I totally think all of them are victim. But the series kinda execute it badly. They didn't really show them "lost control". HY and SWL look like their normal self. And they didn't even use some simple effects to make them look abnormal. (Maybe drunk effects we usually see would help) And even after the incident we don't see HY&SWL got traumatized by it much. Feel like only ppl who familiar with the genre will get it but even if you familiar with the genre it still can be up setting.
It's good. Just not extra ordinary they play it safe to much. 1 At the very end the battle scenes and strategies is much weaker than the middle one which is a let down because hey it supposed to be the finale climax. (The novel did a lit better on this)
2the brotherhood are so weak and canon floder. They could have died and change new people in and we wouldn't notice lol. It's kinda sad because in order to make the character be the impressive leaderyou gotta make them the leader of the alpha pack or something. their are example of this type of characters across Chinese drama. She supposed to care about them but they basically invincible. (Tbh I don't think they are bad. I just feel like the story make them look invincible)
3They could lean into more political fight and make sml full on last boss when they already give him so much screen time and I might add they wrote him smarter&more scheming than the book if only he could really conner fml&ml. He could use someone else pretend to cooperate with outsiders to kill off ML or something. Give it a dramatic last dance. Like he lost his only best friend/foster sister he believe if only ml died he could get her maybe🤷 They nerf him in the last few ep for the easy ending plot
4as a book reader I gotta say they robbed y'all the heroic ending lol. The book is not perfect but the ending will got place in my heart. Brother hood,War strategies depressing war stor and more heroic deads.
Still I enjoy the hell out of it paid for express the day it came out too lol. The middle part it hella good the ending bit are a bit let down. The adaptation is great too except for thing I complained above. Like it's not exceptional but really good The romance is great af

Way better than I thought. Plot is good. Storyline is good. Some weak plot execution can be over look. Minimum cringe moment(for me at least) The first 1-2 is very skeptical. The leads didn’t seem to capture my attention. Then it gets better and better. Pacing is really good so little boring moment. I’m at ep 10 and I’m satisfied so far. Poom (Joe) acting is beautiful. The series is heavy on drama and they pull it off didn’t seem force most of the time and Poom is doing really good I didn’t expect that from him at all And he’s good in action scene too this is wild. Up is doing okay tbh I always put him up there as a bl actor who can act but I’m a litttt disappointed he isn’t GREAT yet after all this time.
