Most Loved Couple of 2025!!!

There is literally no words to describe how much I loved this drama. Really loved the main couple so much. From the romance moments, to the comedy, and to the very touching moments this drama has. For me I felt like it keeps you hooked from the very first episode.

The Story:
This starts out with a tournament of the leads competing from different realms. The female lead who has been raised up as a boy has won this tournament for seven consecutive years when the male lead comes out of nowhere and defeats her. She also finds out that through the battle she was poisoned and her spiritual veins were destroyed. Back as a girl she decides to get close to the male lead to see if he has the antidote for this poison and a whole lot of funny moments happens from them getting close. The moments of these two together are just some of the best. This drama was so well done.

Hou Ming Hao and Lu Yu Xiao:
The main leads chemistry was just off the charts for this drama. I just wanted to keep watching more scenes with just these two. They are going to be one of my fave couples definitely. I loved everything about these two and how they played their characters. There is really nothing else to say about these two they were just incredible just watch them and see if you would feel the same way.

Quan Yi Lun and He Nan:
The second couple I just think needs a mention. I really enjoyed them together to from the first time you see a scene of these two. I do kinda wished there would of been more for their romance cause I actually loved these two I know it is a bit annoying when they try to do try to focus on the second couple, but I would of liked more for these two. They were cute together.

Yu Cheng En: (maybe a spoiler?)
Have to have a bit of a rant for his character Situ Ling. Of course they had to do the obsessive second male lead like always. I am really sick of this kind of character. Especially when it comes out of the smallest gesture from the female lead. Granted he did some things for the female lead that was so sweet, but he didn't have to be of the obsessive type where even the female lead is asking him "Why the obsession." I loved the actor who played Situ Ling and he played the part so well I just really hate what they do with his character and wish they would stop this. At least they didn't try to redeem him.

If you are a romance lover this is definitely a must watch for you. The romance is really just the best!!!

Fantasy C-drama exceeded my expectations

Ordinary Drama Title, didn't expect much and was very skeptical. Started the show only because of Liu Yu Ning's OST. However, the striking good looks of the ML hooked me in the 1st episode. Fairies and demons, dragon and beasts, watch this show with your Fantasy lenses. I like the story and the cast. ML & FL have good chemistry, very swoon-worthy for those who like Romance. The sound tracks are nice, especially the one sung by the ML. I'm loving Hou Ming Hao's acting. Very steady and comfortable to watch.

MAJOR SPOILERS!!

This was a masterpiece literally! Everything was so pretty when it came to this drama. The actors' visuals, the setting, the music, and the story were all done so well. This story flew so harmoniously that I couldn't stop watching. This is definitely a drama where you have to binge watch it because you just can't stop. I also loved the HAPPY ending, thank goodness. I don't think I could have dealth with a sad ending for these 2 characters. They just went through so much together, so they deserved their happy ending. This drama also came full circle at the end which was so comforting to see.

PS. Hou Minghao and Lu Yuxiao are the perfect pairing. The natural chemistry and banter that they are able to engage in around each other is so refreshing to see. Their personalities just connect perfectly with eachother. ❤️❤️

BIG SPOILERS NEXT:

"My love for you isn't just a little. You don't know how much I care about you. My heart just has you in it." That whole bath scene was so touching, with Ji Bozai realizing that Ming Yi loves him too. And his softened gaze after hearing that. The way that they both claim to not have any feelings, but then always show up for each other. Ming Yi is so strong too as a person.

Bro, when 27 died...I sobbed (I wrote this before I knew he comes back). Genuinely, he was such a strong support system for Ming Yi and always showed up for her physically and emotionally. Also, him and Bu Xiu's relationship is not talked about enough.

AHHH...骗子(pianzi), finally the famous saying (also Ji Bozai's smile:)). That scene was amazing. Ji Bozai realizing that he knows who she truly is and her still trying to be in denial.

"You're far more important to me than I imagined." Aww...Ji Bozai's teasing with Ming Yi is so cute. I love the parallel between her getting poisoned through her favorite food and then Ji Bozai secretly giving her the antidote through her favorite food too. His smile when doing that was so genuine.

I don't know how to feel about Situ Ling. For one, I feel bad for him because he spends so much time and effort to save Ming Yi. But, also I don't know where that care comes from. Because with Ji Bozai, you can clearly see that he is doing it to help Ming Yi no matter what. Even with giving her the Golden Millet Dream, he never told her that he did it and even let her believe that Situ Ling helped heal her. This is because Ji Bozai doesn't care about who gets the credit as long as Ming Yi is healthy. I mean, yes, he did get jealous, but he still didn't reveal his actions. But, Situ Ling is not the same. He wants to use his help in order to gain Ming Yi's favor.

Also, oh my goodness. The plot twist is insane. Ji Bozai is poisoned by the Heavenly Grief, but gave the only antidote meant for him to Ming Yi without even batting an eye. It could poison him at any time, but he didn't care about himself. That is actual true love. Not only that, but Ming Yi is the daughter of Bo Yuchen and Master Shen!!!

What in the world is this 2nd plot twist? Broo..Ji Bozai has suffered through so much, always getting abandoned by everyone around him. He relapsed with the Heavenly Grief to save Ming Yi and even through sacrificing their love did he save Ming Yi from having to see him in that state. Ji Bozai is always thinking of other people.

"We live together and we die together." That literally summarizes their relationship. The last battle was so harmonious and beautifully done. You can fully see the trust they have in each other.

Side Note: I also loved the little bit of the relationship we got to see between Yan Xiao and the Princess. It was so sweet, as they have always been each other's support system to them growing into a couple.

It’s a package

It’s a total package, there is everything from romance, drama, angst, story to comedy… and plz give me a moment to appreciate the visuals. The cast is so visually appealing like wow, HMH visuals are on a whole different dimension, obv even the side characters here are good looking, their costumes are so pretty…
Now talking abt the leads ML is such a kind cutie, who, despite suffering from worse stuff is still so green flag coded.. like a separate drama can be made based on this sufferings alone but the pretty boy never let that shape his personality like SML turned villain did, his acting was as always spot on, every emotion is very well expressed and he is STUNNING, like I got lost in his looks time and again.
FL is such a versatile and pretty actress, she did complete justice to her character, I’ve watched her other dramas and she was spot on here. She matched HMH not just on visuals but acting and chemistry… talking abt the character, she annoys you at one point, trust me! when she just doesn’t tell the damn truth and going round and round with it but that is crucial for the revelations later so tolerate that part plz..
All the other characters also did really well, they did justice to their characters… Situ ling did amazingly well playing the obsessed sml turned villain, his character development was good.
All in all, real good drama, entertaining and be ready to be wowed with the visuals

A Masterpiece of "Sacrificial Intelligence

The brilliance of this version lies in its refusal to use the "misunderstanding" trope. In Episode 23, when Ming Yi discovers there is only one dose of the Golden Millet Dream antidote, she doesn't lie out of malice. She leaves Ji Bozai because she knows his noble heart—if he knew she was also dying from the Heavenly Grief poison, he would sacrifice himself to save her.
By choosing to leave and hunt for an "impossible" second antidote, she protects his life. This sets the stage for a dual-narrative of sacrifice that is far more impactful than any standard betrayal plot.
The "Abyss" Arc: From Tragedy to Godhood
The storyline takes a breathtaking turn at the Cloud-Reaching Peaks. The Second Queen of Yaoguang, a mastermind who seeks to destroy the Golden Millet bloodline to empower her Netherbeast, traps Ming Yi. In a heart-shattering climax:
The Ultimate Gift: Ji Bozai, having decoded the "dots" of Ming Yi’s true identity, forces his own antidote into her and falls into the deep abyss to save her.
The Tearing Rage: Ming Yi’s transformation as she kills the Queen in a fit of divine fury is the most cathartic moment of the series. Her regret—wishing she had shared the truth—becomes the fuel for her multi-year search for his body.
The Transcendence: Decoding the Void
While Ming Yi searches the surface, the story reveals Ji Bozai’s survival. He didn't just fall; he used his brilliant mind to decode the "hidden meanings" in Ming Yi’s final words to find a safe landing.
The God-Level Grind: Trapped in a void, he meets the dying Owner of the Golden Millet Dream. For years, he faces "infinite difficult challenges," training until he reaches God Level.
The Romantic Shortcut: In an act of ultimate devotion, he doesn't just gain power for himself; he researches a "shortcut" for Ming Yi so they can achieve immortality together.
The Reunion: A Soul-Deep Satisfaction
The reunion isn't just a romantic hug—it is a cosmic alignment. After years of separation and "longing that couldn't be held back," Ming Yi finds a man who has literally conquered the laws of the universe to get back to her. Her realization that her "delayed revenge" allowed them to meet as equals (rather than dying in a suicide mission) adds a layer of divine destiny to their love.
The Final Battle: Wits Over Power
The climax against the Immortal of the Netherbeast (the "Evil Immortality") is the most satisfying end to a series in recent memory.
The Strategy: Before the swords are drawn, they use their "joined smart brains" to dismantle the villain's mind-games.
The Message: It proves that while their God-level power is immense, their coordinated intelligence is their greatest weapon

female acting is so good however male lead..

The male lead comes across as extremely arrogant right from the beginning, and the female lead is abruptly defeated in a Nerf-style PvP encounter for no clear or justified reason. This sets a deeply problematic tone for the drama, especially since the male lead is immediately positioned as overwhelmingly dominant, overshadowing a character who by all established lore should be formidable in her own right.

It feels particularly unfair and even regressive when you consider that the female lead is portrayed as a legendary champion who has triumphed countless times, only to lose inexplicably to a previously unknown male protagonist the moment he appears. This narrative choice doesn’t just undermine her credibility, it borders on being disrespectful to her character and, by extension, to female viewers who value strong, capable women in fiction.

Moreover, the story claims she was born into a prestigious, well-known family yet somehow couldn’t access a cure for her condition, despite having survived intense battles for years. That inconsistency strains believability. If she’s truly been a top-tier fighter enduring life-or-death struggles, how has she managed to stay alive without either finding a cure or developing effective coping mechanisms? The lack of logical world-building here weakens the entire premise.

Ultimately, this kind of storytelling seems designed solely to inflate the male lead’s status at the expense of the female lead’s established strength and legacy, prioritizing his dominance over gender equality and narrative fairness.

That said, the female lead herself is genuinely impressive: skilled, resilient, and compelling. On her merits alone, I’d give her character a solid 7/10. But when rating the drama as a whole, considering its flawed writing, regressive dynamics, and inconsistent logic, the overall score plummets to about 0.1/10. It’s a frustrating waste of a great female character in service of an overinflated male fantasy.

Honestly, it’s been such a long time since a drama hooked me from the very first teaser — but The moment I saw HMH and Lu Yu Xiao together, I just knew it was going to be special. Their chemistry — so natural and effortless, almost giving me Bailu and Leo vibes (and that’s saying something).

The pacing is consistent — no random dragging, no rushed chaos. It balances humor, mystery, and action so well that I didn’t find myself skipping a single scene. The story just flows — enough tension to keep me curious but not overwhelming.

The characters are where this drama really shines. Ji Bozai powerful kind thoughtful and every xyz of s perfect ML , Ming Yi, on the other hand, is strong, witty, and full of personality — she complements him perfectly. And villain??? More like a chain of villains! One revealing the other.

Visually, it’s stunning. The sets, costumes, and overall aesthetic — everything feels rich and magical without looking exaggerated. You can tell a lot of thought went into every frame as far as CGI is concerned. The music🎵🎶 fits beautifully too, setting a good tone to the overall emotion.

this show made me laugh, feel, and stay curious all at once. It’s emotional, funny, and surprisingly well-balanced.❤️

immersive and Totally worth watching.🫢🙂

I FRICKIN LOVE JI BOZAI🙇‍♀️🙏
The chemistry between the leads is amazinggggg
Love everything about this❤️❤️❤️
The actors⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The plot⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The angsty scenes in between⭐️⭐️⭐️
The fl isn’t a pushover and the ml doesn’t fall for her at first sight. There feelings grow and eventually its just AAAAAHHHHHH I WOULD DIE FOR YOUUU
Lost one star because the ending was unsatisfying to me, really rushed and deviated from the novel’s ending which I heard about and preferred. Another reason, idk ,maybe the vfx sometimes, obviously no vfx is perfect and this is actually one of the good ones but again those high budget Hollywood movies do set vfx standards high.

ABURRIDO

Chemistry Carries ?

Acting:

The lead actors did an amazing job 🥹 Their chemistry was the biggest highlight for me—every scene felt natural and full of sparks. The emotions really came through and made me feel attached to their story.

The supporting cast was decent; they weren’t distracting, but also not very memorable.

Story:

Aside from the lead’s relationship, I wasn’t very invested in the overall plot. The story concept is actually good, but 36 episodes felt too long 😅 After episode 24, I found myself skipping and fast-forwarding quite a lot.

Music:

The BGM and OST were really catchy 🎶 I often caught myself humming the songs while doing random things, which I think says a lot about how memorable they were.

Rewatch Value:

I might rewatch this drama just to relive the amazing chemistry between the leads 🥰—but probably only up to episode 24.

Acting is great! Plot has it's pros/cons but overall a good watch

This plot line is very reflective of it's original source and you can tell it's based off a novel. It keeps you interested and intrigued throughout with it's twists/turns and it's unexpected surprises around every corner. The plot is deep, well though out, and quite intricate. There's these little details they've snuck in there that I didn't know until I rewatched some episodes and I really appreciated the thought that went into those moments. I've been watching a lot of short dramas lately so the depth and intricacy of a long drama was refreshing. However, that's also the downside of this drama. The plot in the middle lost it's steam a bit. While the beginning was cute, had multiple comedic moments that I really enjoyed, and moved along at a good pace, the middle tbh was quite slow/boring for me and I legit fell asleep at one point. They spent way too much time on that netherbeast section and I was over it at that point. I couldn't wait to get to the last third of the drama. They tried to maintain some of the initial comedy but as expected, as the storyline got more serious, the comedic moments because fewer and fewer. ML, FL, and all the other actors were all very good and I enjoyed their acting a lot. I don't have anything to be critical of the actors themselves, mostly a plot thing. Worth a watch!

Love in the Clouds ❤️

Welcome to my review of Love in the Clouds.

Love in the Clouds follows Ming Yi, who is poisoned during a tournament and sets out to find a cure. Believing her enemy is responsible, she gets close to him, only to uncover a much deeper and more tragic story.

At first, I honestly didn’t enjoy the series. It took around nine episodes before it really found its rhythm, and if it hadn’t received such high ratings, I probably would have dropped it early on. One of my biggest struggles with Xianxia dramas is how difficult they are for newcomers to understand. The series throws viewers into a huge fantasy world without properly explaining its cultivation system, currency, power scaling, or even how the Six Realms actually work. Even halfway through the drama, I was still confused about what the Six Realms were because only two of them were ever explored in any meaningful way. While the world is visually beautiful, I constantly felt like I was missing important information that would have made the story much easier to follow.

Despite that, the series has many strengths.

The biggest highlight is undoubtedly the two main characters. Ming Yi and Ji Bozai have incredible chemistry, and their emotional scenes are some of the strongest I’ve seen in a C-drama. In my opinion, their relationship is the main reason why the series is so highly rated.

The story also became surprisingly engaging once everything started coming together. Ji Bozai’s tragic past, his desire for revenge after losing his master, and Ming Yi’s own struggle for survival create an emotional and compelling narrative. I especially enjoyed how the mystery surrounding the antidote was handled. The reveal that Ji Bozai had secretly given it to Ming Yi long before was a clever twist that I genuinely didn’t see coming.

The production is another strong point. The costumes are beautiful and detailed, while the soundtrack perfectly enhances the emotional moments throughout the series.

My favorite scene was Ming Yi’s betrayal, when she tries to steal the antidote. Both characters clearly love each other but are forced into opposing positions because of their own responsibilities and promises. The mixture of love, fear, anger, sacrifice, and tragedy—especially with the death of the cat—made this one of the most memorable scenes in the entire drama.

Unfortunately, the series also has several weaknesses.

Worldbuilding

My biggest criticism of Love in the Clouds is its worldbuilding. While the world itself is visually beautiful and clearly filled with history, it rarely explains its own rules. As someone who isn’t familiar with Xianxia, I found it extremely difficult to understand how this universe actually works.

The cultivation system, the currency, the power scaling, and even the structure of the world are barely explained. For example, I never fully understood what the stones used as currency actually were. Are they cultivation stones? Precious gems? Why do they have different colors? Does the color determine their value? The series never gives clear answers, leaving many aspects of the world feeling vague.

The power system is equally confusing. Characters become stronger through cultivation and knowledge rather than physical training, but the drama never properly explains how cultivation works or how large power jumps are possible. Different realms and levels are constantly mentioned, yet there is very little explanation of what separates them or how they relate to one another.

The biggest example is the Six Realms. For more than half of the series, I had no idea what everyone meant whenever they talked about them because only the Jinxing Abyss and the Mountain Clan received any real attention. It wasn’t until much later that it became clear there were actually four other realms, but by then they still felt underdeveloped. Instead of gradually introducing the world, the drama throws the viewer into a complex universe and expects them to figure everything out on their own.

Because of this, the world often felt much smaller than it should have. Although the lore suggests a massive fantasy universe, we only get to explore a tiny part of it. I constantly wanted to learn more about the other realms, their cultures, and how this world truly functions, but the series never fully delivers on that potential.

The limited number of filming locations also becomes noticeable over time. Many scenes reuse the same rooms and environments, making the world feel repetitive instead of vast and alive.

I also felt that Ling Situ and the fox girl deserved much better. Ling Situ was one of the few characters who genuinely helped Ming Yi without expecting anything in return, yet he was often treated coldly. Meanwhile, the fox girl became one of the most tragic characters in the series, and I believe she deserved a much happier ending.

The action scenes were probably my biggest disappointment. The fights often felt slow, lacked impact, and the CGI creatures failed to feel convincing. Compared to other fantasy productions, the combat simply wasn’t exciting enough.

Finally, I found the ending somewhat unsatisfying. Although everyone achieves peace and the Six Realms begin sharing the Blessed Rain, it felt like the series removed many of the world’s original conflicts too easily. Earlier sacrifices and tournaments lose much of their meaning when the solution turns out to be simple cooperation all along.

Final Rating

Despite my criticisms, I genuinely enjoyed Love in the Clouds. It offers a touching romance, memorable emotional moments, beautiful music, and excellent chemistry between its two leads. At the same time, I believe the worldbuilding, action, and overall use of its fascinating setting never fully reached their potential.

I would definitely recommend this drama to viewers who prioritize romance, emotional storytelling, and strong character relationships over perfectly explained fantasy lore and action.

Thank you for reading my review! I’d love to hear your thoughts and know whether you agree or disagree with my opinions.🪽🌸
