Overall, I watched this series a long time ago and honestly got a bit scared by the opinions, because back then I really liked it.It was a show I watched with great pleasure, and I couldn’t wait to start the next episodes and learn more about the characters’ past and future. The relationship between them is very enjoyable, and the chemistry practically jumps off the screen (plus lots of sweet scenes — I’m in love). The characters are very well developed, and I appreciated how the series shows problems faced not only by the main couple. I really liked how childhood trauma can affect adult life. On top of that, the side couples’ storylines were interesting — for me, the best one outside the main couple was definitely Kim Ji-a and Go Gwi-nam. From the very beginning, I was rooting for them to end up together…
SPOILER!!!!
And thankfully, I wasn’t disappointed. Well, maybe just a little, because I would have liked to see a lot more of them on screen after they got together, but I can survive that — the most important thing is that they ended up together in the end. The only thing that really annoyed me was that the male lead initially allowed her to get close to his brother, even though he knew it wasn’t his brother who was kidnapped with her, but him. I figured it was due to his trauma and, as I later learned, also because he pretended in front of his family that he didn’t remember it — but it was still idiotic to me. Not enough to lower my rating, though, because I’m simply in love with this series.

I really enjoyed watching this series. I liked how the characters were created—none of them felt one-dimensional, and each had their own personality. It showed a difficult childhood and its effects on adult life. I also liked the relationship of the main couple—there were no pointless arguments, and they were not just partners, but also best friends.Spoiler !!!!!
On the downside, definitely the fact that the main character didn’t go to therapy. F*ck, seriously, it was obvious he was struggling, and they’re trying to convince me he cured his depression and anxiety with herbs? I was also waiting to see the relationships of the main character’s friends, but unfortunately, in vain—which is a shame, because I think it could have been interesting. And the main character’s mother… I haven’t hated a character this much in a long time. I couldn’t stand her from start to finish.
I’m also not fully convinced by the fact that there was no official moment where they defined the relationship. They just naturally started being together—which is fine, I guess—but at the same time, it didn’t bring me much joy.

Superb
I’ve just finished so I want to add my takeaways as I have a lot of thoughts after completion. I only add spoilers in case I unintentionally do but I promise to try not to…..word of caution. You would be surprised off your pants when you realize this is a remake because it independently stands alone as an excellent piece. This is for those who haven’t seen the original. On the other hand, you would praise the creativity of these producers for their adaptation and how they made it equally as good if not better…if you watched the original. In all, this is engagingly good and deserves a lot more buzz than it currently is receiving.
First, this drama is quiet, almost like a silent movie. This might be off putting if you’re into fast paced heavy dialogues. However, the leads Mark Chao as Jia Qi and Zhang Zifeng as Zhou Yuan perfectly relays the emotional language of the drama. Conversations are often brief, restrained or deliberately unfinished. Long pauses, averted eyes, and shared quiet moments carry more weight than words. This is more so in first few episodes so adjust to it. However, as you silently watch, you absorb the undertones of what the characters cannot say or have learned not to say. It conveys loneliness without melodrama. I became accustomed after minor frustrations because I’m impatient but trust me, it’s impactful once adjusted to remind us that healing doesn’t always come from words. Both leads are doing such an excellent job, so impressed.
Second, it’s heavily character driven. Here is a story of two people who are totally opposite in life. Status, age, family situations, etc. He’s middle aged in a highly considered job. A family man with a child, with a loving supportive mother and family. However, he appears trapped in a stagnant marriage and suffocating workplace politics. She’s in her early twenties, struggling with debt, low paying jobs, caring for her ailing bedridden grandmother. As each episode unfolds, you become absorbed in their feelings and emotions. They are us, one way or another so that’s why it feels connective.
So how do they connect? That’s the core of the story. How do they? Why? It’s definitely unintentional. Their meeting actually intersects through a morally gray corporate scheme. So as not to spoil much, I hope this is enough to whet your interest to know how this unfolds. It does subtly in ways that make us as humans think quietly of our own lives connecting situations and emotions. It has that effect throughout every episode.
The leads relationship is complicated. Somehow they connect, yet don’t. She’s young, hungry for anything that brings meaning to her life. Unintentionally, she is drawn to the male lead as she hears his struggles, and finds him to be kind and just. She becomes aware of his personal problems and becomes drawn to him, almost as his protector. He on the other becomes very aware of her cold demeanor but discovers by chance her poor situation. Because of that, he shows her kindness and support. They begin to form a pact almost, two people internally struggling finding comfort in the company of each other. I wouldn’t say it’s romance, but more of an unlikely friendship difference in age and status, yet recognize the warmth of companionship in each other.
The side characters are those dear to the leads. His wife, mother, his brother and uncle. Her grandmother, her one friend, and her enemy who was once her childhood bestie. There’s also the office characters. They play an integral part in balancing the story, connecting the leads growth, as well as real life presentations of life in general. They don’t overshadow the leads story. It’s actually well balanced to complement the whole storytelling.
An added powerhouse is the OST. I actually searched the song that stood out to me because It mirrors the dramas quiet style reinforcing the characters. Its called When The Dandelion Blow Away Long Voyage.
“ The wind tugs at my roots, yet I stand and face the storm. Life may weigh and dreams may bend, but I will rise and carry on”. ( For Yuan’s perseverance even when life is harsh)
“I’ve walked through storms and silent nights, carried burdens that few can see. Yet in stillness a new light gleams, a hand to hold, a chance to be” (Jiaqi’s patient nature and willingness to trust). Actually the whole ost is beautifully aligned to the story, so it’s very well incorporated.
In some ways I am happy to write this totally free from the well known and loved original, My Mister. I haven’t seen it but my daughter loved it. This then hopefully gives you a little insight as to how the adaptation of this version is and makes you want to check it out. I am totally enjoying it. It is
overall a superb production from the script writing, the acting, cinematography, the plot, with every episode leaving the desire for more.

It is finished! 1/26/26
I’m able to read the two other views and I appreciate reading their comparisons. However, mine stands independent from original so therefore, totally based on this alone. In my unqualified opinion, the leads, side characters, everyone in this series deserve an award for their part. They delivered excellent performances that drew in viewers to emotional heights that touches deeply. The directors, writers, producers managed to nearly bring a complete story without any loose ends. (few leftouts at ending). This is a masterpiece. My unqualified opinion of masterpieces is a story that widens perspective to every day life and it’s nuances, and not just touches your heart, but makes you think long and hard of it’s effect on things that matter to our humanity. Though loaded with so many themes, it’s long enough. I’ll just touch on two that most stood close to my heart.
Yuan and her grandmother lingers long and meaningful. I loved their relationship. I honor this young girl for taking care of her elder. I can’t begin to imagine their life of survival. Their few scenes of communication, thru signing, smiles, head kisses were so precious. Yuan taking her to see the moon….oh my heart. I’d love to meet the actress who played grandma so I can hug her sweetly and tell her she’s a phenomenal actress. In my culture we prioritize elder care.
Yuan and Jiaqi, a love story for the ages. Love that wasn’t romantic, love nevertheless. Love that connected through shared loneliness and hardships, that flourished quietly and effectively. The breakdown of barriers are loads of tears, especially for the young girl who had to carry an overloaded load. Jiaqi recognizing her burdens, showing compassion, it helped her unload and recognize her self worth. In doing so, he thawed his own burdens, by the silent understanding and support from her. This tells us that at our most human, we are fragile, tired, and often alone. Yet even in that state, we are still capable of deep kindness. Love can come from kindness that can be life saving in ordinary, unglamorous ways.
This drama in itself is extremely good. Excellent even. I have nothing to compare it with. That makes me happy. Worthy of recognition for its deep messages that embeds where it matters…the heart. I’m so glad as it’s a healthy reminder that our lives intersects differently but at its core is that kindness and acts thereof are healing medicine in walk.
I will love to see My Mister someday, and I will watch it without comparison. I know from everyone’s praises that it too will have resounding connections. Isn’t that what we seek from these entertainment tools? Far long, thank you for reading. Take care.

they could've just kept it as an office romance / triangle where Tae In feels for Yeong Won, seeing him get assaulted by his bf/ex or being humiliated by his ex's new gf/fiancé. there were so many opportunities where anyone would want to intervene & come to the defense of Yeong Won. even someone as stoic & aloof as Tae In must have a humane side - he didn't have a side quest when he agreed to let the woman (his father set him up with) hold his arm on the way out, as a last goodbye. so he couldn't find compassion in his heart for someone that worked under him for 5 yrs?!?
the whole Yeong Won programed the scenario in the game he was working on & it applied to him - somehow? even though i have to wonder, can one get shocked via the mouse?!?? seems far-fetched.
& who was the dude with the mullet?!? if he was Ha Yeong "brother" (as they both grew up in the same orphanage), then why he f*ck her over?!? for money? the mains weren't offering him any, so why suddenly help them?? also he suddenly pops up & helps Yeong Won solve the programing glitch - who is he? a god? like the Greek gods as they the only ones who wanna seduce humans & he kept trying to lure Yeong Won.
if u ignore all the game quest crap this was good. it was well acted & interesting. would've loved if Yeong Won stood-up for himself more & didn't let Gyeong Un gaslight him, let alone abuse him. yeah love makes u stupid & u let people walk all over u, but there were so many red flags & at what point does one say enough is enough?!? & Tae In came to Yeong Won's help in the stairwell when he got punched, that should've been the end of that relationship, in that moment IMO as no matter what ur going through in ur own world, when an outside intervenes that's a sobering moment.
& given the moronic quest i don't fault Tae In for ghosting Yeong Won after he achieved his goal; 1 he wasn't gay. 2 he might as well have been A-sexual & 3 he forced himself into interacting & coming to Yeong Won rescue... when sh*t is force on u, even if u have a change of heart ur knee jerk reaction is to retreat to what u r used too the sec u r free & to him that was distancing himself for Yeong Won - going back to working around the clock. as he needed time to figure out his own feelings. so if u ignore the quest crap this was good, but cause of it, this was just ok.

I truly fell in love with this series. The plot drew me in so much that I watched episodes every chance I got. I liked how all the characters were portrayed—most of them really grew on me, even the main character’s admirers, who usually annoy me. I appreciated how popularity was depicted—it’s not always a good thing. It showed the pressure they were all under, as well as how Smiling kept growing with each new game. I also really enjoyed how the games themselves were presented; it was interesting and well done. The only downside for me were the animations—I couldn’t always recognize the characters in them, and they sometimes went on for too long. I would have much preferred just a regular view of the game. Despite this, I can’t lower my rating, because I haven’t been this hooked on a series in a long time.

I had a great time watching this series, even though I had seen a lot of scenes on TikTok beforehand and had already watched the Korean version (I think the Thai version was much better). The character development was excellent. The main character’s transformation through love happened naturally, not all at once. The female lead never gave up despite all the obstacles she faced. The supporting characters were very interesting—each one different, yet all engaging in their own way.
Even the main character’s mother, whom I couldn’t stand for most of the series—there were hints from the beginning that she was hiding her true self, and only in the final episode did she finally reveal it.
The only downside for some might be the violence, which was quite intense in the first few episodes.

the most endearing story
It's a drama that feels like home, very raw and honest and it's a reminder of what happiness and love truly mean. The two main leads, IU and BoGum did such a great job portraying the humble lives of their characters who never had much, went through some difficulties but still found their path. Life is full of beautiful things, the most valuable ones money couldn't buy, this drama constantly reminds me of that and that's very humbling. It makes u realize that, in reality, Aesun and Gwansik had everything really.
This story really kept me deeply engaged, I loved every second.
Also i don't recall crying so much watching a drama before lol so yeah this one touched my heart.
It surely belongs in my top 10 of k-dramas, it's a little treasure.

Don't come, This is a trap.
I watched because of Tian Tian Yi but this is far beyond my comprehension FL is a weak but she supposed to have magic and ML is a dim-witted; overall, it fell short of expectations and was exhausting to watch. Never understand Chinese short drama logic when people having sex but can't recognize that person's face but still remember birthmark. Fast-forwarding this so people wont get this trap just like me.Was this review helpful to you?

A very enjoyable series with well-developed characters. I genuinely enjoyed watching it and, most importantly, it never got boring. That said, there were a few absurdities that kept me from giving it 10 stars, namely: So Baek-ho looked at the female lead’s profile and didn’t connect her to the girl whose life he had ruined. Also, the fact that he fired her yet again — even though he later saw for himself that she was a valuable employee — and still stuck to his decision. Additionally, the ending itself was quite mediocre and pointless. Was this review helpful to you?

Blessed by Death and Crowned by Love
Having sat through Pit Babe 2, I felt let down by how rushed it was. The finale’s racing competition lacked weight, leaving glaring script loopholes unresolved and the story unfinished. But then came the announcement of Goddess Bless You From Death, set to premiere at the end of 2025, and my expectations shifted. Knowing Pooh and Pavel’s on‑and‑off screen chemistry, I trusted they would deliver—and they did. This project is a complete genre departure, and it’s their most daring yet. Pavel’s haunting portrayal of Singha and Pooh’s deeply human take on Thup made the supernatural believable, even as the narrative plunged into ghosts and rituals. The centerpiece, The Sacrifice of Seven Bodies Ritual, was chilling—an exploration of how far people will go for wealth, power, and recognition.
It is, without question, their finest collaboration since debuting as a couple. The research behind the story shows in every detail, and the execution is flawless. I rated it 10/10 because they earned it—this time, they gave us something complete, resonant, and unforgettable.
If you shy away from horror, ghosts, or ritualistic mystery, this series may not be for you. But for those willing to step into the shadows, Goddess Bless You From Death is absolutely worth the watch.

Cute little BL story
This cute little BL story centres around Prince Khanin played by Nunew Charawin and Charan, his body guard, played by Zee Pruk Panich. If you’ve watched anything else with them in you’ll already know that their chemistry is fabulous. In fact some of the kissing towards the end of the drama looks more spontaneous than staged. They meet in what should have been a simple ‘escort the young man home to meet the family he didn’t know he had’ situation but which turns into an all out rescue and scramble.
The younger actors are all beautiful and over time we are introduced to two other love interest pairings and a strong female, all of which face their own challenges - this drama has several sub plots from these people that add emotion and depth as they address issues created by parents or society. There are twists and turns (but I’m afraid I guessed the baddie quite quickly) where some of the characters take control of their lives, others own up to the misdemeanours they’ve created and a couple are beyond redemption. Unfortunately there are a few missed or downplayed issues that never really get addressed.
The fight scenes, especially at the beginning are terrible (sorry!) as you can clearly see that although punches are thrown, they don’t even get close to their targets yet still they fall. They did get better as the show went on, thankfully.
Prince Khanin’s butler Chakri, played by Ballchin Tanawat is utterly brilliant and manages to be in the wrong place at the wrong time on several occasions much to the two main characters’ frustrations (if you get what I mean) and throughout the drama he didn’t fail to put a smile on my face. I will be watching out for him…
Production values were excellent, even though the palace sets and costumes gave me Princess Diaries vibes, and apart from the fight scenes this is a great mini series.
What’s not to like about a country that is governed by the A-see-wot-e-wot-in family? Sorry, this name made me chuckle every time I heard it!
Would I watch it again? Just for the male lead chemistry and the fabulous A-see-wot-e-wot-ins I may come back but not any time soon.

i really want to like this
hii hope you're doing well. So, about this drama, the thing that was holding me back was the number of episodes.
I finally decided to watch and it started amazing, however looks like a mess 14 episodes in.
If only they did a smoother transition... episodes 8 and 9 (if i'm not mistaken) look like day and night. I honestly thought i slept.
Maybe if i watch until the end i'll write the final review. Let's see :)

Fascinating Topic, But Could Have Been Executed So Much Better
Personally, as a Christian, I don't appreciate the Christian symbols and some Bible verses being misrepresented by this (or any real life) cult, when any symbols or ideology could have been used. It's so unoriginal to negatively portray Christians, yet they won't do the same with other religions or beliefs. Is there some reason that this show was not made with a cult that uses the star of D avid, free masonry, a pagan sacrificial cult, or something original? Besides, even secular ideologies like the neighbor of south Korea is a cult, so cults don't have to even involve religion. I don't think this series did a good enough job to not basically slander Christians as a bunch of crazies. In some scenes, the cult's symbol of the boat under the cross is not even fully visible, for example, from perspectives looking up at it. It's sort of corny how they made the cross glow red, when any symbol in that color is going to look eerie. Near the end, there's some half-hearted attempts to counter this misrepresentation of Christians, but to some viewers' subconscious, the damage is probably done. Why did the show producers have the 1 friend out of the 4 guys wear a regular cross, not the cult's altered cross, in the scenes where he shamefully didn't want to save Im Sang-mi? Greed, power, control, and psychopathy were the main driving forces of the main leaders (Jo Wan-tae seemed atheist), not Christianity, but this distinction should have been clearer from the beginning. The soundtrack is really boring, which doesn't match the suspenseful, psychological thriller nature of this series.
The psychology of the main character's boymom (boymom-ism is kind of a cult of its own, this would make a good series topic), the cult, and the psychopathic leaders were the stronger parts of this series. The various methods of deception, the gradual increase of abuse towards members, the exploitation of people in desperate sad situations, and the claustrophobia-like feeling of cult members being anywhere in any job, was all covered well. The twists and turns of the plot, and costume design, are strengths of this series too.
OTOH, some of the plot is lacking. For example, why did the dad not just move with his family to another city, such as a big city with more jobs? Korea has more than just 2 cities. Another thing is, I feel like the main character (Im Sang-mi) constantly questioning things for years would have landed her in more trouble than what was portrayed. That's great that didn't happen, but the other members were hysterical, and it's doubtful they would have tolerated that much noncompliance.
Some characters were annoying, such as the main character's boymom. The boymom had the expectation of her daughter to put herself in harm's way against multiple boys, all to protect her brother, which is wrong and backwards. Even before the tragedy, the boymom was parentifying and negative toward her daughter. Is this a critique of the rampant favoritism of boys in many Korean families, part of what sparked the 4B movement that is now gaining traction worldwide? It's annoying how the female lead is only allowed to be strong and protective of males, but isn't allowed to be strong and save herself or other female characters. Jo Wan-tae, the curly haired sidekick manlet of the cult was really hateable. While it makes sense for this plot, more justice should have been dished out to him. At a certain point, there were too many characters and some didn't add much to the story.
Overall, this series could've been done so much better. Hopefully future kdramas about cults will take some lessons from this series' drawbacks.
