The ending was too rushed for me. I also would have liked to see a repeat of the swimming pool scene... Why did she just turn up? Shouldn't she have come through the water? Needed another 5-10 minutes for that ending. I also felt bad for historical Kang Tae Ha, aren't they basically the same person? It's weird to distinguish the two. I found that a bit odd.

As I'm watching this, I wish this drama had aired before Mirror and I wish they had done a better job creating Mirror because it was a mess.

I'm still watching it (episode 29). She is a minor villain so far, but she is an opportunist looking to get power but keeps failing. So far, she hasn't shown any interest in the ML except talking about maybe targeting him in the future to try to get power, but it hasn't happened yet. So... so far she hasn't been an obstacle.

I haven't finished this drama. In many ways it's very good, but the FL is immature and has an annoying voice (bad dubbing apparently), and for me personally, the leads don't have chemistry... I don't feel any sparks there. However, it's well worth watching for the rest of the story. It's a well made drama.

Journey of Flower is so much better. This drama is a waste of time.

Good to know! I will remain open minded about her. I also read in comments below that the voice actor dubbing her is not an accurate representation of her voice, which definitely has contributed to my negative opinion thus far. Honestly, I do not agree with dubbing. Actors should do their own recordings and represent themselves. Line delivery and tone is one of the most important things for an actor.

If you liked dramas like Hometown Cha Cha Cha, Meet Yourself etc you may enjoy this and if you like quirky characters, complications of village life vs the big city, identity issues, mature characters (the main characters are in their late 30s), this may be your type of drama.

This is definitely a good point and it starts off problematic because the young Shi Ying and Zhu Yan seem to be a similar age, which is misleading. They would have been better casting child actors with a larger age gap to make that clear.

I do not recommend it. It was a colossal waste of time. Very frustrating drama, badly made. The editing was appalling.

It's not her appearance but her acting and acting style, but it may also be the stylistic choices by the director, so I'll give her the benefit of the doubt... As for appearances, look at Ever Night for example, Ireine Song is not a great beauty, but she is very convincing on screen. Other talented actresses I would have considered better suited would be Zhou Dongyu or Xu Ruohan for example.

Regardless of who is to blame for this performance, I don't find her portrayal convincing or engaging compared to the other characters. She just seems to be bringing the quality of the rest of the drama down.

Anyway, these are my impressions of her thus far. I'm still watching the drama so open to changing my mind.

I'm mystified by the casting of the FL. She seems out of place in an otherwise excellent drama.
