Some great points from everyone in this convo. I like @gmat's observation about Tangli being FL's contrasting fate. I agree with @Jules_Ader regarding ML's initial arrogance, it's still there in general but no longer towards FL. The less than perfect plan not only avoids "unwanted" attention from FL, but also continue with his own schedule, he has stuff to do! And yes, if everyone did everything perfectly then there'd be no drama 🤣🍿

I just heard of a real person called Jesse Livermore, a NY stock trader who came from poverty and became mega-rich but could never stay wealthy, flip flopping from the extremes until his suicide after his 5th bankruptcy.

Reminded me immediately of this drama. The ML is just driven by seeking the next thing, the next thing, it's a mindset, and it's not always solely about the money. The people around him want him to stop when the going is good, but he can't help it. He can't stop.

I don't remember the details of the plot. I just remember this character.
