They went to a wedding … left and it was bright and sunny …. It this a normal occurrence? 😂
Koreans go to wedding during theirs lunch breaks: 30-minute ceremonies, you give money- you get an hotel lunch buffet and it’s over, no party, no dance…we discussed about that with my Korean teacher. It’s very boring, he said he is so unhappy to spend so much on gift/wedding donation for so short events.

This drama makes me feel so dumb and humble …the pace isn’t crazy, there isn’t that much characters but I have absolutely no idea after 7 episodes what’s going on, who is who, what are their motives, who is dead who is alive. But I keep watching 🤣🤣🤣
Did someone swapped my brain while I was sleeping?

I agree on many aspects. You might be North American or English, in many countries even in Europe people don’t…
Never mentioned difference of standard between men and women. He would have done the same audience would have raised even more concerns. Again you go on casual dating/vs dating which doesn’t exist in most countries. It’s s a very American thing. So what might look normal to you or clear and the way to proceed isn’t for others. In most place people don’t do that. American way isn’t the international standard.

I don't think he wanna be stuck playing villains all the time. I think he would be well suited for a ml in a thriller/action/dark.…
Hi. When I said the good guy I was thinking about personality of the character portrayed not only the good guy in romance genre. He might not want to be on that category but there are many villain parts in KDramas so I think it still gonna give him many opportunities.
You mentioned action, thriller …there are not type of roles but drama genre…there are also many villains in those. Koreans are making more and more dramas on a darker side too. Aside Dont’t dare to dream I truly don’t recall any drama where he played the nice one and he was recognized for it. There are dramas where he was on and I can even remember him clearly (The dark knight who guard me…)
Yes villains don’t have a huge fandom in Korea but have a more peaceful personal life (which is priceless) but one he is already like 40, he is more a supporting an actor than a lead. I don’t recall him being praised one of his soft part. He is a good guy in Squid game? I have seen it. There is also plenty of guys in his category who have more experience, more success and more recognition. At this age he might not get loads of romance, slight of slice offers to play the main guy.
For me he is clearly an actor that doesn’t know his strength and weaknesses and therefore cannot position himself correctly on the game. I might sound mean but actors are like product they have to make their SWOT.

Lol what's with the casting in this show. Han Jimin's characters mom looks the same age as her.
They regularly do dirty to a women between 40-55 making them act like mothers of actors that are so close in age
Backstreet rookie they slide several jokes in the drama about the age-gap (9 years)

why not romance?
He is not very engaging. He looks weird, uncomfortable to me and does not share most chemistry with his female partners. I feel also when he tries playing the good guy he lacks sparks and looks bored and sleepy. His kiss scenes look also dry to me and not sincere.
He is more passionate, expressive and lively when he plays villains

I really didn’t like the way the FL reacted to her mom when the dad came back to essentially force his way back…
I agree on many aspects. You might be North American or English, in many countries even in Europe people don’t date like in US and see several persons at the same time. Even though they had no agreement after their first encounter some people might have felt discomfort as normally if one wants to start a relationship or confess interest and the other to venture somewhere else you cut tie. You cannot expect someone to wait for you, only players keep someone on the back burner.
For Korea the dating they portrayed is for sure not the norm. Basically after 3 meetings they are a couple, after a month or two share
bank accounts, 100 days celebration…
For me the show would have been more balanced and funnier if both of them were still going on sogaetin (arranged meeting)

I disagree, the young guy wasn’t fit for the part for me. I felt like they confused being tall and having gravitas and authority. After watching this drama I wish Park Sung Hoon could have played that mean king. He was better fitted for the role especially next to a 35-year old woman.

On The Practical Guide to Love Apr 5, 2026
I was expecting fun, after seeing several trailers early this year but I had unfortunately zero fun watching this drama.
I was not convinced or charmed by anything.
The love story was so bland, the main characters very boring, overall story not very interesting. I didn’t like how the main character was portrayed as a woman.
I don’t think the writer had anything special to say about dating, love, romance in late 30s. Never felt one minute those two felt in love, they happen to cross paths and they were convenient to each other that all.
The subplots were weak and didn’t balance the main story line. Many characters were just there but fully useless. They forget to close the mean guy’s story as he played out such a part on her deciding to date, that choice was weird for me because they missed an interesting life lesson when the last episode was so shallow with an abundance of unnecessary flashbacks, out of blue last minute mediocre romances…Editing of that episode is blatant of a director who has nothing to say and try to fill as much possible with whatever he has just to maintain the 12-episode slot. The sudden romance at the park at the 11th hour was so useless and corny. The puppy romance at the factory, there were a few gazes on episodes 10-11 but not enough elements to make it believable or necessary.
Probably very unpopular opinion but Park Sung Hoon should stop right now trying to play good guys that is not for him, he always ends up looking weird, uncomfortable, just drowsy like droopy (Into the ring, Not others). Villains is his
calling (the Glory, Queen of tears…)
Don’t dare to dream seems so far away and he has definitely lost the spark he had back then.
This drama is going immediately on the pile of 2026 deceptions, I had too much expectations for this one!

Bon Appetite your Majesty, he was supposed to be the Prince and got fired just before filming as he post on social media a promotional picture but some crazy maniacs zoomed and saw him undressed on a reflection

I watched this in one sitting. It’s not a 10 but a solid 9.5 for me. I really enjoyed all the character developments…
Funny he never has customers, they could have invested on stunts it felt a bit empty though 😂

Title In Your Radiant Season Spoiler
Three last episodes of this drama were disappointing. I thought it would be a success for CHJ, but I don't think…
I agree the end wasn’t the best

I asked myself why he couldn't have just been honest from the beginning.... but I understand there would have…
I think this kind of lies is deeply rooted in Korean culture as they tend to avoid being confrontational, too direct, too eager. There are also a huge sense of shame and a fear of being uncomfortable or making someone else uncomfortable
Learning Korean you learn how to phrase sentences with all that in mind.
You can noticed in drama how much the word uncomfortable, shameful come and how they never go in length to express emotions.

I did like it. Slow pace, good acting, nice story, compelling…
Only drawback for me towards ep 9-11 quality is slightly lower
Overall I enjoyed it

He's the epitome of limited and bad acting .I agree with the dubbing issue but some Chinese actors are very good…
Yeah maybe a bit of entitlement, a shot of blindness by assuming their achievement is solely the result of their own merits, the desire to maintain status quo when everything is in their favour…I used to envy posh people when I was younger and realize simplicity can give serenity too.
Summer strike was a good watch to realign with
important values, to give a sens of purpose: it can be ok sometimes to scale things down.
Kdramas do capture well those out of
touch people
I wish Cdramas could also be more realistic and tackle some important topics. I did like Our generation because they did manage to sneak in excessive expectations put on kids, generational burden…

Interesting interview, I cannot guarantee to know what are the absolute qualities needed to be an excellent film director, but his approach was very good in terms of management/people leading. Experienced, talented team don’t want to be micromanaged and they need trust, room to express their skills.
Funny that you mentioned Petfect Match I made a post a few months back on the 5 Cdramas I liked in 2025 and said Perfect Match had a hint of Jane Austen…I started 2025 with it and it did greatly influenced me to try others, venture further more in current Cdramas.
I was drawn to kdramas by the aesthetic of Chunhyung, the film adaptation of the pansori and
the social depiction, the realistic struggle to make it, the
psychology hooked me. I have always been a big consumer of shows/movies, wanting even to manage fiction programming for TV at some point, but I grew bored of the US content with time. People acting like super-heros, giant ego, each time they want to convey it’s important they reference the world”….So now, here we are 😄
I can picture the people from work you are describing, I’ve been in England many time, even dressed like farmer there are a few signs to distinguish them (horse riding, hunting dog, tartan) …they must be hard to handle.

I was NEVER interested about discussing him. As mentioned x times the discussion is not about him.
I am not holding your age against you, I don’t know your age. as I know in many Asian countries people are fans even adults I am just telling in some places people aren’t fan anymore adult, fans have a tendency to defend their idols like army to the deep end.
That why some of us don’t feel the need to interact with fans.
