The Wildfire's Whisper Brushes Her Soul

FL is Femdom to complete story mission but younger ML ends up liking it & obsessed.
(I rate vertical dramas on their own sliding scale. General spoilers only.)Very interesting BDSM-toned story. The writting wasn't that great and messy in spots, but the dynamic between the characters and the acting kept me engaged throughout! The story also stayed focused on the leads. The FL is sadistic to her adopted younger "brother" in order to raise his darkness level so she can complete her mission in this book world and go home. However, she actually cares about the ML so can't help taking care of him secretly or in the guise of giving orders. But the ML notices and it appears that over time this hot-cold sadistic approach has honed a masochistic side in him and an obsessed attachment to the FL. Later, when the FL finds herself back in this world after a few years, she falls back into her hot-cold patterns. But at the end, it is very clear that they are both actively choosing their roles in this dynamic and enjoy it. I loved that.
Both leads inhabit their roles well; the ML especially did a great job showing to the audience his enjoyment of mistreatment, but also his genuine emotional pain when the FL seemed to show interest in people over him. They had good chemistry and a few realistic kiss scenes.
The plot and system mechanics, especially in the second half, require a lot if suspension of disbelief. But if you can do that (and are interested in this type of story) this is good for one watch.
I'm rating this a little higher than the writing warrants because I ejoyed this uncommon, interesting, and slightly more nuanced approach to BDSM (compared to other Chinese vertical dramas).

Nothing Burger
Oh wow...what a nothing burger of a series. Considering the entire story revolves around Im Sera’s tragic accident 25 years ago and her journey back to reclaim her stardom, the finale completely failed to deliver. Sure, the mystery behind the accident was technically resolved but the payoff was shallow. The villains’ downfalls were barely shown and the supposed politician mastermind remained a faceless, irrelevant figure from start to finish. He had maybe four scenes total, none of which gave him any real impact or substance, so when the truth finally came out, it felt more like "Okay? That’s it?” than a satisfying reveal. And then that ending… honestly, what was that? We jump ahead to Bong Chaengja having founded her own company and finally achieving her dream of winning at Cannes with Dongko being there and then, just moments later in the press conference scene, she refers to him as “a former acquaintance who was dear to her,” and suddenly he’s in the audience asking her to move beyond a “professional” relationship? It felt like the writers couldn’t decide which ending to go with so they just awkwardly included both.
In the end, nothing really landed. Honestly, I should’ve just left this one dropped after episode 3. What did I even watch it for? Because as a whole, this was one big, directionless mess that didn’t know how to end.

The series that wanted to be high caliber and ended up being a soap opera.
I was disappointed; the plot and the story in general didn't satisfy me. I feel there was much more potential; they didn't know how to give it a proper script, the actors seemed lackluster, it needed more energy, it seemed too naive. As for the roles, the first lady identified with her character; her husband was depressing, completely ignorant, which I find ridiculous; the villains lacked energy in their characters, some only showed facial expressions and that was it; the daughters were far too naive, I expected at least one of them to be more intelligent, perhaps show some ambition.
The soundtrack needs further improvement; it didn't feel impactful at all.
Overall, it's cheap melodrama, with facile feminism and second-rate villains. The worst part is the way they handle divorce in the opening scene—"one kiss and divorce." I was expecting a thriller, a drama, a suspense series. Instead, I feel like I stumbled upon a soap opera romance that was meant to resemble a presidential enlightenment drama, but it just didn't quite work.
Honestly, based on the written synopsis, I felt it had a lot of potential. As I mentioned, they didn't capitalize on the central theme, which was a dramatic series with elements of thriller, politics, betrayal, conspiracy, and divorce. They should have improved.
Even so, thanks are due to everyone involved in the production; hopefully, they will continue to improve.

Started, stayed and finished just for Zhao Lusi!
I enjoyed this drama, but I don't completely buy the male lead's redemption arc. I understand, for the purpose of the storyline and genre, that he needed to appear changed and that he realised the error of his ways. I felt the music/soundtrack played a huge part in portraying this and giving the audience clues about how we should feel. However, if you strip that all away, his 180 was too abrupt and not entirely earned. Perhaps it was because his portrayal of the domineering, manipulative CEO archetype was so good. He came across as so callous and cold in episode 14, and coupled with Xu Yan's subsequent heartbreak/ breakdown, it made his character unforgivable if I'm honest. It all seemed too 'real'. I think this is where Kdramas often have the edge - these scenarios are usually played out with a 'manhwa lens', so you know from the start that the ML is a red flag (think What's Wrong with Secretary Kim/ When the Phone Rings, etc.). In Love Ambition, Shen Haoming seems so genuine at first, but then his true persona rears its vicious, ugly head. And then we're just supposed to believe he changes again.Of course, Zhao Lusi has this magical quality of selling the trauma and betrayal, like she's truly lived it. Her crying scenes are always so raw and overflowing with emotion. In similar dramas, you don't usually portray scenes like this unless you really want the audience to hate the male character, whom usually then becomes the pathetic second lead whilst the ML swoops in and helps to heal the FL. Nevertheless, I do love how Xu Yan then became stronger, more confident and independent.
I agree that Xu Yan's lies about her background were bad and she essentially committed fraud. However, she didn't fabricate this lie until after they were already together (therefore, she did not lie to him from the start/to be with him). Yet he manipulated her from the very beginning - he wanted to see how far she would go and even took pleasure or amusement from it. Her emotions were genuine and sincere (which ultimately helped him to realise what he had lost). EVERYTHING she did was for him: whether to help him succeed or to enable her to be accepted by those around him. His lies were deceitful and only served to help him: to mask his true, calculating nature.
I think it could have worked IF they hadn't gone so far with the betrayal in episode 14 AND if the redemption arc had focused mostly on HIM doing everything to serve her, not for any gain, not for forgiveness, but simply because she deserved it. As it was, I actually hated the storyline where she had to help him (once again) with the business deal. It could have worked if that had come later, perhaps. Ultimately, I enjoyed the drama but only because I'm a huge fan of Zhao Lusi. It left a bitter taste, and it was one of the few times I would have been happy for a drama not to end with the quintessentially 'happy ending'. It would have worked just as well, if not better, as a story of self-realisation, overcoming trauma and betrayal, and achieving your own success with your strong, female-centric team.

A dark and layered tale about love, lies, and legacy – with a bit too much story
Between fake identities, serial killers, and buried traumas, this drama delivers a packed plot — just not always at the right pace.Disclaimer: This review is 100% my opinion — I’m not here to hate, just to share my thoughts! Also, SPOILERS AHEAD, so proceed with caution if you haven’t watched yet. Watch it, come back and let’s see if you agree. Let’s keep the discussion respectful and fun! 💕
The Good:
Suspense On Suspense On Suspense
This show was thriller galore! Every time the story jumped to a new case, it was so engaging. I think the key was that, aside from the little boy’s arc, all the cases ended up being connected, making every twist feel intentional rather than random. The pacing was so well thought out.
A surprisingly wholesome love story (minus, you know… the crime)
I loved that Hyun Soo and Ji Won were genuinely in love. Their family dynamic was so sweet, and it was refreshing to see a K-drama couple that wasn’t secretly miserable or hiding petty resentment (outside the whole serial killer thing, obviously).
Watching Ji Won battle her feelings as a detective vs. her love for Hyun Soo was so compelling. And the fact that they kind of worked together to uncover his true emotions? Heartwarming. I liked seeing him realize he did love her. It gave their relationship more emotional weight.
The Bad
Dragged Out — Especially Towards the End
As much as I loved the suspense, there were definitely some dull moments, particularly near the end. If a show could function perfectly fine without a full hour-long finale, did it really need to be there?
When a show is highly rated/recommended, I tend to hype it up too much, expecting flawless storytelling but this made me realize maybe I set the bar too high. It was good, but there were definitely noticeable slow parts too.
They Made Him Seem Like the Bad Guy… But He Wasn’t
Look, I love a good fake-out — the kind where the story has us side-eyeing someone only to flip the script. But here? It felt excessive. Hyun Soo didn’t just look like the bad guy , he acted like one. I mean, tying someone up in your basement and trying to force pills down their throat when they ask a question you don’t like, isn’t exactly giving “wrongly accused soft boy.” The show wasn’t hinting at him being guilty, it was straight-up telling us he was the killer, only to swerve at the last second and say, “Surprise, he’s completely innocent!”
Why Did Hae Soo Let Him Live Like That for YEARS?
Why did Hae Soo let Hyun Soo live as a fugitive all those years? She clearly cared about him when they were younger, so it doesn’t make sense that she let him take the fall for something he didn’t do. I get that she had trauma, too. But even if she couldn’t face things for herself, why not do it for him? Instead, it felt like she chose lifelong guilt over taking any real action to protect her brother. (Glad she got justice, though.)
He Lost His Memory at the End… Why?
I have a soft spot for drama, obviously, but Hyun Soo losing his memory at the end felt like pure filler. It didn’t add anything meaningful to the story, and in fact, it robbed us of closure. After everything he went through, clearing his name, his emotional journey with Ji Won, facing his trauma, we’re supposed to accept that he doesn’t remember any of it? That he finally earned peace, only to lose the memories that gave it meaning? The ending only left me feeling the same kind of pity for him as I did throughout the show.
Ji Won Gave Up on Hyun Soo?! LOLL
This one made me chuckle … but like, in a sad way. Ji Won really went through everything with Hyun Soo, risked her job, almost died multiple times… and then was ready to bounce to Busan the moment he lost his memory? I get it, she was probably done emotionally, but it just felt off. She knew how much he suffered, how isolated he was. So to be ready to leave him behind right when he needed her most? It didn’t sit right. If there was more depth to her decision, I’d be more understanding. But I’m not gonna read between the lines for hidden meaning that wasn’t there. So, yeah… it was giving “I tried” energy, but also “girl what?”
Final Thoughts
This show was really good when it was good. The suspense, the twists, the acting — top-tier. But when it dropped from mountain-high excitement to deep-sea slow, it was painfully obvious. I get that shows need slower parts to give context and build up to the next big thing, but there’s a fine line between slowing down for effect and slowing down to a near-complete stop.
Unfortunately, those dragged-out moments ended up sticking with me more than the parts that had me on the edge of my seat. The emotional whiplash just didn’t balance out in the long run ; which is a shame because when Flower of Evil was thrilling, it was REALLY thrilling.
At the end of the day, I get why people loved this show. If you’re into thrillers, twists, and a touch of psychological intrigue, this drama has a lot to offer.

What did you think of the show? This wasn't even all my thoughts haha! I just summarised the most relevant bits but I still think you got my point (hopefully) 😊

Brutal honor. Human greed.
Viewing a historical drama from the bottom up offers a fresh perspective from the typical top down hierarchical stories of royalty. every nation is built upon the hard-working backs of the poor and middle class. this story shares the notion that one person’s honor can make a difference in conquering human greed.Rowoon brings this tortured character to life and embraces the Korean spirit to its fullest.
And his gruff masculinity is as enticing as his eye-candy leading roles have been. You can almost taste, I mean smell, the sweat pouring off of him. Hope to see him in more roles as challenging as this one.

All Of Us Are Not So Dead
That one girl with the alarm ringtone, girl meet me outside...I ain't finna jump ya! Also Pao, brother why? And let's be honest, most of the characters on this show were very annoying and had me wishing they'd hurry up and get bitten, but when all was said and done, I actually enjoyed myself. Let me explain.Listen, this genre is not for me, so I wasn't gonna watch it. But then I opened Netflix and it was there, and I was like, hey, I know these cast, finally something available in my country, so why not? And frankly, I am not sorry. Yes, I closed my eyes at scenes when creepy music starts playing, was yelling at characters who got under my skin, and was sad in other scenes, but overall, a nice watch for Halloween.
Okay, let me get this straight. So this old guy they called Patron, doesn't wanna be immortal but don't want his corpse to rot? And that's the legacy he wanna leave behind, that he dies but his body lives on? Why not go for the immortal thing? Also did the whole thing feel like some family issue and the whole population was just collateral damage? That mother made her family problem everyone else's, and that old guy.. Really, Bob? That's the legacy you want to leave behind? What the hell is the point of your corpse if you are still dead??? Make it make sense, Sharon!
THINGS I LIKED
- PHU: So like we were all rooting for Phu, right? Dude needs to survive, otherwise what's the point?
- Did anyone else clapped a bit when Korn, Gus, Earth and Aek showed up in that rainy scene all zombie hunter like? Same.
- When Aek saved them from Pao... cuz boy was on my last nerve. I got him, understood his reason and was with him, but damn dude, if you wanna die go die alone, don't be making all that noise. In fairness, he did wanna go alone the first time, but those humans held him back.
- Characters having backstories, and not just surface 2d stuff. It made me care for most of them.
- I like whatever it's happening to Lily, though not gonna lie, I was waiting that whole time for her to eat Win, cuz dude why is you sitting so close to her? And was Night's whole solution to get zombies high and hope they are buzzed enough for them to ran away? Hahaha lmao.
- That one annoying girl who is just there to cause drama and be in everyone's business... girl why? but also thanks for the drama. Girl just won't shut up, so every time she came on screen, I was ready for her to stir things up XD.
- That we all thought San and Non were cheating. LMAO, the delulu was strong in this one. Plus the sister was making googgly eyes at Jean so I was... very sure they were cheaters ^^shame on us.
- That random cheerleading routine. I was confused but also laughing cuz, okay stupid children, why don't you be super loud with cheers when you should be shouting the eff up cuz, you know, zombies are literally outside!!!
- That ending had me so emotional, my poor, brave Non. Season two, please.
THINGS I DIDN'T LIKE
- What part of... 'when bitten, they get infected and become zombies' did most of these people not get? Like, they'd all scream and try to go to their infected friends. Dude, your friend is trying to eat you, why you wanna run to them?
- Stupid characters getting ones I like killed. I was all in for Aek and then it was ruined cuz poor Pao decided to be a dumbarse, No, but how many people did he get killed all cuz he couldn't carry a girl and ran at the same time? Wasting his life and causing his brother more trauma in the process, for shame.
- I will not get into the whole San, Ning and Jean thing, cuz let's be real, all three hit a nerve one point or another. Though they did have their moments.
- Earth leaving everyone to die cuz he's hurting and doesn't care and hate everyone, only to go confront his zombie friend and then start fighting and screaming when the zombie tried to eat him. Like dude dafug you thought was gonna happen? A luncheon? smh.
- That one girl with the alarm clock. And the fact she didn't just hurl her phone away and let it keep ringing and ringing. Ahhhhh.
Anywho, overall, a decent watch. Plotwise, interesting origin story, haven't watched a lot of zombie movies, so this one felt very zombie and good to me. The cast ensemble blended well together, and did their best, some very well. I liked most of the characters and disliked some as well, but it all added to my enjoyment of the series. I don't like horror but I still enjoyed this, so, I'll recommend it to anyone who like any of the cast, or just looking for a decent zombie show to watch .
Happy Halloween

A man is weakest when in love, and most malevolent when devoid of it.
I stumbled upon this drama by chance, I still don't remember what made me watch it, was it an edit or a review I read, I just impulsively started it and I finished it in one day.... Of course I skipped some scenes because DUH! It's 40ep!! I ain't got the patience for that ~~But I understand now why everyone is complementing PGY, this is the first drama I've seen for him and he was spectacular!!
The story is nice, a smart cat and mouse games between the two leads, but we can summarise the whole idea of the drama as I said in the headline, because this was what the whole drama revolve around.
Feng Xiao Sheng before falling in love... And Feng Xiao Sheng after ...
The intelligent evil mastermind manipulative FXS has become the weakest slippery and impulsive character after falling for KY, he couldn't even harm her, and he was the cruelest person who treated her with absolute violence.
I knew from the scene where she held his face and asked him to listen to her first before doing anything and he immediately stopped hurting her that he was lost forever, he was attracted to her but now .. it's a hopeless case, because pardon me, the FL mind games were too predictable and the ML was always 4 steps ahead.
I loved him more as the evil manipulative character who is always one step ahead of everyone, be that as it may I'm extremely satisfied with the ending, I mean you don't really expect us to simply forget everything he did and that he is a crazy killer and a bully who ruined a good surgeon's future, right?? He also abused and hit a woman, oh and did I mentioned he KILLED PEOPLE!!! Because the comments I see sympathising with him are hilarious, a good actor doesn't justify his character's evil deed, I mean he was amazing but he is evil!! He deserves what he got!!
Now why did I focus my review on the ML only? Because that's the only good thing about this show!! I'm terribly sorry but the only thing I enjoyed watching was how the two leads fought eachother through mind games, aside from that the police, the family, the gang, the company stuff and the reporters ... All that was uninteresting!! Only the two leads were amazing, and I also didn't talk much about the FL despite doing a great job in her role too because the ML simply outshine her.
That been said, I don't think it deserves 40 episodes, I mean it could be shorter, and it has too many characters with too many side stories which was unnecessary, because I skipped a lot of scenes and still got everything about the story and I didn't feel like I missed anything ~

Hooked Already
The first episode instantly pulls you in with its intriguing premise and impressive visual quality. The acting has definitely levelled up, adding depth to the story’s mysterious tone. It’s a strong start with great production value — I’m genuinely curious to see where the series goes from here. Was this review helpful to you?

Sometimes I prioritise my feelings for a drama over my opinion about the quality of the plot
I really have my griefs against this drama and I even lost the track with the plot around ep 27/28 so normally I wouldn't give a high rating like this but honestly I can't rate it below 9 because I really had a great time most of the episodes.Firstly the OST, costumes, visuals were great, they really put some efforts in it. Secondly, the acting was nice, Lu Yu Xiao did a great job (like always 🩷). Same for Hou Ming Hao I found his acting nice contrary to the critics I've seen, specially when he was supposed to be emotional.
I also felt the cast had a great chemistry overall : the comedy parts landed well, the interactions between the characters were good too.
The thing I like the most about this drama was of course the relationship between Ji Bozai and Ming Yi, but that's also the thing that annoyed me the most. I loved their bond, how they trusted each other, always defending the other : it felt like they're two minds in one body. I think they did a great job to show their hearts were sync.
However I'm not gonna lie, I felt the misunderstanding between them dragged too long : 26ep to resolve the misunderstanding about Ming Yi's identity was too much. I'm not questioning the reason why they both acted like they did because it felt valid. Nonetheless, it wasn't a great writing choice to prolong this situation because at the end you just get annoyed about the two of them even if you're fine with their justification in the first place.
This situation repeated and the 2nd time it was Ji Bozai who was hiding something. At this point I lost the track with the plot but I understood he wanted to sacrifice himself to save everyone. The reason is not that stupid but at this point of the story not many episodes are left, so they should've just pushed for a cooperation between our couple instead of break them apart.
This tendency to create a drama where it's not needed is common in dramas but hold no interesting purpose for the story so it might as well stop.
Apart from the repeated misunderstanding, Situ Ling's plot was not good. He replaced Mu Qibai who was doing a great job as the main antagonist but like always with those 2ML it's just painful to watch. Instead of using their relationship with the FL to overcome the difficulties, they always choose to entertain their own fantasy to the point of paving their own demise.
For Situ Ling, he has chosen to mix his inferiority complex (about not having spiritual veins) with his feelings for Ming Yi and came to conclusion he had to became strong for Ming Yi to like him. Of course that's not true but that was painful to watch, I even skipped some of his scenes because I was too annoyed. And it's a shame because at the first I didn't hate him, he was fun to watch but once his love became obsessive he was unbearable. Maybe one day we will be free from those crazy 2ML in c-drama land
The other supporting characters were underused, I would've love to see a real story between Tianji and Yan Xiao. It's kinda a shame but not a scandal since the MC's relationship was great.
Anyway, this drama is not perfect (like every drama) but it was great and I recommend it strongly because it's one of the best that came out this year.

Disappointed
Actually, it’s not that they don’t have chemistry, but there’s something off — I just can’t figure out what it is. The storyline is okay, but it’s written in such a boring way that I ended up fast-forwarding and skipping a lot.About the characters, I found Achi to be a really dull character. Because of that, I didn’t feel any romance at all. It felt like Karan was the only one in love — he’s sensitive, caring, and loving, but it seems like he’s loving alone.
I actually prefer the second couple; they’re cute and both act really well. But the writer’s character development is zero.
Overall, I had a lot of hopes when I started watching, especially after knowing the plot, but it turned out to be so dull that I barely managed to finish it.

Started off quite well, good script, enough eye candies, and gives you the jitters alright
I like that we are getting so many horror-suspense themed BL dramas these days....and this landed right on Halloween night, so I guess they timed it like that intentionally. Frankly, I wasn't expecting a lot from this one and started watching simply because I was intrigued by the synopsis and trailer earlier, but I actually ended up liking the first episode quite a bit.It started off really well...leaving out a few logical loopholes here and there, which us BL watchers are mostly seasoned to by now, its pretty well scripted, and believable...acting, cast, production values, make-up, sets, all of it is quite good too. I think the scares are pretty good too, comparing with other Thai BL shows.
While I haven't watch Pit Babe, I like the lead pair's chemistry in this one so far. Also, Pavel is looking delish as SIngha, and so is the guy who plays King.....it seems like Singha and King have some beef from how Singha was staring daggers....I have a hunch that King may be part of the bad guys.
All in all, I would say it's safe to watch.

A BL Masterpiece in 2025 ✨
I honestly wonder why this series isn’t talked about much on social media. For me, it’s one of the best BLs of 2025 — I’d even call it a masterpiece. Love in the Moonlight reminds me a lot of To Sir, With Love. It’s a fast-paced, melodramatic show with multiple antagonists, centered on money and power greed, forbidden love, social expectations, and even homophobia.I genuinely love historical dramas like this. Not everyone can pull off such a top-notch plot and production in this genre. Every scene has a purpose — there’s not a single moment that feels boring. Even though the episodes are long, they never drag. Each one is intense, emotional, and engaging. It’s the kind of series where you can’t wait for the next episode and you keep wondering what will happen next.
Of course, there’s a love triangle, but don’t judge too quickly — one of them is actually forced into marriage. The story focuses more on coming out and fighting for one’s true self rather than infidelity. As for the romance between Sasin and Saenkaew, they start off not getting along, but their bond and love develop naturally and beautifully.
Saenkaew’s secret might seem obvious, but the events that follow are far from predictable. And even though there are several antagonists, you’ll understand their motives and desires, which makes it hard to actually hate them. There’s also a bit of comedy — Inthorn and his wife are hilarious villains with all their sneaking and spying around.
Peak, Pearl, and Perth all delivered outstanding performances, and the supporting cast shined as well. Everything about this show feels carefully made, and you can really tell the production value is high. Set in the 1960s, the details are impressive — from the vintage houses, cars, trains, and outfits — it truly transports you to that era.
I also adored the original soundtrack. Every time the nightclub singer performed, it felt like I was right there in the scene. Speaking of the nightclub, I love how they made it a safe space for everyone, including LGBTQ — such a thoughtful touch.
If I could rate this series 10000/10, I definitely would. Overall, Love in the Moonlight is a well-crafted Thai BL with excellent production, talented cast, and perfectly chosen soundtracks.
