So I was right in my observation yesterday - there's more to Sang Eun than meets the eye. It seems like her character will be like an onion whose layers will be peeled off one by one.
Joo Ran's son knows what's happening, right? I bet he didn't drink the milk his father gave him saying it's from his mother, coz he knows she would never send milk for him. Which also means he may have seen his father leave the house that day.
I couldn't understand at first the reason for those long, slow-moving shots in Joo Ran's house, but now I think they are slow coz that's the way she looks at the world. As she gets off her medication and becomes alert to what's happening around her, her inner world will catch up and hopefully we will be rid of those slow shots
That was intense! Two very disturbed women, both facing different kind of abuse. I'm intrigued by Sang Eun. She has a lot of material to get her husband booked - hidden camera, bruises, neighbours as witnesses - and still she is biding her time. What for?
I'm glad this is 8 episodes, coz 16 episodes of this 'atmosphere' would be too much to sit through. Look forward to see these two passive women get into action mode.
Don't think I could have finished Episode 2 if it didn't have Jun-Ho looking gorgeous as always. But that's not enough to keep me going. I love Kdrama tropes but they need to be supported by characters/actors who can carry off being tropey with panache.
I really don't get why we are supposed to like our lead pair. How is Sa Rang the best talent with her constant unprofessional behavior? What admirable trait has Won shown except being a handsome good-for-nothing? The guy can't apologise to someone he has hurt and prefers to pay him off with money he hasn't earned himself! And there's no chemistry there - from what I have seen till now Yoona isn't a good enough actress and looks too bloodless to convince me that Jun-Ho could fall for her. Dropping this one for now.
Mixed feelings. Jun-Ho is a treat in those 3-piece suits but I can't get a hang of his character. Sa Rang built up her career from scratch in 7 years while Won spent those years....moping? I also don't get his feeling of isolation when his father is clearly trying to be close to him. I hope they give him real reasons for coming across as a loser in designer wear.
Sa Rang too isn't as charming as the show wants us to believe. Her perpetually smiling face started irritating me after a while, maybe coz her smile neither looks kind nor genuine. Hope things get better once our leads start interacting π€π»
That was an exceptionally well done 1st episode. The backstory was explained fast but with all the feels. I'm already invested in these people, even the restaurant ahjumma. The child actors have my heart β€οΈ
Somehow from the synopsis I expected it to be a sad drama, but the tone here is upbeat and warm despite so many tragedies in the first episode. Shin Hye-Sun carries the knowledge and confidence of living multiple lives on her face, and Ahm Bo-Hyun is as vulnerable as he is oh-so-manly! Can't wait to see Seo-Ha being gobsmacked by Ji-Eum's sass at every turn π
I'm pretty sure it's because of dubbing, they release the episodes in other countries once it's dubbed in said…
That's stupid! I'm Indian but I can't care less about Hindi dub as I prefer to watch them speak Koream with subtitles. I'm not going to wait weeks and will have to watch the shows on illegal sites despite having a Netflix subscription.
Ah! Things are picking up now. Hye-In still remains more unlikable than Je-Na for me, but maybe what happens at the party will change my mind.
Someone mentioned that this show looks like another version of Boys Over Flowers, and I agree. While I don't expect Je-Na to fall for Hye-In, there seems to have been a hint of admiration on Je-Na's face after that head butt.
Chan is really like a big fluffy puppy! There are people like that in real life, and itβs absolutely impossible…
I am also not keeping my hopes high for a real kiss π₯Ί But at least we should get some more warmth from Yeol now, if not chemistry. There are only 4 episodes left. This one needed a longer runtime.
YeChan is such a puppy. Barely out of his teens and infatuated with an older guy, and that too one as closed off as Yeol. I don't want to see him get hurt.
The chemistry still isn't working for me, but there's no way I can abandon puppy YeChan!
Well, well! I didn't see that twist at the end of episode 5 coming! And the episode 6 preview shows more unexpected turn of events. This show keeps getting better!
I'm loving it! The tension is escalating with each episode and these Moms look like they can blow up anytime. I loved the scene of all the Dads subtly showing off their super-expensive watches. It's not just the women who are petty, the men are pretty nasty too.
I read somewhere that the director of this show is the same as Woman of Dignity. I had loved that one, and I hope they manage to keep it as tight and interesting till the end.
This was sooooo much better than I expected!! Thank you P'Aof for finally completing what was left incomplete in ATOTS - proper culmination of all that slow burn romance and simmering chemistry!
All that intensity between Phupha and Tian flowed as tears from their eyes in the proposal scene π₯Ή I see that as their wedding after getting Tian's parents' blessing. And what followed was very much their wedding night where Tian showed Phupha who is going to be the boss in that marriage ππ₯° I know I'm going rewatch this last episode a few times β€οΈ

PS. Son Woo Hyun is a treat!
