Cleared. In this drama though SJK has most kisses with MCW, he also has kiss scenes with Park Shi Yeon and another actress playing a minor character. Assuming you're a new SJK fan, I think I also suggest you watch Arthdal Chronicles. He played two characters there and although both his characters have loveline with Kim Ji Won, it's not as intimate here (and there are no kiss scenes there so you'll get jealous less). And although that drama is so underrated, he shows his best acting there (for me Arthdal is his best acting in all his works aside from Tree with Deep Roots). I've yet to see Vincenzo but it's on my watchlist and I'm also curious to see him with Jeon Yeo Been since it's so popular.

Yup, I understand, that's why I suggested you watch the other shows of the female lead here so it helps you since she's also intimate with the actors on the dramas I mentioned aside from SJK.
The last saeguk with gender bender element I've watched was The Painter of The Wind and I have to say it bears…
I love that drama. I’m watching Lovers of the Red Sky because its director is the one who did Painter of the Wind (aside from Kim Yoo Jung of course). I see some similarities between Painter and this one, which is why I decided to watch this. Aside from the crossdressing aspect, this show has a potential for the female lead to have love interests from both genders, just like Painter
This drama could have been perfect if it wasnt for the FL. Wished they made her audition for it and did not just…
Totally agree. I'm not the biggest fan of this drama but having an adult female lead that acts better could have made this drama a bit better. I made a list somewhere here of alternative actresses they could have considered for the adult female lead during the time this drama was made.
I did give this drama a 6.5 since some parts of the drama doesn't make sense. However in a way, this drama didn't bore me. I like the interactions of the characters.
I still have difficulty comprehending why it is a concern for them to be born as twins. Exactly how does it affect…
I’m not sure about this drama yet, but in Queen Seon Deok it was a bad omen to have twins since it meant no more boys will be born to the queen after. Let’s just say people in historical times are a bit more superstitious
If they don't give power to a girl, or make things in her favour, and always letting the enemy win. I am not gonna…
I suggest Jumong or Six Flying dragons for kdramas with a lot of battles. I havent fully seen 6 Flying dragons yet, but that one has many battles. There's a lot of swordfighting from what I read in the reviews plus politics there is interesting since it was set during the transition from Goryeo to Joseon Dynasty. I'm still not yet sure with this drama, but with the cast (the young adult leads) they got here, you usually dont expect a sageuk with many battles with this kind of cast, a cast like ths usually are leads in romance sageuks. The thing with this show is it's quite intriguing to have a female lead pretend to be a male crown prince since in Joseon dynasty, only a man can become king. Though we may not fully agree with historical people, we should also at least try to understand why these people would try to dress up a girl as a man. Power is at stake (I mean the crown prince position is very important, losing one can have great implications). We might have to see more of this drama before we can judge it.
I am happy about one thing that this drama did not take the cross dressing route. Usually in most of the historical…
To be fair, the cross dressing aspect is necessary for the other drama (King's Affection). I think that drama is fictional but the drama is set in Joseon. In Joseon Dynasty (unlike other Dynasties such as Silla or Goryeo where women had been ruling monarchs), only men can become monarchs.
Child actress Choi Myung Bin is amazing. It's hard enough to play an actual boy as a girl, also hard to play a girl disguising as a boy, also hard to play a boy disguising as a girl, also hard to play double roles. Yet she nailed all the requirements of her role. Good luck to her future career.
Wondering if it will have a good ending? 🤔🤔🤔When the time she will knew that the one who killed her twin…
We can still expect a happy ending even if Ji Woon's father is actually his father. A lot of sageuks in the past have a villain as parents of one character, yet the two leads still got together in the end.
As a kdrama watcher whose first kdramas are historical dramas from the 2000s, it's really nice to see Bae Soo Bin and Park Eun Hye (Rowoon's parents) here. Bae Soo Bin was a villain in Emperor of the Sea, a gay man in Jumong, King in Painter of the Wind, and Dong Yi's one sided lover in Dong Yi. Park Eun Hye was Jang Geum's best friend in Jewel in the Palace as well as the titular role's actual wife (Han Ji Min's role is a concubine) in Yi San.
She's an amazing actress. It's hard to nail a double, hard to nail a male disguising a female role, but she did both requirements so well. Plus she also did a male role while wearing girl's clothes and was somehow able to portray it differently from the actual girl in females clothes. Amazing! I'm glad to discover her from King's affection
I'm going to watch it as it runs, drama is really interesting (I dont want to miss watching this as I have a long watchlist). Excited to see Park Eun Bin in a lead role plus Bae Soo Bin and Park Eun Hye from my childhood historical dramas.
