She put in a lot of work and brought the character to life beyond the lines. The complexity of the character was truly showcased by the actress. I hope the work did not affect her mental health eventually. It is a bit concerning the level at which she was immersed in the role.
I don't know much about Artists unfortunately but you just may be right. He may have been depicting something of the sort. I know it gets tiring to see how bitter SFL was but if you watch the story from her perspective, she would ideally be the FL who loved someone she thought was the one for her, promised to be married, just to have him besotted to, and stolen by her so-called closest friend, and worse off they both never truly felt apologetic. In a normal setting she would be the FL we sympathise with. Dude was truly heartless.
There was no stong reason lol. Boredom? Recklessness? A taste for false freedom?
I am totally with you in all you wrote. Many don't objectively notice that just because she is the FL doesn't make her particularly likable. 3 years of consistent dublicity is really a long time. It shows that it wasn't just a silly mistake. If she wasn't the FL, she really will be those trashlike and super villainous homewrecking side characters that leave a bad taste in viewers mouths. The only thing i feel she did right while we watched her was to use all her willpower to not make the same mistakes as she still had a whole disaster to clean up and shove under the rug lol. The same could not be said for the young ML. Dude already lost his mind a long time ago before we met him. Did you realise that although she ruined the SFL's life and character development she was never truly apologetic? She never even had an inkling to apologise till all hell really broke loose. Anyways, good writing for sure.
The rating is most likely like this because it deals with adultery. I have noticed this in several shows, and…
I agree. It really had its own vibe. I feel it has done this genre in the best way showing just how despicable disloyalty is. I like how they showed the effect on the daughter. It brought it to reality. It is kind of an acquired taste kind of genre for sure. The knee-jerk reaction is first distaste for the adulterous characters and storyline.
This drama was one of the best I ever saw and one of the most unique plots made. Such elegant and outstanding…
The rating is most likely like this because it deals with adultery. I have noticed this in several shows, and I am guilty of finding adultery type shows and premise distasteful despite how intriguing all other aspects may seem. I enjoyed the wildness of this but even I gave it an 8 though i normally give out 8.5s...Not sure how to explain but that must be the reason. What do you think?
If the word 'ruinous' needed a photo beside it, the young ML can be used to describe it. The dude was recklessly set to wreak disaster with his choices. He saw no point in rules, lines, devotion, commitement...no respect for institutions marital or otherwise...Then If 'bitter' needed a picture beside it, the SFL would fit perfectly there lol. Everyone was obsessive and lost their minds long before we noticed.
They did a great job with all they had to work with. I don't think I have ever seen any other actress act blind so well as this FL did. She seemed believably blind. I wonder how long it took her to become an expert in the many subtleties. These main leads really fit well on screen. They elevate the quality of the story with their natural onscreen chemistry. In fact, I can see their professionalism as actors even towards a likely lower budget, and also short series. I personally liked it.
Not a single sane person in sight lol. All crazy. They are all obsessive and have all lost their minds. Mayhem indeed. FL was really not the best at all. Her only redeeming factor was trying hard not to make even more disastrous mistakes. The ML did an excellent job of portraying obsession to the level of 'if i can't have you, no one can'. He honestly didn't care at all about marriage and commitment. The best part was getting to see the home wrecker story from a male perspective. He said all the nasty lines the female home wreckers say...however, whatever gender it is, home-wrecking is a terrible thing. Got me seeing how nasty cheating from the woman's perspective in marriage gets. Particularly how nasty it is when children are in the picture.
This is one of those long dramas that had highly mature themes. All characters had morals either in the gutter or very close to the gutter. The themes may be difficult to completely stomach for a lot of people i feel. There just wasn't any character you would say was ethical or generically reasonable.
Incredible performance in the real has come! His acting style reminds me of Lee Jae Wook's style particularly in Extraordinary You. The same way Lee Jae Wook's antagonistic presence and brilliant acting elevated the entire work which was by itself not so grand, Jung Eui Jae's acting in the real has come is also just as enigmatic. Definitely looking forward to his future dramas.
