What are they saying?

I am so disappointed by the acting of the FL. Im Soo Hyang. She constantly has this deer in the headlights look O.O and speaks in a baby voice. She's so flat and boring. Even the teenage actress playing younger her is infinitely more dynamic than she is. The ML looks like he doesn't even know how to handle that blank stare so his performance around her also falls flat. This drama is so funny at times, but she really is the weakest link, totally passive and the rest of the cast is carrying her. Such a shame. A different pairing for the FL and ML, and director to lead the way would have made this into an epic redo of Jane the Virgin.

Providing none of the actors have a sudden scandal and get blacklisted. I was looking forward to Night Wanderer but Deng Lun was accused of tax evasion so that drama is cancelled and it was just about to air... Sigh.

Because they don't have any certainty either... So many dramas every year fail to make it to the screen. Also, constantly changing rules on dramas and censorship and all of that complicates matters immensely.

What are your impressions of the drama so far?

I know that this show is a favourite of many, but I have to say I found it uninteresting. Perhaps if I was 10 years younger I would have enjoyed it more and found the immaturity more relatable. However, it's watchable and has some nice moments, but for me it had nothing special. What's more, when you look into the actual people the story is based on, a better choice for FL would have been the short haired stocky blonde weight lifter. I know it's a drama, but choosing this stunning 5'9" model and calling her ugly and fat is just bizarre.
For me, this drama is overrated. 8/10 .

Speaking of second seasons, I remember there was a bit of a joke after Sword Snow Stride at the ML that he now owes us 2 second seasons!

Honestly, I don't understand why this drama has been badly received here. I think it's really good so far and definitely on a par with other romcom K dramas. Just don't compare it with the other versions, act like you're watching something new. This drama is really funny. Some genuinely laugh out loud scenes.

I suspect things just run differently in Hollywood. In Western series and movies, they are much more likely to commit to the original cast. They might change one actor if there is a good reason, but not the whole cast and definitely not the main leads. Might as well just do a remake. I suspect they also write contracts in such a way to ensure continuity. Imagine if they changed the cast for Harry Potter for each new movie lol. It would have been a sure flop. Asian drama makers should take note of this. There are plenty of examples of a change of cast making it a complete flop. Look at Ever Night. Everyone eagerly awaited Ever Night 2, they changed the ML and as a result, Ever Night 2 was badly received, and then what happens... No Ever Night 3. There are also plenty of cases where they do 1 season and you never see season 2, despite popular demands because the organisation of it has failed. This is why I don't trust Asian dramas that do seasons. The safest option is a full drama from start to finish.

I thought Eun Gi (Ahn Bo Hyun) was the brother of the FL. Why did he just describe himself as her friend. I'm confused!

I enjoyed some parts, but it I just didn't feel that connection with the characters and story. If it was crap, I would have dropped it. Definitely watchable, but didn't hit the mark for me.
