It takes time to learn how to translate love

I binged this drama over two days because I saw the hype and I refused to get spoiled, and I'm glad I did so. Interestingly, I would say this show can't really be spoiled, after all. There's a story being told, and though I do think it works best if you go in without expectations, it doesn't really matter because there are no stakes. There are things that this drama did really well, but others that it dropped the ball on. Overall, I would say it was underwhelming but enjoyable.

THE GOOD

- Let's start by naming the stand-out of this whole show--the acting. Every actor on screen delivered, and none more than our leads, especially our Cha Mun Hee. I've marked this review for spoilers but I'll be vague regardless. If you've seen the show, you know why whoever played this character would need to have range--and boy did Go Youn-Jung deliver! She really brought the FL to life (over and over again....like a zombie...haha). I was blown away by her performance, and really appreciated seeing the quality reflected back by everyone whom she shared a screen with.

- Next--the characters. Every single character was fleshed out and characterised thoughtfully, even for throwaway moments in the background. It truly added so much to the world that we were being invited into. I would've happily gone down any number of side roads to learn more about the side characters, which I can safely say is a first.

- Speaking of the characters and how they were directed on the screen--the cinematography and direction of this show was phenomenal. It was beautiful and scoping, and artistic in a way I really appreciated. Small touches, like FL's flashbacks and the dollhouse, changes in lighting, parallels and symbolism in the visuals--they really added a lot of depth to the narrative. One of my favourite examples is when FL is crying and Do Ra Mi is dancing in a thunderstorm. The contrast!

- The story and genre were refreshingly original. I've already talked about the characters, so I'm going to skip them here, but the story itself and the way several plot points unfolded were so deeply satisfying. The drama starts with classic set-ups--a first love ML can't forget, unrequited FL pining, childhood trauma, secrets--and ends after resolving each one without falling into the pitfalls of kdramaland--love triangles, ignored yearning, amnesia, emotional reunions. It was such a pleasant surprise to constantly underestimate how characters would react and the story would unfold. Every attempt at manipulation failed because the main leads kept no secrets from each other, for example. Or the delightful one-sided love line with Hiro, who is in reality a complete opposite to his Prince Charming persona. Oh, and my favourite call-out: "I heard all that. What is wrong with you?"

- This is a continuation of the last point, with a focus on genre. I wouldn't call this show a rom-com. I know that's what it's tagged as, and it has both romance and comedy aplenty. But there's more to it than that. It's not slice-of-life. It's not thriller. It's not a melo. But somehow, it's all of those at once regardless. There is something very comforting about this show. It plods on at a steady pace, making progress without you realising it and suddenly you're on episode 6 and you wonder, what could possibly take 12 episodes??? And yet you keep watching, and it keeps you hanging on. Romance is definitely the main story, but it's not the only story, and I think that made it stand out even more.

- I really need to shout-out the character of 'Do Ra Mi' on its own. First, the zombie dancing killer from the movie FL shoots--oof! I wish that were a real movie! The scenes we got were fantastic and FL killed it! And then the Do Ra Mi that emerges later....she was such a contrast to Cha Mul Hee and it was so much fun watching her on screen. Definitely a highlight of this show.

THE IFFY
Most of my gripes with this show stem from the writing: it wasn't super neat, and although the characters and their relationships were refreshing, certain plot points and situations weren't developed cleanly enough. It's one of the biggest reasons this drama isn't rated higher.

- The pacing was a little choppy at times, especially with the time skips and flashbacks. They were positioned oddly sometimes, making the timeline a little difficult to follow. And certain situations could have been resolved easily with a translation app (aka, all of the scenes with Hiro and FL), but because it wasn't convenient for the plot, the characters never used it. That was a little frustrating in terms of the writing.

- Similarly, some of the dialogues were clearly set up to have an impact, but I couldn't tell what the build up was so the scene fell flat. I don't know if this was a translation issue or a writing issue, to be honest. The translations on Netflix currently suck, which is horribly ironic.

- The biggest issue for me was the back-and-forth that happened between the ML and FL. I couldn't follow their reasons for staying away from each other. It felt a little contrived, especially when Do Ra Mi was introduced. That also contributed to the confusion because she would speak FOR the FL at times to progress the plot, and we wouldn't really see how FL felt about it all. For example, at one point she says FL is too embarrassed to speak to ML...okay...but what exactly happened? There was so much stuff happening between event X and Y that it was difficult to follow. It also felt like ML and FL had several emotional 'breakups' only to get back together. That normally would have rage-baited me, but it was tolerable here because there was still progress, you know? But it definitely made the overall writing weaker. I think the writers could have developed it better (as we do see Do Ra Mi make excuses for that behaviour at times).

- One thing I would have loved would have been increased anchoring of the story with quotes and references, like in 'Because This is My First Life'. The set-up was there, with ML being widely read and living in a house full of books, as well as his professor friend. Not to mention the many languages featured on screen! It would've added some great emotional depth to the story, as well as backbone for the ML and FL's arc.

- One last point: Do Ra Mi drugged ML. No one speaks of it again, even after they learn the actual circumstances of how FL's parents 'died' and how her aunt and uncle were afraid she was just like her mum. That should've been resolved because drugging...that's crazy.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~--------~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
FINAL THOUGHTS
Overall, I really enjoyed this show for what it was. If you're in the mood for a binge-worthy romance that is satisfyingly sweet, that has great side characters, and beautiful cinematography and costuming, definitely give this one a go. Give it a miss if you're looking for a story that has realistic depictions of mental health and emotional arcs of love and reconciliation. While I liked that they were a part of the story, neither of those things were anything more than a plot device. The introduction of the dissociative identity was interesting and made sense for the story, but it would have been less gimmicky had it been rooted in FL's trauma in a more realistic way. REGARDLESS.
CUTE ROMANCE, EXCELLENT ACTING, BEAUTIFUL SHOTS.
(I will admit, some part of me watched this show because I was searching for Park Chung-Seob from When Life Gives you Tangerines...)
they should bring back lengthy kdramas
It’s like no other ordinary kdrama like what do mean the female lead started out getting dumped and pregnant. Not only that but also she doesn’t abort and she was only sent to the U.S to study and comes back and lie to her rich family.
I feel like before TikTok vlog moms and their cute babies I had Areum and Tiffany.
one of my childhood memories is waiting for it’s episodes to come out and have jaw dropping moments here and there. I don’t why people hate it but it’s one of my favorite dramas ever, like her having a baby and even how it starts with her crying in the rain. it was all beautiful and thought of and not rushed like the new 12 ep .
"Liking someone has nothing to do with killing them"
The Vendetta of On was a fairly standard drama featuring a strategic genius bent on revenge after the murders of his loved ones. As always, when doing a familiar story, the execution is key and Vendetta acquitted itself well. Much like Mei Chang Su in Nirvana in Fire, Xie Huai An rocked his fur lined costume and stayed at least one step ahead of the bad guys…most of the time.
Xie Huai An aka Liu Zhi has spent the last 15 years since escaping a massacre at his family residence plotting how to bring down the people responsible. The capital has changed ownership a couple of times and Xie is put to work by the new owner in finding the deposed previous owner as well as bringing down the traitorous and sly general of the Huben Army. Spies and sleeper cells abound, with layers upon layers of deceit and deception. Xie will have to count on his wits and friend circle to attain his goals and survive long enough enact his vengeance.
🟢What I liked:
It promised on revenge with the bodies stacking up early and often.
The tenacious and loyal General Gu. Despite being unable to walk he was still respected by his men. Was happy to see a wheelchair bound character written and portrayed so well.
Ye Zheng. I’m a bodyguard girl and was thrilled for Tong Meng Shi to play the role.
I wasn’t initially crazy about Faux Mo, but he grew on me and I was actually relieved his mask wasn’t removed later on as it helped my brain keep the continuity going.
The writers attempted to provide roles for women, even though most of the female guards were cookie cutter characters. I’m always astonished when these kinds of dramas all but omit women from the cast so I’m counting it as a win. Oddly, the casting director chose women who all looked quite similar despite the wide range of variety for the men.
The sets, wigs (important in these dramas!), acting, and fight choreography were all high quality. The drama also showed the cost of "othering" people.
Cheng Yi did a solid job as the obsessive Xie who had only one purpose in life. Even though Xie was usually ahead of everyone else, he did stumble on occasion without completely face-planting. I also enjoyed Wang Jin Song’s equally obsessive take on Wu Zhong Heng. There were numerous single-minded people in this drama who were in dire need of a trip to a bouncy house park.
❌What didn’t work as well for me:
Xie was an expert in nearly everything despite spending 15 years in the reeds. He left his home penniless, but somehow through the years acquired wealth and an extensive spy network. He was privy to secrets only a fly on a wall would know. He always seemed to have a change of clothes on him as well. Lol Pretty sure he had a Megamind “frequent kidnapping” card that was nearly punched full. He also had James Bond plot armor. Despite falling into his enemies’ hands time and again, no one immediately cut off his head, rather letting him hang around until he either escaped or killed them.
🤔Things that made me go hmmm….
The guards who defended the walls were in desperate need of remedial training. It was painfully funny how easily the enemy could scale the walls without anyone knowing on numerous occasions.
Characters were often gut stabbed with no lingering effects. I don’t care how good their medicine was or how tough they were, peritonitis is deadly.
The most chilling thing said in the whole drama for me was, “Everyone is a shadow guard. That’s the price of protection.” Yep, nothing makes me feel more secure than knowing my neighbors and co-workers are spying on me 24/7, ready to turn on me at a moment’s notice.
Overall, I found The Vendetta of An entertaining. The fights were fast and furious and we were weren’t forced to wait until the last quarter of the drama to witness Xie’s enemies begin to pay for their betrayals. The stakes were high and good guy losses hurt as much as I cheered the heads of the bad guys rolling.
Trigger Warnings: A snake in episode 22. Decapitations, spurting blood, numerous stabbings, suicide.
~~Very Spoilery thoughts below~~
Does everyone keep a perfectly preserved identical head in their junk drawer?
I didn’t care for the sister’s story. She was ill developed and only served to add to Xie's man pain of which he already had enough. It was literally overkill. Not sure why she’s listed as a main character given her limited amount of screen time.
One of the more interesting duos raised a lot of questions for me. Cen Pickles and Wu were slaves of the lowest order in Tiemo. As slaves they murdered a number of people. Did I miss their story arc? How did they escape punishment in Tiemo and then both become highly educated? Was Tiemo advanced enough to have universal schooling for everyone? Cen ended up working in the Chang'an palace and Wu had been a teacher at the academy where the Chang'an noble children attended. No background checks from the secret police? I could see Wu murdering his way to being king if the Tiemo just wanted the baddest dude to be the leader, but Tiemo nobility were mentioned often which was quite a social leap for a wolf killing slave. I actually found Cen and Wu's relationship intriguing mostly because of the actors' abilities. Wu might have had nefarious plans for the people he intended to conquer, but the actor was fascinating to watch.
I don’t have access to the special episode. My guess is, just like soap opera rules, without a body, Xie aka Liu survived. His death, mirroring Zhou Mo’s in episode 1, kept him from being killed by the Huben Army. Though I don’t see him making daisy chains and hanging out at a pub. I’m not invested enough in the ruling class to care who took over the throne…for now. That throne room had a revolving door on it.
something special and rewatchable
I've watched this almost 7times till now.. and tbh I am literally satisfied.. i haven't heard about the webtoon before watching this.. i watched this for park solomon.. and my goodness.. he is something beyond magical.. his appearance, acting, looks, the way he performed is something couldn't be explained.. this is one of the finest cdrama I've watched (though I don't watch cdrama so much).. but this is magical..
i know the episodes are so many but trust me on this those are worth watching.. but the ending is open.. neither happy nor sad.. I have expected something more than that but it's okay.. still worth watching..
MUST WATCH
She will win you over!
It took me a long time to finish To the Moon and Back, and I mostly blame that on the flood of great C-dramas being released lately. With the season keeping me indoors more often, I’ve been catching up on series while crocheting, and this drama—though highly recommended to me—was one I started slowly and took my time with. That said, once I spent a few focused days watching it, Mata’s character completely won me over. There were several moments that brought me to tears simply because the story was so genuinely wholesome.
To the Moon and Back is, at its core, a gentle love story about healing. Dr. Purim carries the emotional weight of being the “perfect son” for his father, while Mata grows up in a loving, unconventional family that often faces criticism for not fitting society’s expectations. Yet Mata remains happy, free-spirited, and endlessly kind, even in the face of judgment. That warmth—her ability to meet the world with compassion rather than bitterness—was the biggest reason I stayed with this drama.
It’s been a while since I’ve seen a character like Mata, the kind who is effortlessly lovable and quietly transformative. She wins over everyone around her—Purim’s father, her grandfather, and viewers alike—without ever trying to change who she is. As MDL perfectly puts it, the two bond over baking (and stray dogs), and Matalada’s warmth and unconventional family life slowly fill the emotional void in Purim’s heart.
I don’t want to spoil too much, because this drama truly deserves to be experienced. The build-up can feel slow at first—I certainly felt that—but once you understand the characters and their histories, the story settles into something deeply comforting. I can’t praise the characters enough, from the leads to the supporting cast. They warm your heart like a fireplace on a cold day, and you can’t help but grow attached to every single one of them.
This is one of the things I love most about lakorns: the supporting cast is just as memorable and meaningful as the leads. They aren’t just background filler—they’re essential to the emotional core of the story and add so much charm and depth.
I highly recommend To the Moon and Back to anyone looking for something wholesome, joyful, and emotionally healthy—not just in romance, but in family relationships as well. This drama is a reminder that love, kindness, and acceptance can be healing forces.
For me, this was an easy 10/10.
A Bunch of Nothing Wrapped in Beautiful Visuals
✧✦ This is just my personal view on the drama. We can all agree to disagree✦✧
I usually finish Netflix originals in a single day but this one took me three days and that alone says a lot.
✦Let me start with the good, because there are good things. The cinematography is easily the biggest highlight of the drama. It’s consistently beautiful. Cha Muhee’s outfits were another win and Dorami completely stole the show for me. I think I liked Dorami so much partly because I wasn’t invested in the main love story at all and Go Youn Jung absolutely nailed the role.
✦Now, the things that didn’t work for me.
This drama suffers a lot from mis-genre issues.
The drama is labeled as a rom-com but the comedy is almost non existent and I’m not even sure the constant push and pull between rejection and pursuit qualifies as romance.
In the first half, It felt like the same thing happened in every episode: the main leads having the exact same conversation, the female lead trying to court the male lead, the male lead rejecting her and then a goodbye at the end of the episode. As irritating as that was, at least the male lead still felt somewhat relevant to the story during this phase.
The second half is where the male lead completely faded for me. He wasn’t doing anything remarkable or even necessary for the plot. He felt like background noise, so much so that I probably wouldn’t have noticed if he’d barely appeared. Ironically, I enjoyed the second half more simply because Dorami had more presence. Go Youn Jung once again proved her range by slaying the dual role.
If you strip away the cinematography and the pretty actors, I honestly don’t know what’s left of the story. It feels like many things are happening, yet nothing is actually happening. The main love angle was repetitive and painfully boring.
Personally, found the second male lead–female lead dynamic far more engaging. Hiro wasn’t perfect but if his character had been properly developed as the main lead, the drama could have been much more entertaining.
A story about a Japanese actor and a Korean actress, carrying childhood trauma, unable to understand each other’s language, starting off as enemies and slowly falling in love sounds far more aligned with the rom-com genre they were supposedly aiming for. Dorami being dynamic and Hiro matching her energy would’ve made so much more sense. Hiro wasn’t some flawless green flag character either.He had his own issues and I don’t mind imperfect characters at all. My problem with the male lead is simply that he felt repetitive and stagnant.
✦I rated the drama 6/10 and here’s why:
2 points for the cinematography
1 point for Go Youn Jung
1 point for Go Youn Jung slaying a double role
1 point for Go Youn Jung’s outfits
I’m not blaming the actors. They did what they could with what they were given. Visually, the drama was engaging and easy to watch but when it comes to storytelling, it ultimately fell apart.
A love that transcends time
I just finished watching all episodes of this drama.
First, I'd like to give a phobia warning; If you are like me and you have a big fear of a bunch of dots or holes together AKA trypophobia, this drama will be extremely triggering, the number of times I had panic attack watching this drama because ML has that phobia and the directors thought "Hey, let's show it and not give a Phobia warning!" is not even funny.
Even so, this was a really beautiful story and the acting was phenomenal. This was a story about feeling small and unwanted, but also learning to be cherished and more importantly learning to love oneself.
It is hilarious, I binge watched it in like 3 days, Seo Yi Do made me spit my drink in laughter many times, especially in one episode where he starts doing a Russian dance out of nowhere. Shin Sung Rok had a way of portraying perfectly that gloomy sickly character who's cynical of the world but in the same breath be so pure and sweet, his character development was one of my favorites.
Another thing I love is Ha Jae Sook acting as our FL, she portrayed beautifully the feeling of having felt small due to the way her character look but also being strong when needed. There was some fat shaming at the beginning and there is what some characters thought but this drama is not about that, it is about how no matter what you've experienced or how you look like, that one should love themselves. Ha Jae Sook character had to learn that, I also love that they didn't give the excuse of "Oh, she's just lazy, that's why she's fat therefor she's pathetic." They tackled the caused and gave her character the respect I feel she deserved.
Go Won Hee also did an amazing job acting as the 'skinnier' version of the FL, she also cracked me up and she had a way of acting with just her eyes that captivated me. When she sang in an episode, her voice gave me goosebumps.
I really didn't like Han Ji Na or Yun Min Suk but the actress and actors did an amazing job, they made me forget that they were acting (as did all the actors and actresses in this drama) personally I felt that both characters were shallow and annoying but even they have character developments that made them likeable.
I wish I could go name by name with each actors and what I like about them but this review would be super long.
The music was 9.5 out of 10, a lot of the songs I either had on my playlists or want to add it to my playlist, they also had a wide range from Jazz to Pop and even Cultural, the Russian dance scene will be one of my favorite scenes ever.
Toward the last 3 episodes it did feel like it was dragging and I did start to skip, I also don't really care for how the husband, who was a vile monster and the daughter's best friend who was annoying, kept being put as almost these ultimate villains, it just made it feel more like they were dragging the whole drama instead of getting to the point, but overall it was a really good drama.
I thought it was also funny since when I was in middle school, I was a gifted reader reading at a college level as an 11-year-old, one of my teachers gave me the book "Love in the Time of Cholera" which ended up being such a big focus point in this drama. I could never get past the first few pages, personally, I found it boring but the way this drama told it was beautiful.
Oh, the ending? I'll just say that she's healthy, take that as you will. I'd re-watch this again in a few years and would recommend it as well.
I finally found the time to watch Speed and Love, and the biggest draw for me was definitely the racing. Growing up on Initial D, I was immediately hooked by the mountain racing scenes—the terrain, atmosphere, and even certain tactics felt incredibly familiar. Moments like shutting off the headlights to throw off an opponent genuinely felt like a nostalgic callback. This review might feel a bit scattered since I was jotting down thoughts as I watched, but that also reflects my viewing experience.
I’m usually very invested in storytelling, but after seeing so many clips and spoilers beforehand, I already had a sense of where the plot was heading. The story follows a fairly straightforward “fake siblings”-to-romance setup: a taciturn male lead with a troubled past, and a female lead who acts as his emotional anchor and source of light. Because of that predictability, I wasn’t especially invested in the narrative itself. Still, I adore Esther and wanted to give the main couple a fair chance—and to be honest, they do have solid chemistry.
This drama feels clearly geared toward a younger audience. It’s cute, fluffy, and filled with romantic moments that evoke the feeling of first love. While it’s not usually my preferred genre, I ended up treating it as a “crochet and watch” series—something light to fill the time while waiting for other releases I’m more excited about.
The beginning of the series kept reminding me of The Forbidden Flower, and after doing a bit of digging, it made sense to learn they share the same director. I didn’t have the best impression of The Forbidden Flower—it felt more like a fangirl passion project than a fully grounded story—and that same vibe showed up here as well, particularly in how certain emotional beats were framed.
One element that did keep me curious was the mysterious meet-up storyline. I kept wondering if there was an undercover cop angle or some kind of shady deal involved. While that thread eventually went exactly where I expected, the execution wasn’t always easy to follow. The pacing and time jumps—especially involving Snakey and how she inserted herself into his life—felt a bit choppy. Her transitions between school life, social events, and uncovering his dangerous side lacked smooth narrative flow, making parts of the story feel rushed or underdeveloped.
That said, while the first half—particularly the Thailand portion—felt like a blur, the second half really pulled me in. Watching him lose his mobility and slowly fight his way back, both physically and emotionally, was where the drama truly shined for me. This arc gave the story more depth and made me reflect on what Speed and Love was ultimately trying to say. Was it just an innocent first love story, or was it about sacrifice in the name of love? I’d like to believe it was the latter—and that’s where the series found its strongest footing.
Lastly, it’s been a while since an OST immediately caught my attention, but Zhang Bichen’s “I’m Determined To” was an instant favorite and added emotional weight to several scenes.
While Speed and Love isn’t entirely my type of drama, I think viewers who enjoy first-love stories, youthful romance, and reunions born out of sacrifice will find a lot to like here. Between the beautiful visuals, engaging racing scenes, and a very good-looking main couple, it delivers what it sets out to do. For me, this was a solid 7/10.
A drama with too much sweetness, I think I'll die of diabetes
Honestly, watching this drama was refreshing. I liked how they handled the age difference. I honestly didn't expect this series to be so romantic; it has many sweet and domestic scenes that make me wish I had a partner, haha. The actors managed to convey the emotions and love that their characters had, even though the actors themselves also have an age difference like their characters. Because in China, even if actors have a tiny age difference, the distance is noticeable and sometimes they fail to convey love in their series, but with them there was no problem. I could definitely feel the chemistry between them, and the age difference in the series and between the actors wasn't awkward at all.
Actor Zhou Keyu (Li Wu) perfectly portrayed his character; I really enjoyed watching him act as a shy, sweet, and tender teenager even though he's almost 30, hahahaha. Although I am a woman, I saw myself reflected in Li Wu's personality. It's also worth noting that I liked how his personality evolved; he went from being very shy to someone very confident but still reserved. And despite everything, I still loved Ce Jin 😭❤️, I don't want, I need a Li Wu in my life... He's literally the perfect boyfriend; it's a shame he doesn't exist.
Actress Michelle (Ce Jin) is good too; I liked her character. She was realistic, and she and her character managed to convey that she loved Li Wu, But she didn't want to, and couldn't, clip the boy's wings so he could go abroad; it was painful to see how she deceived him and broke up with him, because she knew that the age difference did affect them; they loved each other, but it wasn't the right time. Besides, this girl was always throwing out facts, she told so many truths so that Li Wu would understand that he could love her and at the same time prioritize himself so that there would be no resentment between them.
With the secondary couple, you can tell their romance is very passionate and fun; whenever their scenes appeared, I always had a smile on my face HAHAHAHA. I really liked the girl, I mean Ce Jin's friend. I liked their relationship dynamic; it was entertaining to watch, a reserved and quiet guy versus an extroverted and flirtatious girl. I loved their chemistry so much that I hope they work together again, but as the lead couple 🫶🙏
It's a very simple, beautiful, and romantic series that's worth watching.
Long, draggy drama
This drama was so long, repetitive, and horrible. I've been joking that must be the original reason it didn't release for so long. The only reason I stuck it out was for Lee Hyun Woo.
The entire series, each episode constantly jumped from the past to the present. During the first 20ish episodes, the past/flashbacks seems to be in fairly sequential order. And the episodes were mostly focused on the past with smaller bits of the present. I didn't mind the back and forth too much, except once the FL cut her hair it got trickier knowing which timeline I was watching.
But somewhere around episode 22 or so, when the flashbacks had pretty much caught up with the present, they didn't stop. Sometimes we'd see new random scenes from school or college. Sometimes we'd see a scene again but with another small bit added. (And I'm talking a whole long 5-10 minute scene with an extra 30 seconds added.) But more often, we just got to relive it again for no reason that I could figure out. The closer I got to the end of the series, the more the scenes repeated until it got to the point of a 10 minute montage of Gao Song reliving his entire relationship in a flashback, flashing to Pei Yan Yan reliving a 10 minute montage of their entire relationship, with 30 seconds of actual story time in-between each flashback. It was bizarre. I watched them ride the ferris wheel 3-4 times. Gao Song fall 5 or 6 times. I've never seen a drama with so little story that the last 10 episodes consisted of 75% repeated content.
As for the story, most of the past storyline was decent. But not a single character knew how to take "No" for an answer until the last few episodes. (Mostly as in "this person is already in a relationship, leave them alone". Though they sure liked to be hypocrites and demand the same when it was their turn.) And there was an actual female-against-male rape that never got addressed for what it was! Possibly a bit of a second one though I was never quite clear what actually happened in the 2nd scenario.
The slight side-plot of the roommate musician and brother didn't go much of anywhere either. And most of the "romance" was childish and non-existent. We got one semi-decent adult kiss scene. The rest of the time they just pretended to fight or constantly played hard to get.
So Good!
This series was great… the actors, all the interconnected stories, and most of all, the unwavering persistence of QI Sizhe who knew there was more to his girlfriend’s death. I liked the exploration of all the stories and how it took us to the finale. There were moments I cried and was on edge… from the beginning I knew it was going to be awesome and it didn’t disappoint.
Could have been better
This had so much potential. I was excited for the horror, storytelling, and romance. Instead I got lackluster acting from the main actor. Khem’s character was stagnant, I wished the entire time they had another actor who could have smashed the role. I was no longer interested in the romance and skipped any intimate scenes. After a while, I hoped Rhampueng got her complete revenge and be done at episode 6. Overall, I enjoyed the past timelines and history.
