XL is a beautiful character. He has a deep understanding of XY, it's just a shame there are so many unspoken words between them. I wish he would be brave and confess his love, because even though there is clearly love between these two especially because of their trauma bond, I don't think XY realises how much he loves her and every time they get close, he pushes her away. It's sad to see. I am still hopeful that their love will develop more in the next part... How cute would a white haired baby with a flower birthmark be? 😍😍😍 I doubt the drama will fulfill my dreams, but it would be so nice to see XL become a real partner of XY.

XL is flawed in different ways, as we know, but at least he is resolute. FangFeng Bei made XL a much softer character, which compensated for all of XL's abusive BS. Also, his 37 years of blood sacrifice made up for all the times he hurt or used XY in the past.
However, I do have a soft spot for Cangxuan because although he is after the throne and therefore has to make difficult choices, he is deeply devoted to XY. I feel that looking after her is still number 1 for him compared to the other two who put their army or family before her.
The first 9 episodes were incredibly tedious and dry that I almost dropped it, but episode 10 is showing a bit more promise as the romance is getting started. I'm persevering for the leads. I also saw some clips from the future episodes that look promising, so I'm hopeful.
I haven't watched it yet, but I want to know, here Zhang Wan Yi is given the FML role, but there is no discussion…
This drama is not a typical C drama where you know who the FL will end up with... She has a very special bond with 3 of these men, but her life story is complicated and these relationships are beautiful in their own way. Many fans are choosing their favourite ML, but honestly that may result in disappointment... I recommend being team Xiaoyao (the FL) lol.
There is something really off about this drama. It tries to be funny, but somehow fails... The funny scenes aren't that funny somehow... Is it the script or the delivery or the soundtrack? I can't put my finger on it. Still watchable even though the comedy doesn't deliver... Hope it will pick up in coming episodes.
I have to admit, I started this drama and expected to hate it and drop it but it's so sweet and heartwarming and sincere, it totally won me over and I couldn't stop watching it!
I loved the show but the pacing was so off in the last two episodes. They devote all this time to creating this villain and then the whole scene of him at the end was so short it was all over and done with so quickly! In my opinion they should have put more of those romantic, sweet scenes in previous episodes in the drama and devoted more screen time to a dramatic ending before wrapping it up nicely with some sweet scenes. Also, the issue of the curse and the spells and magic which was a great theme in the earlier episodes just disappeared and became an afterthought. This drama really needed restructuring to reach its full potential.
Also, the office second couple added nothing to the story. Completely superfluous. All of the modern characters could have been written in greater depth, but they felt a bit shallow.
Honestly, the historical part of this drama was the most interesting storyline. They should have focused on that and then gone to the present time.
Episode 4 was one of the best. Absolutely hilarious performance by Rowoon.
