Mildly entertaining, mildly exhausting!

This was my first time watching Exchange and it was definitely a ride. I have mixed feeling about it. While the concept hooked me at start and it was definitely entertaining to guess who are the exes, it definitely didn't need 21 episodes to make its point. I feel like the pay off after investing so much time was too little and very dull.

Bringing exes together is obviously going to cause chaos, but a lot of it felt very staged. The drama was doing the absolute most, like the show was trying way too hard to convince us it was “real.” I know it’s a reality dating show, but half the time it felt like I was watching a scripted K-drama with worse acting.
It was unpredictable, no doubt... but in a very predictable way. I mean I could guess most of the final couples way before the finale. The twists did not feel shocking, just expected moments dressed up as surprises. Also, the decision to release 1 episode per week made me lose interest faster. I wish they had a better airing schedule.

As for favourites, honestly, I did not really have any. I liked different people at different points, but that never lasted. Every time I started thinking “okay maybe I like them,” they would immediately say or do something that made me regret everything. The manipulation and toxicity at times took me out. I don't know if it was the production demand or something...

Overall, the first half, specifically the first 10 to 12 episodes, was actually entertaining. After that, it turned into background noise real quick. Not sure I will be tuning in next season unless I hear some very convincing reviews.

A Timeless Tragedy of Love, Fate, and Loss

What makes Autumn in My Heart a classic even after all these years isn’t just its sadness, but how deliberately it explores fate, sacrifice, and emotional inevitability. The switched at birth trope isn’t used simply as a cliche. Instead, it becomes a way to question whether love is shaped by blood, upbringing, or choice. Honestly the writers did a great job at this because I question this all the time when I watch this drama.

Yun Eun Seo grows up surrounded by privilege and affection, yet once her true origins are revealed, she’s stripped of both stability and identity. Her decision to leave the life she knows and return to her biological mother isn’t framed as heroic, but as deeply human. It’s driven by guilt, empathy, and a sense of responsibility that defines much of her character throughout the series.

Yun Jun Seo’s character is equally tragic. From childhood, he unintentionally becomes the catalyst for nearly every turning point in Yun Eun Seo’s life. As an adult, this burden manifests as guilt and emotional restraint. His love for her feels like inevitability, as if loving her is something he was never able to escape. This is why their relationship, while romantic, is also heavy and painful. They aren’t just fighting societal boundaries or family expectations, they’re fighting years of shared history and unresolved guilt.

The romance itself is uncomfortable by design. Having grown up as siblings, their transition into lovers is meant to unsettle the audience, forcing viewers to confront the gray area between emotional bonds and social norms. I remember watching this and just finding it very weird. The drama doesn’t try to justify or romanticize this conflict easily. Instead, it lets the discomfort linger, which adds to the emotional weight and realism of their struggle.

Han Tae Suk stands out precisely because he represents an alternative path. Initially introduced as a stereotypical wealthy playboy, he undergoes the most visible growth. His love for Yun Eun Seo is active and intentional. He offers stability, presence, and honesty, yet ultimately loses because love in this drama isn’t about who is better or healthier, but about who is emotionally inevitable. Yun Eun Seo’s inability to fully see Han Tae Suk isn’t a failure of judgment, but a reflection of how deeply her past with Yun Jun Seo defines her present.

The illness plot, often criticized as melodramatic, serves a crucial purpose. It removes the possibility of a clean or logical resolution. Yun Eun Seo’s decision to live selfishly near the end isn’t selfish at all. It’s her first and only attempt to reclaim agency over her life after years of having her fate decided by accidents, family, and circumstance. Choosing Yun Jun Seo becomes less about romance and more about choosing familiarity, comfort, and emotional truth in the face of limited time.

Ultimately, Autumn in My Heart doesn’t offer emotional relief. It leans fully into longing, regret, and unresolved love. The chemistry between the three leads amplifies this, making every interaction feel loaded with unspoken emotion. Rewatching it as an adult reveals how layered the story truly is. It’s not just a tragic love story, but a meditation on how some relationships are formed not by choice, but by fate, and how those bonds can shape a person for life, even when they lead to heartbreak.

Song Seung Heon as Yun Jun Seo was a character I personally struggled with. I disliked how emotionally reserved he was, especially toward Eun Seo. It often felt like his guilt over her circumstances convinced him that he didn’t deserve happiness, which caused him to hold back when it mattered most. I wanted him to be more open and expressive with his love for her. That said, Song Seung Heon did a great job portraying Jun Seo’s internal conflict and emotional restraint, which ultimately made the character feel believable, even if frustrating.

Song Hye Kyo as Yun Eun Seo, also known as Choi Eun Seo, is especially impressive when you consider how young she was at the time. It’s almost unbelievable that she was only around 19 during filming. Despite her age, she delivered a deeply affecting performance. Her portrayal of Eun Seo is emotionally raw and fragile, and her scenes are absolutely heartbreaking. You don’t just see her pain, you feel it alongside her.

Won Bin as Han Tae Suk is another standout. It’s fascinating to think about how reserved and private he is in real life, considering how expressive and emotionally transparent Han Tae Suk is as a character. Yet he makes the role feel completely natural, almost as if he’s playing himself. His performance adds warmth and sincerity to Han Tae Suk, making it easy to understand why so many viewers were drawn to him and rooted for him despite being the second lead.

Watch when you are free

Main actress : good performance. She not shy at all when kiss scene and body touch especially with so good looking guy.
Main actor : why he always choose actress with very long hair? Expected he acting bad guy in modern drama. Romance and love drama for him not outstanding anymore. He is really handsome.

Sometime great resource are needed to be hit.

Okay when i watched this i have mixed emotion about it because sometimes it needs more privilege and luck to get noticed.

You can clearly see the difference between a high-budget and a regular short drama from this one. High-budget, high-quality scripts usually have a complete storyline, professional film editing, meticulous costumes and props, and clean cinematography. This drama embodies these characteristics, so its popularity is understandable.

I watched the first version and i quite like FL characterization of Rong Yu from Zhong Yujin (she was newbie but her characterization is the best from Tainai adaptation) but her supporting casts are not stellar compared to Li Keyi's version. I dropped Zhang Shan version and tried to watch Li Keyi version and yes i quite like the Ou Gang way for the grandpa. I was barely know about Zhang Tingyi back then but Wang Peiyan was quite well-known. However, Li Keyi's fit with the role isn't great, so aside from scenes created by cinematic language (wartime) and storytelling (the ship returning home and the chess game), some parts feel slightly jarring. The good thing is that it's a short drama, so the shots aren't too long, making it somewhat acceptable.

Still watchable and I love grandpa and Wang Peiyan character in here.

Amazing Vibes with Messy Writing

I’m honestly torn about this drama, because on one hand I did enjoy watching it and I was invested, but on the other hand… the writing frustrated me SO much that I can’t pretend it didn’t affect my overall experience.

Let’s start with the good.
The biggest saving grace of this drama is the actors and their chemistry. If their performances were even slightly weaker, I genuinely don’t think I would’ve finished this. The way they look at each other, their expressions, the comedy, the emotional moments, all of those felt real and natural. When things were good between them, I was smiling and enjoyed it quite a lot. The cinematography and overall vibe also really worked for me and gave the story a charm that I just couldn’t let go of, even when I was annoyed.

Now… the writing. Yeah. This is where my problems start.
I was fine with how they were building up their connection, the tension, the almost-lovers phase, it was nice. You root for them, the chemistry is there, the emotional pull is there. And then… instead of letting that naturally develop into a relationship when it naturally feels they should get into one and showing us growth while they are together, the story keeps blowing everything up with misunderstandings and emotional back-and-forth that felt forced and unnecessary.

They honestly became the biggest villains in their own love story. I’m sorry but their emotional timing was NEVER aligned and it made their journey more frustrating than satisfying.

Honestly, I really think they should’ve gotten together around ep 6 and after that the drama could’ve explored healing, past trauma, and how they grow as a couple. Instead, we got episode after episode of miscommunication, and by the time they finally became a couple, proper couple content we got felt like crumbs. Their chemistry didn’t even get time to fully shine before the story moved on to past trauma arc and side plots.

The conflict dialogue often felt weak to me. In important emotional scenes I sometimes couldn’t even fully understand what the characters were trying to express or why they were reacting the way they did, it just felt messy and tiring instead of feeling emotionally clear.

Honestly, the love triangles weren’t even the main issue (as I initially thought they'd be). The real problem was the leads and how badly they communicated with each other. On top of that, the side ML felt poorly developed and emotionally flat, so he ended up just pushing the plot instead of adding meaningful emotional tension.

That said… despite ALL of this, I still can’t say I disliked the drama because when it was cute, it was REALLY cute.
When it was funny, I laughed. When they were soft with each other, I felt it. So yeah, my heart enjoyed it more than my brain did, all thanks to the actors.

In the end, I gave this an 8/10, not because I think it’s a perfectly written romance, but because the actors, chemistry, atmosphere and emotional vibe were strong enough to keep me watching and emotionally engaged until the end. It’s the kind of drama where I’m glad I watched it, but I also know it could’ve been SO much better with stronger writing and better pacing of the relationship. Would I rewatch it? Probably not. Did I enjoy watching it the first time? Yeah, I really did (even while yelling at my screen).

Romeo & Juliet, BL style :)

PLOT: The two leads have been neighbors since childhood, secret allies, because their families hate each other and argue daily over petty things. At university, they also belong to two rival departments (lots and lots of fights). But nothing prevents their feelings from evolving into something romantic, even passionate.

+++ The two leads are amazing, subtle, and cute (✿◠‿◠)
+++ The OSTs are pleasant.

### The friends (especially Wai) act more like middle schoolers than college students. You can't be that immature at 20-22 years old!

### The parents (Pran's mother & Pat's father) are unbearable, stubborn, and immature... Appalling!

=> The quality of this show is not the story or the production, it's the cuteness and the chemistry beetwen Nanon and Ohm (the 2 leads).

**************************************************

+++ Les OSTs sont agréables.

Mixed up teenage love

This drama is an extremely innocent story about first love crushes and how a group of teenagers deal with it. The problem is, everyone seems to have crushes on the wrong person. There's so much unrequited love in this drama, it gets extremely annoying to watch.
I'm not a fan at all of the lead male protagonist, Ren. Nothing against the actor, Kyohei Takahashi, but his character is so cold, boring and has zero personality ... and yet everyone seems to confess their love to him. I just don't get it. He's not a bad looking guy, but nothing else seems to play in his favor. To me, the only "normal" character is this series appears to be Takumi. He has a sense of humor, great personality and seems to show emotion better than anyone. Coki Yamashita does a great job at making him extremely likable.
The last episode left much to be desired as it ends. I see that a second season is coming out, so I'm hoping to see an overall improvement on the story, as well as the maturity of the characters.

The biggest Mame flop

Everything was perfect except the story itself. The costumes were perfect, good looking actors, good and decent acting performances, the best setting, a good budget and a solid fanbase for the lead actors. But what was the story about?
Why Kanin NEVER asked about his mom? Why did he have to learn about his country’s flag when he’s in his 20s? Like what was his father doing when teaching him about his country? Why could anyone get close to and harm the second in line of throne? Why Charan’s phone was not tapped? The old king was a control freak but did nothing to those who attempted to kill his grandson?
Nothing makes sense!

Like a meet cute in a bus

This was um.. cute!

I genuinely do not know what else to say because the series was basically 10 minutes start to finish and was essentially about someone's car being in the shop and them meeting a future love interest thanks to public transportation.

There's some weird conversations with AI, some actual cute conversations between human beings and of course there's a happy ending, because why not!

It's as filler as filler can get. If you're looking to bridge your last completed show and your next watch but you're kind of stuck on which one to choose, and you just need to scroll for ten minutes - go with this one.

BEST DRAMA EVER!!!!

Most satisfying, balanced, and creative drama, always keeping me truly interested. It is now my top historical Chinese drama. It surpassed "The Sword and the Brocade" as well as "Story of Yanxi Palace" in my list. It has been a true finding - stories within stories and interesting characters left and right.

Amazing storytelling on such a subject

It's more than a love story. Intertwined is the lead female's wounds around finding and holding onto love. I honestly cannot believe how the writer and director managed to portray this in such a beautiful, extraordinary and simplistic way. It's funny, quirky, lovable and insightful. A must-watch!

I feel everybody should watch this drama just for the story on facing your wounds and how they can show up - but to know it doesn't define you, nor your chances at being loved.

I love the concept of the translator and how that fitted in with the storytelling as a whole. This drama has been a great joy to watch.

I was not expecting this when I started watching this drama. I love how healing, wounds, thought patterns are cropping up more in dramas, taking us on a deeper connection with the characters and life situations, and portrayed in simple ways! For any audience member to resonate with, it’s allowing us to walk away with a more deeper understanding for our own situations.

One of THE most UNDERRATED series of 2026 so far!

When people see bad ratings, negative comments they think: "It must be really bad."

I always give these a chance. I was right again!

Is "Surely Tomorrow" perfect? No. Is it well-written? Yes. Is there any melodrama that is perfect? Not really. Other than the finale being rushed a bit, and that one MAJOR event, I didn't have any problem with it. Even that was just life. Was it necessary to include it? Well, it's about personal point of view.

This drama is NOT FOR EVERYONE! If you want another cute romcom where the characters don't have real-life struggles, just another fairy tale. Don't watch this. People say it's unrealistic, this would never happen in real life, even though there are multiple instances when a celebrity or a rich person has to break-up with their partner due to their families or backlash from the general public. Especially in Korea.

Our two main characters met as 20 year olds, fell in love, then life said otherwise. When you're young you don't know better, so they broke-up. They got another chance years later, but they had to break-up again because of much more complex reasons. It was totally understandable. It wasn't just another typical "I'm breaking up with you for your own sake" nonsense at all. The drama told us the reason! This isn't a Kdrama where you have to pay attention, because the writer spelled-out everthing, MULTIPLE TIMES.

Gyeong Do loving Jiu for 18 years, and not dating with anyone else is unrealistic? Not really. I could mention multiple people in my inner circle who did the same. Sure, it's not something that happens every day, most people would've moved on after the first break-up. Their love story wasn't just a typical kid romance. Maybe the first time, but not the second. Is Jiu a possessive or even obsessed woman? Maybe, but she's not toxic or a red flag. She's flawed just like everybody else. Just because she's a rich girl, doesn't mean her life is perfect. Her life was anything but perfect. She's a headstrong woman who knows what she wants, but because of her past, and the lack of love and care from her mother shaped her personality. This isn't me making excuses, this is just a fact. The minute she meets with Gyeong Do and his friends, she can finally breath, but it was always ruined because of a family drama. Doesn't matter how hard Gyeong Do is trying, he's just a young guy with no power. This isn't a fairy tale.

Their story is a prime example of what happens when people ignore problems rather than talking about them. Aren't we all the same? People always ignore problems, this is why so many relationships (not just romantic) end on a bad note. We can't really blame the characters when we're making the same stupid mistakes.

When they meet again as adults in their 30s, they're different people with the same feelings. That's why they can handle the situation better. Not to mention, their friends, Gyeong Do's family, and Jiu's sister are also helping them in many ways.

There's not much to talk about when it comes to their friends, because they're just there for them and that's all. Like I said, supportive friends, and that's a good thing to see. As for Jiu's sister, her story was also interesting and well-made. The writer could've done a better job with it for sure, but I don't have big complaints.

As I said above, other than a bit of a rushed finale, I don't have big problems with this drama. It was well-written, the directing and editing were good, just like the acting. Park Seojoon and Won Jian were great together.

What I loved about this drama the most is that it's a realistic teen to adult love story, and they didn't change at all. Even after multiple break-ups and struggles, they still respected each other, and bantered with each other. Even if the scene looked sad or melodramatic, they always made fun of each other or swore at each other, and that was funny.

Even if you don't like melodramas, the two main lead's chemistry and the way they're acting together is a massive postive.

"Surely Tomorrow" is an emotional rollercoaster. If you're not up for something like this, don't bother. If you can watch it with an open mind, and can understand a bit more complex characters, this is for you.

It's definitely worth your 12 hours.

Aigoo, DON'T OPEN THE DOORS, pls! Hehe

This is a different type of Horror Mystery.
Thriller, Mystery & Supernatural are my fav genres and are always very interesting to watch.
And so, Supernatural + Thriller Mystery is a great Combo and this is written well.

***
Story, Direction, Production and Cinematography are Very Good.

Story Narration is lil boring in few episodes (They just prolonged a good story in those eps).

Pacing is Very Slow for overall drama. Other than that, Everything else is Good and is very exciting n interesting to watch!!

Instead of 12 eps, this could have been done very well n crisp to the point in 9-10 eps, with lil better Pacing, better Execution n better Narration of the story.

The Title of the drama is very apt n BGM is Good.

***
Opening scene of the drama (ep 1), that scene of haunting by Supernatural, is just Woww!✨

Aigoo, Don't Open the doors! 🤭
(Ghost is the one, knocking :(
The concept of demon showing up at the door but with our face, is Wow)

I loved the episode in which, all the wandering ghosts attacked the village and professor struggled to ward them off.

First 7 eps are Very Good though Pacing is lil slow.
Next few eps are lil dragging, Pacing is too slow but tolerated just for the story and the mystery.
Last two eps are Very Good but rushed.

So except for those 2-3 eps in the middle, I loved every other episode.
Overall, the STORY IS CAPTIVATING!

***
There are multiple murders shown in initial episodes.
Different set of murders in each episode,
The police investigation of those by two police detectives,
In parallel, professor & FL's investigation for supernatural involvement in those murders and
How all these murders are connected --
Everything is well written.

The Mystery of
Whether the murders are done by ghost or humans,
Who the actual ghost is,
What happens, when the five items belonging to the ghost are found and
What happens, when the name and the true identity of the ghost is known --
All those Mysteries are well written and that Suspense is well maintained till the end of the drama.

The Search for the identity of the ghost and the related items and uncovering all the family secrets created a Nail-Biting Suspense and I loved it.

***
All Actors acted really well in their roles, especially FL n her ghastly smirks.

The Team is Good -- Two (FL & professor) searching for the identity of the ghost and two police detectives searching for the evidences in the murders and towards the end, all 4 working together.

***
The Haunting Scenes and the murders created an eerie vibe and are Very Good
(As a horror genre lover, I loved all those scenes -- No Jump scares but scary haunting scenes)

Initially, two folklore practices are shown -- One is about 2nd child in a family to be sacrificed and the other is to turn a young child into a juvenile spirit.
And so I expected two ghosts to be haunting families of FL and professor and killing everyone around them.
But it's well written how the ghost latching onto FL's body is connected to professor's family.

***
My Rating is 9/10
(can be 9.5, if the Pacing is better)

DON'T MISS TO WATCH THIS!

Not Great, Not Terrible, Just Complicated

Sweetheart Service is one of those BLs where I completely understand why the ratings aren’t glowing, and why it’s hovering around a 7, but I also don’t think it deserves to drop much lower than that. Is it the best BL out there? No. Is it the worst thing ever made? Absolutely not. It’s very much a “has potential, execution questionable” kind of series. Let’s start with what I liked, because there are things worth appreciating. First of all, the slow burn. And when I say slow burn, I mean painfully slow, the kind where you start wondering if the romance is stuck in buffering mode. But honestly? I didn’t hate it. The pacing worked for me emotionally, especially when it came to the kisses. When they finally happened, they were good, like actually worth the wait. Visually, the show was doing the most, in a good way. The bar scenes in particular? Immaculate vibes. Peak atmosphere. Everyone looked great, the lighting was on point, and Min U specifically, yeah, I get it. No notes. The little drawing animation storytelling moments were also a highlight for me. They pulled me into the story way more than standard dialogue scenes would have, assuming those drawings were done by humans and not AI, because if not, we need to talk. Now, unfortunately, this is where the cracks start showing, because the story is messy. Like, genuinely confusing at times. The conflict kept building up as if something big was about to happen, and then suddenly, it’s resolved. No payoff, no emotional explosion, just blink and you miss it. It felt anticlimactic in the worst way. Character relationships also weren’t handled well. Tae Ha and Yu Ha, for example, tell me why I genuinely thought Tae Ha liked Yu Ha as more than a “brother.” The jealousy, the behavior, the tension, it read romantic. So when nothing ever comes of that, I honestly felt gaslit. Like, did I imagine all of that? Was I projecting? Because it really felt like the show was hinting at something it never intended to address. The main couple, meanwhile, suffered from lack of development. Yes, they had moments, but once the conflict started, the relationship felt distant and weirdly empty. We’re told they care about each other, but we’re not really shown enough growth to feel it deeply. And Ha Su Yeon, yeah, no. She should have faced actual consequences. At first, I thought she was just going to be a diva. Instead, she turned out immature, manipulative, and annoying. The fact that she and Tae Ha teamed up to mess with Yu Ha’s life was wild, and not in a fun way. That’s not “miscommunication,” that’s just being awful to someone you supposedly care about. The second couple also did absolutely nothing for me. From the start, I felt zero chemistry. Every time the screen cut to them, I sighed. And somehow, despite barely having any development, they ended up together? When they kissed, my genuine reaction was, Did I miss an episode? Or ten? It felt random, rushed, and honestly like a mood killer. Now, I did enjoy the chaotic one minute makeout session in the final episode, no complaints there. But if the story had been stronger, that kiss would’ve felt way more impactful. The slow burn plus good kiss combo was perfect on paper, the writing just didn’t support it enough to make it hit emotionally. There’s also a laundry list of unanswered questions. What’s going on with Min U’s parents, did his mom ever accept Yu Ha? What about Min U’s friends? Why is Yu Ha suddenly working at the same company, and why are the coworkers magically okay with the relationship after gossiping the entire series? What happened to Ha Su Yeon’s boyfriend? Did he finally leave her alone? None of this gets addressed, and while I know time constraints are a thing, it still makes the ending feel incomplete. Originally, I thought about giving this an 8 because I really enjoyed the first half, but it definitely went downhill. Still, despite all its flaws, I don’t think it deserves to dip below a 7. It has three things I personally love, slow burn, solid kisses, and Min U being ridiculously attractive.

Flawed, frustrating, but not unwatchable, and definitely not the disaster some people make it out to be.
Overall: 7/10

What is *actually* wrong with this series

If you haven’t watched this series yet, I think you should read this. The spoilers don’t reveal the ending but they will help you to not feel as disappointed as many seem to. Here’s why.

This series suffers from multiple personalities and most of the bad reviews I’ve seen seem to be reacting badly to the surprise of a mid-series genre change. I understand the film makers want it to be a surprise but I think it’s a mistake. Ok, here comes the spoiler.

The story is not a conventional comedy romance and the title is misleading. It’s deeper than that. The story revolves around the ml falling for a fl who has multiple personality disorder.

I won’t give away what happens in the end but the middle of the series that people are criticising is actually really sweet and heartwarming as the ml negotiates the complexities of dealing with someone with psychological issues.

The performances are uniformly great and the writing, although at times a little patchy, still manages to hit some pretty high marks.

In short, if you’re prepared to turn your brain on and look beyond the surface, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Watch it with an open mind.
