One of my favorite KDramas

I saw this series years ago when I was trying to see what's the fuss regarding Korean dramas and this series really made a good impression on me. Production values are at par or even better than Hollywood films. The story line was quite interesting and intriguing. And was acted very well by all the cast. The male and female lead was perfect, with good emotional connection, together with all the supporting cast. This is truly one of best and fun series everyone should not miss. I have rewatched this drama after a year and it was still fun to watch.

A BL So Good I Forgot to Blink ?✨

DOMUNDI finally upped their game!! 🔥

Okay, listen... I honestly wasn’t expecting much from this BL 😅 Even after hearing so many good things about it, I still went in with zero expectations. But once I started watching… OMG 😭 I was completely MESMERIZED!! The cinematography?? UNREAL. Every episode is over an hour long, and I actually watched it in 1x speed 😭 (which NEVER happens because I usually go 2x for BLs). That alone says A LOT — I was hooked from the very first second!! 💥

The OSTs and all the songs?? 🔥🔥 Chef’s kiss! Especially the main theme — absolute perfection 🎶
And the acting... OMGGG everyone acted like RENT WAS DUE 😭👏 They ATE every scene!

Keng, my man 😩💗 just WOW. His voice?? So addictive. His acting?? Perfection. His visuals?? Don’t even get me started 😮‍💨
Namping was GOD-TIER!! The subtle emotions, the expressions, the intensity — everything was spot on 💫

The second couple was amazing too! Honestly, the whole cast delivered. Massive shoutout to the casting team because they did not miss once! 🙌 And those twins??? They were SOOOOO cute 🥹💖

The cinematography, the plot, the twists, the acting, the OSTs — everything was just NEXT LEVEL. No BL can top this one for me, seriously. It had the story, the depth, the emotions, the acting — everything I’ve been craving 😭💕

And the NC scenes... let me just say 👀🔥 They proved you don’t need to go all the way for it to be sensual and meaningful. It was pure, emotional, and so beautifully done. I don’t usually mention NC scenes, but this time I HAVE TO — they nailed it! 😭💞

This show, this cast, this whole production team — they all deserve endless appreciation for giving us such a high-quality BL masterpiece 💎👏 It deserves all the recognition and more!!

If you haven’t watched it yet, PLEASEEEE trust me and just go for it 😭🙌 I know it’s labelled as horror and I usually avoid horror too 😅 but this one??? 100% worth it.
JUST WATCH IT!! You’ll thank me later 😭💖✨

Just watch it.

Every story adapted from this doctor’s novels has been amazing, and I’m so glad to see something fresh this time.

actors from NADAO never disappoint me. Tor has been my bias from the very beginning, and seeing him play such a mysterious doctor makes me even more excited and drawn to the series.

The other lead, JJ, is also really handsome. I love how the script doesn’t overly focus on intimate scenes. it makes me feel that love doesn’t always need to be shown through NC moments.

The actors in this series are all very talented, even though they're just supporting characters. It makes me feel like this story really happened (it reminds me of a local documentary).

The way the series communicates its message clearly shows the true purpose behind its creation. It’s not just following the typical BL trend that’s everywhere right now but often lacks real quality.

This is probably the series I love the most. Everything, the visuals, lighting, colors, composition, sound, music, and even the acting. I love it all. You definitely won’t be disappointed if you watch it, I swear.

The Power of Character-Driven Storytelling

Stories about characters striving to achieve their dreams are always special. When done right, such shows can be both eye-opening and deeply motivational. Typhoon Family is exactly that — a brilliant blend of likable, relatable characters, consistently realistic storytelling, and timeless themes of determination, selflessness, and hard work.

Set against the dreary backdrop of an economically unstable Korea, this drama is easily one of my favorite releases of the year.

The main character is as good as it gets — smart, charming, youthful, kind, and undeniably handsome. I could go on and on about Kang Tae-poong, but what truly stands out is how perfectly Lee Junho embodies him. Tae-poong often finds himself in over his head, yet he’s never afraid to ask for help, never afraid to fail, and never afraid to try again. He’s resilient and optimistic, and his tenacious willingness to never give up is truly the heart of this story. With his passion, sharp instincts, and strong support system, he is bound to succeed.

Our female lead complements him beautifully. She’s intelligent, dutiful, and far more than just a romantic interest. She’s a fully developed character with her own struggles and obstacles to overcome. The supporting cast also contributes meaningfully, each serving the story. In the end, it felt like each character experienced substantial, life-changing personal growth, the standout for me being Tae Poong's mom. No matter what direction the plot took, I always stayed engaged because of the character stories. They were just people doing what they could to survive in a bleak period in history, while supporting their loved ones. That really spoke to me.

Admittedly, I haven't been watching kdramas for that long. But from my experience, kdrama writers honestly suck at writing complex villains, mostly. But I think the villain is a lot more complex than most people realize. If you pay close attention, you'll catch the subtle hints about his personlity and motivations in his dialogue with other characters, especially his father. He isn’t just a chaotic troublemaker—he’s driven by insecurity, entitlement, and a lifelong inferiority complex toward Tae Poong. Pyo kid’s bitterness grows as he keeps losing to someone(Tae Poong) he now considers “beneath” him, and the pressure from his abusive father only deepens his desperation. He's incapable of succeeding onvis own because he lacks necessary skills and knowledge, yet he isn't humble enough to learn. So he directs his efforts towards destroying Tae Poong hoping that will prove his father wrong, but it always backfores on him. He's an annoying yet well-written villain.

Typhoon Family is very much a character-driven drama. The plot, however, never feels lacking. Sure, there's a disproportionate amount of losses as against wins, but I was thoroughly entertained. There are a few plot holes mostly in the business side of things. You'd likely notice them but they aren't massive enough to stifle your enjoyment of the show.

Themes of ambition, greed, trust, perseverance, the balance of risk and reward, etc. are woven neatly into the narrative, delivering powerful life and business lessons along the way. I know I’ve personally learned a thing or two.

Watching this show was a wonderful experience which taught me two things. One, I can always trust Kim Minha to choose the right scripts, and two, I should never judge an actor after seeing just one of their projects. I absolutely did not like Lee Junho after I watched King the Land. I detested that show. Now, I absolutely love him. I look forward to watching more of him. This show was both an inspiring breath of fresh air and a massive beat down, and I'm so glad I found it.

Worthy Halloween Binge!

First of all, this is actually a great series and totally worth the almost three-year wait. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much at first, but I was excited to finally get a Thai zombie apocalypse drama — and I ended up binging the entire series in one night.

I really appreciate Domundi’s effort and budget here. The production quality is impressive — from its cinematography, scriptwriting, directing, to editing — all handled with care. The lineup of actors is stellar, and everyone delivered such convincing performances. The pacing is also spot-on: enough suspense without dragging too slow or moving too fast, with unexpected plot twists that kept me hooked. I especially loved the smooth transitions between past and present scenes — they were so well executed.

The biggest highlight for me is the “cure attempt gone wrong” trope. I like how the show cleverly blends real-world science into a fictional context — it makes the story feel grounded yet thrilling.

There are a lot of characters, but surprisingly, each one serves a clear purpose and brings life to the series. Some moments and characters really stayed with me — the mother-children arc, the cheerleading and Lily scenes, Pao’s mental relapse, the infamous alarm phone scene, and of course, the Ning-Non ending.

The only reason I didn’t give it a full five stars is because of the cliffhanger ending (please, let there be a Season 2 soon!) and a few small plot loopholes here and there. But overall, Zomvivor is a refreshing, high-quality take on the zombie genre — and one of the best Thai dramas I’ve seen in years.

This is a series that should not be rated lower than 8/10.

Overall, I enjoyed watching this series, but only the scenes I really like. Their acting is absolutely amazing
The cinematography and lighting are stunning. it feels like every scene has a purpose.

In Ep 1, I think there are some parts that are quite interesting, but the storytelling in certain moments made me raise my eyebrows, as if I were watching a drama produced in an older era.
But even so, I still tried to keep an open mind while watching this series.

After Ep 3 gave me a bit of hope to continue watching this series. It felt like the most relaxing moment after having a headache for two hours straight.
come to think of it… Alan keeps dreaming about that kind of thing, doesn’t he? It’s so funny I almost died laughing.
And I’m also curious about Nat. If Alan fell in love with Win when he was 18, then how old was he when he had his first love? He even remembers Nat and English better than Win, the person he actually loves.
I really couldn’t stand the scene where the doctor kept clicking his pen over and over. It reminded me of the times during exams when the person at the next desk would click their pen loudly, It made my brain feel like it was about to explode. This doctor makes me feel like I want to file a complaint.

As for the secondary couple, their relationship would probably seem completely normal in real life. But when it appears in this series, it somehow feels incredibly strange (We’re in the middle of a war, yet these villagers are out here casually mowing the lawn like it’s just another relaxing day.)

Well-written jiejie romance drama that felt like a condensed version of 45-minute-per-episode drama

I am a fan of jiejie romance and I'd like to thank MDL user Fae for sharing link to this drama. I was not familiar with the main actor and main actress so not much expectation. I enjoyed this drama immensely and was impressed by the production quality.

What I liked:
1. Romance - Hot intimate scenes such as passionate kissing and a cosplay. I also liked that there were tender and vulnerable moments by both characters. One of my favourite scenes is when ML felt undervalued and broke up with FL. I liked how ML stood up for his rights in the relationship because usually in jiejie romance, ML closed one eye when he was mistreated by FL.
2. ML characterisation - As expected, he had cute puppy vibe when he was playful with FL but there were serious moments. I liked that his character grew.
3. FL characterisation - FL was sensible and likeable. I also liked that FL had some character growth as well. She realised her mistake and fought for her relationship.
4. Writing - I liked how this story was told because it felt like a condensed version of 45-minute-per-episode drama without filler scenes. There was one scene I enjoyed a lot - FL had a chat with her close colleague about dating a younger man. I liked how these tropes were explored in this story: Older woman-younger man romance, office romance, hidden identity, longtime crush.
5. Supporting characters - I loved FL's close colleague Annie for being wise and funny. I also liked ML's assistant - he gave good advice.
6. Acting - Wonderful performances by Wang Xiao Shi, Yu Yi Fu, the actor who played FL's ex and the actress who played FL's mother. Great chemistry between Wang Xiao Shi and Yu Yi Fu.
7. Styling - Amazing outfits chosen for FL because in reality Yu Yi Fu is older than Wang Xiao Shi.

What I disliked:
1. Antagonist - A substantial antagonist with a good arc. FL’s ex was cunning and despicable for going to FL’s mother to get FL to marry him. I also disliked FL's mother at one point for not backing her own daughter. She was too concerned about face saving than her daughter's happiness.

Favourite scene
The cosplay

This drama had me so captivated I barely remembered to drink water. It’s absolutely grand in scale — think The Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones, but reborn in a Chinese soul. The production feels epic, the world-building immense.

The male lead is both a genius and a master of martial arts, yet constantly finds himself surrounded by betrayal and isolation. It’s not just tragedy — it’s a philosophical reflection on brilliance and solitude, on how greatness often stands alone.

The plot armour is frustratingly thick

It’s really a shame, the premise sounded interesting, and the production values looked pretty good.

I’m only upto episode 4, and I’m already considering dropping this show. There are all these events that require large amounts of police/security/special ops/thugs to surround whoever is currently being chased for whatever reason, but they never move or behave in a way that makes me believe they are an actual threat. They get all these extras to wear these uniforms, and I’m supposed to be intimidated by their sheer numbers?? It’s always amateur hour when these groups are on; I’m always screaming something at the screen like
“how are you guys not looking above/below?”,
“why are those guys running *away* from your target?”,
“why are you *all* at the front door and why isn’t anyone securing other possible exits?”,
“why aren’t you all fanning out and actually looking for your targets, why are you just standing there waiting to be attacked?!”.

Regarding the sniper, why the f did that guy wait so long to shoot??! Also, the entire time my partner kept muttering how that type of gun should be doing more damage and should’ve been able to penetrate the podium, and I had to tell him over and over to just ignore it.
And since when can refrigerator doors block bullets??

It’s as if the director focused too much on mimicking cool-looking action scenes from other movies to the detriment of logic and realism. I know suspension of disbelief is part of watching K-dramas but this is asking too much.

Boring af

I don't know, but I'll be honest, this is the drama I've been looking forward to this year. Besides the really interesting visuals and the great Reuters scene, but then when I watched it, I... Stopped in the middle of the episode because the storyline was slow and lacked direction. I know the Xian Xia theme is common. But this was boring. Aside from the stunning cgi and good OST, some of the episodes were... Not quite right. The chemistry is good, but I think Lu Yuxiao, the female lead, needs more practice. Her expressions are consistent and complex even when the scene or situation changes.

Lovely yet Funny Love Story

I enjoyed this drama so much. It is quite unique because the FL being a lady general is very manly while the ML appears weak and shy in disguise though. It is so hilarious and beautiful how they develop their love for each other despite the identity mask and the secrets. Even though there is an interplay of politics and military actions the love story still shines for the couple to get to know each other and learn to accept and forgive each other despite their differences.
Their assistants are also very nice and funny.
I admire the FL for forgiving the ML after knowing his secret. Some FL are becoming extremely angry to the point that they don't want to forgive anymore. This FL listens to her heart and helped the ML to be a better person. The ML is also admirable because he was always humble and respectful of his wife. His love was real and he was willing to leave everything behind for her happiness and good.
I love the production. It is well done.

Favorite kdrama to this day - 7yrs and running

I don’t ever write reviews, but around once a year I come back to watch this kdrama. It’s the one drama I tell people is a must watch imo. It’s really dark at some points but I love the story and all of the foils and mirroring character arcs there are.
7yrs ago I watched this kdrama, I binged watched it till episode 10. As I went to go watch the next episode I learned that there wasn’t a next episode at least not yet. And so started my weekly tradition of crying once a week for 6 weeks straight. 7yrs later and I still say it’s my favorite kdrama out there.

I rate this drama 0 out of 5 stars!
Very poorly written, leads have 0 chemistry and the storyline makes 0 sense! Poor execution of a plot! There was so much they could of done with this storyline and instead they chose to mess it up!
The female lead was dumb as hell.. she annoyed me throughout the entire show...
After episode 8 I dropped the drama and then skipped to the last episode to see if the drama atleast had some level of character development or good ending.. it was still poor as hell and female lead was still dumb as hell.. I couldn't believe that she was still the same person... no growth.. no maturity...nothing! A waste of time watching!
I cannot stand stupid female leads and she definitely takes win for MOST STUPID AND ANNOYING FEMALE LEAD in any drama I've ever watched!
Male lead is a very good actor.. Ive watched many of his dramas.....
0 Stars... will never recommend this to anyone!
Waste of time

A genuine masterpiece.

Khemjira has been one of the greatest Thai shows I have ever seen this year let alone in my entire life. It has a captivating story and amazing cinematography, I rotated throughout every emotion while watching this series. The soundtrack is absolutely addicting and the opening sequence is SO cool. I loved every character in the main cast as well as most of the side characters, even the main villain, Ramphueng. Her backstory makes you FEEL. Seeing her backstory and seeing the curse play out through every life was genuinely bone chilling. Everything leading up to that moment started making sense, it makes you go "Ohhhh" when you watch it. I loved the historical stuff and the Buddhism and mythology, it was all just so good, especially as someone who had previously studied/learned about some of this stuff. I absolutely loved this series and the only thing I really did not like were how long the NC/love scenes were. I may have accidently watched the uncut version(?) but I felt like those scenes added nothing and were just TOO long to the point where I just could not watch it any further. The ending gave great closure for not only Ramphueng but also the two couples. Everything truly came to a full circle in the end and it was really beautiful. This show is definitely worth the watch, it is a thrilling story about romance, friendship, and destiny.
