I did the awful mistake of writing 98 instead of 89, don't know what's wrong with me today :D
why is it that all Egyptians I meet here on MDL are younger than me, it makes me feel like an ajumma :((
hmmm, 1 litre of tears is so famous but I always felt I didn't want to watch it and haven't yet, though every one who's a fan of jdramas seemed to have watched it. It's just that I feel the title of the drama is so provocative, like it tells you you SHOULD cry buckets of tears when you watch this one, YOU HAVE TO!! like a warning or something. I'd have preferred if they named it differently.

SORRY I meant 89 not 98!!
I was writing from my mobile so I mis-touched the buttons :S turns out I'm nearly your ajumma :D
My first kdrama (like most Egyptians) was Winter Sonata but to me my first was You're beautiful which I watched after I graduated college. My last finished kdrama is Master's Sun.
first japanese is Hana yori dango and my last is Hanzawa Naoki.

Hi! Thanks a lot for accepting my friend request ^_^
Most of your favorites are shows that I liked, and I also like your reviews *thumbsup*
So you say you started first with jdramas, do you still watch any? Which is nearer to your taste, Kdramas or Jdramas?
Btw, do you speak japanese?

That's my case with IHYV, I started watching when it was starting to end. I was intending to do the same with MS coz I know myself so well, but my older sis who doesn't normally watch any dramas heard about it from me and went ahead and watched the first few episodes so I couldn't stand that she watched and I haven't yet so I did the mistake of watching it :(( It was torture, never EVER gonna do it again.

I have no experience with Taiwanese dramas, I hear good reviews of some but currently I don't feel like stepping in there, Korean and Japanese are enough for me at the moment :D
Well, I can't say I prefer one over the other, coz they're just so different in many ways. I find Jdramas to rely on firm and deep stories, attaching you to the drama itself, while Kdramas on the other hand don't necessarily focus on the story but rather on the character's relationship and interactions so one eventually gets attached to the characters themselves rather than the drama.
There are of course JDramas that make me attached to it's characters more than the story (it's the ones that resemble KDramas hehe) and on the other hand there are Kdramas that have very firm stories and deep messages, so there's no rule.
Lately I'm a bit more into KDramas, but I still watch Jdramas too I'm an addict of both.

just finished watching the finale a while ago, it was overall a very nice drama but I believe if I had watched it after it had finished airing I would have enjoyed it more, thing is I'm not used to watching Korean Dramas on air, in fact MS was my first....and also my last isA :D

Your favorite dramas & genres have some of the ones I love ^_~ though I hve to admit I enjoy crime dramas and find some historical ones to be quite deserving.

I tried searching online since I wasn't sure what's the origin of the word, I only had a vage idea that's it's from a card's game.
Of course I know the town basra, but this one's written with an alef after the beh, you can check the wiki below
http://ar.wikipedia.org/wiki/?????
It seems a bit complicated (I've never played it either) but in Egypt we sometimes say "Basra!" when the other person states something about him/herself that's just similar like yourself, like he did the exact thing or felt the exact way.
Never mind it, it's a stupid expression :D

Always glad to find fellow Egyptians here on MDL ^^

well, Gu Family Book is on my PTW list, though it got shifted a bit down on my priority list, and also seeing how many found the ending a bit opened or lacking, and you say in your profile the writer is willing to do a second season, I think I should wait until it's decided before I watch.
So, I can see you're watching Master's sun, how did you find the last few episodes? to be more precise starting the 13th?

I didn't say I hated Big, I just HATED it's ending, well it may have not been my favorite drama but it was going nice until that ending O_o
OTP stands for "One True Pairing" and it means that the female and male lead have so good chemistry that it would be believable if they were actually dating in real life

Honored that u love Egypt <3
My first drama may have been Winter Sonata which aired ages ago on tv, but to me my first was you're beautiful basra ;-) >not sure whether u use that expression in Iraq or not :-)
I'm currently watching Master's Sun & Good Doctor and really enjoying both.
Also I've started king of dramas, and downloaded the first few episodes of Cruel city but have yet to watch.
I prefer to recommend a drama after I'm finished with it though, so I'll have to wait & see how I find them.
You?

Exactly!!! It feels so nice to know someone feels exactly like you, especially when it's an opinion that you couldn't find the proper words to express.
Well, their endings might not be the best, some are quite the opposite from the drama's all over atmosphere & quite unexpected (hong gil dong) and some are utterly disappointing to the point of wanting to crash your pc watching it (Big) :))
But I have to admit I still like their dramas love their witty scripts. Crossing fingers we get a good ending, I'm sure whatever it is it won't be worse than Big's. :D

Well, there's no doubt that easy to foresee developments are not a good point in a drama, but let's be honest....we drama addicts have watched TOO many dramas, it's nearly impossible to write a 100% original and unexpected script, maybe that's why lately fantasy plots are getting popular because there's more ground for unexpected events.
EXACTLY!!! I especially enjoy to read negative reviews of my favorite dramas they're just so fun to read, but of course -ve reviews of dramas I hated are even more hilarious :D
I hope the end is satisfactory for all parties, the fans and not so much of a fan ;-)
