I like the direction, editing and how the screenplay was written here. There will be hanging scenes for audience to feel injustice towards the leads, “…why they don’t tell…why they keep secrets…” then as you watched on the revelation is well paced to make audience understand, “ah-ha, that’s why she didn’t say, that’s why he also didn’t tell…”. This type of tropes may seems typical and straightforward, but it takes experienced to pace this well so we can accept each arc’s transition.

Nicely written! I like the two female characters, contrasting personality and yet they each have their wits and role to play around Tang Lici. The friendships breakage between Tang Lici and Liu Yan is truly sad.
I love Luo YunXi’s portrayal of this characters, mysterious, with depth yet there are moments of sadness when he has flashbacks of his past memories of the brotherhood.
The sets here were also very beautiful. Is there a music score with this title?

This author wrote ‘The Mysterious Lotus Casebook’, so from that work, she does write good friendships and interesting investigation plot.
