As you're currently viewing this, what are your impressions up to this point?Simi_Tutu:
So far, so cute! Both leads are compelling characters, and it doesn't feel like ML is the only one with depth and complexity! They're highly compatible and fit the virago/mollis label quite thoroughly. Het fem x fem ships are rare, and I usually find them lacking, but this one is adorable! As I mentioned earlier, I'm positively surprised with how they tackled FL's character. Japan doesn't have an impressive record when it comes to their FLs, especially in these crossdressing shows, where it sometimes is so bad it feels like misogyny in a different font. This FL is very normal person-esque. She isn't bold and flamboyant like ML is, but she isn't a shy uwu girl that can't even talk either. She's normal and terribly relatable. Like girl, same. Liking femboys is not for the weak.
It's also quite amusing, especially with the narcissitic flamboyant, femboy misogynist SML. He's a barrel of laughs. Can't wait for him to get schooled.
Especially kudos for the way they handled FL's period arc,, where it was actually about her and not just an opportunity for ML to show off his caretaker skills. I also think FL might have PMDD, and this is the only time I've seen this mentioned in media ever so that was really nice.
I'd honestly hesitate to label this drama as a cross-dressing drama, though. Mostly because yes, both MLs are feminine and dress feminine, but it's not outright women's clothing that he (at least ML) wears. I guess in that sense, it's more androgynous? Idk, maybe I'm overcomplicating the labels, haha. But if you like true crossdressing dramas, then Princess Jellyfish was lovely.
I’ve made attempts to get into them, but every time I do, I just feel a sense of boredom. These dramas typically start with a strong hook but then tend to slow down in the middle.Simi_Tutu:
You just described cdramas XD
I feel you, though. Something about them is hard to get into... and this is coming from a sci-fi/fantasy nerd! I watched two eps of Till the End of the Moon and was really not feeling it fsr... Idk what gives. I usually like this kinda stuff.
I’m really looking forward to watching The Prisoner of Beauty this year!Simi_Tutu:
....Oh..... weeeeeell..... I hope you like it more than I did

This is just how I feel, and I apologize for the long explanation.Simi_Tutu:
No, no, you make good points. I generally also agree, and this is the main reason I don't participate of celebirty culture, 'cause it's just so disappointing (and boring, but that's besides the point). I also agree with your statement of going mad worrying about everything... God knows the world is bleak enough as is; if even entertainment starts becoming like this, I don't know how we'd survive, tbh.
I take solace in my jack sparrowing ways and at least not supporting the nasty individuals (especially corporations)
As for the drama, I'm still itching to watch it. I just think I need to wait until my brain forgets the whole situation a bit. I really do wanna watch it 'cause it's like an RR classic and people say it's so good, so I wanna at least check it out!
I really dislike stories that have strong bullying themes; it's quite challenging to endure.Simi_Tutu:
Valid, that was also putting me off. Especially kdramas just cut it real thick, which I guess is valid considering the issues they have, but also a bit tedious, I'm ngl. If I watch it, I'll let you know how strong the bullying is.
LOL, I was actually planning to start watching this one today after spotting it on one of your lists, but I got caught up in another drama, haha. However, I will definitely watch it this year.Simi_Tutu:
Imagine if we would've started it at the same time without talking about it, haha xD
YOU NEED TO WATCH! THE ANGEL ML IS SUCH A PUPPY; HE'S SO PURE!Simi_Tutu:
You're the reason it's so high on my PTW now! Really looking forward to a good puppy ML, feels like it's been a while since I've seen one on my screen *wistful sigh*
let's try and double our 100 Pages for second year anniversary!Simi_Tutu:
Yay, sounds like a plan! We're already starting out strong!
we still have the male lead to swoon over.Simi_Tutu:
Potato and I were talking about this earlier, and my issue with enemies-to-lovers is that the times when it's not just rivalry or slight mutual dislike, it's just an abusive POS ML ToT So there's no swooning taking place, it's just nasty. I do like the trope in theory, but in execution? Yikes... Might find it more appealing if the leads were on equal footing (and not constantly torturing each other) or if FL was the more vicious/cruel one. Like, why does 'enemies' = 'torture word-that-rhymes-with-corn"?
I also like friends-to-lovers in theory, but just find it so f*cking boring.
I don't have many titles under either of those tags, though, so I guess that goes to show how I feel about them, haha.
But lovers to enemies.... now THAT'S interesting! I seem to like established couples the most, lol.
Don't ask me why sometimes I censor my swears and sometimes not.... I still don't know MDL's take on swearing, so sometimes I remember and restrain myself a bit.
Going through my endless PTW listArclei:
Right off the bat, glancing at your list, I can already check one off for you: Love Is Science? Total waste of time, especially with those episode lengths. If you're not into BL, just skip this one, trust me. The series was painfully slow. The episodes felt like they lasted forever, and the female lead? Yikes, not appealing at all. She strung the male lead along for ages, and honestly, it felt like she was just using his kindness for free haircuts. I'm being 100% real here; he seemed like he was letting her walk all over him, barely standing up for himself. It was driving me up the wall! The only reason I stuck with the series as long as I did—believe me, I skipped a ton of scenes and still got the plot—was because there was a BL couple in there with a female added to the mix. So, it was like a happy gay couple with a friend/family member. Spoiler alert? Not really, because if you check the drama, it's all over the comment section. But yeah, they were the highlight of the show, and they barely got any screen time! Most of the time, we were just stuck with that main couple dragging the series down.

My second Aoharu - is totally my guilty pleasure. I rated it a 9.5, even though it probably deserves a lower score, but come on, the male lead is one of my fave J-pop idols, so obviously, it shot up to a 9.5. This show is just adorable and hilariously funny, and sure, it gets a bit serious in the middle, but I can't help but adore the female lead. And again, it's Michieda Shunsuke we're talking about—he's just so ridiculously beautiful , lol.
Filter- This series totally caught me off guard. It's downright hilarious. Sure, it took me a hot minute to warm up to the ML, but once you get a taste of his nerdy personality, he really starts to grow on you. The story? Absolutely beautiful, and the message behind it is just as lovely. But the second couple— I am obsessed! This series was the one that sent me spiraling down the Gao Han Yu rabbit hole. It's the reason I stumbled upon Exploration Method of Love. And if you’ve seen my countless posts from last year, you know this drama is one of my all-time favorite guilty pleasures. I adore it! The female lead is a riot and such a vibe. She's a total boss babe, while he’s all about that submissive life in this drama. If you haven’t watched Filter yet, then at lest watch EMOL. I can't stress this enough—you need to watch this drama!
Perfect Marriage Revenge- OMG, this title is just too much! I couldn't even pretend to take it seriously. It's meant to be a serious revenge tale, but the over-the-top performances turned this melodrama into a full-blown comedy. If you're in a drama rut, this is your golden ticket! It's so absurdly entertaining that I devoured every second of it. Plus, the male lead is a total snack, so there's that. And let's not forget the wicked stepmom and her equally wicked stepdaughter—they're probably the best duo I've seen in ages! They nailed the crazy act so well that I couldn't even bring myself to dislike them. Honestly, I know everyone raves about "Marry My Husband", but for me, this was the standout of the year when all those revenge dramas were dropping. This one stole my heart! I needed a good laugh, so take my word for it—this is the drama you need!
Secret Love Affair - Oh my goodness, I am completely losing it right now that this is on your PTW list! It's incredibly rare to find anyone interested in this series, mainly because they quickly dismiss it as merely a love affair. Let me clarify, if that's what's preventing you from watching, please reconsider. This series is so much richer than what people claim. The music is breathtaking, and the emotional depth is crafted with such skill, especially with the political mind games at play throughout the series. If you examine the male lead and female lead, you'll discover how intricate their every thought and action is, especially our female lead. The writers truly did an amazing job crafting such an emotionally damaged but strong individual. She's such an interesting morally gray character, and I think our male lead is almost as interesting as her in the way that he reacts to her in the situations happening in his life and hers. If you're looking for a serious drama, I assure you, this one is beyond words in terms of its masterful writing and performances. I have never felt so emotionally exposed and astounded by a series as I did when I first experienced this one. I can't rave about it enough! It's one of those series you wish you could go back and experience it for the first time all over again. It's one of my all-time favorite dramas. I get criticized for saying this in the comments, but I will advocate for it every-time!
I'm chuckling at the moment because while I was browsing your list, I thought, wow, I've really made a significant dent on her list! Then I glanced at the percentage, and it read 3%. I was like, well, that's something, lmao!

Are you inquiring about my RR PTW list or my general PTW list? I actually have a few lists that I have separated by country, which helps me locate a title when I'm looking to watch something new.
I second Bound by Sin. It was outstanding.potatocouch:
• Lesson in Love (Warning: Be mindful of the fact that it's a teacher x student pairing)
• Love Scout (Mild mutual dislike to lovers)
• Forever Love
thank you so much !!
Doesn't quite fit your req, but might work anyway?: Hyenapotatocouch:
FL and ML are both lawyers, and FL gets into a relationship with ML just to gather information that would beat him in court. He's heartbroken, and the love he had for her turns into hate So, the drama is uniquely "lovers to enemies to we wanna be lovers again". I will say it's not super romance heavy. The focus in on the FL and ML's rivalry/th
omg i love hyena. ive seen the whole thing twice. first on my own, and then i made my friend who is a law student, sit and watch it with me lol. it was frigging awesome and definitely fits my req
Hates, huh? Hmmmm...Arclei:
Bound by Sin - Very strong dislike, bordering on hate.
The Princess Royal - Love/hate situation. Turns to love pretty quickly. Kinda got the feeling he never truly hated her but not sure.
The Blue Whisper: Part 1 - Absolutely loathes her.
Qi Yue Bang Ding Hei Yue Guang - Hates her but pretends not to.
Hong Luan Yin - All but 1 ML hate her guts but fall for her quickly (TML falls the slowest and was the most RR and bbg imo <3)
Love Crossed - He dislikes her quite a bit (less RR than others)
Wake up to Fantasy - He's trying to kill her kinda hate (subs for this one seem to have vanished tho)
The Princess Decree - Also a love/hate situation. It's complicated and doesn't really reach true hate because they used to be lovers and he still has feelings for her + feels guilt (RR at first and a lot less so later)
Fu Ma Mei Tian Du Xiang He Li - Hate might be a bit much, but strong resentment and dislike.
Feng Ta and Forever Love - Dislike. (Feng Ta is RR only for half the drama)
Oh My General and The Romance of Tiger and Rose too but ik you watched them already.
That's all I got. Honestly, more than I was expecting... xD
that is a huge list. thank you so so so much. very important for the excrutiating weekend to go by. T_T yesss i have watched omg and trtr. theyre both great
thank you sm
it doesn't feel like ML is the only one with depth and complexity!Arclei:
WE LOVE TO SEE IT !
Japan doesn't have an impressive record when it comes to their FLs, especially in these crossdressing shows,Arclei:
Preach 100% agree! And every time , I think have we still not moved beyond this stereotype. I guess not, huh.
Princess Jellyfish - Eeeek !This totally reminds me that I need to catch up on this. I've binged the anime and devoured the manga, yet here I am, procrastinating like a champ. The anime left me hanging! It was a masterpiece, and then poof! No season two, just my shattered dreams. I distinctly remember dialing up my friend who sold me on this series, and I was like, 'How could you do this to me?!' I was so emotionally invested, and it just cut off like a bad haircut. Meanwhile, she was cackling like a hyena, totally unfazed. Our friendship is on thin ice, girl! You’ve betrayed me, and I didn’t sign up to share this misery with you! LMAO
You just described cdramas XDArclei:
Oh, come on! Not all C-dramas are like that! Sure, the fantasy ones, the political ones, the melodramas, and modern romance ones can be a bit much, but there are plenty that aren't like that at all! LOL!
Till the End of the Moon .... That cover doesn't even look appealing. Let me stop. haha
...Oh..... weeeeeell..... I hope you like it more than I didArclei:
But, but the trailer looks so promising...
if even entertainment starts becoming like this, I don't know how we'd survive,Arclei:
Sadly, we've already reached that point, and it doesn't do any good. I'm going to focus on Asian media , as every time I log onto this site, there's a fresh scandal featured on the homepage. I really wish there was an option to disable articles on this site because no matter how much I attempt to ignore the headlines, there are images right in the center of my screen, making it difficult to steer clear of them.
I may be showing my age, but I truly miss the times when there was minimal information available about any celebrity, TV show, or movie that was set to be released. It was all about the thrill and the anticipation that built up as you looked forward to it. These days, there's an overwhelming amount of information out there, making it difficult to genuinely invest your emotions in it. Just think about all those sea dramas that would premiere without you having any clue about them. Wait, C- dramas are a bad example, we already get no information on them. They take so long to come out or they're canceled. But you understand my point—oversaturation isn't helpful. Imagination can be a wonderful thing. Of course, it can sometimes lead to disappointment, but the journey is still enjoyable.
eally looking forward to a good puppy ML,Arclei:
I'm really looking forward to chatting about this with you. It's adorable. It's stunning. It's so touching. It's hilarious. It encompasses everything in between and beyond, and I absolutely love it.
why does 'enemies' = 'torture word-that-rhymes-with-corn"?Arclei:
Meanwhile, your girls over here like can I get some butter for that corn? I love to watch a dumpster fire! LOL
still don't know MDL's take on swearing,Arclei:
My friend, that's the reason we have the spoiler button—feel free to express all the cursive words you like and simply conceal them behind a wall :P
I think it's because he's so ridiculously tallArclei:
I didn't realize he was 6'3 O.o But yeah, it's hard for people to see a tall man as vulnerable or needing protection.
Which sure, valid, but he looks so cute and dorky to me, so I don't get the type-casting.Arclei:
That's how I feel about his face too! He looks "adorkable" to me. I don't find him intimidating until he's in costume, channeling his character, and peering through the screen with those sharp, lovely eyes. He's a talented actor, and tall bbgs exist, so it sucks that simply being tall keeps him away from RRs.
it's the same with Zhang Ling He. How can anyone cast him as a red flag when he's so puppy-coded is crazy to me (I may be biased, tho. I quite disliked ZLH until I watched The Princess Royal, lol)Arclei:
Ahem...excuse me because I'm totally normal about this, but:
ZHANG LING HE IS MY HUSBAND AND MY MUSE!!
Like, I can't draw, but if you told me to draw the perfect Chinese man it would be a stick figure with a mole on its nose becauseeeee GAWD is he beautiful!

This is me every time he's on any screen anywhere.
I've seen so many cute, adorable, beautiful, handsome, hot, sexy men in dramas across a span of decades, but something about Zhang Ling He really does it for me. I know this is a sentiment shared by many, but I just had to gush for a minute.
Now, with that said: I've never seen a more perfect face for RR than Ling He's. I need him in one in a way that's concerning. The day he appears in a RR is the day you'll get an automated message from me saying it was nice knowing you, but I am deceased. It'll also include the Zoom details for my funeral because ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!! But I'll never get that because he's tall 😭
I quite disliked ZLH until I watched The Princess Royal, lolArclei:
GASP. How could you dislike my baby boi?? I'd never even seen his dramas, but I was enamored. I think it was love at first sight hahaha j/k (sort of). I just wish he was in the sort of dramas I enjoyed. I tried giving The Princess Royal a shot, and I stuck with it until the episode him and FL kissed at that festival?? It was relatively early on, but I was so bored and uninvested (despite ZLH's face) I dropped it. The Best Thing was better, and very cute, but it didn't alter my brain chemistry or anything. Now I've got Maiden Holmes lined up, but I'm not optimistic about it either.
TL;DR: I'm obsessed with ZLH, and the day he does a RR or even a noona romance where he's a little bit subby will be the day I can die happy.
Everyone wants the aloof badboy ML, but no one can actually portray that character because all these boys are theatre kids xDDArclei:
This is what all these MLs look like to me. Like, oh yeah, quivering in my boots rn. Really selling me the dommy daddy core.... psspspspspsps
I'm gonna need you to either get out of my head or start paying rent because we have a lot of the same takes. Very few of these actors are pulling off 'intimidating bad boy'. As much as I love Sui Ge from Fated Hearts, I'd boop him on the nose if he were real because of Chen Zhe Yuan's complete and utter BABY FACE.
(The picture of the cute kitty sent me because what it represents is so true).
Just so you know, I was purely speculating with this one since I saw the noona tag. I haven't actually watched it so don't take it as a recc from me!! But if you do end up checking it out... let me know :PArclei:
Ahhhh...gotcha. No problem.
I sail the high seas anyway, so no cents going into them pocketsArclei:
Same lol. It's hard for me to give my hard-earned money to people who are quite possibly morally bankrupt. I know I can't 100% guard against it, but I try my best.
I think you'll enjoy the drama, but keep in mind that as always, the ML will start initiating stuff toward the middle/end. But the mental health rep and the mystery are so good, you'll stay for them.
OOP- So people were LYING to me!!!!Arclei:
Bahahaha!! What—did they tell you the RR was out of this world or something? Yeah, right.
At least you kinda knew they were exaggerating.
I could go on forever about this cuz it's a huge pet peeve of mine!! It's giving blank paper x poetry, which is not a ship I vibe with at all, regardless of gender.Arclei:
I feel you, but sadly, most of the audience is gonna hate the FL anyway (unless they're heavy into RR, and even then they still might be biased). People will cry about wanting interesting, nuanced FLs, and then hate them immediately XD It's a lose/lose situation. We're getting a tiny bit better as a society if the (somewhat) split response to Dear X's FL is anything to go by. Just ten years ago, everyone would've hated her, and screenwriters would wait another twenty years before attempting to write a similar character. But that's only one drama, meanwhile we've got Patrick Bateman, Walter White, Dexter Morgan, Eren Yeager, Light Yagami, the rapist from Alice in Borderland, and even the Joker as popular, well-liked figures in media. There's definitely more progress to be made.
It's why I'm really enjoying Colorful Love cuz FL is actually very genuine, nice, and relatable.Arclei:
That's awesome!
I think the drama goes more in-depth into the current politics and lives within the harem that the movie only briefly brushed upon, so I've been wanting to check it out, but I think I'll have to watch the anime and read the manga first ;-;Arclei:
Oh, wait, I misunderstood something. There's an Ooku live action? I thought you snuck the anime on the list. That's what I was talking about hahaha. I watched a few eps of the anime when it was released on Netflix. I didn't realize they'd done a drama already. That's cool! Let me know how it is. You know I'm still wary of Matriarchy dramas.
You're the main reason for this! xDArclei:
🥺♥️♥️♥️ I'll understand even if you drop it at the end. I just want you to see the first 70% of the drama where the ML is super timid and shy, and the FL is his warrior princess. The ML is soooo adorable and his micro-expressions of anxiety, uncertainty, and awe are so freaking good! I rarely see subtle acting that good.
It's so lively here! <3Arclei:
Frankly, I'm having a blast! ^.^
potatocouch:
Omg...with the way the convo is flowing we need some sort of chat. Does the club have a Discord or something? I'm willing to re-download it if there is lol.
there are 4-5 discords based on the RR subreddit and femdom. but they barely have anything to do with asian dramas and movies. most of the members arent even into these. and have watched a handful famous ones like weightlifting fairy or its okay not to be okay.
my votes on making a separate discord server while keeping equal tabs with MDL forum!!!
if yall make one, ill deffo join
Does the club have a Discordpotatocouch:
I'm not sure how to navigate that website. I downloaded it once and tried to understand it, but I felt completely lost. It resembles Slack, and during Covid, I was using it for work chats. I was utterly confused. I thought, could we just stick to WhatsApp? Haha, I know, my thinking is still stuck in the MySpace days. Things were much simpler back then. Anyway, putting that aside, I feel that if we switch to another platform, we might struggle to gain any traction here. I believe the reason we attract new members is that they notice the ongoing conversations.
Speaking of which, I was working on a side quest for the RR club where we could chat about any dramas or topics unrelated to RR, but there's a catch: you have to be an RR member to join that side quest. I got halfway through writing it, but I got swamped with other work commitments throughout the year. I might actually try to get that up and running this year so we can have another space to chat without being too restricted on topics. Not that this place is limiting, but we do want to stay somewhat on topic.
Anyway, I'll be working on that, and I might continue writing some stuff tomorrow. Oh right, your new here, so you're not familiar with that side quest I was creating last year with Arclei. Would you like to see part of the draft we made? I can send it in a DM. I might adjust it a bit so that we can talk about any of our hobbies, not just dramas. I think that would be a lot more enjoyable, but let me know what you think if you're interested.
Tbh... I think we might be sharing a braincell @potato cuz I was thinking the exact same thing earlier today, but I know people have reservations about Discord...
It would be quite nice to have dedicated channels for image/gif sharing (without having to rely on imgur or postimg), discussion, updates, and the sort... Also off-topic stuff... for buddy watches too. I have experience making and running Discord servers, so it shouldn't be a problem-
Let me sleep on it and think about it when it's not 4 am xD I'll answer the other msgs tomorrow <3
I am totally obsessed with the whole enemies to lovers and lovers to enemies trope.Simi_Tutu:
I'm convinced me, Arclei, and one other person I've met are the only people in the entire world that don't necessarily like enemies to lovers LOL. We are three 🦄s.
Outside of the RR space, I'm very wary of it because 99.9% of the time it's thinly veiled "bully x victim" (with the man almost exclusively bullying the woman) or it's flat out "enemies to lusters", meaning they're enemies that are simply physically attracted to one another, which leads to some kind of physical intimacy (usually just a kiss in C-dramas) then a "love" without much emotional intimacy beyond the cliche "My dad was soooo mean."
I guess we're on opposite sides of the spectrum (which is okay, and even leads to interesting discussions like this) because I'm very much a friends to lovers girlie when I'm not watching RR. Bad writing is bad writing, but I think what makes friends to lovers amazing is witnessing the emotional intimacy that was built during the friendship exploding when caught against the match of romance. I also like seeing how the characters use their prior knowledge of one another when the relationship becomes romantic.
we still have the male lead to swoon over. Let’s be real, most of the time, it’s the female lead that the writers totally drop the ball on.Simi_Tutu:
I don't know...XD I find a lot of MLs insufferable and not well written either. A lot of writers think "tragic past" automatically means they have an interesting, 3-dimensional ML, and it doesn't. If anything it often makes them more cliche. Either that, or they'll just be like, "Hey, this guy is the smartest guy in the whole school" and that's it.
***
I will say this though: in 2025 I realized I didn't dislike enemies to lovers as much as I thought. I'm open to it with the right execution. If I'm watching an enemies to lovers, I want to see two formidable opponents going back and forth, not someone powerful vs someone noticeably weaker or "inferior" in every way. If it's a drama where there's a power system, I want the enemies to be relatively evenly matched. If it's a realistic setting and the man is physically stronger, I want the woman to be smarter or more ruthless. Not just as smart or as ruthless—SMARTER. More ruthless. A lot of realistic enemies to lovers are afraid to do that. They'll make the FL smart, but they're always careful to not make her smarter than the ML.
I also want to alternating "wins and losses". If the ML wins one battle (whether physical or wit-based) then I want the FL to win the next one...etc.
I compare it to boxing. If I was into boxing, I wouldn't want to watch some huge, super talented boxer fight a lightweight. It wouldn't be an interesting fight. It'd be over quickly or you'd just watch the lightweight get pummeled mercilessly. I'd much rather watch boxing with two people in the same weight class of equal talent. It's more exciting, and you don't know who's going to "win".
I became obsessed with Fated Hearts because it's the only C-drama where the leads are closely matched even with FL's amnesia. They hurt each other, become begrudging allies and then lovers. He rescues her, she rescues him. She goes to him when he knows more about something and he comes to her when she knows more about something. He's protective; she's protective. It's pretty much perfect.
The Folk of the Air series by Holly Black is the enemies to lovers book equivalent of Fated Hearts for me. I loved it because I was reading two incredibly shrewd, ruthless people go back and forth.
Japan doesn't have an impressive record when it comes to their FLs,Arclei:
The reason I've been off them for a while 😅
The one you're watching sounds really nuanced though. I'm gonna throw it on my watchlist (which has exploded since I've joined this group).
I also think FL might have PMDD, and this is the only time I've seen this mentioned in media everArclei:
PMDD mentioned on screen???!!! As in, the screenwriter actually knew what it was?! Pics or it didn't happen LOL. I don't even believe you.
....Oh..... weeeeeell..... I hope you like it more than I didArclei:
Bahahaha! You better stop!! XD
I really do wanna watch it 'cause it's like an RR classic and people say it's so good, so I wanna at least check it out!Arclei:
I need episode by episode reviews while you watch it!
If I watch it, I'll let you know how strong the bullying is.Arclei:
I'm just gonna go ahead and let both of you know the bullying is disturbing. And this is coming from someone that watches dramas with bullying themes and gets angry, but doesn't flinch. I flinched during The Glory. So prepare yourselves 😬 The bullying methods were something done to a girl in real life too.
All of that just makes FL's revenge sweeter.
Like, why does 'enemies' = 'torture word-that-rhymes-with-corn"?Arclei:
Ma'am, you need to start paying rent.
it felt like she was just using his kindness for free haircuts.Simi_Tutu:
I'm sorry...something about this is soooo funny! Hahahaha! Are the haircuts good?
Perfect Marriage RevengeSimi_Tutu:
I second everything you said!!! This was such a fun makjang drama! I watched it with my mom and we were cackling! The leads also have good chemistry despite the silliness of, well, everything else.
It's honestly like a vertical with a big budget. And it was much better than Marry My Husband! As a fan of the webtoon, I was so disappointed by the adaptation. They didn't even try.
Secret Love AffairSimi_Tutu:
Fantastic drama! Truly underrated. It's dense and slow-paced like a decadent pudding. But not many people are willing to savor a drama. And Secret Love Affair is meant to be savored.
The ending hurt my feelings, but I can't even be mad because it made sense.
omg i love hyena. ive seen the whole thing twice. first on my own, and then i made my friend who is a law student, sit and watch it with me lol. it was frigging awesome and definitely fits my reqree0:

So, I've never seen Princess Jellyfish, but all this femboy talk has made me remember for a little while when I was younger, I was obsessed with W Juliet. It's basically RR Hana Kimi where a boy dresses up as a girl and transfers to a new school, and falls in love with a tomboy. They both want to become actors one day, and are starring in a Romeo and Juliet play at their school where she's Romeo and he's Juliet. I remember it being super cute, but that's it:

Have you guys heard of it? I wanted it to become an anime, but it never got picked up by a studio :-/
my votes on making a separate discord server while keeping equal tabs with MDL forum!!!ree0:
I'd be down for that!
Simi_Tutu:
I wouldn't mind that either. I'm currently in a WhatsApp chat for vertical dramas, so why not? I'd be okay with whatever everyone else wants to do.
Would you like to see part of the draft we made? I can send it in a DM.Simi_Tutu:
Yeah, send it on over!
Tbh... I think we might be sharing a braincell @potato cuz I was thinking the exact same thing earlierArclei:
All I'm gonna do is keep yelling for my rent money
Also off-topic stuff... for buddy watches too.Arclei:
That would be perfect! I think you brought up Discord in our messages, but I don't know if I remembered to respond to it XD Sowwy. I had a Discord back in the day, but got rid of it. I'd re-download it again though.
Are the haircuts good?potatocouch:
Oh, absolutely not! She gets the same boring haircut every single time. He just gives her a trim and then treats her to what feels like a 10-minute hair wash, where they stare into each other's eyes for an eternity. And yet, it takes them nearly the entire drama to finally admit their feelings! Not to mention those cringe-worthy flashbacks to their childhood. You see this adorable chubby little boy totally crushing on his older babysitter—whatever she was to him, I can't even remember. If their parents were acquainted? Who knows! All I know is he was probably in middle school while she was already a freshman in high school, with a boyfriend. So, we get these flashback scenes where he gazes at her like she's the sun, and she just sees him as her little kid brother. Oh, and her boyfriend gets jealous of the little version of the ML ALL THE TIME LIKE HOW OLD ARE YOU? ! And here's where the drama really lost me: when she grows up, she's completely oblivious to his feelings, yet she runs a dating company, setting people up for their 'happily ever after.' Yeah, that totally makes sense!??? LOL.
I watched it with my mom and we were cackling!potatocouch:
I would have paid a fortune to witness ! Sounds like my kind of party. I would have been laughing along with you , and let me tell you, my laughs are not exactly whispers. They're so loud that I sometimes give myself a fright with how boisterous I can get. Haha
And Secret Love Affair is meant to be savored.potatocouch:
The ending hurt my feelings
Absolutely! These are the kinds of dramas that end up in the secret jem stash because, let’s face it, folks have the attention span of a goldfish. They totally miss out on some stellar writing, which is a real bummer. People usually gravitate towards dramas that follow the same old formula and are as deep as a puddle, while the ones with characters that require a PhD in deciphering their every word and action are often the ones that get the cold shoulder. But hey, that just means I get to enjoy them with a select few who are right there with me, savoring every moment without fretting over the negative reviews because, honestly, we just don’t care! LOL. P.S. Your description of a savory pudding is spot on for this drama. It’s a delightful mix of sweet and salty, taking you on a wild ride, and before you know it, it’s over way too soon!
~~~potatocouch:
Whoa, it's been ages since I laid eyes on this! I recall diving into it during my middle school days. I used to snag the books from Borders, but then they decided to close up shop, and I never got to wrap it up. For a moment, I thought it was the manga Forbidden Dance because the tan hues on the cover art looked somewhat similar.
