mysterious Lotus Casebook. Although i have seen Eleanor Lee in Fake Princess I didnt recognize her until I saw the list of casts when her character made an appearance while I was watching (I like to look up the casts in accordance to character appearances to see if i have seen them in other drama). So you can’t say I am biased against the show or any of the casts because Cheng Yi actually left a deep impression on me for his performance in MLC, and I was more satisfied of Eleanor’s performance on Fake Princess than her co star, so I actually started watching this title with a pretty high expectation. Being an objective viewer, I cant possibly rate any higher when the show doesnt match even the baseline of my expectation, even if it had my favourite actors on it (Cheng Yi isnt my fav actor, but i have rated low for some series starred by my fav actress Zhao Liying).
So that’s it. You might like this if youre a Cheng Yi fan, but if you’re not, oh well don’t put too much expectation before watching and maybe you won’t be as disappointed as me.

Revenge has never looked this fierce.
My first ever review here... I really believe this deserves one! Refreshing take comparing to their previous series. Love the dynamics between Pheem and Than. Opposites really do attract. Top-notch chemistry, visuals and acting! Storyline picks up each episode, give it a try it will surely leave you BEGGING for more! Great that the focus isn't just on the main leads alone, all the supporting characters have a pivotal role to play which makes it so much more interesting, this isn't just your average BL drama! Each episode is entertaining, can't wait for the next episode! How far will one really go to get what they want? Was this review helpful to you?
they did not disappoint!!!!!
woobin and suzy blessed us with this magical drama. it wasn't bad at all like other reviews in mdl mention. the writers and directors summed it up perfectly in 13 episodes, this is definitely a must watchi loved how they kept switching between dubai and korean village, the story was adventurous, and the characters had depth to their individual story which i really loved. i think people are making unnecessary hate reviews, when it wasnt even that bad, infact it was a good watch for me( i binged it) .
woobin was sooo goooddd in the drama.
and suzy ...my my my, her psycho yet lovable personality was so well played, her outfits were great too, in ep 13 when she lives her 3rd wish,😭😭😭😭her emotions that she was hiding all her life and in all those 12 episodes that she wouldn't express any emotion and in the last she we see her crying of happiness sorrow guilt anger . that was so emotional. i could really go on and on about the characters.
in the end all i will say is that in 13 episodes they really summed it up perfectly, and after so long it was a diferent kdrama .
i loved it🧡

Good Lakorn, but not my favorite of the series :(
This isn't the Thai chronicle of the Bridgerton series, it's the chronicle of crazy and destructive mothers (×﹏×)PLOT: Chat Juthathep, a military doctor, is sent to a hospital in a remote region rife with drug trafficking and corruption. He is immediately captivated by the FL, Tai, a tomboy, who works a variety of odd jobs (including catering) to support her angry and capricious widowed mother (Manaratee, ousted by Chat's father, in the previous generation).
+++ The two leads, both very young, are very cute together.
### A very classic twist of drug trafficking + corruption + intense violence, which gives the impression that this is everyday life in Thailand.
### Very "Lakorn" OSTs
### Also very classic production, with long focuses on eyes, ridiculous characters for the comic aspect, lots of melodrama, shouting, etc.
### I'm French and this always makes me laugh:
1/ The favorite drink to get drunk in Asia is red wine :) :) You must drink a lot of it to be drunk (and will be sick the day after)
2/ The ultimate luxury: red wine chilled in a bucket of ice cubes, with a screw cap :) :) What the f**k !!
=> Good Lakorn, but not my favorite of the series :(
****************************************

Along with the Gods 2: The Last 49 Days

49 Days of Flashbacks
This sequel filled in important narrative gaps by finally answering the lingering questions about the main characters' origins. This made their journey more compelling for the audience and contributed to the overall intrigue of the film. However, the numerous flashbacks disrupted the narrative flow. The fragmented plot and inconsistent pacing prevented this film from being as engaging as the first installment in the series.
While not as endlessly rewatchable as the original, the sequel still offers impressive special effects and a great balance of action and comedic scenes, making it a worthwhile watch for fans of the first film.

Sweet but very slow drama
The reviewer Rohit summarised it on spot, the drama is so slow. I was wondering what made me a bit uncomfortable, and it was the pace of the story and also the drama flow. I love SJK, however, I am not sure whether he was the right cast. Probably because he has all the sunshine of life on his side and to see him in a life full of poverty, challenges und bad luck (and also with the bad hair style), it does not feel right. Luckily he is a great actor and also CWH pulled it through, so the drama was enjoyable. Maybe the entire story is strange, a CEO loyal to her husband who is a loser (does not care of his two kids), a kid star becoming a poor student living alone and even raising his young sister while his dad lives with a rich CEO. In summary, I enjoyed watching as it is a nice and warm romantic drama with a lot of great actors. Was this review helpful to you?
Forever My Doctor Stranger: A Love That Beats As One
I rewatched Doctor Stranger again after such a long time.Let me first talk about the positive side of this drama. I can honestly say I still have not moved on from it. This is my Shayla, my romance empire.
The first two episodes are truly LEGENDARY.
When I was a child, I watched this drama without thinking too much and just felt deeply hooked by Jaehee and Hoon’s love story from the very start. Only after rewatching it now did I realize that their love actually teaches us what true love really means.
From beginning to end, Hoon only loves Jaehee.
Jaehee is his love, his soulmate, his family, his life force, his compass, and his home. That is why the time he spends without her, he feels like a stranger. And it is the same for Jaehee. To her, Hoon is her love, her soulmate, her beautiful dream, her life force, and her home.
Since the moment they realized their hearts beat in the same rhythm, they knew they were each other’s destination. That is why they would do anything and sacrifice so much for one another.
I am glad that in the end, after all the endless challenges and hardships, they finally find their way back home to each other.
Lee Jong Suk and Jin Se Yeon’s chemistry and acting are what made me hold on until the end. I still melt for all their happy moments 😭❤️.
Special mention to Lee Jong Suk’s brilliant portrayal of Hoon. I can say for sure that his Hoon is the most handsome, attractive, and charismatic version of him ever. I love the friendly haha-hihi Hoon who looks super cool during surgery chef’s kiss.
Many criticize Jin Se Yeon’s acting here, but to me, her acting is okay though. Not the best, but definitely not something that disturbed my experience watching the drama. She really suits the first-love vibe with her long hair actually. A white moonlight that a man can’t forget. Especially the scene where she got shot and fell from the bridge *that’s chef’s kiss*.
Also, the best part is the OST. Honestly, K-dramas these days still can’t compete with old K-drama OSTs. This drama is one of them. It’s truly legendary. I can listen to the OST 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, without ever feeling bored. Every time I hear the song, especially “Stranger” by Bobby Kim, I feel like I want to cry my lungs out😭💔. It’s just so sad for no reason. It’s such a magical song for me.
Now let’s talk about the bad side.
Yes, the best part is definitely only the first two episodes. The drama had such huge potential. I can see that both the writer and the director had a lot of ideas and wanted to make it big, but they ended up just messing around and achieving nothing 😔.
They tried to combine action, medical, politics, revenge, melodrama, and romantic comedy all in one story. It was ambitious, but they failed big time. None of those genres were executed perfectly.
I also really hated how they turned the romance into a love triangle. It was unnecessary.
They turned it into a couple war between two ships just for popularity, because at that time “husband-hunting” and “endgame-couple guessing” were trendy. But that choice ruined the emotional focus of the story.
No matter what people said, I have always been on Team Jaehee and Hoon.
There is no point in making such a long and painful love story just for Hoon to suddenly move on and fall for a so-called new and better girlfriend. If they wanted that, they should have just killed Jaehee from the beginning and let Hoon move on early.
Hoon had no motivation to join Myungwoo Hospital or move the story forward if not for Jaehee. If he had known she was dead from the start, he probably would have died too. After losing his father and Jaehee, he had no reason, no motivation, and no life force left to live. The only reason he worked so hard every day was because he believed Jaehee was still alive in North Korea.
So imagine making such a loyal man who sacrificed everything for his love suddenly betray her and move on to another girl when his original girlfriend comes back. What a joke.
That is why I can never empathize with people who shipped the Quack couple. To me, that ship was like cheering for betrayal. They supported a man abandoning his true love just to chase something new and better. But true love is never about finding the best one. It is about finding someone who makes you feel perfectly at home.
And that is exactly what Jaehee is to Hoon, and Hoon to Jaehee.
They are both strangers in a foreign land who found home in each other. No one understands Hoon better than Jaehee, and vice versa. It is just sad that the drama did not explore their backstory deeper. Because of that, many viewers could not fully understand how deep their bond truly was.
I also feel really sad about how poorly the drama treated Jaehee’s character.
She had so much potential. A North Korean and Japanese spy and doctor could have had such a rich, layered story. But we barely knew anything about her.
Why did she want to become a doctor?
Why was her family arrested?
Why was her Japanese family stuck in North Korea?
How did she even survive after drowning in the Budapest river?
The drama did not show her emotional journey, her struggles, or her point of view. Instead, they gave way too much focus to the Quack character, who was supposed to be a contrast to Hoon’s love for Jaehee and just the hospital director’s daughter. Yet we got all her family drama, her struggles as a doctor, how she fell for Hoon, how she tried to move on from him, and more, which did not even help the main story.
They showed her crying again and again, which honestly got annoying, but it worked to make viewers sympathize with her. In reality, she was a wishy-washy character who jumped between Jaejoon and Hoon and then went back to Jaejoon after Hoon rejected her. It was so unfair to Jaehee, the most incomplete and poorly written character among the four leads.
I also hated how the writing made Hoon and Jaehee’s reunion moments so confusing.
When Hoon hugged Jaehee, it should have been a fluttering, emotional moment just for them. But they ruined it by adding a parallel scene with Quack hugging Hoon too, as if to start a new love line. It ruined the emotion and made people misinterpret Hoon’s feelings.
When Hoon drunkenly said he wished Quack was Jaehee, viewers also misunderstood that scene. What he meant was not that he wished Quack as a person was Jaehee. He meant he wished Jaehee as a doctor could be like Quack, passionate, focused, and living as a doctor again.
It ties perfectly with the drama’s poster. Jaehee was the only one not wearing a doctor’s gown. It symbolized that she never truly lived as a doctor throughout the story. From beginning to end, she was a woman who loved her man so deeply that she was ready to sacrifice everything for him. Her only motivation to live was Hoon.
That is why Hoon hoped she could also live for herself, to have a purpose as a doctor, not just as his lover.
As for Jaehee’s personality change after reuniting in South Korea, I think it is the writer and director’s fault for not showing enough of her emotional struggles. From her point of view, she was constantly juggling everything, finishing her mission, hiding her identity, protecting Hoon, competing with Quack, handling patients, and getting involved in political conspiracies, all while being emotionally torn apart.
She understood Hoon more than anyone.
She knew many of her choices were not what he wanted, but she had no other choice. Behind the scenes, she was always fighting for him and trying to give him better options while keeping him safe. Poor Jaehee had to bear everything alone.
After their reunion, some viewers said Jaehee changed and never smiled as sincerely as she did back in North Korea. But at the very end, when everything was finally settled, her genuine smile returned.
Ironically, Hoon once said he fell in love with her because of her smile. “She is good at smiling, good at smiling, good at smiling.”
Even though she stopped smiling, even though her personality changed, Hoon still loved her because she is Jaehee.
No hairstyle, no personality shift, no misunderstanding could change that.
From start to finish, there was never any room for Quack.
Even when Jaehee did things Hoon did not like, hid things from him, or made choices that caused him pain, nothing ever changed his love for her.
She is the only one who could truly make him happy, the only one who could make his playful personality turn serious.
Only after Jaehee returned did Hoon start dreaming again, to become a doctor, to find his mother, to think about the future.
And no love is greater than Jaehee’s love for Hoon.
She still loved him and wanted to see him even after knowing he killed her father to save her life. In reality, no one could do that.
Jaehee’s love is defined by faith. She always believed in Hoon.
No matter how many times he disappointed her, failed his plans, chose patients over her, or was misunderstood by others, she always believed in him. She was his true support system.
Remember when everyone got angry at Hoon for using the Saver procedure? Quack impatiently woke the patient up and caused more trouble, but Jaehee calmly monitored the patient, analyzed the condition, and only asked Hoon to act when it was safe. She always believed in his skills and used her mind to help him. That is real support.
Another thing I hate is how the story trapped itself in its own setup.
Because Hoon had to act neutral toward Seunghee in front of others, they never looked close. But why could they not at least live in the same house?
Why did they make Jaehee live with Quack instead?
Because of this, we got robbed many of potential Hoon-Jaehee relationship development scenes 😭💔.
They were already engaged. Hoon even gave Jaehee a proposal ring, and the drama completely forgot about it. It should have ended with Hoon and Jaehee getting married 😭💔.
But at the end of the day, I still truly love this drama because of Hoon and Jaehee.
All the struggles and conflicts they went through only made their love grow stronger. Through hardship, they learned how to protect, fight, guide, defend, compromise, and even let go for love.
They learned what true love really is ❤️.
I like to think that after all these years, eleven years later, Hoon and Jaehee are already married, living happily with their children in a small village, loving each other and living their best life every single day.
I will start missing them again soon, and when I do, I will rewatch this beautiful story all over again 🥺♥️.

Genie, Make a Wish ****Beautiful but Incomplete Magic
A charming drama with heartfelt moments, but I just wish the story had a little more depth and time to shine. I really liked this drama, but it didn’t completely feel like Kim Eun Sook’s usual writing. Something was missing , maybe the emotional depth or stronger storytelling. The 13 episodes felt a bit rushed, and the story didn’t do full justice to its potential, which left me a little disappointed ☹️The main leads were the highlight for me. Their performances were beautiful, and their chemistry was so natural and captivating , it truly brought the story to life. I also loved the special cameos. Song Hye Kyo looked like a real fairy , so graceful and magical. She totally needs to do a fantasy rom-com drama one day; she’d be perfect for it. Daniel Henney and Kim Ji Hoon’s cameos were amazing, adding extra elegance and star power. I really loved Ahn Eun Jin and Steve Noh too; their performances were incredible.
The OST was perfect and matched every emotional moment so well 👍🏻

This could have been so much better but falls flat on its face-this was not Mr. Queen
I was so taken in by the synopsis that says "Modern CEO Lin Yu Hao suddenly finds his consciousness transported into the tea merchant game he developed, now inhabiting the body of Wei Xiao Tang, a new bride of the Li family" and the trailer that shows two modern guys looking at each other lovingly. I surmised that even though a man "becomes" a woman in the game, he will actually fall in love with the ML. And I was not wrong, except...Both lead actors were playing well as per scripted character roles, but the story was cliche and delivered in such a way that left me scratching my head. I was really, really hoping for openly gay romance, but instead it was ML silently waiting or minimally working on getting FL, who really was not that interested in anything but the game.
The most important part that the makers I think were trying to focus on is that loving someone of the same sex is OK and - given heavy reliance on "fated" connection in cdrama tradition- if we are attracted on someone of the same sex it is probably because we were in the "normal" relationship with them in previous life. Or in a dream. Or in the game. Or some other justification that at this point is needed for CCP and conservative Chinese public that believes in two genders and attraction along these lines.
There was way too many slow mo scenes and repetition of the the same scenes wrapped in music taken from another short drama A Familiar Stranger, which for me ruined the final effect.
And while we get a HE the writing at the end are desperate attempt to put substance in this production regardless of what it really could not accomplish in 25 episodes.
If you like the actors - watch it. If you want Bromance skip it. If you want BL go watch Kill to Love again.

I thought I wouldn't rewatch this drama, not even if I was paid, but thanks to the (currently lacking of) bts videos, I am rewatching some episodes 🙈. So yes, I am also going thru a mourning period of a drama that wasn't even that good to begin with... but it was also good at the same time? Memorable? Anyways, my - and + points:❌️ trashy plot: 🙊 like straight out of a fanfic or self-published novel. This one is an excellent example of "written by a woman for women" novel. The things they do and say are what we live for but also, highly unrealistic 😂
❌️ so many 2nd-hand embarrassment OMG. I thought my face was going to combust 🙈
❌️ love tangle: every guy is gay, and having something (emotionally or sexually) with at least two other guys (or girl). One of my pet peeves. Specially CC... he is no LWJ for example, like a guy for one guy only.
❌️ stereotypes: about exes (they are either trash or crazy), gays (no bisexuality in this world building; and they are either a top, if tall, or a bottom, if smaller), etc.
❌️ blowing figure candies: people eat that?? 🤢
❌️ messy ML: he never redeemed himself since that first episode. A giant criminal. And his diet is based on cigarrettes, alcohol and sex, no wonder he is so skinny 💀
❌️ a doctor of 20 years old having his own clinic?? 😑
❌️ editing: typical cdrama. It is obvious they had to cut a lot.
❌️ the waterbed. WTH. It is not comfortable at all, not even for sleeping. And for what they use it for... 🙈 please, a firm place is a must.
❌️ on their own, the doctor and CGY were lovely, but together... nah, wasn't a fan.
❌️ I am not a fan of snakes but the leads love them and that loose importance in the last 8eps or so. Made me judge the leads 😅
✅️ I am completely smitten with TXN 🥰 so professional! And so much confidence in even the most difficult scenes. So it is no wonder why he has so much chemistry with almost every guy... the guy exudes sensuality and intensity, a must for a CBL drama/leads, imo. I think ZY was overwhelmed sometimes 😅
✅️ a ML who is veeeery touchy-feely 🥰🥰
✅️ I had fun with the embarrassing moments 😅 I laughed so much.
✅️ good kisses and good chemistry.
✅️ hella addictive 🥰
✅️ the nickname "WeiWei"... sounds like "bebé" 🥰
✅️ I enjoyed (and am enjoying) the bts videos. The guys are adorable, even more than in the drama. And I absolutely adore the shock factor every time TXN opens his mouth 😂
Recommended? Uhm yeah, not for the script though 😂 but beware, the addiction is real.

This is one of my favorite drama this 2025
Being a fan of uncontrollably fond kdrama, I thought I'll be biased on how I'll rate this drama but to my surprise, I really enjoyed the series. I'm big fan of Bae Suzy so I know how good she acts and, in this series, she never disappointed me. The show's genre is comedy and for me it did really make me laugh till the end. I know this series will have low rating because of the inspiration it uses specially from Muslims, and I totally understand it. But if you just focused on the entertainment side which what a drama intended then you'll enjoy this. The story was short, so it didn't feel dragged and everyone in this drama is lovable besides from the villains of course. Was this review helpful to you?
