The songs are great for this drama but my most favorite is the instrumental they usually used (the one used for the first teaser and when Hwi rescued Ji Woon.
Maybe I should have watched the trailer, but I didn’t know the show would be this dark? And I love dark kdramas…
Are you referring to the death of the twin brother? I just think those are essential to move the plot forward.....I think this drama will have lighthearted moments but there could also be some deaths involved considering this is a historical drama
Judging by the comments there is not much romance in this? If i am more into romance driven plot i guess this…
The story is not finished, I feel like if they could film the next seasons, there will be more romance. The main OTP, Eunseom and Tanya, had never seen each other since episode 2
Kim Ga On is the assassin who tried to kill Hwi before? And it seems like Lee Hyun knows something about Hwi's…
I'm quite confused. Since he's a cousin, knowing Lee Hwi is female, does it mean that he must have at least an idea that something is not right (he knew the real crown prince when they were kids) or at least must have thought that an exchange must have happened? Then shouldn't he be at least curious where the real crown prince is? He must have an idea something is not right if he knew Lee Hwi is a girl.
Park Eun Bin is doing a really great job in this drama. I think she's almost as good in acting as a man like Moon Geun Young in Painter of the Wind. I hope she gets a baeksang nomination, though it's really gonna be tough to be nominated since many veteran actresses are acting this year (Go Hyun Jung, Son Ye Jin, Lee Young Ae, Jun Ji Hyun, Jeon Do Yeon, etc).
If I'm correct the characters here can be compared to the ones in Sungkyunkwan Scandal (for those who didn't know, three of the four main leads are played by Song Joong Ki, Yoo Ah In, and Park Min Young): Lee Hwi/Yeon Seon = Kim Yoon Shik/Kim Yoon Hee -> female lead in this drama that disguises as a male (taking their brother's identity. The reasons for each character doing it are different though. Jung Ji Woon = Lee Sun Joon -> smart man that falls in love with the female lead Lee Hyun = Gu Yong Ha/Moon Jae Shin -> Gu Yong Ha is the Sungkyunkwan character that I can't really compare with characters here, closest is Lee Hyun since he's an important male lead character that's not the male lead and also neither a warrior. Hyun can also be Jae Shin though since he seems to feelings for the female lead and I think his love will not be reciprocated Kim Ga On = Moon Jae Shin/Gu Yong Ha -> both Ga On and Jae Shin are warrior men that are important leads in the drama. Ga On can also be compared to Yong Ha since I feel that like Yong Ha, Ga On will not have a serious love interest for the female lead. Shin So Eun = Ha Hyo Eun -> both are important female characters not necessarily the female lead that has a crush on the male lead (or at least this is what I got from So Eun in episode 3). No Ha Kyung = Cho Sun -> both female characters that have a crush on the female lead Evil prince cousin here = Ha In Soo -> not sure yet, but I feel like Ha In Soo in Sungkyunkwan Scandal, the prince cousin here will be a great villain and hindrance to the female lead character. Real Lee Hwi = Real Kim Yoon Shik -> brothers of the female lead, female lead uses their identity.
you can watch Flower of Evil or The Princess's Man where the female lead in this drama is very intimate with another…
Cleared. In this drama though SJK has most kisses with MCW, he also has kiss scenes with Park Shi Yeon and another actress playing a minor character. Assuming you're a new SJK fan, I think I also suggest you watch Arthdal Chronicles. He played two characters there and although both his characters have loveline with Kim Ji Won, it's not as intimate here (and there are no kiss scenes there so you'll get jealous less). And although that drama is so underrated, he shows his best acting there (for me Arthdal is his best acting in all his works aside from Tree with Deep Roots). I've yet to see Vincenzo but it's on my watchlist and I'm also curious to see him with Jeon Yeo Been since it's so popular.

Yup, I understand, that's why I suggested you watch the other shows of the female lead here so it helps you since she's also intimate with the actors on the dramas I mentioned aside from SJK.
The last saeguk with gender bender element I've watched was The Painter of The Wind and I have to say it bears…
I love that drama. I’m watching Lovers of the Red Sky because its director is the one who did Painter of the Wind (aside from Kim Yoo Jung of course). I see some similarities between Painter and this one, which is why I decided to watch this. Aside from the crossdressing aspect, this show has a potential for the female lead to have love interests from both genders, just like Painter
