A RARE GEM DRAMA!!

I only watched it since it looks interesting, at first I thought it would be a spicy romance without looking at the plot but this leaves me a emotional wreck lit the amount of tears I shed on the last episode 😭 what made me more emotional was the fact her things was still in place and Xiao han keeps growing flowers and everytime it blooms it reminds him of her and the place where he proposed scene. I'm not really into shows that has a sad ending but I already knew the ending would be sad. It's such a fresh and rare type of drama that I would rewatched it over and over again.

Their love is beautifully crafted and the scenery that they showed in the drama is so aesthetically pleasing. But such love only had a limited time.☹️
Some may argue that the ending was an open ending but I don't think so the girl really did die and leukemia patients usually have 5 or more yrs to lived.
In my heart this drama is a 10/10 but the mother romance side was so unplaceda and not needed in this type of show. So I just skipped their parts and it took up a lot of screen time 😔.

Overall PERFECT CASTING, OST and CHEMISTRY !! 😍 Tbh I did not even noticed the wide age gap of the cast like Jerry Yan looks so young 😭.
This drama deserves more attention!!

Such and emotional ride with wonderful characters.

I'm going to say that even though I found the first 4-5 episodes really boring and slow, I'm glad that I picked it up again. I fell in love with the story because once it got going it never let go. I was happy to finally find a Xianxia that hooked me after Moonlight Mystique and that took time. Love in Pavillion was it! I loved the characters every single one had their nitch and made me root for them. I couldn't help and feel sad for most of their endings.
And that was the thing with Love in Pavillion, it made you care so much about their characters and this world that once it reached it's tragic ending you can't help and be heartbroken. I haven't watched Red Moon Pact yet but I decided to give LiP a chance and I'm glad that I did because it took me on an emotional journey.
The love story's here are beautiful too. Although Zheng & Mu Yuan were my favorites I adored Hong Ye and Huai Zhu too even if all their ends are painful. Now, I wait for HZ and HY's son story and hoping it hurts a lot less. But knowing the tragedy of Fox Spirit Match Maker series, I won't hold my breath.
Highly recommended if you are in the mood for a good xianxia with great characters all around, excellent acting and beautiful music. But beware this will yank your heart out in the end.
9.5/10

✒ ✨️ The Unicorn Family Crashes Fang Motorworks °7.5° °VG°

Why is Daddy suddenly interested in helping out Wendi with her homework? Daddy's not the type to understand his own motivations or actions. Papa is much better at that, and Papa is always the one who helps with homework. Never Daddy. So, WHY? Because, Daddy has newfound motivation, and this is one of the funnest onscreen couples EVER. Really! Tang & Fang are a blast. With 73 ~ Seventy-three ~ yes, 7~then-3, episodes, they have plenty of time to take their time. Not only with Tang (Daddy) & Fang, but with Wen (Papa) & Wu, too. They are all as cute as “lost Blackie” posters.

The premise is almost a nonstarter. Two guys are summoned to the ob-gyn office where they learn that one of them is the father of baby Wendi. Mom didn't know which one. Mom doesn't care. She's left the kid to them to sort it out. She's going to pursue her dream🇺🇸.

That isn't what's implausible. What is utter nonsense is that these 2 (heterosexual) dudes decide to raise Wendi together. Whose-yer Daddy, Wendi? Forget biology. She's got a Daddy and a Papa. I can roll with any premise as long as the execution is good. This is not an easy one. Time travel is more believable, but let's see where it goes… even with it being threescore and thirteen eps, let's see where it goes, I thought.

2F is a 2013 release that answers the question: “Papa, what happens when 2 friends want the same thing?” After baby Wendi's living status is settled, here's what happens next:

It was just a trip to the supermarket.

Megan Laai (W Series: Love Yourself) is “Fang” Jing Zhu. Yes, she just hit another car in the grocery store parking garage, Since dad runs a body shop it isn't that big of a deal. She leaves a note for the owner of the abused car and continues with her errand, when she meets a horrible man. She'd been trying to get that last box of chocolate for at least a minute. She can just brush her fingertips on it. Viola! Her savior appears! But he pops those confections into his /own/ cart! After Fang objects, he counters by telling her that if she wants to get something from the top shelf, she should grow an inch. 😤 How rude! Next, she runs into an adorable father and daughter. They end up helping her out of an embarrassing situation.

Back home, dad isn't happy about her causing more trouble. He'll fix the stranger's car, but he won't fix hers. She'll never learn if he keeps fixing her mistakes. Dad shouldn't be getting her upset b/c tomorrow is her first day as a teacher. (Dad, btw, says some of the most horribly obnoxious things, but he gets away with it because he's just so dang cute).

The next morning, guess who's in her class? Fang discovers that the 2 men she met-a-marketing are the fathers of Wendi, her student. Not only is Mr. “Grow-an-inch” rude in supermarkets, but he is also a mean school parent. He's also the owner of the car she struck. This guy's cheap, too. She knocked off his side mirror, but he's asking her father to fix his bumper as well. Oh, he's the PTA rep, /of course/. Worst of all, he is a lawyer😱! It is going to be a long year.

Weber Yang (A Touch of Green) plays Mr. “Grow-an-inch” “Tang” Xiang Xi, or “Clueless Monster,” as Fang calls him. He calls her Ms “Rear View Mirror,” and that's where he wants to see her, both personally and professionally (he's guessing her teaching is as good as her driving). But he can't seem to actually put her in the rear view mirror. He is clueless, EQ-wise. Human emotions are nonsense to him. He cares about facts and results, and WENDI. He has no inkling of his developing feelings for Ms Fang, though there's sparks from the start.

The other father, (Lin You Wei from Na Pian Hua Na Pian Hai is “Wen” Zhen Hua), sees it all. He's darling with his tousled bedroom hair. A born nurturer, he enjoys cleaning and cooking. Wen sees what is happening: Fang and Tang are getting tangy together. They are like magnet and steel, to borrow from Walter Egan. Wen is now in a deep personal conflict. The primary house rule is that they never, ever, NEVER fall for the same woman again. That's how they ended up co-parenting Wendi. Wen sort of likes Fang, so he is depressed.

The alien, Wu Yong Jie (Cherry Leung) can see it. As an artist, she sees colors around people that broadcast their moods. Ms Wu is strange ~> Even for an artist ~> Think Ally Sheedy in The Breakfast Club. She isn't good at self-care. She refers to her cat, Blackie, as a roommate. She doesn't clean or groom. She just draws all day. Her apartment actually smells. Wen had to collect the overdue HOA fee from her and he was horror-stricken at first sight. Wendi bonded with Wu straight away, though. Wu agreed to teach Wendi how to draw, a deal that the 2 women struck while ignoring Wen's protests. Wen can't help himself: He ends up assisting Wu with meals and cleaning while she teaches Wendi. That brand of care branded her ❤️.

Love is in the air. Wen isn't the only sad onlooker as Fang & Tang start to bang around. Tang's partner, Jiang Ying Fan (Amanda Chou from the Youngsters on Fire series) is deflated like 3 day old party balloons. What is worse is that Ms Fang's brother (Marcus Zhang from The Eternal Love & The Wolf Warriors portrays Fang Fei Zhu) fell in love with Jiang at first sight. He works at his father's repair shop and he doesn't get out much. His only past relationships are with cars. He has no sense of style, he isn't cool, and he's pretty much clueless ~ “A primitive man in a modern world,” as Tang puts it. What he is, is very very sincere. His co-worker Ni Oh (a bit of comic relief) delivers epically awful love letters to Jiang's office for him (he enclosed a screw. ‘Screws are small but essential.’ It's a metaphor. Jiang only sees a screw loose). No Oh takes one look at receptionist Xiao Pei (Vanila Song) and falls hard: The over-reaching-dork disease is communicable; these women are way far out of their league. All’s well that ends well, right? These guys are technically stalkers, so one has to let that slide in order to enjoy the show. If you aren't in any mood to give that behavior an overlook, then I've just freed up 73 episodes worth of time for you.

Jun Liao is a highlight of the show as Fang Da Tong, Fang's Father and failed dating coach. Steven Sun from Before We Get Married plays Fang Qing Zhu, another sibling whom we meet in the 2nd half of the show. Lucia Xie (Dream Raider) is the adorable Tang Wendi, the little girl at the center of it all. She's fabulous, as are the two children who play her friends. Finally, there's the real star, Blackie the cat. Director Liu Jun Jie also did Boss & Me-7 which is a thoroughly enjoyable romance for romance junkies. If his name is on it, I'm interested.

We watch Tang and Fang's romance through Wen's eyes, or a third party's eyes. It's adorable yet less intimate than some romances. Whatever they lack in intimacy they make up for in adorability. Their interactions are delightful. 73 episodes of them frolicking? I'm in!

What do you call a first date in which neither party realizes that they're on a date? By ep 47 they are still clueless but always finding reasons to hang together. Do we count the frequent basketball and boxing matches? The boxing match has a strong case as for being the first date, but as far as we're-dressed-nice-we're-going-out-we're-going-to-have-a-couple-drinks-we'll-see-where-it-goes first date action, episode 47 is it... I think... I'm not sure what Tang was thinking. Even though it's working hours, he surprises her after school. He tells her to get in the car because he has somewhere to take her. Since it's something related to her family, in his mind, he can still lie to himself about the reason for taking her. So, it's a date, but it's not a date. . It's definitely a first dressed-up outing; Step 1; coupling-up. Episode 47 is a transitioning episode because Miss Wu ends up on a night out with Wendy and Wen. It's rather nice structure.

Will Blackie have kittens? Will that make Wendy wonder about who her mother is? Will Wendy's mother show up? (Cancel that b!+ch). I hope not. Will they find out who the true father is? Probably. Most probably. Some things seem obvious, but the viewer won't get everything s/he might expect. The show takes a couple unexpected turns and doesn't always turn when and where expected. For example, Wen should have been required to bring an assistant to New Zealand and it should have been Wu. To think about Daddy & Wendi joining Wen on his trip… it seems like a comedy in which the jokes would write themselves. But Wen goes away for several episodes, and everyone else must fend for themselves. Wu almost loses it completely with Wen gone. At the same time, Tang should have been getting more help from Fang with Wen gone. Missed opportunities. He definitely needed help with Wendi's hair. She learned to just do it on her own. Nothing “expected" happens during that entire sequence.

The low point of the show is when a character becomes hearing impaired. The way they handle it is disastrously bad. There is no rhyme or reason as to what is audible and what isn't with the character. For instance, this person doesn't hear the tea kettle screeching but does hear a knock on the door. At the dinner table during conversation, one person can be heard, but the next can't. It is really bad, but by the time this happens it is nearly the end of the show and I already considered the whole thing adorable, so they are forgiven for this sloppiness.

Tang harbors anger against his absent father who is now trying to reconnect with him. “It's all love, the difference is in how you say it,” Fang observes. That's good writing. Our extreme anger against a person can be evidence that we care. This also helps explain why Tang has ironclad determination to make things work well for Wendi. (“If you have a child, it has to call me Daddy too,” Tang tells Wen. They are family forever. Yes, we're in fantasy world. Nevertheless, it's utterly charming).

The filmcraft is what makes the show nearly seamless. The light music and cadence of the actors' voices have a relaxing effect. They regularly zip-zip-ZIP through lectures. It's a cute technique. (Who knows how long the show would have been without that?)

As long as it is, 2F is filled with love, laughs, legal cases, HOA drama, PTA problems, kissing and running, bad suits, horrible poetry, and totally radiating warmth. Snuggle up. This one is cozy.

So, this feels like a hate crime.

I too fell into the trap of projecting my feelings onto Kaori and Fujisawa and was sorely disappointed when neither character turned out to be asexual. Instead, Kaori sometimes treats Hagiwara like a child (but at other times I was also kind of scared for her, so there are layers) and Fujisawa is abusive. Delightful. Clearly, Sei and Hagiwara were incompatible with their partners, and not just in terms of sexual needs. Still, and regardless of anyone’s sexuality, the lengths this story went to villainize the partners of our two male leads felt like a personal attack.

It’s all well and good to ask for sympathy for the main characters because they’re unfulfilled. But can we agree that nobody owes anyone sex and that being in a sexless relationship is not the literal hell on earth the main characters proclaim it to be? And it bears repeating that I really could have done without the rape. Sei and Hagiwara’s mutual reassurance that they’re oh so good people was a bit much too. Is the insistence on viewing every conflict through the lens of sex not just a societal ill but also in part a problem of this genre? I don't know.

Everyone’s non-confrontational to a fault in this one -- right up until they blow up on each other. No one is really honest about their identity either. Points for realism! I would also be remiss not to mention the good acting. If only this story wasn’t so set on sex being essential to romantic relationships, it could have meaningfully expanded upon the complexities of intimacy. It’s all very frustrating because the building blocks were there, and it’s not like the show can’t do nuance at all. It’s just that the amatonormativity won out. Even for a self-proclaimed enjoyer of toxic erotic relationships like moi, Futtara Doshaburi went against one too many of my core beliefs to remain a pleasant viewing experience.

I have no ntoes, I'm happy

Honestly, this is what I enjoy about kdramas - romance and revenge plot that are well-executed. There are many different complaints about the show, but I have no notes. The FL had been wronged so much by people close to her that she felt the need to get revenge and I must say, I enjoyed the way she went about it.

I hate when shows have a revenge plot where the MC suddenly acts like they "forget" how evil the other characters are, so they let their guard down. That didn't happen at all here. In fact, she knew they were bad the whole time and didn't let up and even when they showed their darker colors, for the most part, she was prepared. I liked that Ji-Won took action; she didn't wait around for Ji-hyuk to do things for her, but she also didn't stop him from helping too much. And I like that as things ramped up toward the end, she kept going.

Idk, the story about how she regained her life bit by bit, reclaiming ten years of her life that was stolen from her...I loved it. I enjoyed the acting a lot and I actually love every character.

Even the evil people, like min-hwan and su-min. I like them as characters. I like that su-min was great at survival and that min-hwan, even though evil, had a strange charm to him. I like every character because they felt real. They didn't suddenly "have an epiphany about their wrongdoings," they were just evil and got more and more evil as the show went on. Su-min's acting was GREAT, so was PMY as Ji-won.

The intricate choices and how they changed the outcome were also very fascinating to watch.

I loved how caring and attentive ji-hyuk was. Ji-won really deserved someone like him.

I'm really a fan of this show.

Great production

Captivating production. Beautiful cast. The story kept me interested for 30 episodes. It took a couple of weeks to get through it as I wasn’t desperate to watch continuously but 30 episodes watched with no skipping scenes is a huge achievement to be honest. I wouldn’t rewatch but would recommend.

Real and raw -- not a fluffy rom-com

Something in the Rain. Where do I even begin with this one? It's a drama that sticks with you, but not always in the ways you might expect. First, the premise is simple: it's a noona romance, older woman/younger man, and what complicates their relationship besides the age factor is that the younger man is the older woman’s best friend’s brother. What I loved at the beginning was how natural their relationship felt. It's a slow burn, watching them go from being friendly acquaintances to realizing there's more there. The chemistry between Son Ye-jin and Jung Hae-in is undeniable. They capture those little moments of connection – the glances, the handholding, the way they talk – so well. It's all very sweet and, honestly, kind of swoon-worthy.

The drama does a great job of portraying the everyday aspects of falling in love. It's not all grand gestures; it's also about the intimate moments that make a relationship feel real. The title, Something in the Rain, is quite fitting because rain often features in these pivotal, romantic scenes. However, this is where it gets a bit tricky; the drama isn't all sunshine and roses (or should I say, sunshine and rain). It also delves into some heavy stuff. We see their challenges due to their age difference, especially the disapproval from Jin-ah's family. Korean society can be quite traditional, and this drama doesn't shy away from showing how societal pressures can affect a relationship and burden it and the people involved in unimaginable ways. At times, it was hard to watch how intrusive and borderline abusive Jin-ah’s parents were, particularly the mother. We also see the difficulties Jin-ah faces at work, including issues of sexual harassment. It's a stark reminder that even in seemingly modern settings, these problems still exist. I appreciated that the drama addressed these issues, even though they sometimes made it a bit tough to watch.

The pacing of the drama is something to note. It's quite slow, especially in the beginning. Some reviews found this boring, but I think it helps build the emotional connection between the characters. It gives you time to really invest in their relationship. Later in the series, the pacing shifts, and it can feel a bit uneven.

Overall, Something in the Rain is a drama that shook me because a grown woman is stripped of her adulthood and choices regarding who she can love or live her life. The drama is almost perfect for its realistic portrayal of falling in love, heavy plotlines, and pacing. It’s not for everyone, but I recommend watching it, especially if you're a fan of romance dramas. Just be prepared for a bit of a rollercoaster ride. The acting is superb, the chemistry between the leads is amazing, and it offers a glimpse into some of the social issues in South Korea. And maybe I like this drama because it is not a light and fluffy rom-com. It’s a real, gritty experience.

The Perfect Chemistry Between Akin and Jin

The chemistry between Akin and Jin in Top Form is something special. I absolutely love the dynamic between them, especially considering the age difference and Akin’s years of experience in the industry. Akin has been in the entertainment world for so long, and seeing him interact with Jin, who is just starting out, adds so much depth to their relationship.

What really stands out is the fact that Jin's journey into the entertainment world is tied to Akin—Akin was the one who inspired him to pursue it. The dedication and admiration Jin has for Akin make their bond even more meaningful. It's not just about romance; it's about growth, learning, and finding inspiration in someone you admire.

And then there's Akin, the "crybaby" of the pair, which adds an unexpected layer to his character. Despite being the older, more experienced one, his vulnerability and emotional moments make him feel more real and human. It’s refreshing to see the older character in a more emotionally open light.

Their interactions feel natural, and watching their bond grow throughout the series has been one of the most enjoyable parts of the drama for me.

I always like Liu Yu Ning, recently he has great dramas that impressible but as it progress might not as good as I thought it would be (like the Pearl Girl with Zhao LuSi). Enough suspense, character development is very poise, story flows very smoothly, everybody seems to know how to act and what their character should be. It's the story of Xiao Qiao Man, a clever girl from the Qiao family, marries Wei Shao, the sharp and kind master of the Wei family, as part of a family alliance. Wei family has hatred for the last 14 years as Qiao family betrayed Wei and their brotherhood, with option to create peace in two powerful families, they're agree to form marriage alliance. The title of this drama is fitting with the synopsis; they both prisoners of each other. As a wife Xiao Qiao is restricted and she's under surveillance because of her birth name, trust must be earned. Wei Shao is captivated by her beauty, a prisoner in domesticate way.

The two started with distrust, wary but they know their marriage will eventually happen. Wei Shao would rather get rid of her than marrying her that bring out the saddest memory of losing his grandfather, father, & brother. Liu Yu Ning has great posture with power and charisma, looking real good with his costumes, he has preserved face expression. I love the ep 1 when he open curtain to see ManMan (Song Zu'Er) for the first time, he has that little jolt on his eyes indicating he surprise seeing her beautiful face. Liu Yu Ning is great on that. Song Zu'Er also has young cute voice, beautiful make up. She came toward to her grandfather, give an approval of marriage arrangement with Wei by blinking her eyes as signal. I think she did well.

As episode progress, it's too much of PDA for me. I am okey with little romance but not too much of it. I am kind of pull back with so much 'wooing' or 'bonding' or 'courting' the love interest. Ep 15 on ward slows me down, start tiring me with all loving scenes, they spent too much air-time in romance & domestic scenes. I think her cousin Da QIao Fan (He Hong Shan) has great acting on ep 30 when she refused to lend her husband's soldiers to help Wei Shao because she presumed it's a hopeless war she didn't want to lose a husband General. No longer loving cousins they were after that. This drama has postpone it's airing by few years because of Song Zu'Er tax scandal so it just suddenly premier. I like her, she has 2 dramas back to back, she also did good with Allen Ren in the Demon Hunter's Romance' too. One thing though, she cute but can't dance can't do fighting scenes....she's stiff like wood.

The Untamed Review

The Untamed is a rare gem in the sea of fantasy dramas—a live-action adaptation of Mo Dao Zu Shi (The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation) that retains the heart, soul, and complexity of the original novel. While rooted in BL, the series transcends genre boundaries, offering an emotionally rich narrative about friendship, morality, loss, and redemption.

Despite the limitations of censorship, the adaptation is remarkably faithful, preserving the novel’s spirit through nuanced storytelling and compelling character arcs. Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo breathe life into Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji, delivering performances so emotionally resonant and perfectly matched that it’s hard to imagine anyone else in these roles.

The plot, though intricate and multi-layered, unfolds with precision—revealing deeper themes of justice, sin, and the moral ambiguity that defines human nature. More than just a fantasy epic, The Untamed is a philosophical exploration wrapped in hauntingly beautiful visuals, a mesmerizing soundtrack, and a story that lingers long after the credits roll.

This is a drama that doesn’t just entertain—it captivates, challenges, and stays with you.

Good first 5 episodes!

Just finished watching the first 5 episodes. They were good. Song Zuer is so pretty here. Well done the production crew!
I found that the characters and story a bit similar to a part of the romance of three kingdoms? Wei Shao's advisor reminded me of Zhuge Liang and on the movie The Battle of Redcliff, I remember a lady that was known to be very beautiful, similar to Xiao Qiao 🤔

Villans!

So much took place in 12 episodes. One thing is for certain is that no one's hand is clean in this drama except the police for once. I didn't really care about who did what because the why's were just so unexplored.

Do jin woo was hands down my favorite character along with the FL's best friend. It's so sad that they're characters were never explored especially Do jin woo. His backstory would've been elite, but they limited it and instead used the time to run around with the villans. I would much rather they answer questions about his background than to have seen the barking they did at each other (I'm talking about the FL's side versus the 'bad' guys)

FL and her daughter were alright. I didn't see much chemistry between them sadly. There was more between her daughter and husband. I have so many questions at the end too. Nothing felt completed. I want to call this an open ending. There is not a lot of action in here, just a lot of talk.

Class of Lies: Where Power Hides the Truth

Class of Lies is a K-drama that almost discouraged me at the beginning. The first few episodes were slow and a bit confusing – I even thought about stopping. But gradually, the plot started to get so interesting that I didn’t even realize when I got completely hooked. Each episode uncovered new clues, new suspects, and new mysteries, pushing me to keep watching.

The story follows Gi Moo Hyuk, a lawyer whose career is ruined by a scandal. Under a fake name, Gi Kang Jae, he infiltrates an elite high school to secretly investigate the murder of a student and clear the name of a boy he believes is innocent. But the deeper he digs, the more he realizes that the school isn’t just a place for education – it’s a battlefield ruled by power, secrets, and fear.

What makes this drama truly intense is how much influence the powerful figures – especially parents from wealthy families – have over everything. But it’s not just them. Some teachers and school staff seem to go along with whatever those families want. Whether it's to protect their own positions, keep the school's reputation intact, or out of fear, their silence and actions play a big part in allowing the darker things to happen. There’s a sense that some of the adults have simply given up doing what’s right.

The students reflect that system too. Some act as if they're above the rules, using money or influence to hide their wrongdoings. Others get caught in the crossfire, victims of bullying or pressure they can’t escape. You often get the feeling that everyone’s playing a role – and very few people are willing to face the consequences of their actions.

The most unforgettable character is Yoo Beom-jin, played by Lee Jun Young, who gives an absolutely amazing performance. He’s calm, polite, and always seems to have the right answer – but the more we learn about him, the more questions we have. He’s one of those characters that keeps you guessing the whole time. Just when you think you understand him, something shifts.

And then there's the final episode. (light spoiler) Something unexpected happens right at the end, leaving things open and slightly unsettling. It gives a sense of resolution, but not the full kind of justice you’d hope for. It’s a happy ending in some ways, but not for everyone – and that’s what makes it feel real and bittersweet.

Class of Lies is a gripping, psychological thriller with powerful social commentary. It’s not just about solving a crime – it’s about corruption, fear, and what happens when truth gets buried under power. If you're looking for something smart, suspenseful, and emotionally deep, this drama is worth every minute.

Trilling, Compelling and Gorgeous - The Glory

A very richly detailed Revenge drama. From costumes, make-up, music and story, this show is mystery finely layered with elegance and balance. All key characters are multi-dimensional and complex, with individual character arcs that push the story narrative effectively. It keeps the pace and tension effectively balanced so the audience doesn't get too anxious but remain engaged to see what happens next. I particularly loved that the lead characters grow and change in response to events in the plot. They develop from their mistakes and outcomes. Wen Zheng Rong is brilliant and gives a master class in acting as Ruan Xi Wen.
