Ignore the ratings, this drama is truly enjoyable.
I honestly don’t understand why it didn’t get at least an 8.5 rating. Is it because of the ending? In my opinion, an ending like this is quite common in xianxia dramas. It wasn’t that bad either it was simply an open ending, which leaves room for interpretation.Hou Minghao’s acting in this drama is absolutely outstanding, especially in the crying scenes. His emotions felt so real that they made me cry as well. Tan Songyun, as always, never disappoints in any role she plays. The storyline is very engaging. Although the beginning feels like a typical and familiar plot, the story develops into something different and more interesting in the middle.
I also really loved the chemistry between the two leads. Their interactions felt natural and emotionally convincing, which made the story even more enjoyable to watch. Overall, despite the mixed ratings, this drama is definitely worth watching for its strong performances, emotional depth, and compelling story.

It wasn't bad but it wasn't as good as I thought it would be
I think the casting was great, each actor played their role very well so it was easy to get into the story. The first half of the show was great but unfortunately it went downhill after that. So many side stories felt unnecessary and didn’t add anything to the main plot. The love story between the second female lead and Mu-hee’s manager could’ve been completely scrapped. The same goes for everything surrounding Hiro, none of it served the story and only dragged the pacing down.
At first, Mu-hee’s love for Ho-jin was cute and relatable, but after a while, it became soooo frustrating. The writers turned her into a desperate girl who seemed to have no self-respect, endlessly chasing someone who rejected her multiple times. It was disappointing because she’s clearly capable of being so much more than that. And honestly, the fact that they only get together in the last two episodes, just to immediately start talking about breaking up, was ridiculous. At that point, I almost wished they hadn’t gotten together at all. The love story just wasn’t convincing from either side. Ho-jin’s reasons for rejecting her felt shallow, and overall, the writers completely wasted the potential of their relationship.
But my main issue was with Do Ra Mi.
The way her storyline was handled was such a missed opportunity. They could’ve explored a much deeper narrative about mental health and the emotional toll acting takes, especially for someone’s first major role that ended with a traumatic accident. There was so much potential for an honest look at how difficult it can be for actors to detach from their characters.
Also, I guess her seeming to have no physical issues after such a huge fall and being in a coma for six months was a bit unrealistic, but okay. And the fact that she barely saw a therapist until the very end? Like come on. But anyway, I guess that maybe wouldn’t have helped the plot that much (especially seeing how the plot was lol).
Instead, we got a messy and unresolved subplot about her family which ultimately went nowhere. The whole “she looks like her mom” revelation had no meaningful payoff. If her parents being alive was meant to be a big twist, why leave it hanging like that? That kind of storyline needed to be introduced earlier and explored properly, not dropped at the end with no resolution. If the goal was to show Do Ra Mi as a product of childhood trauma, the writing simply didn’t go deep enough.
And while we’re on that, they could’ve made Do Ra Mi genuinely dangerous. When one of the producers said, “Do Ra Mi doesn’t kill anyone, the only person she kills is the man she loves,” I expected the show to actually do something with that idea. The split personality concept was introduced well, but it should’ve gone muuuuuch further. Imagine if Do Ra Mi started seeing Ho-jin as both the source of Mu-hee’s pain and her greatest weakness, trying to hurt him for real, maybe in an attempt to “protect” Mu-hee from heartbreak. That could’ve added real suspense and emotional depth, blurring the line between love, obsession, and self-destruction.
Ho-jin saving Mu-hee with his words and his love could’ve been such a beautiful and powerful thing for the show. Seeing him reach her through his feelings, helping her find herself again, would’ve given so much more emotional weight to their relationship and tied everything together perfectly. But instead, everything stayed very surface level and unresolved.
Finally, the language theme had so much untapped potential. I think the show was trying to say that everyone has their own “language” and sometimes we struggle to understand each other even when we speak the same one. That’s a beautiful idea, but they could’ve done so much more with it, instead of the endless misunderstandings. Since the story takes place in both Italy and Canada, they had the perfect opportunity to explore English and Italian idioms, cultural nuances, and emotional expressions. They could’ve shown how certain feelings are expressed differently depending on the language, how love, heartbreak, or longing can sound or feel different in another tongue.
The opera sequence was a lovely touch, but imagine if they had woven more of that linguistic richness throughout the show. Since they’re filming a romantic variety show, they could’ve played with the idea of “romance in translation,” how words of love mean one thing in English and something entirely deeper in Italian. It could’ve been poetic, symbolic, and so so beautiful. Sadly, they only scratched the surface of what could’ve been a defining part of the show’s identity.
Honestly, this show should not have been a rom-com at all. It would’ve worked so much better as a melodrama with hints of comedy, something that leaned into the darker emotional themes and psychological depth instead of trying to keep things light and cute all the time. The tone they went for just didn’t fit the story they were trying to tell.
There were glimpses of brilliance in the acting, the setup, and some of the ideas, but it all felt underdeveloped and rushed by the end. It’s such a shame because this could’ve been something truly special.

Pond and Phuwins best work yet and the best thing to come out of GMMTV in 2025. Heartwarming and funny. It deals with alot of emotions but in a really beautiful way . This was pond's best performance. I love the relationship between peach and his sister, it's lovely to see a man be so delicate , loving and softWas this review helpful to you?
Mobius: When Mystery Meets Misfocus
I saw the trailer for Mobius and found it quite interesting, so I gave it a shot. The first case was executed beautifully and immediately hooks the viewer. The tension, pacing, and mystery are handled well, making the opening feel sharp and purposeful. However, as the story moves forward, the narrative begins to drag.Bai Jing Ting as Ding Qi delivered a solid performance. That said, this role does not reveal anything new about his acting abilities. His emotional control and intensity are already well known, and he delivers them competently here. His reactions during key investigative moments feel natural, and the action scenes are particularly well done, adding weight and urgency to the cases.
Janice Man as An Lan was less convincing. I have not seen her previous work, but her performance felt underwhelming and miscast. The character is written as important to both the investigation and Ding Qi’s personal life, yet her presence never truly leaves an impression. There is little emotional depth or nuance in her portrayal, making her feel more like a plot device than a fully realized character. Honestly, the role could have been played by almost anyone without changing the overall outcome.
There was absolutely zero chemistry between the two leads. The romantic subplot felt forced and unnecessary, adding very little to the main narrative. The drama would have worked just fine without any romance, as the core mystery and psychological elements were strong enough on their own. Watching the two leads interact was boring, and their relationship lacked believable emotional progression. This is not entirely the fault of the actors, but rather the writing, which failed to convincingly explain why these two characters were drawn to each other in the first place. Since this aspect was never properly developed, they should have left the romance out entirely. Their relationship could have remained platonic if the writers were adamant on keeping her character, and the time spent on their scenes could have been used to further develop the story.
Overall, Mobius would have benefited greatly from being a movie rather than a drama series. Stretching the story across multiple episodes resulted in unnecessary subplots and filler that diluted the main narrative. There was simply too much happening without enough focus. If this had been a film, the writers would have been forced to streamline the plot, resulting in a tighter, more cohesive, and more impactful story.

Didn't go the way I expected it to but I loved it!
I can understand why some people found this to be a let down. The plot being promoted before its release was really just a small fraction of what the whole story is about and even I was caught off guard! But I actually ended up really liking where the story was headed, especially at the ep 7-8 mark. This drama started out very romcom-y, very cute, had me giggling and kicking my feet and then the concept of Do Ra Mi being a recurring character kind of had me raising my eyebrows in confusion and apprehension cause where the hell did that storyline even come from?? It actually turned out to be one of the things that made me love this drama even more. I know there are mixed reactions with how they chose to portray mental health but me personally I found it to be very unique and interesting. Obviously the whole premise of Do Ra Mi just suddenly taking over the FL and the ML just accepting it is kind of preposterous but hey thats the beauty of fiction! It was so fun seeing how Go Youn Jung was able to embody two different characters and just seemly shift demeanors and mannerisms and ugh it was just so entertaining to watch.I've also seen people complaining that they took too long to actually get together but come on guys, its literally called Can This Love Be Translated? Of course there's going to be miscommunication and tension and angst! The push and pull between the FL and ML, how they just couldn't help falling for each other despite every speed bump they encountered. Personally I found it endearing how the ML really tried to interpret how the FL was feeling even though it wa probably giving him whiplash, not to mention Do Ra Mi popping up everywhere. But one other thing I really liked about the Do Ra Mi plot was how she was the one who helped the ML really understand the FL because she is basically telling me everything that the FL is thinking but just can't say out loud (confusing I know).
Anyways, from the cinematography to the OST to the storyline to the cast, this was definitely NOT a let down for me. I hyperfixated and binged all the eps cause that's how hooked I was. Don't let the bad reviews stop you. See for yourself and form your own opinion!!

A very bad story and cringey acting
I decided to finally watch this drama after having it on my list for a long time. I’d seen a few episodes when it first aired in 2023, but I gave up back then. This time, I got through 10 episodes but couldn’t finish the tenth. The main leads just didn’t feel convincing, and their acting seemed awkward and forced, especially the female lead. The story relies too much on characters overhearing conversations, which drives most of the main plot twists. If it happened occasionally, it might work, but it happens far too often. The second leads have better chemistry, and the second female lead acts more naturally. That’s how I feel up to episode 10. I might finish it if I run out of other dramas to watch, but otherwise, I’ll probably move on.Was this review helpful to you?

Sad I can’t see it for the first time again.
Not only is this by far now one of my all time fav bls. but also pond and phuwin are taking a spot at my top bl pairings, who to this day has been boss/ nouel, new/tay, jimmy/sea and of course win/bright (this ship will always sail for me).but I’ve always liked the pair, but felt like their roles weren’t as suited for them, they have had great chemistry. not denying that, can’t possibly. But I don’t know their roles haven’t been ’it’ yet for them.
fish upon the sky, phuwin looked too young and was, he was fresh. But their chemistry was insane, but something in that show was like not it. so on for the others for me at least.
But then we have Me and thee, phuwin as peach a calm down to earth, realistic person and pond as thee an out of world extremely only in fiction character, suited them so well.
But also phuwin to have grown into himself, and he looks more mature and he was also styled really well in this drama (never let me go suits are forever gone thank god).
pond portrait of thee is magical, I was laughing, feeling and laughing even more at his outbursts and ides. how he was quick to act and love. Pond even has this can’t believe he’s human face (yes he’s hot that’s what I’m saying). And he nailed thee to the ”thee”.
And phuwin, playing a normal human being. and seeing him so at ease with this role was so refreshing and uplifting, he made peach alive. and the fact that he was calling and stopping Thees outrageous behaviour at all times had me living.
And told him to get down to earth for a second and try to see life as a normal person. This is always uplifting as we’ve seen in many of our fav dramas, that this type of storyline is always nice.
but in my opinion, there was so much focus on them and how apart they are two fantastic people, peach a well known down to earth photographer, and thee a buinessman with mafia connections trying to be good.
as their love progress, how thee is a constant trying to just make peach see and love him. and peach is just trying to get thee to see, and then in his own way fall for thee. is the perfect boy slow but slow burn.
Their love story is easy but sweet, pond and phuwin makes these two, make me want to know more about thee and peach. every side character, has a good purpose, and don’t feel like a waste which some roles can do. the ensemble is great, from plus to Aran to mok, (who is my fav besides the two main).
I’m so damn sad I can’t ever rewatch this for the first time, ever again. I wish and hope people feel the same I do, because I feel like pond and phuwin are onto something. And this is it.
But the biggest scene stealers award goes to Ponds hair strand he keeps twirling and the sound effects really gives the show its top notch entertainment value. Go the producers for sure.

I'm in love with Pond/Thee. Too adorably cheesy and gorgeous!
There is so much I like about “Me and Thee”. Over-the-top comedy can put me off sometimes, but “Me and Thee” never deviates from what it sets out to be and the comedy just works especially by creating a very consistent and adorable character, Thee. Thee is the shining star! However, there’s enough that I can pick on to prevent me from giving this drama a 9+ rating.Let’s start with my criticisms. “Me and Thee” is a character-driven drama. Everything revolves around Thee and Peach and their romance. It’s not a bad thing but I wanted more. It feels like nothing really happened for most of the drama. It could have spent a little more time on Mok and Rome because they are more interesting than Tawan and Aran. I would love to see how Rome continues to flirt shamelessly and try to break Mok’s armour. I want more of how they fall in love. Maybe they are planning on a special episode or a different season for them. If the drama wants to focus on Tawan and Aran, then I need more than what it gave me. Give me more background story of their past relationship, so that I can understand why Aran couldn’t leave Tawan no matter how hard he tries. The drama spends a little time on showing us how explosive and jealous Tawan could be and that Aran is trying to resist. Yet, the Tawan’s family troubles and their conflict resolved so half-heartedly.
I also didn’t like episode 10 very much. It feels like a filler episode even though it jams a proposal, engagement, wedding and a new family all in one. The romance and humor are not as well-written compared to the last 9 episodes. I do like the humor in the last few minutes when the new GMMTV was introduced. Those cameos were fun.
How about what I like?
POND! Wow… Pond/Thee is the STAR of the show. Oh My Gosh. I laughed out loud so much at Thee’s antics. The character is so consistent from beginning to the end, even though he has matured and grown so much. It proves that you can fall in love and still maintain your personality. Thee is so over-the-top, naive, clingy and possessive, yet he is so darn adorable and gorgeous! Pond did a fabulous job playing this role convincingly. Comparatively, Phuwin did fine and I thought his emotional scenes weren’t as good. Pond and Phuwin have great chemistry. Everytime they are on my screen, I look forward to the crazy things that would come out of Thee’s mouth and then wait for Peach’s patient explanation and lesson in life. I love that Thee takes the time to get to know Peach, and really takes into consideration not to do anything Peach might not like. Peach also accepts Thee for who he is. They have a very healthy relationship of give and take, willing to learn and improve and compromise. I was just a little surprised at the lack of NC scenes, and that there aren’t too many kisses. They are sweet though, just aren’t as passionate or sexy as I thought they would be.
Mok is such a great character to balance Thee’s exaggeration. It’s fun to see Mok try to hold his tongue, roll his eyes and patiently talk some sense into Thee to get rid of those outrageous ideas. The occasional break from boss/employee relationship to best friends is heartwarming. I wish we could see more of them as friends and have some more heart-to-heart conversations.
Thee’s family seems like fun and we only got glimpses of who they really are. I actually want to see more of Thee’s parents and want to know what’s real and what’s rumored regarding the Lee Mafia family.. We also only got a few scenes of Thee and Rome’s bickering and they were so fun. I wanted more!
What else do I like? The good-looking cast! It’s lovely to see these actors all grown up from “We Are” and “Perfect 10 Liners” and not play high school or college students anymore. So many eye candies!
I had a great time watching “Me and Thee” despite a weaker episode 10. The comedy works for me and I just LOVE Pond in this drama. If you are finicky or unsure about the humor, I recommend watching one episode to see if you will fall in love with Pond/Thee or not. If you think he’s too overdramatic and cheesy, then please stop.

it's okay not to be okay... with chocolate
there's a particular feeling that only j-dramas seem capable of conjuring—a kind of quiet comfort and tender endearment. if you've spent any time in the world of japanese dramas, you know exactly what i mean. it's that raw, unvarnished yet light storytelling magic no million-dollar production can replicate.i've been saying for ages that we collectively need more adult-centred dramas on our watchlists, for they usually tend to handle the matters of life and love with unfiltered honesty. 'romantics anonymous' gives us two protagonists trying to carve out a place for themselves in a world that doesn't always make room for them. they eventually learn that they're okay as they are, as long as someone else truly sees and understands them.
apart from the lovely aesthetic and soothing soundtrack (like a balm to your soul, really), the narrative moves at a brisk pace and ties itself beautifully on a human level. you're invited to explore the emotional significance of chocolate, add gorgeous cinematography and just the right amount of chaos, and the whole project becomes a surprisingly heartfelt experience. it even managed to make me cry happy tears, which i count as a small win.
of course, perfection is elusive, so let's talk shortcomings. if you're someone who prioritises romance above all else, the chocolate-making is the main course, while the romance is more of a side dish. all subplots are, really. the story in itself lacks a certain tension and it could all use a bit of nuance. especially the portrayal of mental health, which, at times, feels a bit too light-hearted.
even so, 'romantics anonymous' remains the kind of drama that can gently brighten your slow evening and leave a soft smile on your face. it's lovely, a little messy, yet quietly comforting—a sort of story to remind you that it's okay not to be okay.

Love love love
UPDATE:FInished the series and it is chef's kiss! I love love love this show. I am sad that it finally ended, and that we only got 28 episodes - I definitely could watch more of Yu and Xiu. It was the perfect ending- stay after ending credits for the "real ending"! They couldn't have closed the series in a better way. Definitely worth the watch. So far, this is one of my favorite modern C-dramas. I will not stop talking about this show and its characters. LuYu Xiao and Chen Xing Xu were perfectly cast for this. I adore both. This was such a really well-done romance drama. 10000/10!
_________
19 episodes in and I am in love. This has to be my most fave C-drama of 2025 so far (even of late!) I ate up the premise and everything else about this series so far. I love both main leads, the story - I usually find it hard to understand parallel stories but this one with the VR and real life plots intertwined makes so much sense. I mean most get it difficult to work but this series does it seamlessly and consistently. It also furthers the story. I am so invested. I am just loving everything, and excited to watch the rest.

Most of the kisses were so romantic, my favourites are By JIN and Nishiaki Aina that beautifully tells a story about two couple's in love through 3 kisses.
My least favourite is by the teacher and the high school girl, I find it kinda creepy, with a sense of grooming but I probably shouldn't dwell on it ver much.
Anyway, it's a cute little show.
PS: Thanks for smolsannie for the subs ~

the male lead looks like grown up version of Zhao Lusi's kid in Love Ambition
I picked up minidrama cos i need whimsy once in a while (i just did a maratgon of heavy drama previously) and tiktok recommended this drama for me. I was very surprised to be immersed in the plot, despite how in-the-nose villain characters were. But it was quiet enjoyable, and the 2nd time travelling really threw me off lmao, but in a good way. The plotting and scheming kind of remindes me with "Blossom" Meng Ziyi and Liu Yunrui, and I like the chemisitry between the CP. Hoping foe a good smooth way for them jn the future! Was this review helpful to you?
Not worth the time
Don’t watch it. It is absolutely not worth it. Even by the end, I could not figure out what genre they were aiming for—was it horror, psychological, or romance? The entire story revolves around Mu Hee’s belief that she can never be loved and her tragic past. I despised her uncle and aunt throughout the series, only for the ending to reveal that everything was merely a delusion. That delusion turning out to be her mother made things even more confusing, especially when they showed her supposedly romancing Ho Jin at the same time. Nothing made sense. The sheer number of misunderstandings in this series is unbearable. I have lost count, and they did not even spare the second lead. On top of that, the second couple’s romance came completely out of nowhere. It felt like the writers suddenly decided to include second leads and forced a romance without any proper development or thought.
I watched this drama after a long break, and now I feel like taking another long leave from dramas altogether because this one emotionally exhausted me. They wasted four to five entire episodes just showing the characters sorting out their feelings, finally deciding to express them—only for yet another misunderstanding to appear like a plague. I had been rooting for them to get together for what felt like centuries.
Overall, this drama left me extremely frustrated and mentally drained. I could not make sense of half of what was happening. I definitely do not recommend it unless you want to frustrate yourself to the point of exhaustion.

mukbang scene between Kim Seonho and Go Younjung made me stay
lets start from things i like:of course the cinematography and places! the production team went all out with the budget. Now i have a set of places i want to go to when im going to Japan, Italy, Canada and Spain. Also the actors are all soo pretty, esp Go younjung. she has that boba eyes for sure. moving on to the characters, i'm surprised to root for the second ml. it's cause sota fukushi played it really well! His korean accent wasnt stilted or awkward, and he got charming chemiatry with gyj. I was thinking maybe if she met him first, she would like him better lmao ALSO THE KISS! omg my firat mukbang in 2026 rofl
things i feel lukewarm abt: the sudden love lines in supporting characters. why would there be love linr between pdnim x assistant? idc about their scene at all. and his mom marrying without telling her own son? weird but whtv
and lastly, what i dont like abt this drama is why would there be a sudden alter ego plot? It would be better if they stayed d
digging more into relationship between selebrity x non-seleb, how struggling would an introvert interpreter be dragged into her dazzling showbiz world, the obvious power imbalance would make such a DELICIOUS miscommunication that drive the plot REALISTICALLY. But they choose the DID path, in which even the mental illness wasnt even properly showcased and cared for in the end. i feel like her having alter ego is just for the sake of convenience to... what? we could se how pitiful her background is? to make her closer with the ml? thats just so bizzare to me. I almost dropped this drama if only i didnt see their kissing scene spoiler on tiktok.

"Your delusions are sad because they're beautiful"
Note: I talk about story details as they were essential to connecting my thoughts to the drama. I still tried to avoid heavy spoilers, though. Before anything else, if you’re hesitant to start this drama, I hope you try it first. Test the waters. You can always drop it if it’s not your type. I don’t think extreme negative or extreme positive reviews should be the deciding factor here. This drama depends a lot on what you value emotionally as a viewer.
Going into this drama, my expectations were shaped by the trailer: a slow-burn, slice-of-life romcom. And lots of yearning. Actually, emphasis on the yearning. To some extent, the drama does deliver that vibe, especially in its early stretch. But as the story unfolds, it also reveals a gap between what it wanted to be and what it actually was.
⁂ The first half vs the second half
The opening episodes gave me what I was expecting from the trailer. The pacing is comfortable, the banter easy, and the chemistry between the leads immediately readable. It has a solid romcom foundation, paired with a calm, scenic atmosphere despite the somewhat chaotic energy between the leads.
The second half is when we get to know Do Ra Mi better. When Do Ra Mi finally steps into the story not as an inner voice but as a physical presence, the drama shifts. Unfortunately, this makes a painfully clear shift in tone. Around this point did I realize, however, that the entire story revolved around the FL's inner struggle.
⁂ FL and her alter ego
One of the most important aspects of this drama was the FL’s mental health, especially her hallucinations coming to life (DID), and should've been emphasized more before the drama even started. After all, we realize that this isn’t a minor plot device, it’s in fact central to the story, the romance, and the overall.
I was honestly bummed this wasn’t clearer in the trailer, synopsis, or even the MDL tags. From the description alone, it’s easy to assume the “dual image” simply refers to an actress’s on-cam vs off-cam behavior.
Contrary to some complaints, I didn’t find the reveal abrupt, although the tonal shift in the second half is very evident. As early as ep 2, the hints began as inner voices and hallucinations, tied to past trauma, anxiety, and the pressure of popularity and public perception. Later on, when the FL accepted the alter ego's existence, it becomes clear that Do Ra Mi exists to carry emotions the FL couldn’t process on her own, and conceptually, this could've been one of the drama’s strongest plotlines.
⁂ The rom ....and the com?
The romance itself is a study in contradiction. This is not meant as a negative comment. It was quite entertaining to watch, even if it came with frustrations.
The ML is consistently gentle, thoughtful, and caring, yet also emotionally distant and cold when it comes to the female lead’s feelings. He clearly cares, sometimes too much, but he keeps drawing invisible lines. He’s painfully professional even when he clearly knows the FL’s feelings and is already being swayed himself. His words can be sharp, and he knows they are, yet he doesn’t soften them.
Their dynamic becomes a push and pulls of mutual concern and emotional misalignment. They banter, they communicate, they look after each other… and yet, they never quite speak the same emotional language for quite a while. His jealousy clashes with his emotional restraint, and while this does get addressed to an extent, I wish the drama explored his inner conflicts at least a bit deeply as it explored the FL’s.
What I thought this drama will be filled with was what it lacked: yearning and maybe angst. There was real potential for deeper yearning and angst, especially given the leads’ acting ability, but the drama least commits to it. Ironic how I felt the trailer had a lot stronger yearning than the entire drama. Emotions sometimes feel rushed or underdeveloped, making certain conflicts feel emotionally hollow rather than deep. I felt this especially when Do Ra Mi fully entered the story, I guess understandable because she exists because FL escapes the angst lol. I guess I should blame her for cutting the yearning short. The result is a romance that tells us it’s a painful scene without allowing us to actually feel that pain.
I'm more than okay that misunderstandings are resolved almost as soon as they are introduced, but there were moments that should've let the ache linger longer before the plot moves on. I only felt this after the "breakup" (because they weren't even together yet lol) before Do Ra Mi surfaced.
⁂ The attempt to add everything for every chance possible
I’m not entirely sure what direction the Hong sisters ultimately wanted to take with this drama. At times, it feels messy, not because of the ideas themselves, but because of how abruptly the story shifts tone and focus. One moment we’re grounded and reflective, the next we’re pulled into a comedy skit, then a psychological thriller, then something else entirely.
The alter ego’s goodbye, for instance, arrives with narrative importance but little emotional aftermath. Instead of sitting with the loss or allowing the FL to fully realize being her whole self again, the story quickly feeds us twists to add more problems to the ones barely even resolved.
By the final episodes, the drama introduces yet more twists that feel like they were always meant to matter, but never fully had the space to unfold. There were answers, yes, but also a sense that some mysteries were solved too late to resonate as deeply as they could have had. Maybe it would've been the better choice to leave certain things unanswered.
⁂ Final thoughts
One of the drama’s strongest ideas is stated outright by Mr. Kim, the ML's novelist friend and our second half cupid: everyone has their own personal language, and misinterpretation is inevitable when we assume others speak ours. This theme echoes throughout the series, not just between the leads, but also with the side characters' own stories, and even within the female lead herself.
Although I spoke a lot of what I saw were the cons, the drama isn’t without its strengths. The banter remains consistently charming. The dialogue occasionally lands with surprising emotional clarity, and there are conversations I still remember fondly: the aurora metaphor, the kitchen wordplay, and a few of the quiet moments that briefly captured what this drama could have been at its best.
At its core, this drama did touch on the themes I was looking for. While these ideas weren’t explored as deeply or as satisfyingly as I had hoped, there were moments where they still resonated. Moments where I paused and reflected. In the end, this is a drama I'll choose to remember closer to the feeling that its trailer promised than the story it ultimately told.
