They should have had korean actors play the VIPs instead of English ones. The dialogue was terrible.
I agree. I haven't watched S3 yet, but in S1 with the VIPs I was getting xenophobia vibes. They're elevated in status (as masters over other races), whereas the 'contestants' fought for their lives.

Who cares. She's Hollywood. Like that makes S3 'legit', gives it validity, ups the ratings? I like my KOREAN dramas to be Hollywood free zones. I wouldn't be surprised if there was an 'American Squid Game' for Netflix to push for a S4.
All of your reviews are fantastic, but this one is excellent. I stopped at S1. Had no thought to watching S2. Now, with "As billionaires in the real world flaunt their wealth and buy their way out of trouble, the drama felt even more timely in its last installment." S3 would basically put the last nail in the coffin. I'd asked another User if S3 could be understood without watching S2 and haven't a reply yet.

Very cryptic, and I still have no desire to watch 2 or 3, BUT if one were inclined, would it be possible to watch season 3 without watching season 2 to understand 3 to put closure to the series?

Just finished it, and can understand why not many can sit through films such as this, but I think those that can have incredible patience and an insatiable quest for the history of other countries and that of their own country, which includes the cultural aspects. From my early teen years I've sought what I wasn't taught in school, then when access to Asian dramas & movies became available in our country it felt like the entire world had opened. Even though I don't watch 'Hollywood' entertainment anymore, I still watch European movies and dramas, not series like I did way back when.
I am NOT an a** kisser. Having said that, I will say reading your reviews are seriously refreshing, informational, and entertaining. Whether I choose to watch something you've reviewed, or am unable to watch bc I don't do illegal streaming sites, your reviews are always a pleasure to read.

I can't say the same. I check the cast, which was unfortunate in that other drama, then the writer. Then again a writer can change all of a sudden. I'd have to search through my Completed to read my Notes, but one writer did a 180 in the 5 year interval betwee dramas, making viewers wonder wth happened to him personally. Writers do tend to be consistent and I shouldn't rely on that, but I do. I use the writer's past works as reference whether their newest 16 episode drama will drag in the middle episodes (usually filler eps). Now, I'm checking too, if their 'standard' filler eps will be applied to a 10 ep drama. The watching great drama process should NOT be this hard.

Better "not enough" than "what a waste". There's another recent drama that went off track though it was 10 episodes. It all depends on the writer's ability, I guess.🤷🏼

If they'd used 'spirits' it would sound too religious, and that's another thing I noticed, they've used elements of Christianity (Protestantism and Catholicism), Buddhism, Shamanism, Occult, and of course, Confucianism in OMGC. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I've looked forward to each episode. And I agree, it's 'Tomorrow' and 'Move to Heaven' worthy.
So far, 2 episodes down, and it's quality is right up there with Move to Heaven and Tomorrow. Here's hoping for the other 8 to solidify my opinion. Too, I wasn't expecting the 'Comedy' to catch me off guard like it did. Excellent writing and direction........so far.
