the story was sooo good

this drama had it all action, romance, a tough girl capable of soo much and destiny. I loved the flashbacks and all the characters life stories and why they made there wishes. but I do wish Ryu Soo-hyun had a worse fate because he was the real villain & deserved a lot of unpleasant karma for all the things he did to Ka- young and Genie but especially for the abuse he put Irem through. but at the end of the day I did really enjoy this drama and I loved the ending with them waltzing in the desert.

REVAMP DOES NOT DESERVE THE HATE IT GETS! PLEASE GIVE IT A CHANCE

First of all, this show is getting hatred way more than it deserves, that's why I'm giving it a 10/10. (People are really rating it way below than it deserves)
Ket's break down various aspects of the show and the criticisms it is getting-
One of the biggest hates it got was from the final trailer- Many people didn't even give it a chance after watching it claiming it wasn't as "dark" as the initial pilots. Even thought that might be a bit true, a 3-minute trailer IS NEVER going to tell you what a 10 EPISODE SERIES has to unravel. Way to be prejudiced, also the greatest eg. of a BANDWAGON EFFECT (where people blindly follow something coz many other people do it)
Next hate being- IT HAS COMEDY. Well Boun has always been clear that it wouldn't be 100% dark and serious, he aims at playing a goofy, cute and lovable vampire, but who is also serious and responsible when he is needed to be.
Another pattern that I noticed is people dropping it after 2-3 eps (A close friend of mine did it as well). Won't you give a show a chance for the story to unravel? It got so good from ep 4 and some eps like 4,6,8 and 9 truly stood out in every sense, too bad that you don't get to watch it coz you were too busy being prejudiced.
And I can't believe some people actually called Prem's acting lifeless, Boun's acting cringe and that they have no chemistry. Check out Prem's work in MuTeLuv and let's see if you still dare to call his acting "lifeless" .They have been a CP for 7 years and have been working in this industry with zero acting skills; yeah, right. Think before you bluff.
That's the hate comments I came across.
Now let's talk about how the show was, for me.
1) Story/Plot- 10/10
As a novel reader, they did 95% justice to the novel and I'm glad that they barely took out anything from it. The fantasy and sci-fi aspects of it were so deep and mind-blowing. The romance and all the other emotions are also well-written, the story was perfect in my eyes.
2) Acting- They did a pretty good job at this as well. Especially ep 6 blew my mind, it's evident that they've truly given it their all. I would give it 9/10
3) Cinematography and technicalities like CGI- The location and some camerawork were pretty impressive, and the CGI was very decent, compared to a lot of other GMM shows. Some of the locations and sets were truly stunning, like Greenmoore and Punn's antique shop. 9/10
4) OSTs+BGMs- PERFECTION. 1000000/10 Boun and Prem and GREAT singers and they proved it once again. I also really really love the BGMs of this show, especially the eng song that was played in ep 4 (while ramil hugs punn)+ the song when they slow dance
5) Direction- This is a bit controversial. This is the reason why REVAMP is getting all the hate that it is getting. It is a bit all over the place; not balanced out. I've never been a fan of N8w's work, only exception being a very few works (mainly because it has a good cast it is his field of expertise)- yeah, he is suited for ensemble cast uni-romance, that is his usual and comfortable area of work- his forte. He openly admitted that he wouldn't take on a project like this as it was too much for him- way to be unprofessional; at least he could have handed it over to some other director if he wasn't really up for it. In the book, the romance, fantasy, action, emotions, everything is well-balanced but when it was executed, they rushed the fantasy aspects of it and gave a lot of screentime for lesser important stuff. It was not well-balanced. The first ep was pretty well-made, but then it dropped a bit- there wasn't much to be invested abt in ep 2 and 3- this is the reason why 1/3rd of the people dropped it after 2nd or 3rd ep. But it REALLY picked up from the 4th and honestly got a LOT BETTER, tbh better with EVERY EPISODE. But they rushed the important stuff towards the end, especially the final battle, which could have been given way more imp, was rushed and felt like the director did it for the sake of doing it. The last ep was only around 30 minutes.
It is unfortunate how the lack of a good direction impacted a 3-4 years long project, moreover P'boun's biggest dream and both BounPrem's hardwork not get the praise they deserve, instead is accumulating unwanted and unnecessary hate.
PLEASE GIVE THIS SHOW A CHANCE, YOU WON'T REGRET IT.
In my eyes, the show deserves 8/10, but BounPrem's effort and hard work deserves 1000000000/10
If you read until here, I hope you were convinced to give it a chance, Thank you <3

It took a long time to come but come out was good

Let me make it clear first i watched this series as a someone who like zombie movie and series not as a bl fan and i enjoyed it, it was entertaining(actors did amazing job their acting was really good), messy(they did really well with this point to, production team put their good work here) and zombie where cruel like how they always been.
Now for story line it was little bit dramatic but still ok(they have to many good and kind people who don't think with their mind but with heart) and yeah zombie have emotions too 😌

good attempt

Everything about this vertical drama is impressive, but I do have one issue the female lead’s acting. Whenever there’s an intimate or seductive scene, her expressions don’t come across as sensuous; instead, they feel a bit vulgar, almost as if she’s portraying a prostitute rather than creating a romantic or passionate vibe.

i loved ML acting .

Some aspects also felt off, like the repetition of her outfits and how the villainess had a much more glamorous wardrobe. It almost made it seem like the second female lead was the main character, while the actual female lead looked more like part of the supporting cast.

I’m a huge fan of POB, so when I first watched this drama which slightly deviates from POB while keeping its essence I honestly thought it was terrible. But after watching it again today, I realized it’s actually quite good in its own way. Both dramas are great; they just differ in tone and style.

Who knew.....

Who knew that Thailand can do a good sci-fi drama that can sit amongst the world's offerings with pride. Truthfully, I was pleasantly shocked. Veering away from Thailand's penchant for dragging a story with unnecessary fillers and histrionic character portrayals, this was concisely wrapped and delivered on the perfect platform, Netflix, the doorway to the world. DMD chose the best of their stable of actors, and despite some minor moments, they were credible.

One could imagine the daily drudge of Aunt Jit, going from job to job to enable a son with a gambling habit. Then diving into the portrayal of the zombie leader, rabid and ferocious, Jaa made it happen. It's sad to note that many older actors are given bit parts when clearly given the opportunity, they can bring life the the screen. Dr Viroj, the frustrated overworked science professor, locked between duty and love filled admirably by Weir. Boy, from Mandate, also come to mind.

As the story evolved, this progressed at a respectable pace, with no jarring splices. The carnage and chaos maximized by the accompanying musical score. Graphics, wardrobe, makeup depts were of the best. Every interraction that more believable because of it. The roles selected for each cast member were aptly chosen though it was evident that they delivered at different levels. Jimmy, Janis, Praew and Max stood a step above the rest. Praew became the cunning conscience and agent of change Prao. The cheerleaders and jocks, in their respective groups, filled in adequately with the spot of humor and arrogance needed to balance the tone. Who does a cheerleader chant with a building overun by zombies in an effort to save one? See, humor. Self preservation is innate unless the person you love represents the best part of you and worth saving. How to differentiate? Bonds are broken and betrayed with the fight to collectively stay alive.

I was saddened that they still linked Zee and Nunew as being close, hinted relationship here. I would have loved to see them go head to head and break away from the expectation. With the actual reveal, they're still linked. Hey, why jeopardize the cash cow, right?

The only issue I would take with the ending would be the time frame. A month later, the serums have been issued and there is hope. Are we to believe that the students, left as insignificant cast offs, have survived the entire time with no one else dying, making secret forays for food and the zombie population contained within the school and not venturing out for fresh victims. That is a stretch and a reason for a special episode to bring clarity. The bait left behind, which I believe Ning and Viroj have disappeared to retrieve, was brilliant.

This series depicted how well this genre can be produced when time, vision and dedication to the artform is encouraged and financed properly. DMD and Mandee, by extention Thailand, kudos. You did well.

If only their budget was double!

The story at first reminded me a lot of Alice in Borderland- cool games, great scenario and a storyline that makes sense. I would have loved to see more games especially for the 8 episodes, one on each or maybe two would have made it more fun to watch (instead of multiple mini games). would definitely watch a second series, hopefully they spend more than they spent here, because it has great potential!!!!!
Personally- Aom was a character that I couldnt bear to watch, the "omg idk what to do moments" were too cringe. Did you think the same?

dark supernatural series

Overall: if you do not enjoy scary movies, then I would recommend steering clear of this. I appreciated that the plot was different from most fluffy romance BL series. 13 episodes about 55 minutes each. Aired on iQIYI https://www.iq.com/play/1jlxfsemc40?sh_pltf=4&lang=en_us and the first episode was on Change2561 YouTube channel https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLc3B9DM2kKP7Eh7SULRh_-5aKWFeCqVnx&si=uzVxyQ3ieerov9Hg (not in Japan or Korea)

Content Warnings: there are a ton of them including past and current murders, blood and repeated gruesome images

Note: I was going to try to do timings to focus on romance and take out the content warnings but it was impossible. Where they frequently meet at the police station you can see gruesome images on the wall behind them. Romance of the main pair kicks into high gear in episode 6.

What I Liked
- production value (especially the makeup/costuming for the scary elements)
- mystery/supernatural element
- tension

Room For Improvement
- there were several nonsense actions/because the writer said so things, episode 12 was a ton of ridiculousness that pulled me out of the story
- did not like how characters didn't believe their romantic partners, the romance sometimes fell flat compared to the horror
- unless I missed it, I'm not clear on why the 2nd CP broke up so I couldn't root for their relationship since it seemed kind of doomed because I didn't know that they fixed whatever sank it the first time

Attention grabbing drama

I don’t normally go for fantasy wuxia dramas, but this one grabbed my attention and didn’t let me go. (From start to finish binged in 3 days.)

A lot of cute moments between the main leads especially in the beginning which was refreshing. So much to giggle about. The chemistry between the main leads was really good. And the acting felt real. Didn’t take me out of the drama.

The visuals were amazing. The special effects looked very good compared to other similar storyline dramas. Not to mention the costumes. Those were really pleasing to look at with the makeup and hairstyles.

The storyline was strong. A lot to enjoy, but unfortunately i thought the last episode was lacklustre compared to the beginning of the drama.

In conclusion, a very good drama to watch. Plenty of comedic moments. A lot of romance. With some tearful moments. Would recommend.

SHORT BUT OKAY

I would rate My Secret Vampire as ā€œOkay,ā€ which falls under my ā€œGoodā€ category. (My Own Ratings)

The series immediately caught my attention in the first episode—it was engaging and had a promising start. However, as the story progressed, it began to lose its charm. Some scenes felt a bit cringeworthy, and the pacing was noticeably rushed. Given that the show only has eight episodes with a 15-minute runtime each, I didn’t expect much depth, but I still hoped for a stronger development.

Overall, it’s not a very memorable series. In terms of rewatch value, it might appeal to some viewers, but for me, it’s about a 50-50 chance.

I actually decided to watch it after seeing an intriguing TikTok edit, which raised my expectations. While it turned out to be a cute series, it just wasn’t quite my thing.

MADE ME AN EMOTIONAL MESS BUT GAVE ME HOPE AS WELL

I always enjoy a good emotional drama with depth and strong characters.
This one was hard to watch at times, it made me ugly cry and even forced me to put it on hold for almost a year. Not because it wasn’t good, but because it was emotionally heavy and I couldn’t watch it casually after a while.

It had everything a good drama should have: a solid plot, even better characters, and a great balance of heartbreaking moments and light-hearted comedy. I think they handled the triggering topics and storylines very well. There was a wide range of cases and mental health issues that I believe many people can relate to in some way. Also the romantic scenes were super cute.

I really recommend checking the trigger warnings before watching, because although it may seem like a fluffy drama at first glance, it's actually very deep, and I don’t want anyone to feel overwhelmed or distressed while watching it.

The acting was incredible. My favorite scene was the one with the water, if you know, you know. It was breathtaking.
We definitely need more dramas with real mental-health representation. This one is absolutely worth it.

P.S. Somehow it gave me so much hope! I believe the title is super accurate, even in dark days there is always a daily dose of sunshine.

Aesthetically beautiful and good acting but what a frustrating romance story

I am a massive fan of Guo Yu Xin. I have only started exploring Liu Xiao Xu's dramas and so far I enjoy his acting. This drama was released after My National Husband so I expected Summer Rose to be as good as My National Husband. However I was disappointed once I finished the drama.

What I liked:
1. Framing - Beautifully shot drama that reminds me of a small but well-written indie film I used to watch. Directors certainly knew how to capture scene that are aesthetically memorable.
2. ML characterisation - It was endearing to see a stuffy ML who wasn't able to articulate his feelings. His personal struggle is different from other CEO MLs I have seen.
3. Acting - Both LXX and GYX employed a lot of "restraint" in their performances for this drama. They had magnetic chemistry which was more evident in the behind the scenes clip.
4. FL characterisation - I liked that her personality contrasted with ML's personality. She expressed most of her feelings including desire freely.
5. Supporting characters - I liked ML's grandmother and guest characters played by He Jian Qi and Wang Ge Ge.
6. Styling - What a gorgeous pairing of LXX and GYX. Beautiful outfits worn by both FL & ML. I am a fan of pyjamas and I loved the pair worn by GYX.

What I disliked:
1. FL's actions - She was stringing two men along when she broke off the engagement and pursued other man. I didn't like her at this point.
2. Writing - There was too much time spent to tell this story. I'm sorry to say some parts are draggy and boring and I struggled in the final hour of the drama. I must say that the writer and director wasted the talents of LXX & GYX.
3. Romance - Unfortunately I didn't buy their romance. There was too much push and lack of honest conversations. By the time they got together I already lost interest in this drama but just pushed through to mark this drama as complete.

Favourite scene
When FL seduced ML and succeeded.

Came for Liu Yuning, fell in love with the whole cast

I started watching this for Liu Yuning but quickly the rest of the cast enchanted me too. However, if you’re looking for a story with a happy ending perhaps this one is not for you as I cried through the last few episodes and the final scene left me so so sad.
The story revolves around a stupid, selfish Emperor who falsely condemns a group of warriors who die while protecting him. He gets kidnapped by an enemy kingdom and a retired general / head of one of 6 spy divisions, played by Yuning, leads a team tasked with rescuing him. This general takes up the challenge as he is determined to clear the names of the fallen warriors all of whom were personally known to him and his men.
The task force sent to bring the emperor home is made up of a shy and pathetic Princess disguised as a prince, an assassin from the enemy country bent on revenge against the people that killed her benefactor and men from the country’s 6 spy divisions many of whom all have their own reasons for volunteering.
This story has it all: action, romance, plot twists, fantastic character growth (the princess grows a backbone of steel), love, bonds of friendship and trust.
Liu Yuning’s character Ning Yuan Zhou is dynamic, funny, strong, vulnerable, you name it, he portrays it really well. Liu Shi Shi is brilliant as the kick ass, strong female lead Ren Xin and she is everything a strong female assassin should be wrapped up in a complex and sometimes vulnerable conundrum.
The other stand out performances of this series for me were He Lan Dou who plays Princess Yan who morphs from a pathetic, coddled and innocent young girl into a fearless woman of substance and Chen You Wei who played Yuan Lu a happy go lucky young lad with a life limiting illness.
The rest of the cast are incredibly well chosen and they provide humour and their own back stories and character development that helps to bring this story to life.
Would I watch it again? Absolutely

This series is a rare gem: intense, symbolic, and emotionally raw. From the very first episode, the plot and characters felt deeply authentic and compelling. The cast delivered powerful performances, especially Takahashi Hiroto and Wada Masanari.

The story explores the complex journey between hate and love, death and redemption. Odajima is sent to kill Kataoka, but their evolving relationship challenges the meaning of killing, both physically and emotionally. The car scene, repeated with contrasting energy, symbolizes their transformation. What was once a space of violence becomes one of vulnerability and choice. In the end, Odajima chooses chooses not to kill, and Kataoka chooses life breaking the cycle of repression and obedience.

LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!

I absolutely loved episode 1 — what an epic opening! One of the things that really stood out to me was the OST, especially the instrumental version used in the opening. The tragic vibe hit so perfectly. 🄰

Pooh and Pavel’s acting was no joke either — they’ve seriously leveled up from PitBabe! When Thup was scared, I just wanted to hug him and protect him from everything. And when Singha looked lost in his investigation, I could truly feel his emotions. Their chemistry? Out of this world! Exactly what you’d expect from a couple who just won the Best Chemistry Award. šŸ‘šŸ»šŸ‘šŸ»šŸ‘šŸ»

I’m not usually into zombie shows, but since a bunch of my favorite actors were in this one, I decided to give it a shot and I’m so glad I did. It’s definitely going on my ā€œbest of the yearā€ list. I binge-watched all seven episodes in one go because I just couldn’t stop, each episode got more intense and compelling as the story unfolded.

Zomvivor is more than just a survival thriller, it’s a powerful metaphor for the fragility of civilization, the limits of morality, the abuse of power, and the fight to hold onto humanity in extreme situations. The zombies aren’t just physical threats; they represent the socially excluded, the ones ignored or silenced by the system, forced to find ways to survive in oppressive environments. As the show puts it: ā€œThe best test subjects are the ones who have no choice.ā€

What really sets Zomvivor apart is how it challenges the usual zombie trope. These aren’t mindless monsters, they’re infected people who still show traces of humanity. That twist adds so much emotional depth.

The university setting works as a microcosm of privilege and power, where survivors have to navigate hierarchies, moral dilemmas, and social exclusion. It’s not just about fighting zombies, it’s about confronting rules, expectations, inequality, and personal demons. Trust, friendship, and family bonds are pushed to the limit, and unlikely alliances form in the chaos. Each group fights to survive using whatever strengths they have.

The cast is phenomenal. Every character feels emotionally layered and real. You can feel their fear, anguish, sadness, desperation, and guilt. The emotional weight and personal struggles are the heart of the series. The last two episodes had me in tears.

Each episode runs a little over an hour, but they fly by. The pacing is intense and gripping, with some plot twists that keep things fresh. The production quality is top-tier, stunning cinematography and a beautiful soundtrack. Already counting down to the next season cause there’s so much more story to tell.
