✨Proud Graduate of LITC University — Majored in Suffering, Survived the Happy Ending✨

I don't even know where to start. This drama was a rollercoaster, the kind that starts with pretty visuals and ends with you emotionally concussed but smiling like an idiot.

It gave me everything I was craving from the lead couple duo—and simultaneously robbed me of peace, sleep, and the will to move on. Watching Love in the Clouds is like ordering dessert and getting served a flaming cocktail of heartbreak and obsession on the side. Delicious, yes, but also... why am I both crying and grinning at the same time??

Visuals: criminally gorgeous.
Ji Bozai walks around like a forbidden daydream someone leaked from a fanfic draft, and Ming Yi? My celestial menace, my ethereal queen—she could blink and I’d compose sonnets. Whoever styled them deserves a national award and an apology from everyone else.

Chemistry? Nuclear.
They lie to each other, they know they’re lying, and still commit to the act like it’s a full-time job with benefits. It’s sexy, chaotic, and morally questionable in all the best ways. Then—they start catching feelings, and suddenly I’m cheering for two emotionally repressed disaster souls fumbling their way into love. Also, those kisses? The ML was devouring her like rent was due. I had to pause to breathe.

Character depth: both leads are layered, subtly portrayed, and beautifully matched—two people of the same heart and mind, equally brilliant and broken. Watching them collide and heal each other feels like witnessing divine irony wrapped in longing.

The plot twists? Delicious. The post-reveal dynamic? Even better. Once Ji Bozai dropped the brooding act and turned into a menace with intent, I achieved temporary enlightenment. He’s shameless, in love, and completely gone for her—and I loved every second.

The supporting cast adds richness and warmth, especially the companion beasts—loyal, pure manifestations of their masters’ souls. Their dynamic was tender, funny, and surprisingly emotional. Their growing friendship? The cutest celestial subplot imaginable.

And speaking of friendships: Love in the Clouds quietly but powerfully celebrates female solidarity.
The women in this story—be they immortal warriors, disciples, or queens of their own chaos—stand by each other with grace, loyalty, and quiet ferocity. We get moments of sisterhood, mutual respect, and that rare “we’re stronger together” energy that makes you want to stand up and cheer.

Now, let’s talk frustration.
The dragged-out secret identity arc aged me a decade. Every time I thought we were free, the writers said, “Plot twist!” and roundhouse-kicked my soul. Episode 31 hit like a divine truck—my spirit ascended, crashed, and still begged for more.

And of course, the eternal Delulu Second Male Lead curse.
My guy looked in the mirror, saw “romantic rival,” and said, “Time to self-destruct.” I prayed for peace and got psychological warfare instead. Credit where it’s due though—the actor ate that role. The comment section may never recover.

But here’s the thing: despite the chaos, Love in the Clouds sticks the landing. The final episodes delivered emotional closure, a surprisingly wholesome resolution, and—miracle of miracles—the main crew made it out alive. The ending felt earned, unhurried, and deeply satisfying. I closed the last episode warm, fuzzy, and slightly feral from all the emotions, but content.

2025 offered many good dramas, but this one carved its name straight into my chaotic little heart.
HMH and LYX—if the heavens are listening, reunite again. You two were pure cinematic alchemy.

Worth a watchhh

This is soooo damn good.. Visual treat. I can't imagine this drama ending. Both the leads have done a fantastic job. This drama is EVERYTHING I didn’t know I needed. From the first episode, I was completely hooked — the story, the romance, the fantasy world… it’s all so magical!

JBZ and MY have the most amazing chemistry ever. I literally can’t stop smiling at their scenes together. The way their relationship grows from rivals to… well, you just have to watch it, it’s perfect! 💖

And the visuals!! The costumes, the fight scenes, the scenery — every single shot is gorgeous. I feel like I’m actually inside this magical world. The supporting characters are great too, each adding something exciting to the story.

Honestly, I can’t find a single thing to complain about. Even the slower moments at the start felt necessary to build the story. But wow, once the plot picks up, it’s impossible to stop watching!

My Highest Anticipated CDrama since last year, Did NOT Disappoint!!

After savoring the last few episodes, I finally finished 🥲

About a year ago, I came across a BTS of the infamous kiss scene🔥 between our leads and decided I MUST watch this. So I put it in my plan to watch, and here we are a whole 12 months or so later. I must say, I was captivated from the very first episode.

The start of the drama was, in my opinion, faultless. Our FL disguising herself as a man, battling for honor and winning the tournament for years in a row, only to be best by our mysterious ML. Re-embracing her original identity as a woman and approaching him to steal a treasure only he possesses, she infiltrates his life again and again trying to gain his trust. The whole "pretending to be someone I'm not, trying to seduce him to make him fall in love with me so I can steal his hidden antidote" part lasts quite a few episodes, maybe a tiny bit too long, but it was my favorite part. Our FL's witty humor and fake naivety sets an easy to watch vibe for the drama.

The ML on the other hand, is quite hard to read at first. He seems to be a playboy with carnal fixations, but really pushes away anyone who gets too close. That is, until the FL forces her way in. Their chemistry from the beginning is amazing, and he pretends to fall for her too, which has all of us wondering WHY? hmm

Anyways, their romance starts off like that. And gets better and better!! And truly, they are both just really beautiful the more you look at them.

The side characters are also so lovable🐱🐉 and while our second couple doesn't get a lot of screen time, they are just as adorable and visually stunning. Really, there are so many beautiful cast members in this one🤭

The main villain is beautiful and his story is heartbreaking. I must say, I didn't cry at all in this drama except when a certain scene with our villain later on (sorry, don't want to spoil) pulls at my heartstrings. It's really a villain whose backstory is what caused him to become evil, so you can't really blame him to the core...

If I had to find some faults, I would have two main. One is not plot-based, but the voice over for our FL was terrible. I know it's her own voice dubbed but the lips don't match it at all and most of the time it would distract me from really resonating with her character. For example, she's an excellent actress, but in a scene where she's tortured (SORRY minor spoiler) her labored breathing with her dialogue does not match. So I didn't really feel as empathetic as I would have. The other characters are fine though. The second is minor, and I guess it would be considered one of the few plotholes of the drama-- a certain "obvious to everyone except you" secret takes forever to be revealed.

Oh, and that KISS SCENE I saw a BTS of? Scrapped. THEY DIDN'T INCLUDE IT. 😤

Full time intense Romance

I don't even know what to say. This drama blessed my eyes with ethereal visuals, especially when Ji Bo Zai's hair turned white and his make-up; it was just too beautiful, and of course, I cannot forget our fairy Ming Yi's visuals; her acting was superb. In terms of the genre, the director and writer really fed us the audience very well with the romance genre. It was very intense, which caused me to have butterflies in my stomach and made my heart flutter a lot. However, it was not that impactful to me apart from the romance, but I definitely recommend people to watch this drama, and I know you will like it.

Best of 2025 and of the genre as well

The genre is enemies to lovers and THIS ONE IS WORTH THE HYPE!
Its one of the best. Genuinely enjoyed watching their chemistry. Its was definitely electrifying.
The supporting characters were also super cute and the pacing decent for a 36 ep drama. It could have been a 32 ep drama in my opinion. Less is always more

A beautiful drama

Wow,

So i watched the last 4 episodes somewhere else as Me and other people couldn't wait patiently for netflix.
So I finished last 4 eps last night and WOW.
I even had chills which is rare, but i had chills, cried in a moment or 2.
To me the story was like a flow of water like the show ran smoothly without any boringness to it. I think the story telling was great phenomenal. I was very very happy with the ending. I thought things would go another way or so but it didn't. The romance between ji bozai and ming yi were great. I liked the kiss bite. that had me. Overall great. Would i rewatch it again probably, but i would probably rewatch WDBTD thats just my opinion. but i really liked this drama.

Drawn in by the visuals, stayed for the story

I’ll be honest, I started Love in the Clouds for the most superficial reason possible: the cover. The male and female leads looked stunning, and I thought, why not give it a try? What I didn’t expect was how quickly a simple curiosity watch would turn into a drama I was genuinely invested in.

One of the biggest hooks for me was the male lead. He carries this quiet, mysterious energy that naturally makes you want to understand him, and that intrigue pulled me in almost immediately.

The drama never really felt slow; instead, it gave me nostalgic vibes similar to the Chinese fantasy films I used to watch when I was younger. Even the mystical elements, the hand movements, the powers, felt familiar in a comforting way rather than overwhelming. If anything, the visual style sometimes reminded me of Doctor Strange, which made the world easier to sink into.

The chemistry between the leads is consistently strong. This is one of those couples you naturally support, but the drama doesn’t beg you to root for them, their relationship unfolds so organically that you simply do. Their softer moments were genuinely adorable without becoming overly sugary.

The acting deserves real praise. Not just from the main leads, but across the supporting cast as well. And I have to talk about the cat and the dragon, they absolutely stole my heart. Their dynamic brought warmth, charm, and sometimes even emotional grounding to the story. It’s rare for companion characters to feel this memorable.

On the other hand, the final antagonist was easily the most frustrating character for me. His inability to move past his obsession with the female lead tested my patience more than once. But to be fair, that frustration is proof he played his role well.

Visually, the drama is beautiful. The costumes, styling, and overall production elevate the fantasy atmosphere, and nearly every character looks effortlessly perfect, something that really enhances immersion in a world like this.

The plot balances familiarity with unpredictability. You can often sense the emotional direction the story is taking, yet the journey still manages to surprise you. Importantly, this isn’t a drama that relies solely on romance. At its core is a story about altered destinies, two lives changed at birth, yet somehow still drawn together as if fate refuses to be rewritten.

Now, about the ending: the finale battle. It didn’t lower my opinion of the drama at all; it simply left me curious... I just wish we could have seen who would actually win in a real fight! Still, the emotional resolution is satisfying enough that it feels more intriguing than frustrating.

This is a drama I would absolutely rewatch, not only because I enjoyed it, but because it genuinely has quality. At times, it even felt like the kind of story that could support a second season.

Emotionally, it delivers where it matters. There were romantic scenes that made me want to hide behind a pillow, and heartbreaking moments that nearly brought me to tears, exactly the kind of emotional engagement I hope for in a fantasy romance.

Overall, I’d place Love in the Clouds comfortably above average. It may not reinvent the genre, but it succeeds at what it sets out to do: delivering a beautiful mix of romance, action, destiny, and magic.

Recommended for: anyone who enjoys fantasy dramas with strong chemistry, emotional weight, and an immersive mystical world.

Best villain arc

Main couple was cute. I liked the beginning a lot. I wish the steam level remained the same in the second half of the show. I also didn’t anticipate that little plot twist.

And of course Yu Cheng En was just amazing as Situ Ling and he really needs more main roles in historical dramas. I think toward the end I was hoping he’d be like the Emperor in Shadow Love. Overall, engaging drama with everything I love in a fantasy. One of the better ones I’ve seen this year.

Most Loved Couple of 2025!!!

There is literally no words to describe how much I loved this drama. Really loved the main couple so much. From the romance moments, to the comedy, and to the very touching moments this drama has. For me I felt like it keeps you hooked from the very first episode.

The Story:
This starts out with a tournament of the leads competing from different realms. The female lead who has been raised up as a boy has won this tournament for seven consecutive years when the male lead comes out of nowhere and defeats her. She also finds out that through the battle she was poisoned and her spiritual veins were destroyed. Back as a girl she decides to get close to the male lead to see if he has the antidote for this poison and a whole lot of funny moments happens from them getting close. The moments of these two together are just some of the best. This drama was so well done.

Hou Ming Hao and Lu Yu Xiao:
The main leads chemistry was just off the charts for this drama. I just wanted to keep watching more scenes with just these two. They are going to be one of my fave couples definitely. I loved everything about these two and how they played their characters. There is really nothing else to say about these two they were just incredible just watch them and see if you would feel the same way.

Quan Yi Lun and He Nan:
The second couple I just think needs a mention. I really enjoyed them together to from the first time you see a scene of these two. I do kinda wished there would of been more for their romance cause I actually loved these two I know it is a bit annoying when they try to do try to focus on the second couple, but I would of liked more for these two. They were cute together.

Yu Cheng En: (maybe a spoiler?)
Have to have a bit of a rant for his character Situ Ling. Of course they had to do the obsessive second male lead like always. I am really sick of this kind of character. Especially when it comes out of the smallest gesture from the female lead. Granted he did some things for the female lead that was so sweet, but he didn't have to be of the obsessive type where even the female lead is asking him "Why the obsession." I loved the actor who played Situ Ling and he played the part so well I just really hate what they do with his character and wish they would stop this. At least they didn't try to redeem him.

If you are a romance lover this is definitely a must watch for you. The romance is really just the best!!!

Fantasy C-drama exceeded my expectations

Ordinary Drama Title, didn't expect much and was very skeptical. Started the show only because of Liu Yu Ning's OST. However, the striking good looks of the ML hooked me in the 1st episode. Fairies and demons, dragon and beasts, watch this show with your Fantasy lenses. I like the story and the cast. ML & FL have good chemistry, very swoon-worthy for those who like Romance. The sound tracks are nice, especially the one sung by the ML. I'm loving Hou Ming Hao's acting. Very steady and comfortable to watch.
