At this point, Hye-In is more unlikable than Ye-Rin. It's good that she isn't the typical good-hearted candy and can get nasty easily. Though her characterisation isn't very convincing. In fact, most of the characters seem like stock stereotypes.
I guess this also becomes a whodunit now. The girl who died had complained against Ye-Rin. She was the one who refused to accept the expensive gift from the trust fund baby? If so, he is another suspect.
The set up has taken 4 out of 10 episodes. Hope things get going now.
What were these last 2 episodes? 'Let's date' and that's it? No explanation of YuJae's behavior? When did he start liking HanJoon? Why did he reject him at first? Why did he throw the chocolates in the garbage bin? Did he kiss HanJoon coz he wanted to or coz he didn't want to lose him? What happened after the kiss? What happened after the 'Let's date'? We didn't even get to see the joy of his love being reciprocated on HanJoon's face!
A story should be told properly. What's the point of leaving major incidents to the audience' imagination? Why even tell a story if you don't have the time to do justice to it? Aaaargh! 🤦🏻♀️🤬
FL scammed them. She made them believe their son is a genius and must enroll in a special US school to make the…
I understand the scam she pulled but it wasn't convincing that they just handed over the cash to her. And it they transferred the money, how come they didn't know it wasn't being transferred to the institution and how was there no trace of transfer that the police could track? It was a very convenient scam, and that too on a couple who are frauds themselves.
This keeps getting better with each episode! My only complaint is that I needed more explanation on how the step parents handed over all that money to Ra Un just like that.
However, that's a small issue. The players have all been revealed and our hero has crossed over to the (semi) dark side. Now we just need to know if the Probation Officer is an ally or an enemy.
The opening episodes reminded me very strongly of the Kdrama Once Upon A Small Town. It also had a similar dog! So it seemed like I was watching the same thing again with different actors.
Also, not feeling any chemistry between the two boys. They are both so different from each other in every way. YeChan is such an eager puppy, it's a given that Yeol will end up getting charmed despite himself. While YeChan's sweet nature may help Yeol 'heal', it's difficult to see them having a long relationship once the novelty wears off. I know I shouldn't be be looking for realistic relationship goals from a romcom, but their power dynamics are too lopsided at present. This is one show where I want to see a time leap of a few years.
Five months and YooJae is still confused about his feelings? He should know by now if he likes men. If he does, what's holding him back despite all that sexual tension between them?
If he kissed HanJoon only so that they don't drift apart again, that would be just sad. And would only drive HanJoon away.
It may seem like I'm complaining but that's not the case. I love these boys and this show has my heart.
I really enjoyed episodes 3 & 4. Contrary to what others think, I really like Jo Yoo Jae's character. I don't…
YuJae isn't a red flag at all. He is always the first one to apologise even when HanJoon is the one at fault. He didn't deserve that smack on his face, but he still apologised first. He is always taking care of HanJoon in his own way (that Gucci jacket), making sure his pride isn't hurt due to his financial situation, making plans for their future. He is a good friend.
The only reason I'm not feeling heartbroken right now is because I know this is a BL and HanJoon's feelings will be eventually reciprocated. Coz HanJoon has made himself so vulnerable with that confession - he stands to lose his best friend forever, that at a time when they may go to different universities and lose touch if they aren't living together.
The incidents leading up to the breaking of that chocolate box were all full of undercurrents, but the strongest feeling between them even after arguments and fights was to get back together. YuJae may come across as the brash one but he is always the first to apologise. I can't wait to see where they go from here!
The last two episodes needed more of HaRam's spunk and less of YiJun's wishy-washyness. But once again YiJun shone when he got inspired by HaRam - that meeting with the ex in the restaurant was so satisfying 😇
Overall, I enjoyed this show a lot. The ending wasn't as good as the rest of the show but thankfully it wasn't so bad as to ruin what had been a perfect show till then (*cough* A Shoulder To Cry On *cough*). This is one more KBL added to the list of KBLs I would recommend to everyone.
Let me get this one out of the way first - where is the justice for Tian?! Did her stepfather go to jail? How is the mother so easily forgiven? This left a really bad taste in an otherwise perfect show.
Coz Gun and Cher are literally perfect together (I'm going to ignore episode 11). Phi Gun is so whipped for his Nong Cher 🥰 I love watching Gun blush every time Cher calls him Phi 🫠 And their kisses are so sweet 🤗 This show was my serotonin boost every week. I don't care for the plot holes or lack of logic or the improperness of a boss dating an intern - not when our boys are so cute and wholesome together. ForceBook have now become my second favorite pair after ZeeNunew. The wait for Only Friends just got harder 🥺
I love shows where silences speak louder than words. This show has done a wonderful job of creating real kids dealing with family issues, poverty, study pressure, and teenage relationship angst - all in 15-minute episodes.
The intensity between the leads simmers on low heat for now, but with jealousy added to the fire it looks like the feelings may boil over anytime. YooJae's jealousy doesn't seem to be that of a best friend. I feel he is aware of HanJun's feelings for him and confused about his own. Can't wait for next week!
PS. The actress who plays ChaeYoung played BitNa in The Eighth Sense.

The boxes were not explained, nor was the phone call between the Moms.
