I get why it might feel slow or not compelling for some people, but I don’t think it’s fair to say it’s…
Good for you! but ok maybe share that to someone who cared/cares about this drama. Write a comment or a review about it. I Don’t understand the point of this exhange. I didn’t like the drama, I don’t care about
it. I already made it clear, what makes people believe that when someone says he/her dislikes something that a full on boring discussion about a boring drama is
the way to go. Is it so hard to accept that a drama someone likes others dislike it and just live with it? I already lost 14 hours of life watching that bad drama; I don’t want to loose another hour discussing about
it. So hard pass. Good day!

On I Really Really Like You Jul 24, 2026
I thought I had never seen it before but after like 4 episodes in I remembered seeing it on my local tv fully dubbed way back then.
It was overall a nice oldie even thought it was unbalanced and uneven but often it was make the charm of the older dramas.
The drama felt like it had an extension for 14 more episodes ; after episode 20, something felt different, some bad characters arrived (Lee HanSuk and her two daughters, the hairdresser, 2 nasty cooks, the snicky reporter) and we lost Youn Yuhjung.
Saying I hated the new characters was an understatement. If I could have fast forward any scene with Lee HanSuk I would have. Her back story wasn’t compelling in my eyes. The male lead father, the President became also way less important characters. The beginning wasstronger, funnier than the end which was also pretty draggy. After episode 20 we had all the tropes that I hate: overbearing family, work harassment, unrequited love…I hated the nutritionist character, I was happy that they did not made of her a nemesis but I was disgusted by her entertaining a relationship with that poor photographer. I have a hard time to understand women that can literally prostitute themselves because a man has a little of money. But it easy to say that from my European country with my job and the ownership of my place…i hate the female chef that sabotaged Bong-soon and was never fired. I don’t understand that kind of message but we are used with kdramas to see awful characters no paying the consequences of their disgusting behavior and even getting forget without sincere apologies. I wished Eugene’s character had more growth here, she started as a clumsy a little dumb country bumpkin and stayed pretty much like that until the end. I felt it wasn’t normal that Lee Min Kim’s character had way more growth than her when we were on a classic trope country girl goes to down to discover her origins and herself. I thought also they dragged way too long her love interest for the third guy even after knowing his secret, after she revealed her secret…that made her love journey less believable.
This 2005 drama on several aspects aged pretty well. This is way more watchable than Boys over flower for example. Either way I like seeing actors of my generation in the old dramas, so yeah kudos to Eugene for maintaining that accent that long and for the beautiful pansories.

I disagree that it’s a character driven drama and about a solid acting. The characters are quite one dimensional and I didn’t see any good acting skills. The reincarnation trope is very tedious and largely overused in kdramas (and Cdramas too).
By the way I said Kim Young Dae’s fans AND fantasy addicts.
I am none of that and I confirm my first comment it’s a minor drama that nobody speaks about because it has nothing memorable and even here where people tend to give very high rates to anything with a cute man
the drama rate below usual.

The Rational Life was a decent Cdrama so I am pretty confident that a shorter Korean adaptation has some potential. Already having Go Soo in this kind of drama is something. I am happy to see Joo Hyun Young as the best friend, she is so good and has such great comic sense. I believe the awful mother gonna be played by Park Min young’s usual tv mom: Kim Mi-kyung…I have seen a few days post highlighting how many times they played together with new pictures so it must be this drama…the mother from Something in the rain Gil Hae-yeon would have been great too as is he is the doppelgänger of the Chinese actress and the part is right in her alley 🤣🤣🤣
Good or bad….There is Park Min Young of course I am gonna watch, have to give it a try it’s my duty

Does in korea school pupils care about other pupils parents so much? To bully...When i was at school nobody knew…
Yess they do. Social status plays a huge part everywhere is Korea.
Even at work they ask about the patent’s background

She sings also lullabies to 30-year old man to help him sleep 😬

Why are you all so obsessed with Netflix? Kocowa+ is much better, it focus on Korean culture but Netflix westernized…
Woman just do you! You don’t seem to know what you are talking about or you are the kind of people who judge situation based upon what works in your country.
By the way if you cannot graps why a provider doesn’t have success in a region just shut up!

Why are you all so obsessed with Netflix? Kocowa+ is much better, it focus on Korean culture but Netflix westernized…
First: In my country Kocowa+ is only available on computer it is not on tv via Prime or other platforms.
I much prefer the experience on tv than on computer. In my region Kocowa+ isn’t very popular and people watch kdramas on Viki, Netflix, Prime or Disney+.
Secondly: being interested about contract between platforms and Korean production is not an « obsession ». Some people are interested in actors, others on romance or whatever idleness I have studied media economics so I am interested by those deals!!!

Why Netflix isn’t listed too?
Maybe Netflix has decided to stop with 50-episode -family drama after the last one Our golden days or they gonna aire with 2 weeks delay like last year? I have been waiting for this one and I might end up watching it online
Still it’s very surprising several bloggers online last June confirmed my prevision that it would be a Netflix pick. I strongly believe that KBS includes one family drama per year on that contract (Golden life, Homemade Love story, Young lady and gentleman, Once Again, The real has came, the beauty and mr. romantic, Iron Family, Revolutionary sisters, Our Golden Days…)

You mean turning 180
I use turn 90 or 180 to highlight an abrupt change, here I want to say she made a complete turnaround. Episode 6 ended with her saying she did not mind his past and the things he worried about before starting a new relationship. And now she cannot manage his ex who is remarried…it does not make sense to me.

On See You at Work Tomorrow! Jul 15, 2026
They did so well on episode 7 by portraying an adult relationship and not those eternal childish things where people are 35 and have never seen another human being naked, get all worked up like a 15 year old, believe a relationship is eating ramen on a bench like a homeless person and drinking tone of coffee …and then episode 8 they ruined everything with a lead female that makes a fuss over spilled milk. Turning 360 for something that little is so immature especially when she is herself spending time with her awful ex. Come on do the math instead of tantrum like babies

A few things did not aged very well like:
- the relationship with the fee he almost rapped her and treated like an enfant…she had an heart transplant she is not incapacitated good gracious. But it was 2003 and we all know what awful scenes in media were perceived as normal back then.
- their incapacity to express what they want clearly and loudly like a real adults and go with the most powerful persons or older person wants
- around episode 16-18 it was a bit repetitive and long.
Other than that it’s a classic. Saw it way back then and was so happy to watch it again. One of those dramas that have inspired so many after. The music is divine. The 2 leads were beautiful (still are). For anyone learning Korean in those all drama they speak way more slowly and distinctively so very easy to understand. Definitely a most watch

After looking for it for months, I finally managed to find a copy in Korean. The Korean subtitles helped but I hope to watch it again with English subtitles too, to make sure I understood everything.
Compelling, modern and sweet story

On Man Who Sets the Table Jul 11, 2026
Title Man Who Sets the Table Spoiler
There are many things that are wrong to me here.

Don’t get fooled by the cast and the number of episodes.
This is not really family drama it’s more a makjang where the 100 episodes are going in pair to make 50. We have all the codes of this genre that are gathered: overbearing music, exaggerated dramas, slaps, fake crying, attempts murder, pretend dead coming back to life, secret origins…
Actors that are listed are main characters here aren’t and Kim Soo Mi listed as support is in every episodes and one of the main roles without a doubt.
- I hated that the 2 husbands that were abusive, violent and harassing with their wives had some magic redemption without doing real work and giving real sincere apologies. When you know the number of women that die every day murdered by their husbands it just made me wanna vomit. They went too far with the badmouthing and the violence to make it acceptable at the end. it felt very misogynistic to not let that poor mother getting rid of her ugly husband just because once he bring her kimbap…are you kidding me! In term of acting their disputes were really well played and I wished they had one heartfelt scene like in Marriages when the third couple decided to break up they had nearly a full episodes dedicated to that conversation and it was well written raw and sincere.
- many characters and plots were inconsistent, the brother that did not like his wife and was by the way awful too wirh his sister and mother, suddently is someone's else. Go jung do starts the drama as the perfect man of the show, good husband good subtitute father figure and suddenly is an asshole and disappear of the drama easily 12 episides before the end…like the rest of his famiky (Song Kang included)
Sorry they have 2 stupid 20 s scene on episode 50 just for us to remember they did not die.
- I hated the several vilains that wer way over the top, pure makjang style that should have get arrested right at the beginning but you have to suffer them right to the end. Here one of the vilain disappear but he replaced by another one.
- main couple starts very strong and then so bland are their story is too focused on the business drama. So their relation is not very compelling after 15 episodes.
- it looking like the scenario has been written by 2 different persons the beginning is so different from the second half. Maybe the author had a stoke…
- the attraction for me is the mother-daughter duo Kim Soo Mi and real life step-daughter Seo Hyo Rim they were adorable they carry the show with Kim Gab Soo. They bring so much humor and their chemistry was so visible. I felt sad for Ohn Joo Wan and Choi Soo Young they are clearly bland next to scene stealers and more strong actors.
- I liked the mother Kim Mi Sook and only regret that she stayed and that sad marriage, the drama opened with her request for a separation but she stayed way too long and caved at the end…
For the makjang style that I personally don’t like it felt correct had they had 4 string actors.
