Way better than I thought. Plot is good. Storyline is good. Some weak plot execution can be over look. Minimum cringe moment(for me at least) The first 1-2 is very skeptical. The leads didn’t seem to capture my attention. Then it gets better and better. Pacing is really good so little boring moment. I’m at ep 10 and I’m satisfied so far. Poom (Joe) acting is beautiful. The series is heavy on drama and they pull it off didn’t seem force most of the time and Poom is doing really good I didn’t expect that from him at all And he’s good in action scene too this is wild. Up is doing okay tbh I always put him up there as a bl actor who can act but I’m a litttt disappointed he isn’t GREAT yet after all this time. Low key rooting for him and got lit bit disappointed, he is good so far tho. I enjoying the series so far it’s very obvious they work their ass off to produced it . appreciate the work👏🏻
Omegvers logic aside,I get why ppl upset. They should have adapted it better. Grap is not gonna be ok in this era especially in series it was dangerous to romanticize and it could go very very wrong. They should have show more that the characters are not in their right mind or something. I also observed that in China or Asia culture in general especially in miniseries/low budget industry it seems normal to romanticize grap scene. The damage is done. But from the very start the series is a big red flag. So I’m not surprised I know it’s comin. It’s just way worst than I thought. Still enjoying it but very disappoint.

I don't think they're mad or do it intentionally. The early eps are obviously made carefully. so by gave up I mean it just feels more like an emotionally drained group of ppl try to get their job done as best as they can while respecting the og work.

I'm more worried about the directors and how they will adapt it. BWS might not be the best choice in some people's minds. But he never tanks a project; at most, I think he can give mid performance. But if they got everything else (other than him) wrong then..... most of the time when adaptation didn't work out, it was when they thought they could do better. That's only work if you can really do better, not just because of ego.

same i like the show I feel like the theme is "People/ghosts do evil things because they're lost. They just need some guidance and forgiveness." But the execution and the redemption arc are pretty loose. And I like my villains to get a good half-death-type beating before I can forgive them lol
as someone who don't follow chinese media enough to know all the dirt (yeah, I tried but it's too toxic, so I put my pink glasses on and only watch the series/movies), I still feel that this is a very dangerous move for someone in her position. She could get banned for real for speaking out. They could have fabricated dirt on her long before to use it right at this moment. just like many stars before her who tragically fall. But I think that's one of the reasons she speaks out too because if anything bad comes out after this. People would be more doubtful than judgemental.
It's just sad. I don't know if what she said is 100% true or not. I'm not her fan, so I can't give my 100% to her before the official investigation comes out. But I hope she can still work in the industry after all this. Her talent is real.

At their writing table they probably thinking yeah we do a mid romcon drama no one gonna expect great plot execution On top of that they got pressure into making it into 12 from 16 ep. So, they doing their best really.
