Yeah it happens. Especially when I'm watching a Chinese drama ( since I'm studying Chinese) I tend to raise an…
Same here. That being said, Chinese can be hard to translate because there are a lot of words and phrases that don't translate... or you would have to use many words in English to explain the concept thereby making the subtitles long and awkward. Chinese is far more succinct than English at times. But for sure, you definitely catch a lot of missing details when you can speak the language!
I dropped QOT even if I love the lead actors. I like this one better so far. QOT was kind of too much... almost…
Asian fan culture is toxic af. My pfp is one of my favourite Chinese actresses called Ni Ni! If you like C dramas, I can recommend Rise of the Phoenixes (if you like complex plots, palace intrigue, schemes and beautiful sets and costumes) - a very intellectual, Machiavellian period drama. If you prefer fantasy, Love and Destiny is fantastic about gods and immortals. A good combination of comedic fluff, sweetness, romance and deep, heart-breaking angst.

Personally I prefer to keep the drama on the screens, I don't care who is dating who or whatever. That's their personal business, and certainly shouldn't affect their careers (unless they commit a crime).
Some good K dramas ongoing atm, Love Next Door on Netflix and No Gain No Love on Prime.
And you! We'll have to see how the story progresses. I hope the romance picks up now that the cancer issue is out of the way. I think they just need some booze to get things going lol. I think this cancer thing may just be a wake-up call for the ML, he's wasted so much time already hiding his feelings, it's about time he starts pursuing her as a woman.

Wasn't that just another actress who posted a drunken selfie with him on Insta and then deleted it? I think she was just trying to get some attention. Wasn't really anything to do with KSH.

I agree. I love all the cast of QOT, it was the writing and script that was the weakest link for me. I really tried to watch QOT to the end but it just felt like a chore. I am not convinced it would have been a hit had there been a different ML...
I think it really depends on peoples' personal perferences alone. For me, I like both. The storyline of QOT is…
In theory, I don't mind clichés if they're done well, but for me QOT really missed the mark, the comedy was really lacking for me and the characters were so wooden. (Just my POV). I agree with you this drama is more realistic and relatable, it also really delivers on the script and comedic scenes.

Humans are complicated, they don't always act in ways that we personally consider logical. The biggest conflicts I've had in my life have been with people who have vastly different attitudes and values. They couldn't understand my POV and I couldn't understand theirs leading to conflict and a breakdown in communication.
Many people do hide their difficulties for their own reasons be it stoicism, a fear of vulnerability, a fear of inconveniencing or burdening others or just not knowing how to say it, so you procrastinate and then it just gets harder to confess... There are so many reasons why people hide important things like health conditions from the ones they love. Sure, we may think it's illogical or stupid, but we all are! 🤷♀️ I certainly know that I sometimes do some really stupid, illogical stuff too lol.

I think the cancer theme fits very well here. She was overworked and unhappy and had to face a major health crisis to reevaluate her priorities. She's also a type of person who puts on a brave face and doesn't want to burden anyone else with her pain, I have a family member who is just like that, he always hides or even lies about health issues he's having because he doesn't want to make a fuss. I think the cancer revelation was perfect. Made me cry. Sometimes a major health crisis can totally change everything. I had a similar experience and it also led to a family relationship healing after years of tension so I could really relate to her mother finding out and it making her rethink how she treated her daughter.
As for the friends to lovers, they behave like siblings and have a certain type of dynamic, even if they had feelings for each other, this drama shows how hard it is to break out of patterns of behaviour. They've been apart for years and now trying to find an adult relationship. This also happens a lot. You can have a certain dynamic with someone when you're young, but then you grow up and the dynamic needs to change for a more mature connection to develop. Also, it's not that they didn't know they had feelings, it's that they never confessed it. I have a friend just like this who I grew up with, but we always awkwardly avoided taking the next step. But you never know if we might reconnect in a few years time and take the leap.
is it? I like both QOT and LND tho! I had my eye on them ever since the casting news came.
I came across several people who loved QOT but don't like this one. I really like this drama but personally, I really couldn't understand why people loved QOT so much, for me it was two dimensional and cliched, I ended up dropping it around episode 14 because I couldn't make myself watch anymore episodes lol. And yet, loads of people were raving about it so it comes down to taste.
