I think Lou Yao needs to grow up and find himself. He is unskilled and immature. He needs to go off and have some experience before he can get married imo.

That was already covered from the get go. They broke it off. The girl in question was that spoiled brat, and she was determined to marry one of the royal family members and LY didn't like her so they broke it off. It was made official some episodes ago.

I saw a preview. CSS's mother takes her to see what life is like inside LY family home to give her a wakeup call. His family home situation is complicated. LY is very weak willed and unskilled. He is a part of the second family in the Lou family. The women are tyrannical snobs, especially the head of the house, they humiliate her I think. CSS will definitely not marry in if she's going to suffer from more vicious family members, she's had enough of that! The only real reason she liked LY was because she thought they would have a harmonious life together.

I think she does like LBY, but she is in denial or maybe she simply doesn't know how to recognise her feelings for LBY. Whenever they are near each other the air is practically crackling. Talk about chemistry! I think she was a bit intimidated by that intensity, especially after the rebellion. She accepted Lou Yao because he was sweet and kind , he was very devoted in assisting her. But they are not equals... She always leads LY.

Exactly and she has grown up without love and without any role models on this subject. I think she was heavily influenced by her admiration for her aunt and uncle. She thinks, hey if it works for them, then it can work for me.

Because she has issues with self-worth, she values harmony, LY does so much to please her which is very novel for her and she's grown up neglected and unloved. She herself said she doesn't really know what love is. She accepted LY because he was nice and they get on, and he was the only one who asked. I don't think she has a clue that the other two fancy her, let alone what she really feels herself or is capable of feeling.

C dramas are usually really fatphobic. How is this drama? Good or more of the old cliche Chinese style portrayal of fat people?

I guess in some regions certain content wouldn't be allowed like LGBTQ stuff or sex scenes. But they could surely find a way...

If Netflix wants to regain some subscribers, they could try having one worldwide library for everyone... It's online for God's sake, what regions? 🙄

Omg I really really want to watch Alchemy of Souls but episode 1 hasn't aired on my region of Netflix yet. Another week or two.

I've watched about half, so there are options there, I'm just not sure what will fill the hole in my heart left by this drama lol
