Anyone here familiar with Korean food? Out of curiosity, the rice cakes traditionally given to neighbours when moving in (I've noticed it in a few dramas, including this one), what is it called and what's in it?
It's not a drama that can stand by itself without the leads. If you like the book, the leads, then yes ...
And it's pretty generic... There's nothing particularly unique about it. For me it also doesn't pack a punch in terms of emotions. I would have restructured the plot so it's not so focused on Yongzhou politics.
I just watched the first episode and i was a bit bored and confused, but i still want to give this drama a chance…
I find it watchable... but it's a good, not a great drama. If you have nothing better on your watchlist, keep going. Otherwise, it's no major loss if you give it a miss.
I am with you 😤😤. If we can accept this kind of behaviour, does it mean we have to forgive everyone who…
She was also out of line in the past, but this stab through the heart and we're just expected to shrug our shoulders. F*** that! Bad choice by the directors. Not cool.
That disciple sister of Bai Fengxi is such a ****! She stabbed her sister through the heart and thinks she can apologise "I misunderstood you". If it wasn't for the magical medicine, she would have died. Keep your crocodile tears to yourself. Ugh.
Seems as though this series will go down as a hidden gem, which is weird considering the many mediocre period…
I agree. It has less pop appeal than the run of the mill drama, but it's an excellent drama, the acting and the production are phenonenal. Targeted at a different kind of audience though I guess. I think I'm going to read up on that time period and the people involved, might help me keep track of all the many characters! :-D
This is an immensely complex drama, a lot of schemes and characters. Very well done drama, but only advised for people who like heavy plots related to historical politics.
I've never eaten Korean food before. What would you recommend for a newbie?
